Although I only stayed the one night, the hotel was a perfect location near the station and centre of town.
The hotel was next to the train station which made it very easy for us to transport our luggage. We took the Glacier Express this day, and the next day were on our way to Innsbruck and Salzburg. Great location.
The location near the station was very convenient, and we found the hotel to be very smart and convenient for local trips. N/A
Very pleased with the room. The entrance is very two star. The reception area is also mean for 4*. The room kettle should be fitted with a Swiss plug. (Reception immediately provided an adapter but that's not the best solution). Could the road maintenance people outside the cafe next door be told to provide a temporary walkway. Dragging cases over builder's rubble is not the right image for your new 4* guests.
We loved the hotel. It is first class. It is a great place in Chur.
Location, just steps away from the main train station and the shopping area. the pillows were not so comfortable.
Close to train station. Delightful breakfast. Very clean. Modern bathroom appliances With great shower. Modern interior design. Switzerland can be pricey
The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, yet is not impacted by noise from the station. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was very comfortable.
Convenient location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff No. Everything was fine
Good Service and value of money
We only stayed one night but were very happy with our room, which was smart and comfortable, and with the location, near the railway station and near the town centre. Breakfast was good Nothing!
Quiet location in old town. Stayed in spacious new room with wonderful walk-in shower!
We were given one of the "new rooms", which turned out to be a lounge and separate bedroom. The lounge area had a bed-settee and a small kitchen area (although we only made use of the fridge). The hotel is situated in a very good position in the Old Town, but is only a short walk for the New Town and Railway station and other transport facilities.
Easy walking distance from the train station and a delicious breakfast.
The breakfast was very good. As soon as something ran out it was replenished. We are not used to smoking being allowed in hotels in Australia. Even although there was none at all in the rooms, one did have to walk through the foyer which was very smoky. We are very surprised by the number of people that smoke. Just amazing. Australia is very much advanced allowing no smoking in restaurants pubs workplaces etc
location, staff, breakfastroom tv is really very small and too high up
The hotel was central in the town of Chur
Hotel is charming, clean, quiet, and easy 5 minute walk up from train station. Surrounding old town district offered nice shops and excellent restaurants.Staff friendly and helpful to english speaking guest. Great find for a quick trip.
Nice room, great breakfast, nice bar, friendly staff
position in old town- views room was very small not much room fro 2 to move about
It is located in a quiet and aesthetic part of the old town. The carpeting is ugly and so is the smell of smoke in the bar, which permeates the entire hotel entrance. You don't get a very positive first impression to what is otherwise a wonderful hotel.
Attention to detail, warm atmosphere, friendly, polite, efficient staff.
Beautiful and cozy hotel close to the slopes. Hotel bar with live music and fireplace. Great Spa. Excellent food. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and always ready to great you with a smile. Expensive, like everything else in Switzerland. CHF 800 for a double room is definitely pushing it. Anyway, if your pockets are deep enough, enjoy the experience.
The pyrimid structure was unique. The hotel was clean the staff was wonderful.... the decor in the hotel rooms seemed a little outdated but again it was super clean and organized.
Fairly good value. Not a bad location being about 20 minutes walk from town. Good, safe parking underground. Very basic with no air conditioning. The latter is very important as I would recommend not staying during a hot weather spell. There is no way to cool the room without opening the window at which point it's too noisy.
Close to McDonalds. Clean, nice, comfortable bed. Stored our lactose free milk in a refrigerator. No wash clothes wee provided.
Hotel does not let customers choose the currency for the payment. They convert CHF to foreigner's currency plus the exchange rate 3%, and force you to sign. After you get the receipt, it has a statement: I accept the total amount above and have given choices of currencies for the payment.
Excellent breakfast, good location.
helpfull people at breakfast Floors dirty, no vacuum cleaning. No fridge or safe in room. We were asked to pay for all stay at check-in.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, smooth check-in/check-out Parking is a bit difficult (not enough parking spots)
breadfast is good
Close to the Town A bit noisy because of the trafic, and missing a fan in the room
The room had a balcony which was nice. There are no facilities that are avaialble in other ibis hotels like iron, etc. The bed and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The staff were uncooperative when asked for any help. The balcony was not clean at all. Overall the experience was worst among all the hotels in switzerland.
very relaxed stay in Arosa. We also really appreciated the Arosa all inn card which allowed to use cable lift, boats on the lake, bus etc...for free during our stay the outside of the hotel and the restaurants were very outdated. the breakfast was too basic for a 4 star hotel.
staff was very cooperative and nice. view is beautiful. sheets where poor and unpleasant.
Great location for skiing, the new SPA is a treat after skiing the whole day. We stayed in a double room connected to a single room for our son, it was a very good setup Tiny TV, the ceiling and lamp trembled each time the guests in the room above walked, quite expensive for the value.
Spa on the 4th floor, 4 different restaurants to choose in the hotel, very friendly and helpful staff noisy rooms, cold bathrooms (no heated floor -> ice cold bath tiles)
The location is wonderful, staff is friendly and it is just next to the railway station.
Location just in front of a nice pond and by the skislopes It was very difficult to find a restaurant inside the hotel and the concierge would not help us booking it. The lady at the hotel just by the entrance was terrible.
The hotel is family run and this showed as it had a great homely atmosphere, a real nice change from the usual international business chains. Nothing was too much for the staff, always helpful and ready to assist. The hotel also has a great Chinese restuarant.....not too many choices of dishes but what there was was very authentic and delicious. I would definately stay again at the Post Hotel. I would like to see kettles to be availiable for the rooms as this makes it much easier when travelling with small children.
As I pointed out to the receptionist, The Stern is not worth 3 stars - it should have 4! We have stayed in many 4-star hotels that were not nearly so charming and pleasant as the Romantik Hotel Stern. The waitresses were very friendly - a little too much so. It was overbearing but they meant no ill.
Very little. Hugely overpriced for a tired hotel, which is in need of total renovation. We booked a superior double room. If this was superior, I hate to think what a standard room is like. For the same price we stayed in a 4* hotel in central Rome with luxury marble bathroom. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel.
Well located in the old town of Chur. Our room was in an adjacent building, fourth floor, charming and spacious, open to roof timbers.
Attractive looking hotel Small room size. It would have been helpful if the menues were also in English.
Location in old part of town-parking available-helpful staff- nice to have a radio Lighting in bedroom-too dim to read-also surprised that not energy saving
Nice furniture in room, great breakfast, helpful staff no lift for the rooms in the building across the street. We knew this in advance and we only had to bring up the suitcases one flight but it was the only negative.
Privately owned,a mix of older & younger staff all trying to please. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Quite well situated for the old & new town.
The room was very pleasant. It was very clean and the hotel is well looked after. It has a nice quiet position with car park. I think that for a four star hotel the room could be provided with a mini bar. the breakfast was v disappointing - no bread!!!!
Warm welcome and helpful staff. Restaurant is charming but none of the three dishes that we ordered corresponded to the menu description. The service was good but the kitchen appeared to be overwhelmed.
big bath tub. location. way over priced! the bed looked like bunk beds put side by side. the TV was the size of a postage stamp. the furnishings remindered me of my hunting cabin. very small room, did I mention it is way over priced!
Great hospitality, superb view facing the mountains No proper ventilation nor air-conditioning at the room
peaceful location, spectacular mountain views, very friendly and informal staff, fine cuisine, relaxing atmosphere, comfortable and clean room n/a
The staff was excellent, everyone from the front desk to the dining room, would do anything to help you. The room was very nice and comfortable. The shuttle bus to the ski lift was very late on the pick up. When it arrived, it was full except for 3 seats (the shuttle bus only drops off and picks up skiers at one point), so we had to wait for the driver to return. It is suppose to run every 30 minutes. We ended up waiting 45 min. to get picked up. There were about 12 people waiting for the shuttle.
We are American and only speak English but the staff was great, very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The hotel was towars one end of Arosa away from the main road and very quiet. Our room was comforatable and very clean with balcony views over woods towards snow covered muntain tops. The mini bar and various facilities in the hotel were free and we liked the bath robes and shoes. The staff were very pleasant and most spoke very good English.
Friendly staff, convenient location, nice views, nice food Pool shallow. Restaurant rather brightly lit for that romantic meal!
Swimming pool, food Hotel documentation in English and German is very good. But I would have liked the other brochures in English as well
Ski and swim in their nice pool
Location Lack of tea/coffee in the roomchoice of English tv programs
beautiful situation and views
courtesy of the staff, cleanliness of facility, free minibar water, beer daily fee to use the small fitness room. in light of the cost of the facility this seemed unnecessary and left a bad taste in our mouth
nice pool, shuttle service (quite long walk to train) housekeeping knocked on my door 3min before checkout time to tell me that its late.
The reservation desk assigned us a room overlooking a mountain brook whose rushing water provided a lovely sleep instilling sound to our partially openned window. They were exceptionally helpful with a load of laundry and retaining our automobile during a two day train trip on the Glacier Express. Naturally, we stayed an additional night after returning from that train trip.
1 Persons room is small, dark and very hot, brown furniture reminds of times long gone.
clean room is very small, bed quality is not good. breakfast choices are limited. it's not a 3-star, probaby 2.5 star
Optimal location, prima parking facilities.
Great view from our attic room (we were upgraded). Big bathroom, Huge vaulted ceiling room with great lighting and with kitchenette. Beds were comfortable enough. Restaurant items were just below average quality at best.
the registration staff was exceptionally informed, helpful and reassuring. they arranged for our auto to be retained for two days while we took a two day train trip. We , of course, stayed at Hotel Chur upon our return. They fascilitated laundry like no other hotel had done. The room was superior overlooking a mountain stream with the rushing water sound very condusive to sleep.k
My first expression when I checked in was a little negative. The hotel receptionist wasn't very welcoming. After I checked into my room, there were a bunch of teenagers who were making a lot of noise right outside. That continued for about an hour. Also, the morning I was checking out, the power went out in my room. I put on my makeup up by window light. Also, the room was musky-smelling and overall not a very good experience. I liked the fact that this hotel was only 8-10 minutes from the train station. I wouldn't stay here again.
close to rail station
Free wireless LAN poor wireless LAN; No hot water
Location, Parking, WiFi Nothing really
