Everything is really nice except for the mattresses which are old and very unconfortable. For me this is the first service a good hotel must give to a customer. We complained about the mattresses asking to cancel our reservation and they told us it was not possible, so I hardly could sleep during three nights.
Excellent hotel with the best matresses in France. Mediocre cuisine.
It was set in large grounds in a very quiet location and the cooking was of a very high standard. The dining room was closed Tues. & Wed. nights.
The pleasant surroundings, comfortable large room , friendly and helpful staff and above all the peace and quiet! As we were attending a wedding that weekend we did not need to use the restaurant but will return for a future break as it looked and smelt delightful!. No
One of the very best hotels that we stayed in. Its located in an enchanting natural environment. It has beatiful gardens, well-sized rooms, good-quality furniture and a tranquill environment. Its close to the Ocean. An ideal location to visit Quimper and the various tourist attractions located on the south-west coast of Brittany. really nothing to complain about
beautiful old country mansion, nice and very quiet location, food excellent but expensive, rooms spacious but a bit ' vétustes ' accueil pas très chaleureux
Everything was OK.
The setting of the hotel, the restaurant (wonderful dinners!), the friendliness and helpfulness of the general manager, which is reflected throughout her staff.
The rooms were fantastic - just like the pictures on the website. Sliding doors at the end of the bedroom led out onto a balcony overlooking the beach. View fantastic and the sound of the sea was very relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody looking for a few days rest and relaxation. Hotel restaurant expensive for the quality of food offered - plenty of better value available in local restaurants
Great location. Upgraded to superior room on arrival with larger balcony and sun loungers. Same dinner menus during 5 night stay and no vegi option except vegetables or salad.
Helpfulness of staff. The shower design was poor in room 206, the water floods onto the bathroom floor as there is nothing to stop it from doing so. Other than that everything very good.
The view of the Atlantic straight from the bed, the friendly receptionist and staff in general, the fact that we could borrow a kettle, the culture in close vicinity (Concarneau: ville close, as well as other places of interest within a 25 km radius), the walks through the forest close to the hotel, etc., etc.
the rooms are beautiful and the position on the beach is breathtaking just like the pictures we loved it but being english we would have loved tea making facilities in our room
Excellent situation on the beach. Competent and friendly staff. High quality food. Suggestion: Hotel shuttle to drive customers downdown Concarneau.
the location Menu could have been more varied
Beautiful interiors. Simple and stylish. Wonderful view. A luxurious boutique bolt-hole with a fantastic chic but friendly atmosphere. Truly a gem in a country where one normally knocks a star off the rating to get the genuine one. This is nowhere near two stars. 4 or 5 would be nearer the mark. Oh, and the food and booze were fantastic too. None.
Location was excellent, with very friendly, welcoming reception staff. Room and bathroom both superb - even better than they look on the hotel website. The restaurant is poor. Very overpriced with miserable service and average food. Much better to find somewhere in town, where there is an excellent choice (although this is about a 20 min walk).
The breakfast was superb with homemade bread and jams. It was worth reserving a garage space as the public parking in Concarneau is confusing due to several market days. Easier for a small car though! The room was large very stylishly decorated but the only chairs were not comfortable for "oldies" or for reading in.
very good location and good value for money.
Good position, close to local attractions (market on friday) and restaurants Building work
Great location. Rather noisy outside.
We liked the friendliness of the owners, who made us feel very welcome. They did a lot to make our stay enjoyable
Hotel is in the centre of the older part of Concarneau: very handy for harbour and the historic Ville Close, with plenty of free parking. Room was nicely furnished/decorated and of a good size, on the first floor, with lift access. Ensuite was very good - decoratively and facilities-wise: large shower, hair dryer, plenty of room. The bed was a good size and comfortable - duvet a bit warm for summer. In room access to internet - albeit cable connected and slow - OK for email. We were on first floor at front and with a small balcony - so a reasonable view but with a downside of some early morning noise from cars in/out of parking and tradesmen servicing adjacent restaurants/bars. Noise exacerbated by need for ventilation in the hot weather as there was no fan or air conditioning. TV was modern TFT but had very limited stations and all in French. We did not take the breakfast because we thought it expensive for a continental breakfast. However, there are several nearby places where a range of breakast can be had 30 to 60% less.
good location, good size bathroom & great shower
Staff were very friendly it was so convenient for the town no
Nice Hotel Difficult to find hotel from info on booking form
Central position ideal as we had an elderly parent with us , it was lovely to have home made produce for breakfast Rooms a little on the small side
room very good, bed very comfortable, staff excellent absolutely no tea / coffee facilities, no mini bar so you could not have a drink of any kind whatsoever.
stayed for 2 nights, good family room with nice view. kids enjoyed the pool. 15 minute walk into the center of concarneau.
The location was beautiful. We had a great view of the water from our balcony. The only thing that I did not like was that the bathroom smelled like urine. It wasn't dirty, just smelly.
The location is very nice and the pool facility is very nice, overall this could be a lovely hotel if room facilities brought up to date Rooms very dated and smelled stale, room facilities very basic, no tea/coffee. Seems a little expensive for what it is
Good staff and service, situated near beach and city centre, swimming pool for kids With children we miss the refrigerator on the room
Location. Great sunset views over the harbor on the seaside rooms. Nice enclosed pool where you can still see the sky.We had a two story appt. Great for families. I was expecting a small refridgerator/microwave since we got a duplex, but nope. And when we asked to get one they said they didn't have any. Eventhough the location was beautiful, it is not really close to much. You have to walk a ways or take the tour train to get to the city center where all the restaurants and shops are.
Free parking. Indoor heated pool. I don't know how this place got three stars. Our experience started with an indifferent reception and went downhill from there. Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke (we found an ashtray in the closet). Our room had two twin beds pushed together instead of a double bed. There was no shower, just a bathtub that didn't drain properly and smelled like mildew. No extra towels or blankets. No kettle, so had to venture out just for a cup of coffee, no air conditioning, so on a warm night we had to open the window and were bitten to pieces by mosquitos. The hotel is located on an unattractive little bay, a 10 or 15 minute walk along sidewalks that were minefields of dog excrement. Avoid this hotel, avoid Concarneau!
The room was a good size, clean and with a sea view. The staff are friendly, helpful and english speaking. The restaurant is excellent for regular meals or a special occasion with the food being mainly seafood. We will return.
Location and facilities - plus friendly staff
Particularly liked the situation looking over the port clos ( walled city). Although a little noisy in the morning the view of the port and walled fort overcame this. It was great to walk to the local restaurants.
friendly and welcoming, helpful with our bikes and very good evening meal
Very convenient location. A room was clean and tidy. It was a triple room, although it was obvious that there was no space for three beds and no space for things at all.
The hotel is in a very convenient location for exploring the walled city of Concarneau; rooms are comfortable and very attractively decorated with a seaside theme. Desk staff was pleasant. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, and the local tourism office is right across the street. The only drawback (and it would be a concern for some) is that there isn't an elevator. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the desk, and then again up a flight to get to your room.
location absence of table, too small room, noise from the street
Off road parking No tea/coffee making facilities in room
Our room was on main street, so quite noisey, the rooms are small and so it the shower room. One of the best value breakfast we had on our trip. shower room far to small, a large person could not get into it.
Staff were so welcoming!! It's a simple hotel, very friendly and clean and its location is great (right by the harbour and the historical town centre). Its safe car park was also a plus!
On a fairly quiet street, although a 5 or 6 minute walk to the old town area. One big plus for the room: there were actually towel hooks in the bathroom!! Hard mattress and one of those annoying Tootsie Roll-shaped pillows you find in too many French hotels
Our hosts were always very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was very convenient.
Not a lot. The room was clean but very basic. The bathroom was the most modern part of the room. The decor was very dated. There was a stale or musty smell in the corridors. They charged for parking and access to the car park closed at 9.30pm
Good central location close to old town. Friendly reception staff and good choice at breakfast. Room slightly small but otherwise fine. Larger rooms were available for more money.
Its location in the centre of the town bed was small and not very comfortable - the decor is rather dated
Great location, clean and friendly welcome!
It is good town-centre hotel with all the basic needs and at a very reasonable price. The owner/manager was very helpful. The room was 'compact' but, along with the en-suite facilities, it was perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable. Excellent central location. Good off-street parking. No
Hotel very well run. Staff very helpful and all round excellent hotel No
Location at Pont Aven. Right along the Riverside. Very Good Very friendly Staff.
Excellent hotel and staff. Location is fantastic and Pont Aven is a really pleasant place to spend time. The owner recommended a local restaurant which was reasonable and the food was excellent. Would definitely go back.
Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast service was charming and the food very nice. The owners were warm and friendly.
The owners and their family were so helpful and sociable, the hotel is a good base for beaches, countryside and shopping. There is sailing schools, nice restaurants. all in all a beautiful location. No tea or coffee or tea facilities in room
Warm atmosphere,good servis
The view of the harbour. Expensive breakfasts and small bedroom.
Quaintness and comfort! The hotel bar did not stay open late.... ie after 10.00, it was practically impossible to get a drink in Pont Aven full stop!
Enjoyed the old-world atmosphere of the surroundings. Cosy, clean rooms with free WiFi and a view of the river were excellent. Above all, the entire village was nice and especially enjoyed roaming the streets at night. Seafood next door was OK. Expensive breakfast, we did not take it.
We enjoyed being right on the estuary. The hotel is located at the end of the road to Pont Aven, and, while it is a tourist-y place, the area by the hotel is very quiet at night. The building was charming with its thatched roof and flower boxes. The breakfast was good and the managers were very helpful and pleasant. The Pont Aven area was perfect for what we wanted to do during our visit.
Excellent dinner. The room was described as having an excellent view.In effect the only way to see the sea was to remain standing in order to look through a very small window. The room was so small you could not stand up when getting out of bed.Although booked for two we left after one day very dissapointed.
Everything was first class, food, position, staff.
