A heartfelt, lovely hospitality - something special to be experienced. A warm and glad atmosphere and a safe surrounding especially for people travelling by car. A perfect location re Rome.
Lovely sisters kongregatione Nostra Signora. From airport Ciampino - bus Cotral - metro Anagnina (in) - metro Valle Aurelia (out) - tranin FR3 to Viterbo, station La Storta (out), bus 201 direction down the street to bus stop name Cerquetta. -
The hotel had big electric gates which you couldn't get into without a pass so we felt very safe staying there which was great for 4 young girls. You had to be back before 11pm otherwise you weren't allowed in.
very qiuet place, nice garden very simple breakfast
The helpfulness of the staff and the serenity and cleanliness of the place. The showers were in the bathtub and no curtains. Therefore, the water got all over the bathroom.
Friendliness of the Sisters and peaceful location
Very good value for money, clean, well connected to city, excellent for families The hotel is run by nuns and has a policy of closing doors at 11 pm. No keys for guests. Also, they make you feel miserable for wanting to get back after 11 pm. No sign of this policy on Hotelbooking.com, it simply states: "Reception is closed between 23:00 and 07:00. Check-in and check-out during these hours must be arranged with the hotel" which does not refer to already "checked in" guests who should presumably be self sufficient in getting in and out at any hour (at least by foot). It is a pretty serious fault to me.
Countryside view and breakfast were lovely. Staff communicated in English. Internet was non-existent to very-slow. We were vacationing and had a very difficult time sending occasional updates to folks back home. The hotel is well-priced but became more expensive than desired after factoring in transit to and from the city and airport. (Staying in the city and paying a bit more for a hotel is a better option if you want to enjoy the city.) No English channels or English subtitles available. Very thin walls, but thankfully, no one in the adjoining room until the last day of our stay. Everything sufficient. Location was a draw-back since we were there to enjoy the city. If you want to countryside retreat, this place my be a good option. Restaurant was overpriced. Other close restaurants but walking is dangerous as a result of no sidewalk and crazy Roman drivers!
This is fantastic place to stay when you are not in rush and want to disconnect from stress. I was on business and it was ok for the purpose. Hotel staff was more than helpful. They just opened the place two weeks ago. Restaurant food was terrific. They make their own bred and few different types. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
The location very quiet and safe. We are not far from the city centre, abt 1 hour by bus ten by subway
If you like peaceful this is it, coupled with a very helpful and willing manager. The local area is lovely, ideal for walkers. There is a glorious lake within easy reach and the food in the lakeside resturants can be fabulous even for vegitarians like my wife. Rome centre is within a half hour by train which is by far the best way to go. All in all a lovely and economic spot. I'm big so the shower was a bit of a challenge but hey lifes not perfect.
This is like living in a house and you are a member of the family. Like the friendlyness and availability of the reception. Breakfast too poor and no choice at all. All prepacked biscuits/toasted bread, jam and butter and coffee or tea, no more no less.
It's outside of Rome center and therefore quieter than most other. If you do not mind the church bells in the morning its a great place.Very friendly and accomodating staff. Free parking. The restaurant is open until late in the evening, so if you come back to the hotel late you still get a great meal. No air-conditioning in the room.
A perfect location to stay in the Italian countryside and visit Rome quickly and cheaply on public transport. The staff are most helpful and the meals good value.
No airco (wad indicated in the description) and ppor breakfast.
It was clean, attractive, quiet, and the food was excellent. No, it was great. The travel into the city centre was a bit long but definitely reasonable (1 euro each way) and besides we knew about it ahead of time...we did not want to deal with traffic as we were driving. This place was easy to find and easy to get out of the next day.
I enjoyed not being in the central part of Rome and the bus system into Rome was excellent! The bathrooms are very small, especially the shower.
Beautiful scenery, overlooking a nature reserve. We could walk to a waterfall and Etruscan archeological site. The early morning atmosphere was great - birds, clear skies, crisp air. The food was great, and everyone was very friendly. Just be aware that it takes about an hour or more to get to Termini station - a local bus, a local train, then the Metro. But, the owners gave us a lift to the train station twice!
Excellent personal, good service, wonderful view and beautiful territory no condition in the room
The intamacy and the personal care by the owner and staff No
The staff was excellent in every way. Nothing
Fantastic food, peaceful location, clean, luxurious feel to the whole place. Very few other guests meaning you had the place to yourself practically!
The staff were very friendly and very helpful at all times. The position of the hotel was good for access to Rome by rail 3km to station. There were several restaurants in the vacinity of the hotel. The driveway to the hotel was long and not paved i.e. country track which was dusty and rough. We had asked for a room for 4 people but were squeezed into one for 2.
Staff was plesant. Short drive to FCO airport. Great breakfast. Was looking forward to a few days R&R by the pool after touring Italy for three weeks. Pool and grounds need a lot of work. The stable area was in the best repair. Should have been stated in your writeup primarly for horse lovers. The hardest bed we had on the trip and small room not worth the price
excellent friendly staff, good food, nice room and firm bed. no
Room size was good
The family which run this hotel are fantastic, they make you feel like you are part of the family when you stay. The service was excellent, and with the new improvements being done to this hotel it will be even more fantastic. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food in the hotel restaurant was fabulous and we highly recommend to eat here during your stay. All in all it was a great pleasure toy There was nothing to dislike
For the money, comfortable room, good restaurant, staff very friendly and helpful. Sign outside hotel not sufficiently obvious.
Family run hotel that they can really be proud of - and it shows. The friendliness and overall assistance from the staff could not be faulted. Rooms were very clean. Meals, both breakfast & dinner, were very good. We chose this hotel which was a little distance from Rome due to the fact that we had a car - Rail station is nearby & about 40 mins to Rome - 2 trains per hour - except Sunday. Trains on Sunday were a bit unreliable - this is no fault of the hotel whatsoever.
Good access to station & Rome. None
We were attending a concert in Rome and most hotels were charging outrageous prices for a one night stay in the city. This was around 15-20 km outside the city and was a good budget option for this type of trip. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful. I had booked a standard room and through some administrative mistake they said there were none left when I called the day before to confirm. The staff gave us a suite for the same price. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good. The only thing I saw as an inconvenience was that the train into town doesn't return past 10pm. Not too bad if you're doing a day trip into the city but if you want to train in for the evening like we were it makes things a little difficult. The quoted price for a taxi was around 60 Euro. There isn't much the hotel can do about this and I still recommend it as a good budget option. There is also probably much to do in the surrounding areas but we had plans to be elsewhere the following day.
Well run friendly staff, comfortable high standard of accommodation. The best Pizza in Italy!
was a good hotel well presented with good grounds. choice of food at restraunt of an evening was limited, problems with airconditioning in the room and unable to get breakfast when leaving to go to airport this morning as it was not open at 7.30am this morning and still not ready at 8.00am so had to leave.
nice hotel staff
staff offered quality service and rooms were spotlessly clean no lifts, dessert buffet for breakfast, far out from the city centre
hotel staff offered a very good quality service it's a little bit far from the city center and there is no elevator
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Terrible location and a long way out of Rome. Limited public transport at night. Poor choice for breakfast.
Rooms were very nice and modern and very clean The location is kinda of far, would suggest getting there in the day to see where you are going. But since the hotel is so nice it was worth it.
The corridors of the Hotel need to be improved upon. The welcoming odor is bad Try out good air fresher with the corridors
Excellent staff at Cassia Hotel. All you need in a hotel. Good Parking. Internet Service. Staff very helpful in directing us to use public transport. Ticket for public transport available from hotel reception.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located about 15kms from the centre of Rome and driving in is not too difficult plus you could if you wish take the train. The hotel is clean and quite well maintained and it has good covered private parking. Breakfast was a cold buffet but reasonably adequate. As with hotels in Greece where we live and in this case the rate paid is high on a value for money basis compared to a hotel we stayed in recently in Germany. However of its type and based upon the price paremeters of the Italian market it is quite good.
Staff were very helpful... Small, no room service or no way to get tea or coffee after 10:00am, no service available at night.
Since my purpose was to spend time with people in the La Storta neighborhood of Rome, Hotel Cassia was perfect for me. I found the staff very welcoming, friendly, and professional. The hotel was immaculate and well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful and, contrary to what others have written, it is possible to avoid sweets if you so choose. I had a counrtyside view of the pines of Rome from my balcony, an unexpected perk. It was good that I travel light because there was very little storage space in my room, neither a dresser with drawers nor a rack to put my suitcase. There was a small open space with shelves on the bottom holding an extra blanket and a room safe, and a rack on top with non-removable plastic hangers. Still, I would choose Hotel Cassia again.
It was a family run hotel, and the Son (I didn't get his name) was very welcoming, helpful and informative. Also the lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. The only thing I would suggest would be that the choice of food at breakfast could be widened to suit people from Ireland/England/Germany in that they include little things like boiled eggs/selection of cheeses and meats like ham etc
countryside location, nice pool and gardens poorly signposted so impossible to find. hire car a must as not even a regular taxi avaliable to hire in the area. the villa was located in the middle of countryside 15 mins from main road with no streetlights. the main road was very busy and unsafe to walk along to the nearest town. we were notified of a late check-in fee after booking was accepted. our room was small with paper thin walls with other guests arriving at 2am. our last night our room faced onto the gardens where a karaoke italian wedding was taking place until the early hours- with no means of transport and no resturant on site we stayed in our room waiting for piece and quite before our early start to fly home.
Leaving There are no signs for the hotel which is behind a prison compound, it took almost four hours to find and even the locals didn't know of it, and to add insult to injury I was charged an extra 50 euro for being late!, the other guests in the hotel were also charged extra because they also couldn't find it and were late.
fresh air, silence, no stupid cars and trucks bad availability by public transport
