Good town central location, secure undercover parking and good dining facilities.
small spanish town location made it very interesting overnight stop in a beautiful region
The hotel was in the cetre of the village and accessible for all the limited amenities The pool was in an adjacent building .
Very helpful & friendly staff. Superb corner suite overlooking lake & mountains. Good shaded car parking area under trees. Excellent standard of food & dining facilities offering good value for money. Disabled guests may find dificulty with steep outside stone steps leading to reception but lift is available on request connecting to lower level maintenance area.
The location is perfect, the food in the restaurant is fine. The staff is friendly but a bit slow. The worst ever is that there aren't non smoking rooms. Each room is stinki because the smoking. The curtains, the blankets and everithing. One missing thing yet the minibar.
This was a two night stop over on a motorbike tour of Spain. The hotel was good value and had a good a la carte restuarant. The main hotel was abit noisy as it does cater for children in a big way so dont expect peace and quite If I had not expected so many children, the noise would have been upsetting, but your site made it clear that there would be children and that was reflected in the rate.
Great value buffet evening meal. excellent pool.
We have absolutely no Spanish, I am a strict vegetarian which is difficult to explain and awkward for a hotel but the staff were kind and helpful and even spoke enough English to make things easy. All the staff were professional and on request suggested wonderful local, places to visit. We had a lovely time.
Location by the lake with views of the mountains and it is on the road between France and Spain so very convenient when travelling north or south To access the restuarant you have to go outside up and down steps. Not suitable for people with walking problems. The decor is rather dated
lovely buffet dinner and breakfast, great views over the lake, good facilities - all in all a lovely place to stay no
Dragging tables and chairs across the floor in the (dining area) under the room late at night kept us awake.
Nos has gustado mucho las vistas. El desayuno bufet también está de calidad. We did not like at all the treatment by one of the waiters (=older guy) in the restaurant. First course was delicious, but second course was truly disappointing (= entrecote had definitely been baked a second time, making it dry and tasteless). When we pointed this out to the waiter, he treated us like we had no clue about cooking/food in general and offered 'if we'd rather had a piece of chicken or pork with fries instead, because we sure would love that', implying we were not accustomed to eat out. When we declined his offer, he offered us a 'vino dulce' as a digestive, commenting 'if we had ever heard of a vino dulce before'. The evening menu is cheap, but that's no reason to treat customers this way.
Good hotel for an overnight stay. With children who like a big pool it's a great place for a day more. Choice of a good restaurant or cafetaria. Weekends it's crowded with Spaniards and a lot of noise.
The hotel is in the old part of town overlooking a little square and our room had distant views of the nearby lake and hills. The building itself has lots of character, the (superior) bedroom was minimalist with a lovely little balcony and modern bathroom. The lady on reception was helpful and spoke good English. The only real fault I could find is that at the time of our stay, we could not have breakfast at the hotel (I think there was a problem with the kitchen?...as there was a nice little breakfast room downstairs). We were told to go to a bar five minutes walk away, which when we arrived was nealy full and was quite smokey. A nice hotel but a bit pricey for what you get compared to other places we stayed at in Catalonia especially as Pobla is not really a very touristy town.
The hotel itself is pleasant - it is an old house which has been converted into small rooms - and its period charm was lovely. One of the members of staff we dealt with was great; really polite, friendly and smiley. Upon arrival, we were met by a very surly woman who could barely muster a smile. Despite the entire hotel being empty, we were placed in a room on the 1st floor, overlooking a dark gloomy street. When we asked whether it would be possible to change rooms, we were told that we would have to pay a higher price that the one we had opted to pay via booking.com - even though we had already booked the best room class, according to booking.com! Agreeing to this, we were then made to wait 30 mins whilst the floor dried, before Ms. Grumpy allowed us to move into another room on the same floor. We would have preferred to have been in a room higher up in the building, for the views, and to escape the traffic noise on the busy in-road to the town.
Friendliness of staff quite basic, but fine
