Prime location for those not insisting on staying at a crowded beach, wonderful views and garden, very clean place, highly recommended
Quiet but very good Location with excellant views and comfort and a very relaxed atmosphere
The staff were brilliant, any questions you needed to know about the area they knew straight off. Also the hotel is in an absolutely stunning location.
professional set up, peaceful setting Hotel was good but there are few other restaurants in the area
We were welomed when we arrived, the restaurant staff were very good and most spoke a little English, so ordering was fairly easy. The food was really good quality and cooked to perfection. The views of the lake and mountains were superb, very peaceful and relaxing. Good pool with plenty of loungers, again very quite.
We enjoyed the tranquility and comfort of the hotel.
interior pleasant, excellent views, pleasant staff, quiet surroundings, we liked the new pool limited menu
Helpful staff On the last morning, although we had to leave by 9.15am and we came in for breakfast at 8am no hot breakfast was available
The receptionists were nice This is a business hotel in a good location. It lacks character and comfort. The dining room was dismal - badly light and dark - might feel OK for diner but not a good space to start the day for breakfast. Service at breakfast was pretty poor and I was kept awake by the piped music which they insisted on playing until midnight. I would spend my money elsewhere.
The whole experience was excellent, the location was exceptional. The food was of high quality, the staff very pleasent and helpful. We stayed in the renovated wing which was very modern and very stylish. My other guest was in the older wing, which was not of such a high standard, they were slightly dissapointed in the room. Breakfast was not early enough on our departure day.
The hotel is set amidst orange and lemon groves, interspersed with mango trees. It is beautifully restored and modernised with every available comfort. We found it a treat to sit outside on the balcony in the evening and smell the orange blossom. A little difficult to find.
we loved the location and the views and also the terrace where we sat outside to eat. The inner feel of the hotel was very tasteful and calming. the only thing we didn't like was that one of the staff was very surly and that it wasn't possible to get any food or drink during the day
Absolutely one of the nicest rooms we have ever visited anywhere. The bed was especially comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the restaurant excellent. Full breakfast was included. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful.
very comfortable rooms in this well designed conversion of a very old building in a stunning location.
The decor of the hotel and rooms was beautiful, very French Chic. There was a lovely terrace to take in the views. The pool was lovely, a little away from the hotel down a pebbled path lined with lavendar - perfectly secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel. Breakfast was the best we'd experienced in Spain, so much choice and everything so fresh! The staff reception were very nice but we found the service in the bar and restaurant terrible. We arrived for a drink and placed our order and then the barman proceeded to take two phone calls, left the bar twice, came back with coffee cups and continued to dry them before serving us-we were not impressed. As I was pregnant I asked for a juice and he looked at me blankly and said they had none-eventually when pushed he mustered up apricot juice. Service in the restaurant was very slow as well & the menu (in English) was really badly translated (eg. beef 'tips' with sauce(??). Although the (std) rooms were lovely (a little on the small side) the bed was literally tiny, a little larger than a single bed so hard to get a good nights sleep!
This hotel has a superb location, with very nice views and large pool but at some distance from hotel which is not always convenient. The breakfast and diner were good but a little expensive. I recommend to have diner in a maresqueria in Torre del Mar. Most guests were international not Spanish. We missed a minibar in the room and bar service at the pool but we could be helped at the hotel bar, even during the day. A lounge on outside terrace would also be nice to enjoy cool(er) evenings. Not enough TV channels (no Eurosport for instance). Not a hotel to stay with smaller children (not much to do).
Fantastic setting. We had a beautiful room on corner with views to both sides..stunning! Bed and bedding luxurious...wanted to stay longer! Very attentive staff.....our wedding anniversary was made extra special.Would definitely return. Breakfast staff could have been a bit friendlier.
A lovely hotel, quiet and beautifully situated on a hillside amidst orange groves. The staff were attentive and helpful and the rooms are very well furnished and clean. Would recommend for a long or short stay. The hotel is a little remote, 4 miles from Velez Malaga so a car is always required. The restaurant menu is somewhat limited and does not cater for simpler snack meals. However, quality of food is good.
new hotel, nicely built, good atmosphere. away from the crowds of malaga. our daughter like the pool the most. good restaurant. a little bit hard to find - the signs are not good. if you see the one just off the high way read the 2 km as 5.
Helpful friendly staff, had to cope with around 20 mountainbikes needing safe storage overnight. Modern, clean room and easy to find location. Everything was fine, except the road outside was very noisy, we did stay on a Saturday night so would imagine it's quieter in the week.
Very friendly helpful staff, very nice room, slept well, location great for us.
The young man on reception was extremely bright, friendly and good humoured. I also enjoyed the high roof terrace with marvellous views but maybe I wasn't supposed to be there. For a single room you don't expect the best on offer, but compared with others the room was dull and had no outlook.
Gentleman on reception very nice and helpful and spoke excellent english. However notice said breakfast would be served in room but was not. It was served in dining room.
Hotel Dila was absolutely fantastic! The couple who worked the reception (and who I believe are the owners) couldn't have been more pleasant, nice or helpful. We checked in and they gave us suggestions for places to have dinner that turned out to be amazing. They also have free wireless and a computer available for free use in the lobby, as well as free coffee in the mornings. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel!
well located, good value for money, very pleasant helpful staff
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very modern clean and tidy. Parking in street not easy, but free at the moment. I understand street parking charges start this year.
Nice clean hotel with modern facilities and a nice pool in a beautiful location We are English and were unable to read rules and the manager was unable to relay correct information to us. Consequently we fell foul of a number of rules including not having our room cleaned, towels changed, loo paper supplied and missing our breakfast. The manager was too laid back and appeared unbothered.
The location and views from the room and pool were spectacular. Dinner was home cooked and lovely. Breakfast was a little on the small side and, as noted by the other reviewers, acess is a little difficult owing to the very steep driveway. I wouldn't recommend taking a low bodied car!
Free wifi, personal service, beautiful location Very remote unless you have your own transport
Very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the valley and the village from our bedroom patio door. The owner/manager was extremely helpful and the food was excellent.
comfortable and spacious room. great view. lovely gardens and pool. vrey clean and tidy difficult access from road. though not much they could do about it easily.
a most attentive and friendly service in English. the driveway down to the hotel is awfull and unacceptable - and leaving the hotel and entering the paved road is outright dangerous due to bad sight.
