Convenienant location and easy to find. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The friendly staff made our stay stress free and relaxing
very helpful staff not enough non smoking rooms
The bed was excellent and I got a great nights sleep. Receptionist was very helpful too. Nothing.
room well proportioned and designed pillows too hard Tv too loud at breakfast unable to read paper
The hotel is very clean with exceptional staff all very helpful and alert, Great for a overnight stop wouldnt hesitate to ue again. wifi should be free, its pretty expensive compared to many other places I travel too.
The location - excellent access from the motorway and into Swansea
hotel staff were very good & friendly, even doing breakfast for 3.0am in the morning.
more non smoking rooms
ease of access and cleanliness of room and bathroom there was nothing to dislike, could do with more tea etc. in room
The room the price the cleanliness . . Staff pleasant and helpful No wi fi in room
lovely friendly welsh staff. Very nice room.Handy for Swansea
Limited parking space
The Executive room was very comfortable, the restaurant nicely decorated and clean, breakfast was nice and there was no waiting. there was nothing to dislike,
The room and entire hotel was very good. The restaurant was very well designed. The free continental breakfast looked to be little more than bird seed and water. The charge for a cooked breakfast was ten pounds. Therefore, I did not bother with the continental breakfast, and paid four pounds for a cooked breakfast in the local cafe, two minutes walk away.
Everything about our stay from start to finish was absolutely superb. We will definitely be returning. Only issue is the parking. However this was quickly resolved by staff moving their own vehicles.
Decor of hotel, helpful and friendly staff, room size and facilities, comfort, bathroom, restaurant - very good breakfast, location. Parking not sufficient for guests and it wasn't clear where we could park nearby. If they can't improve guest parking, they just need to give a map of where to find the nearest car park.
Very chic decor Better lighting over desk
Very comfortable, clean room of good size. Had a feeling of luxury about it, yet was a standard room. Is ideally istuated in the town centre and very good value. Was a good £10 cheaper than the Express Holiday Inn nearby, and also included continental breakfast. Despite my asking about it, the member of staff on duty at reception seemed reluctant to let me park in the secure underground car park, instead suggesting I parked in the small open car park immediately adjacent. (I was a late arrival at night.) With two other cars already in this very small car park it was difficult to manoeuvre into the only space available.
When I booked online with my debt card I assumed I had payed. But when checking out I was charged, and told that the online booking does not take payment. This has been the first time I have encountered this and it is confussiing when treying to budget.
Friendly and pleasant staff, clean and modern hotel room with lovely bathroom and excellent restaraunt and bar. Our hotel room was very warm (even though it was cold and wet outside), perhaps the rooms could benefit from air conditioning units.
good location clean and comfortable staff very helpful and food in the restaurant was very good
Very good value for money.
Evening meal was great value and very nice. You really could not knock it. Breakfast was awful. It was a buffet and generally nasty, not what I was expecting after the lovely evening meal! Bathroom smelt of mould too. Apart from that the place was clean and above average..( I wouldnt want to stay more than one night!)
Particularily nice & friendly staff
Good service and value for money Food was excellent
Decor was brand new and service very friendly.
Well appointed room and good value for money TV did not work very well - poor reception/sound
service, very lively atmosfhere in bar and restaurant, quiet in the rooms location, a bit busy on a round square
The staff were great, the breakfast left a little to be desired in that there was not the obvious option of fried eggs, and the tea in the pot was only enough for one cup, and it was only just warm!. See above.
Rooms were clean and modern and the breakfast was good No hot water at 6.00 in the evening. No access to the hotel when we arrived on Saturday afternoon (having been told that the earliest check in was 2.00 we were surprised to find a note on the door at 3.00 saying " back in one hour"). We found somewhere to have a hot drink at the nearby national park but had quite a lot of time to kill which was not ideal after a long journey.
breakfast was brilliant could n't get telly to work on 2nd night.
Friendliness of staff
The B&B Is spot on excellent clean rooms with excellent service.
Helpful friendly staff. Good breakfast. Not having a restaurant means having to go elswhere to eat evening meals, as a business customer that's a bit of a nuisance.
Very clean bedroom & bathroom, in fact pristine. Good sized bedroom and en-suite, well laid out. Very neutral, tasteful decor. Very comfortable bed. Excellent parking facilities. Beautiful rural location. Excellent breakfast. There was nothing I disliked about the guest house. I selected the guest house for the location. I would have preferred a hotel with lunch & dinner on the premises.
Very well looked after thank you - really good breakfasts!
informal and friendly atmosphere nothing
Staff, room and facilities were good. The heating made clanking and dripping noises when it came on.
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful - they were excellent. Having stayed in hotels throughout the world, the staff here were the best! If service is valued above the condition of the hotel, it is recommended. The hotel is shabby, tired and well past its sell by date. The entrance had been damaged by storm or high vehicle contact, the rooms needed complete restoration, the lift is on its last legs - come on, Best Western, provide the staff with the hotel they deserve. If service is valued above the condition of the hotel, it is recommended.
a very pleasant stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, would stay again.
comfortable room Room too hot.
We chose this hotel as a pet friendly policy is in place. No extra charge for pets either! a real bonus. Friendly staff and a full Welsh breakfast to start the day.
wifi good/ check in/check out quick. Relaxing place to unwind after a day on the road Restaurant service very slow but good quality food.
just relax and had a walk on the beach
Staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble, even allowed us to check in early so we could get to the rugby on time! Nothing
The food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Great service. Poor TV picture in room
Very warm and remote None
Very pleasant owners. Excellent views over the valley. Good parking off road outside the cottage. Good walks for dog owners and walkers alike. Sat Nav says you have arrived half way up hill when the accommodation is at the top. The actual signs for the cottages are very small and could easy be missed.
Lovely environment. Returned for the fourth time now. The cottage (Glas) represents excellent value for money and is nice and cosy. We always enjoy lighting the log fire burner. There are walks in the local area where we exercised the dog. Richard is a lovely bloke and will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. Shower and kitchen tap were a little erratic but worked fine after leaving them on for a bit.
Excellent accomodation, vith absolutely beautiful views.
The owners of the cottage are excellent. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful, wonderful people. Area is quiet, green, relaxed, the house is so cozy, interior is just more than you expecting from the pictures. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and definitely would pick the same place when i go there next time.
I would say that the bed mattresses would have to be changed they are quiet bad to be honest. It would have been perfect to have propper loggs for the fire.
The cottage was lovely. The under floor heating was excellent and the I really liked the decor. We normally eat out every evening but we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the cosy cottage. Location was great if you enjoy rural surroundings with the added bonus of a Tesco and Asda just a 10 mins drive way. The cottage could do with a clean lots of cobwebs.
Very homely and comfortable. None
Area in "pub" for relaxing and reading. Food was fine.
Rooms were modern, clean and seems to have been recently refurbished Public areas and hallways seems in need of an update. No bar staff at times to serve drinks
good food fusty smell in corridors & room
Comfortable room , able to take well behavied dog, suitabllity to tour area.
clean, friendly and very welcoming. The english breakfast was lovely. The television didnt work.
Friendly Staff. Public areas are tired.
Our room was right next to a generator or motor of some kind and was very very noisy during the night. I told the hotel staff and they knew but they didn't give us a reduction in room price or anything. Very disappointing for the price.
Pool and sauna. Buffet breakfast Poor selection of Beer. Beer Expensive. Poor lounge facilities.
Good breakfast, good range of leisure club facilities, very pleasant staff Nothing specific, just felt it needed some tlc and some cosmetic touches... there were letters missing from the sign, decor in the corridors needed touching up.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.Loved the 'Loft' where breakfast was served. Minor points: Filling in the cracks in the bedrooms and ensuring the towels don't still have mascara residue on them. Other that that only that it just wasn't long enough!
Please refer to the customer questionaire, completed & left with the Hotel
The bed was very comfortable Noise from deliveries whish woke me at 0500 and the lack of a comfortable chair
Size of room and heating - esp in adverse weather Poorly lit at front entrance at night and no gritting in car park
Overall the hotel is good value The room on this occasion was far too hot and the WiFi did not work in the room but did in the bar area so no real problem for me.
The leisure facilities.Covenient location. Overall service given.
Overall this hotal is execellent for the price. Staff are friendly and helpfull. No bedside lights in room. Had to switch lights off from the enterance door
Food could be better
Good wifi - $5 for 24 hours
the proximity of facilities such as Bridgend shopping centre and reasonably priced restaurants and public houses. The cooked breakfast! Under done and very greasy. As a lover of the cooked breakfast I had to find alternatives on the menu for the second day.
Overall a very pleasant hotel very well priced No critism at all
Comfortable bed, swimming pool on site, food excellent Only continental breakfast included. Room had budget feel about it.
The Spa is great! Staff were friendly. Food was good. Didn't like the strong smell of the carpet cleaner in the room.
Great food, lovely staff, friendly atmosphere. Could not get S4C or BBC Wales on the TV which was a pain. No mobile phone reception (which could have been a problem)
Very nice lodge with excellent ammenities. We were very comfortable there and wished we had stayed longer. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Nothing
Beautiful surroundings, nice restaurant, warm welcome. The door of the balcony does not shot. When we left, the receptionist was short with us.
The food in the bistro was excellent. The size of the rooms was also very good with easy access to all the hotel facilities. The hotel is placed in a fantastic location in the Brecons too, some fantastic scenery.
staff were always eager to help in any way. facilities were on good order and clean
The spacious room and bathroom, the pool and the linen napkins at breakfast. Wine list prices very reasonable. The noise from the extractor outside our room.
The food and service in the bistro was very good. All in all the staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. Very professional. My room was not very nice. It was a standard room (no 12). The lighting was very poor with a white bulb above the bed and yellow bulb in the sitting area and was far too dim for a large room with only 1 french door. The bathroom smelt like a hospital. The carpet was cheap and nasty. The phone was covered in dust as was the bathroom radiator. However I was told they are in the process of upgrading the rooms starting with the superior. I suggest you check with the Hotel first.
Excellent food & service, attentive and efficient staff, first-rate location, very good gym and spar facilities No
Convenience for shopping and the Harvester next door is an added bonus
I liked the fact that is was very quiet once in the rooms. Clean and comfortable. I enjoyed everything. I tried to find a Premier in Swansea on the Internet but did not see one and then, when I traveled through Swansea I noticed signs for one. I wished I could have stayed at a Premier Inn there too.
Clean, helpful staff Bed too soft, was like sleeping on a water bed, I had to get up at 2.30am and sleep in one of the child beds
The staff was courteous, the breakfast was good. The room was clean, warm & the lighting good over the mirrors. The bed was comfortable. There is a good night guarantee, and a single woman travelling alone policy-single women are not placed on the main floor. Wifi is available for a cost and there is only a shower. The hotel was expensive for the area, a much cheaper price was available than what I paid. There was no luggage rack in the room. My main concern was that there was no phone in the room, on questioning staff, they told me that they do not put phones in because everyone has a mobile. I was an overseas traveller and did not have a mobile, my family was unable to contact me and I was concerned as a solo female in a room that I would not be able to contact reception if I required assistance. For this reason alone I would not stay at this hotel again, however the hotel is good in other ways. Another thing, I transferred to the Premier Inn down the road in Pencoed and they had a different wi fi provider.
Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were very nice the food was also very good, would definately use again.
Clean, nice staff , good breakfasts, family friendly, Entertainment/shopping centre within walking distance. Easily accessible and central to visit Swansea or Cardiff. Little bit of early morning traffic noise but not too bad - Sunday or public holiday ok. (expected due to location)
The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfy and the staff very helpful especially at 6.30am when we were having breakfast
The standard of service which was first class. Staff top line and so helpful and chearful. Price of the breakfast
good location easy access from motorway none
Excellent helpful staff
convenient, clean and comfortable no where to eat breakfast except room. Found the directions to hotel unclear - thout it better to state in text actually in services - we are not used to staying in these hotels and went around the place first as it says hotel in Bridgend
the bed was extremely uncomfortable, very saggy.
it was comfortable,the room was kept clean and the shower good;the bed was comfortable;
Room clean and comfortable, Pub within walking distance for evening meal.
Location of hotel, close to motorway The shower in one of our rooms didn't work, the the cleanliness of the carpet left alot to be desired.
The shower in the bathroom was very good Room was extrememly cold on arrival. Bed uncomfortable, rolled together when sleeping. Needed extra bedding and pillows. Luckily they were available in the room. Disappointed that you could not drink the water from the bathroom sink. Had to purchase water to make a hot drink. Remote did not work due to no batteries in it. But receptionist gladly provided some once we mentioned what had happened.
Was an okay hotel
Helpfull staff, Generaly good level of cleanliness. Lack of car park security. Lights not working, no cameras. Car next to ours was broken into. (not the first according to police.)
The bed was large and clean The room had a bad smell, the receptionist who was a gentleman from South Africa was very rude to my cousin she was the one who stayed there and I was the one who paid.
Very friendly staff and good sized room for price more milk cartons in room
The location, food, and willingness of all to help. Only thing was the parking and daily charges for parking.
Cenral location A bit dated
It was very central for the trains and buses. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. nothing
Close proximity to centre of town. Poor service from the hotel staff.
Size of the room/quality of the bed Old fashioned and a bit of refurbishment would be nice (there were holes on the bottom sheet.
Staff very friendly Bedroom and particularly the bathroom needed some TLC
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel . Our room was huge and also had a sitting / TV area. It was spotlessly clean, well decorated and comfortable.breakfast was very good and so was our Saturday evening meal. They do a curry night on Friday and Saturday - excellent value , choice and taste. It was all washed down with the House red wine which was very good . Nothing amiss.
handy for town and country side
good room rate. The room was vey hot and we stayed on a saturday night and it was extremly loud and noise outside due to the hotels location but this cant be helped.
Welcoming, warm and friendly. Breakfast was a bit bland as are many hotels these days.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good Continental Breakfast. Internet Access Code in Bedroom did not work.
Very nice facilities Helpful proprietor None
very friendly and informative owner who was on hand all the time.He was very helpful with regards to my internet problem Lovely quiet room which was very well equipped. Excellent choice for breakfast
Rooms were excellent & service couldn't be faulted.
Excellent facilities, better than a 3 - 4 * hotel. The owners were very friendly with excellent customer care. A great & huge breakfast Only 1 bad thing, it is next to a road and a railway line, but that would stop me from staying there again.
Excellent location; very hospitable owners; very comfortable, well equipped room; excellent breakfast
Very pleasant owner, cleanliness, facilities in the room, excellent breakfast (but not the croissant). Would have preferred a shower and for the breakfast to have been included in the price
Every thing was good N/A
Wonderful service, lovely breakfast, very accommodating and friendly, very clean - exceptional None
The hospitality, comfort, the Welsh Breakfast, space and ease of parking. Also the help and assistance regarding exploring the local area. Nothing
Friendly owner, clean comfortable rooms, suitability for mountain biking, climate control in rooms, quality of furnishings and fittings No wi-fi in rooms as advertised, no thermostatic mixer for shower
Afan lodge is a very modern hotel excellently placed for mountainbiking with friendly helpfull staff and acosy atmosphere. Top marks>
Mountain Bikers well catered for with secure lock-up.
Staff were great from moment of arrival to departure, nothing was a problem to them
Quiet, warm & comfortable room with excellent shower/bath. Great outlook. Main feature - open fire, was not lit once during our 3 day stay - disappointing. Evening meal was mediocre.
Service, support for mountain bikers
Excellent food, staff and facilities Bed not very comfortable
Staff verry helpfull with good local knowledge located right on the mb trails the food was lovely Slow internet no shampoo
Excllent setup, ideal for mtb in the area. Staff were very helpful in all aspects, particularly with guidance on trails in the area. No bad points to speak off.
Completeness of visit... The hotel bar and restuarant were all avialable Would have prefered wireless internet
staff and food quality
Helpful staff voluntarily organised a snack for me due to my late arrival. Large, comfortable bar with friendly service. The car park was full and about 100 yards away from the hotel, but not a major problem.
Ambiance, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. No Worcester sauce!
Friendly staff, secure parking very good location.
Well located in central Pontypridd. The quality of the rooms was excellent - of that generally found in high standard hotels. The duty manager was exceptionally hard working and very caring towards her customers. The only negative was the disturbance that the late night clubbers managed to create outside the hotel at 3 am on Sunday. If your room overlooked Market Street then your night would have been very difficult. The club is in the basement of the hotel, thus the hotel must make a decision - hotel or club?
Clean, comfortable, friendly service, good quality facilities, free wifi and top of the range tv. Room too hot, at least for me, and I was not able to shut off or turn down the heating. Tv so hi-tech that the controls were invisible and after managing to turn it off I had a problem getting it running again.
Good location No paring at the hotel. But public parking just in next street
room was clean and confortable, the welshcakes were a lovely touch
The room was exceptional food was excellent and all staff very polite and i will definately return some noise outside at throwing out time
The hotels design.. loved it. The room was amazing, in fact I have now decided to change my own bedroom. Cold plates at present, not good. Hot food should always be on hot plates.
Great hotel good staff and facilities, spoilt by late night disco which went on until almost 3am
Room was very nice with an excellent spacious bed Parking facilities poor
Excellent friendly staff and service. Tv complicated-ish to work. Could not find a thermostat for room temperature.
The Scenery and how easy going and nice and helpful all the staff were!
Location was brilliant for good views. Breakfast was lovely. Was allocated a twin room when a double room was booked.
size of room the fact that breakfast was charged as an extra and not included in the rate.
The setting and the excellent rooms The decorating in the Coach house was not of the highest quality
The setting on the Hillside and the peace and quiet that went with it. Food and staff were excellent and bed very comfy. Although bed was comfy was expecting room to have a little extra due to it being a deluxe room. Couldn't tell difference from what would be standard room.
Beautiful location with outstanding views. Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Will definately visit again in the summer.
Slight smell of damp in the room and the extractor fan did not work in the ensuite bathroom (problem due to no window either)
It was convenient to the location that I was working at
Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.
We arrived very late and the hotel staff made it very easy for us to get to our rooms etc etc. The full English breakfast set us up for the day. Beatiful setting for a hotel just 25 minutes from Cardiff yet in the heart of the valleys.
