We have stayed here four times and always eat in the restaurant as it is extremely good. I have the impression that the hotel is trying to save money, each time a light bulb has been missing in one of the lights, the air con did not work on cold and it was very hot and humid during our stay so we did not sleep very well. This time there was no bathroom light so it was very difficult to shower and shave.
Distance from town within walking distance, convenient parking lot, restaurant opening hours
We chose the hotel because of it's position and knew what to expect in advance having stayed in a Campanile before. Handy resturant with good basic food, not quite as much choice as on previous occasions. We felt the room was rather 'tired' and needs a bit of a face lift!
Nothing The bathroom had a rotten wooden shower panel and we had a cockroach in the room
It was a pleasant little chateau with clean and fairly smart rooms and an excellent bathroom. The entrance drive to the chateau was blocked with a table and chairs forcing guests to drive around the back like the staff!
Our second stay. Beautiful building and setting. Lovely staff. Brilliant food. Very relaxing.
Very comfortable and friendly hotel in lovely surroundings Lack of mirror in bedroom and hairdrier
1. Since it is not possible to extend Wi-Fi to all rooms, please consider having a dedicated space with a table and chair (+scanner/printer?). 2. The TV channels provided are not up to the level a guest expects. Satellite TV please.
Atmosphere and peace No
The hotel building and grounds are beautiful, as is the location. The rooms are very comfortable and well-appointed. The restaurant is very over-priced and serves bland tasting nouvelle cuisine. There seems little imagination in the presentation - we had a salmon dish, fillet steak, and guinea fowl all served with the same garnish and plate decoration (including a red wine poached pear)! The breakfast, at 12 euros is also very over-priced and not very special. If you stay here, go out for a coffee and croissant for breakfast in one of the surrounding villages, and eat dinner in any of the great restaurants in the area.
the attractive building, grounds and pool area. the dinner on the terrace was very good. no
We spent 5 weeks in France and the "Chateau" was clearly the best place we stayed at. The standard of accomodation was first class, the food superlative and the service far exceeded our expectations. Everything about the place was 5 star!! If you go to this area of France you must experience this. There was absolutely nothing not to like!!
nice surroundings / terrace dont't be fooled by the picture on the website... the room you are getting is nothing like it. We booked a renovated room on the first floor, but were first put in a old shabby room on the second floor in which I could't even stand up staight (although I'm not unusualy tall). After complaints we got another room on the first floor... but still not something which deserved the label renovated. It was very small, there was only one small closed, and the bathroom clearly dated from the 70-ies or so (altough it was relatively clean). The restaurant is acceptable, but nothing special, and definetely pricey of you compare value for money. At the first day, the bread at breakfast was old, but the following day's it was okay. I cannot understand the otherwise so positive reviews of this hotel on the website. This hotel desperately needs a real professional managament, and should not lie at the time of booking about the room you are realy getting upon arrival.
well placed surface of the room
convenient location for what we wanted but may not suit all not very soundproof
The staff were very welcoming, the food in the restaurant was very good and it made for a very enjoyable stay The bedroom was too warm
Evening meal A little tired
