Pros: Beautifully decorated suite in a family home. Very friendly and helpful family who went out of their way to drive us into town so we could get dinner as it was raining and they recommended a lovely restaurant. Simple but lovely breakfast provided with freshly made crepes, fresh bread and homemade preserves.

Pros: The house is beautiful, with vintage French decor. Fabien and Christine are fantastic hosts, offering an evening meal that was amazing and great value. The swimming pool was superb for the kids to cool off. Ho esty bar for much required wine and beer after a long drive. Breakfast again brilliant, highly recommended!

Pros: Beautiful house. Really comfortable. Quiet. Lovely landlady.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here as it was a midway stop-off between the UK and Switzerland. The house is really quite lovely as is the owner! We were made to feel very welcome. The bed was especially comfortable, the place is very quiet and the view over open fields was a nice change for us.
Cons: The nearest restaurant is about 15 minutes drive away but that's the price to pay for staying in the countryside!
7.9 Good
Pros: Madame was very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Breakfast was excellent with home made preserves
Cons: It was about 10km to the nearest town for dinner. The restaurant that Madame recommended was excellent though

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel very special. Didier who was able to communicate better in English went out of his way to make sure our stay was just perfect. Fantastic gardens also.
Cons: Just a small point. It was a very hot couple of days. The fan in our room in the roof space was a desk fan and the front switch did not work and had to be operated by plugging directly into the socket. A better free standing fan/cooler in the room would be ideal. Also we tried to get our son into the same accommodation but we could not the online booking web portal showed that this was full. Yet we were the only guests there at that time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: New hotel. Very well arranged. The owner was more than helpful! Will stay again next year for a longer period!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic. It was included in the price and was far better than we expected (including fresh eggs from the hens in the garden). The owners took care of our bicycles and put them in their garage.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot praise this beautiful place enough. From the moment you arrive the location, garden, room and hosts are amazing. The view from the room is fantastic with manicured gardens and fields. The attention to detail is incredible with delicious marshmallows and a keep sake on our arrival. The hosts were so lovely, giving us tips and advice on the area. Breakfast, well what can I say. It was amazing, freshly produced pastries, freshly squeezed juice and conserves and produce from the garden. The French bread(eggy bread) was a real hit. As you can see we loved this place and cannot wait to return. Well done.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners went above and beyond to make every day pleasant, wonderful, comfortable, and memorable. The rooms are fantastic and fun. The food is incredible; we had half a dozen people on a work trip and they made a remarkable meal (including options for colleagues who are vegetarians, etc), plus they are warm, engaging people you will want to get to know. This was an excellent experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
Cons: I loved everything about this hotel! It is amazing. The only negative would be if you are in Pas-de-Calais and you do not stay here. That would be terrible for you!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here in January at the start of our journey first to Austria and then Switzerland and again on our homeward journey. Lillers is less than 10 minute drive to the autoroute and about 50 minutes from Calais ferry port so it is a convenient stopover for our drive from and to the north west of England.  It is a substantial house and grounds with secure overnight parking. It dates from the late 19th century and originally belonged to the town doctor. Our host Emilie was friendly and hospitable making us welcome and looking after our comfort. She has a keen interest in design which shows in the stylish refurbishing work with modern twist which sits well with the classic architecture and furnishings. Breakfast was all good. A very pleasant start and end to our winter holiday.

Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness of Matilda the owner, nothing was a problem, even posting my glasses back to me that had been left in our room. Helped booking restaurants and making suggestions for visits. Matilda also owns a restaurant just around the corner from the B&B which we had the pleasure of eating in. The food and service at the restaurant was great, but unfortunately the restaurant is only open a few days per week,.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host, great facilities, good quality bedding and towels with the added bonus of a private sauna! We loved this place.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like. Might consider a small fridge in the room for guests to chill a bottle of wine.... had we been staying more than 1 night we would probably have appreciated a glass of beer/wine in the room as the lovely facilities, including comfy seating in front of a fire would encourage that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and gardens. The room is spacious clean and comfortable. The host was very helpful and friendly. The fresh bread, croissants and homemade jams for breakfast was superb

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a little gem of a place - not that it's little. We met the manager's mother who was involved with the fantastic interior design, really original and quirky and delightful. Breakfast was continental and plentiful with facilities to "do your own thing" too if you should so wish. Great areas both inside and out to hang out and relax. We were only staying for two nights, using it as base to explore the Canche valley, but stayed for three. Breakfast, truly continental and plentiful with unlimited coffee. Great value.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous room! Plenty of space. Beautiful bathroom.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy. The Hypnos is only two star and this is reflected by separate night entrance and no bar facilities. Nevertheless, all is explained and tea/coffee in the room and a drink dispenser in the patio/terrace. The accommodation is very reasonably priced, as is the continental breakfast. The room size is on the smaller side but again hardly unbearable given the price/location/friendliness overall. The lounge reception area is very comfortable and all the team are friendly and welcoming I would definitely return .
Cons: Hard to fault at the price so nothing to add.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and room, nice cosy room
Cons: The wifi in my room was very poor

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A lovely huge chateau property in a lovely setting, beautifully decorated and really near to the motorway. I found the gourmet restaurant a bit pretentious / overrated, pretending to be at Michelin Star level, which it clearly was not, although the service / food / presentation was very good indeed. Regrettably the wine list, although reasonably comprehensive, contained only a handful of "half bottles", which for a single traveller like myself made the choice difficult. Definitely something that needs to be looked at...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with fantastic food and parking and walks for our dogs
Cons: Na
5.0 Okay
Pros: Looks good lit up at night
Cons: Some of the rooms not clean Tennis courts covered in moss and mud! No chance to play on that!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere and setting, bar and choice of restaurants. Food and service in the gourmet restaurant were excellent, winelist fabulous
Cons: The setting and lighting in the gourmet restaurant can be improved as well as pricing of both rooms and restaurant. WIFI needs serious upgrade
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully refurbished old house with new extensions in matching style, all set in large grounds with immaculate gardens. Choice of 3 dining rooms with different styles and prices. La Distillerie, where we ate dinner, was excellent. We took the precaution of booking ahead as there appeared to be no other eateries within walking distance, and this paid off.
Cons: There was no kettle/tea-making facilities in the room, or more basic alternative to breakfast at 22 euros per person. Breakfast was served in a delightful setting, but seemed overpriced for what was on offer.
6.3 Good
Pros: Lunch in the Robert II was excellent
Cons: Chateau a little tired, restaurant the Distillerie was dissapointing Service in all restaurants fair
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel grounds. Very helpful staff. Delicious food in an elegant environment.

Pros: The owner was very helpful, the room lovely, breakfast was served in a beautifully restored cellar area and was a great start to the day. Parking was easy and secure. Great Chambre D'hote.
7.1 Good
Pros: The owners were very helpful and cheerful, in spite of the language barriers! They were especially kind for being considerate with a handicapped child in our party.
Cons: The views and ambience of the farm house was lovely to look at, but much of the premises was private and not accessible for paying guests.
La Cascade - Hauteville - Building

Event facilities at this bed & breakfast consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are all a little different, but they were comfortable and all had large windows. There is a nice breeze most times, and the rustling of trees is lovely. The shower is nice and hot and the beds are comfortable. The owners are wonderful people who are welcoming and will extend every courtesy. This was a very relaxing, easy place to stay.
Cons: If you travel with heavy luggage -- as we did for a work trip -- an elevator will be sorely missed. The location is a bit far from some options, like food on Sundays. However, neither of these is the hotel's fault and a little advance planning will result in a very enjoyable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spot very relaxing great for fishing
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Although the restaurant was closed, the chef came in earlier and prepared a set meal for us to have after arrival
Cons: Being so tired, we were offered a downstairs annex room which we accepted, unfortunately there were very loud refrigerators or something going on and off all night in a joining room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host Very helpful and informative Would stay again
Cons: Great location Very clean. Food superb
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and nice atmosphere
Cons: Main meal could have been served a little hotter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful little hotel in a lovely setting
Cons: Owners very friendly, set by a lake very tranquil
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lady hwo welcomed us and really runs the place was corteous and willing to accommodate our wishes at every point. The continental breakfast had everything (croisants, bread, coffee, tea, jiuce, cereals, ham, cheese). The room, the corridor and stairs, everything was in perfect order and extremely clean. The terrace with an overview of the pond and the surrounding trees and bushes was a perfect place to unwind after a long and hectic drive from the Netherlands through Belgium to "La Cascade".
Cons: The more or less improvised dinner that was offered was reasonable but could have been better, certainly if there would have been more time between our same day reservation and arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location, the food, the owners. The room was very clean with a view of the lakes. The food was wonderful. Breakfasts are continental, exceedingly fresh and with home made jams. There is a wonderful chef who makes fresh food with local produce.

6.7 Good
Pros: The location was ideal as a stopover on route back to Calais. The grounds either side of the driveway and lake were beautiful and there is a friendly horse in a field next to the drive The building itself is lovely and has obviously had some restoration work to keep it looking good, and was spotlessly clean and tidy. The breakfast was simple (bread, pastry, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and cereal) but perfectly fresh and delicious, with as much coffee/tea and juice as we wanted. The bed was comfortable and the room large and airie with a small TV. We stayed two nights and the room was freshened up for us after the first night. On arrival the owner was very helpful and suggested restaurants for dinner. He also told us about the interesting history of the Chateaux and how it came to be in his family, after that we only saw him at breakfast and again at checkout. The gateway onto the drive has large old wrought iron gates that have seen better days - but contribute to the faded grandeur of the Chateaux. They are easy to miss and not very well signed.
Cons: It was very much just bed and breakfast. Although there was clearly plenty of space, it was sparsely furnished, with no shared lounge area to sit and relax. There was no option for drinks outside of breakfast other than the two sachets of coffee and two teabags (no creamer or milk) left in our room. Another B&B we've stayed at had a lounge area with an honesty bar where residents could help themselves and leave a note of what was consumed. This was then settled up on departure, and something similar would have been ideal. We stayed during some particularly glorious weather and it would also have been lovely to have an outside seating area in the grounds or near the lake with some sun loungers or chairs to enjoy the sunshine. The breakfast room was sparsely, but functionally furnished. I assume this doubled as the games room as there was a billiard table pushed to one wall that was covered with a board and table cloth. There were also some empty wooden boxes that looked as though they should contain games - but we found nothing to play and entertain ourselves. Our room had a small TV, but it was too far away from the bed to watch. There were two formal chairs inthe room, but there was plenty of space for an extra sofa to create a comfy area to sit and relax which would have been nice, and meant we could comfortably watch the TV. The bathroom was spotless - but the free toiletries were just two small bars of soap and two small sachets of shower gel - nothing as luxurious as the grandeur of the setting would suggest. The whole place is very much geared to being a wedding reception venue - and the owner and his team were setting up a large marquee while we were there. The B&B felt like a sideline to fill occupancy and generate some extra revenue during the week nights. The general area, whilst convenient for Calais, wasn't the most quaint or pretty of French villages. There was nothing very close by to walk to so we had to drive out to go to dinner.

Pros: I like the flair of the castle and the gentile service provided by the owner

Pros: Fantastic nature surroundings. Real vintage mansion, greatly refurbished. Very pleasant staff.
Cons: WiFi coverage in room number 4 is a joke. Too close to a highway for a real peace and quiet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large room decorated with fine taste, large bathroom with large windows overlooking the tall trees in the park, quality breakfast served in elegant serving pots and cups, everything oozes simplicity and elegance. Very comfortable, extremely quiet. Allez y les yeux fermes say the french! Highly recommended. Eat at jardin d alice.
Cons: I really liked everything. Its a very pleasant place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing - the owner of the Chateau was charming and made sure everything was to our liking. Having breakfast in a Chateau built in the 1800's was something really special, not something that you experience in any other hotel? Our room was spacious with tall windows facing large trees and as it is Autumn they were changing color from green to gold. Just like a painting. Cannot say enough about out stay in this Chateau - like living in a piece of history with all modern conveniences to hand.
Cons: Not a thing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beatiful location, beautiful grounds. Everything was wonderful.
Cons: There was no sign on the gate.

Pros: Good breakfast in lovely old farm kitchen type, with various local eats. You chose from what was presented rather than a menu. The location for Agincourt and Crecy battlefields ideal and the amazing old farmhouse means you cannot describe it in the bonus question. Add a box for 'Ancient'.
Cons: Despite arriving between 4-7pm there was no sign of life and we only eventually guessed that an annex to the main building might be our 2 rooms. Note that neither double bed splits so I slept with my son in one for 3 nights which was not ideal for either. The absence of any hot water until the morning of the first day was a nuisance but this was rectified. Note no one at the farm speaks English and the French of my son and myself was put into some action. Why the lady of the house only appeared once to shrug about the hot water, was very odd. Also no facilities for tea or coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in a good location close to the battlefield. Really good breakfast
Cons: Little more information about eating out in the area

Pros: Beautiful building and great breakfast room. The owner was very friendly.

Pros: The property is a beautiful old French house on a working farm in a lovely sleepy peaceful village. It didn’t smell like a farm on our visit in October, not that we would have minded anyway. The property has a lovely large courtyard for easy parking. Very well decorated and maintained throughout. Good size private area with comfortable room and separate seating area. Functional bathroom with powerful large shower. Fast free wi-fi. A very nice portioned continental breakfast laid on as well. The owners were very welcoming, friendly, relaxed and attentive and who were extremely helpful to us for our visit. We really enjoyed our stay and could not have asked for more. ps. Out of courtesy we contacted the owners to let them know our estimated time of arrival (in French) and were warmly greeted immediately when we got there.
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Very friendly owners great breakfast in a working farm.

Pros: Beautiful surroundings, lovely room. Staff were friendly and helpful (despite our limited French). Breakfast was delicious.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: If you are looking for accommodation in this area you are probably visiting the site of Agincourt, and really, you wouldn't stay anywhere else. The property is essentially on one edge of the historical battlefields, and the information boards in the area give you a very good sense of the location and scale. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and private, and something different being in essentially a working farm setting. There is no dinner service, which we were aware of, so we ate on the way. But there are a number of small towns within 5 mins drive, and Fruges is ten minutes away and big enough. Antoine and Pascal were both very nice, and served a lovely breakfast. We are very glad we visited the area, and stayed here. Although most people will be here for the historical significance, the surrounding area is beautiful, we loved the drive from Agincourt on to Hesdin, and then east into Arras.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with fresh products such as fruit and croissants. The home made jams were the best I’ve had. The location was rural and very tranquil. It was close to the site of the battle of Agincourt. It looks like they are building a new museum nearby so we will have to return in future. Besides our room we had use of a sitting area which was nice for the extra space.
Cons: The only problem we had was a water leak coming from under the bathroom bench and across the floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was particularly good. The fresh strawberrys were a lovely addition. The breads were wonderfully fresh and totally delicious.
Cons: The rain!

Pros: Bed really comfortable, had a very tasty home made evening meal. Breakfast, croissants and bread really good. Tasted like they were fresh from the boulangerie. Room looked out on a pretty well kept garden.
Cons: The bathroom, I had a shower about 4 pm and the shower was lukewarm, heating and hot water came on later. Bit of mould on the bathroom ceiling. For the price this wasn't much of a problem.

Pros: Quiet secluded location in a small village. Beautiful rooms around a private courtyard. Great breakfast with home / local produced items. Access to full kitchen including usual appliances.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location on a nicely converted farm. Good value for money and a very friendly owner.
Cons: The only thing was that we had to go into Arras (10 mins by car) to eat as there is nothing in the village (not even a baker’s!)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful garden and lovely light breakfast
Cons: Having to check out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and property well situated for access to Arras
Cons: Check in at 18.00hrs is a bit late. It is not immediately clear where to make contact when you arrive i.e., no bell at the entrance to No 25. In fact, there is an intercom at the entrance to what we subsequently found out is the gate to the car parking area but nothing there to indicate the gate belongs to L'Aubain.

Pros: Lovely property and a good location if travelling to and from Calais.
Cons: Eating breakfast in the main house felt a little uncomfortable.

Pros: Very friendly hosts. Comfortable room and a brilliant breakfast. Each morning we had a different choice of meats, cheeses and bread. A great location for exploring WW1 sites in the area. Location also very safe and peaceful, and a short walk to a very tranquil British war cemetery.
Cons: Quite an early check out, but understandable due to hosts' work commitments.
