We enjoyed the fact that they showed us around the old hotel and allowed us to wander on our own to peek into the kitchen and diningrooms in the afternoon. Very quiet and relaxing.
The Hotel is located in a little romance town in the mountains. The city is very cozy, calm, with old buildings from stone and lots of flowers. Beautiful views, nature and fresh air. The Hotel is in a very old medieval building, which is furnished accordingly. All public areas like dining rooms, lobby are decorated with antiques and it looks very natural there. The hotel stuff is so friendly that you feel that you are staying with good friends of yours. They are so cheerful, friendly and welcoming as I have always thought of true Italians. Breakfast was plentiful (wide choice of various, substantial food: standard continental set+omelet, mozzarella and tomatos, traditional ham). 1. It is rather difficult to get there: approximately 60 km of a true mountain road where you can not drive faster than 30-40 km/h. 2. We found the room interior poor. We booked a room of the cheapest category. Although interior of all public areas is very nice and make you feel as you are really travelling in time, the room was different. It was full of antique furniture, mirrors and etc., but it did not look cozy and natural. There was a mismatch between the antique and the rest of the room interior (decoration of walls, floor, windows). That made us feel that we are staying in a room, where old staff is stored. 3. Two separate beds do not work as one there. It is impossible to move them together. And matrasses sprawl from each other.
