Pros: The location was great particularly for exploring The Gorges du Verdon. Very unusual but just a great experience sleeping in such an old building. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent and helpful. Food delicious. I would definitely recommend and return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service was friendly and the chateau was great
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice restaurant for dinner and a very nice and warm host. The Château was purchased by his family more than 60 years ago and was beautifully renovated and redecorated stone by stone during 25 years.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A unique experience to stay in a renovated hilltop castle after a day's drive around Verdun Gorge. Room was very spacious and had modern bathroom. Dinner in restaurant was excellent as was breakfast on the roof terrace.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The castle is beautifully located, the room was spacious and comfortable. Giyom, the owner, was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is serving very good food!
Cons: It’s difficult for people who are not young to carry luggage from parking lot to the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is a real medival castle! It stands and located on the top of the cliff, with a wonderful landscape view! The room was wonderful, the breakfast was good. We had a very good dinner with a very nice atmosphere in the beautiful restaurant of the castel.
Cons: We liked everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, something different, surrounding village, little touches and food quality.

7.1 Good
Pros: Stayed in a family room. Facilities were as expected for a 2 star hotel. However, the restaurant at the hotel was superb. Top notch cuisine, very nice menu, heavy on game dishes, yum. The hotel is situated in a perfect starting position to view the Gorge from the south side.
Cons: Basic facilities as expected. Could have been a little cleaner. However, reasonably priced for a family room.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast would be nicer if ir started earlier and access to the bar later in the evening... but I totally understand that ir was a quiet time and the hotel and people were great. Thanks very much.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant was very good, the staff was really nice. Parking place for motorcycle was important.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room size - came with plenty of beds. Free parking. There's quite alot of history that comes with the place. Cute town.
Cons: Honestly, a bit overrated for the high price point. Also right above a restaurant and can get a bit noisy with the windows open. No AC. Limited parking up front, so you might need to park at the lot a few minutes away (not the biggest deal though). Mostly I think overrated for how much they're charging.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful, the location was great for a visit to the gorge. Parking was OK, Restaurant was OK.
Cons: The bed was hard, the shower had a slight musty odour. We thought it expensive for what was a basic room with no facilities to speak of apart from the shower and toilet. You are paying for the location.
Le Bois Faé - Trigance - Building
3
9.4 Excellent (56 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Le Bois Faé in La Bastide, you'll be steps from Verdon Regional Natural Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Pros: The location is really awesome. There was full moon that night and lots of fog because of the rein. Looked simply magical. Cats are also ready to be there for you 24/7.
Cons: It's hard to write such things as they might harm the business, but as a small business owner myself I know that small improvements have huge impacts on quality most of the time. Soooo: 1. This B&B was the most expensive and least worth it from four we went trough in our week long trip to Provence. Definitely not worth the price. 2. Breakfast is below acceptable level and having in mind that for non-southerners their breakfast looks like extra light snack - it was really bad. Coffee was served in a thermos. I'm not a food expert, but I can at least tell when bread and cake being served are a day or two old. One piece of butter. I understand that lots of food expectations when we speak France come from movies etc. but if you don't serve a croissant right from the oven, you must at least be decent enough to not serve old sweets or buns in plastic bags. 3. The room was quite comfy but the low ceiling makes it feel claustrophobic. Also there are lot's of small "spirituality" thingies like candles, but there were no matches. Probably because you're not allowed use open fire inside the room. Not sure. 4. What you're really not allowed to use (since it's marked PRIVATE) is a children play zone in the yard (with a slide, trampoline, bikes, cars etc.). It is understandable that host family wants to have something for themselves, but if you have business and invite people with children to stay at your place, me and my wife couldn't understand how would we explain our three year old son, that he's not allowed into the area where children of the host's are playing. Probably they'd allow children of their guests in there, I'm not sure, but then why the warning about privacy - it makes the guests feel not welcome. 5. It looked like the hostess was trying to avoid us the whole time of the stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A really nice family run b&b. I would definitely recommend it if you're traveling in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice family country house where you can rent a private room at ground floor with its own entrance and shower. All furniture is made of wood and a sink is marble made, which makes you really feel being in country side. Everything was very clean and the host lady was super nice and friendly. They have two pretty cats you can play with. The location is quite close to mountains and therefore the weather is very fresh there, was very pleasant to sleep.
Cons: As it is a country house close to the real fields and animal, there is an enormous amount of flies outside. We were very careful not to let them in to the room itself, but they are ridiculously disturbing during the breakfast. Also the breakfast itself is always the same food everyday although fresh (French breakfast).

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The welcome we received was warm and friendly. The hotel did a great breakfast and the room was a good size with access to a bit of garden in front of room with seats and table for us to relax in. The lady who ran the hotel booked tables for evening meals at a local restaurant and at the castle. The location is fairly remote, but a good base to explore from. Nice pool and hot tub. Bathroom was great and the hotel had beers/wines etc for us to purchase.
Cons: I liked it all but think the hotel could do some type of simple evening meal given the size of the breakfast room and the fact that the hotel is quite remote.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, very welcoming, nice view, great pool. It's quiet, nice and you feel like home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this little hotel - especially as our room had its own private area next to the swimming pool and the manager and other staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It is just a few minutes walk to the centre of Trigance which is a beautiful hilltop village. There was an excellent breakfast in a shaded patio area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable specially the terrace and the swimming pool
Cons: The shower didn’t work as it should
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was the best I ever had in french accomodations (including tasty Salami and jambon), a nice selection of marmelade, regional honey, scrambled egg, fruit salad, juice, ... The lady from the personal was very friendly and helpful and gave us also tips for planung our days (hiking, canoeing). She also organized us a taxi to drive us to the start point of the Blanc Martel hiking tour (shared group Taxi for a shared price). Nice outside area for breakfast. Nice pool. Great view. Very close to village.
Cons: Rooms were a little small but OK for 4 nights. No fresh (bakery made) bread at breakfast. No fresh fruits apart from (very tasty) apricots on two days. (Please note that we were however very satisfied with the breakfast - see "What I liked")
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are travelling around Europe for 6 weeks and this is the best place we have stayed at. The town, views, hospitality, and breakfast were amazing. It is not every day you get to have dinner in a castle.
Cons: Everything was perfect.

Cons: The hotel is seriously short of staff. No room service, nor walk in dinner after 9 pm. Staff untrained and unfriendly and stressful.

Pros: The staff were very friendly and the hotel was close to all of the goings on.
Cons: Thought it was a bit pricey, given breakfast wasn’t included.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed only for one night, but I loved the place. The atmosphere, the hotel staff, food,- all perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location for visiting the gorges. The room had a beautiful outlook over the countryside. Facilities were good and our meal in the restaurant was excellent. Nice small town with a choice of restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A first-class welcome on arrival. An excellent room of comfort and cleanliness. Wonderful breakfasts. Delicious dinners. Perfect location for exploring the region
Cons: I liked everything!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location was close to all walks within the gorges du verdon
Cons: When we arrived we got told they had an issue with our room and had to down grade us to a basic room as our room was not available for some reason. So instead of receiving a double bed and balcony with mountain view we got an attic roof size room with a very small window, no fan, two single beds, water ruined ceiling and peeling paint. It was a very uncomfortable and disappointing stay, we got told the hotel was fully booked with no explanation to why our room was not available so we assume they had double booked and our room was occupied so we got pushed into an attic. Will not be staying here again!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very pretty
Cons: The rooms had no tea or coffee making facilities and as the restaurant was closed no way of getting a hot drink
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, very clean, great night’s sleep, good home cooked food and a lively fun village
Cons: Nothing to fault for a hotel in this price bracket
Hôtel Le Panoramic - La Palud-sur-Verdon - Building

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Love the location, good parking on site and amazing views!!
Cons: The bedroom was a bit small and shower was tiny. But you don’t stay at Verdon Gorge for the hotel room, just a place to lay your head because it’s one of the most spectacular places you can visit! Amazing. When I’m back here, I’ll stay at this hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Hotel and Staff...and the Breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful location outside village with great views. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
6.3 Good
Pros: It has a nice view. The amenities were nice. The woman who waited on us for breakfast with the black hair was very nice and accommodating. The younger gentleman who checked us out was also nice.
Cons: The bed was horrible. It was so hard. Also the pillow was not a proper pillow. It was just a cylindrical puff that had no support. The last time I slept in a bed like this was at camp when I was a kid. After 2 nights on the bed our backs are very sore and we probably need massages to alleviate the pain. The shower is small and you and not able to turn around at all. This is more like a hostel than a hotel. It’s a cold and unfriendly environment and not at all what the reviews make it out to be. The older woman who is there doing the day was accommodating to let us use the phone and to help is when we arrived. But once we asked to use the refrigerator to store our wine, she became cold and unfriendly. The next day when we asked for the wine to enjoy a drink outside before dinner she was also cold and unfriendly again. We can only assume it was because we were not purchasing their wine they had for sale. We would not stay here again. We would spend the extra money to stay at the Hotel and Spa des Gorges du Verdon.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good place to stay in La Palud sur Verdon. The family room was clean and spacious, and the view was beautiful. The hotel also has a nice swimmingpool and game area to spend the evening.
Cons: The breakfast was ok - I would have liked to have more savoury food options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. the whole stay was great (the view and the cleanliness).
Cons: For the breakfast, I think the only thing missing was a bit of salty foods (ex: eggs and cheese). in the bathroom, I would suggest mounting the showerhead so you dont have to hold it while showering
