Pros: A very friendly and helpful staff. Even drove us to train station, especially thanks to Kataoka-san who helped us with our huge luggage and guide us to the express bus terminal to Komatsu airport. A simple and nice breakfast offered by the hotel is another plus point.
Cons: Room is a bit small for 5 adults with big luggage. Beds are a bit squeezy for 5 adults.

Pros: The bed is comfortable
Cons: Can't think of any.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay, one of the best I have ever stayed in Japan. The staff are amazing (so helpful & friendly)and the amenities are superb. They even have towels ready at the entrance for guests caught in the rain! Breakfast provided includes good coffee too (A rarity). Appreciate the staff’s kind offer to send us to the station each day. Highly recommended!
Cons: Nothing... just reluctant to leave :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff who were always ready to assist with anything. The size of the room was larger than any we have had in Japan so far with three beds (one queen size and two singles), separate toilet and large shower room as well as a powder room. Plenty of room for luggage as well. The addition of a kitchenette and small laundry room was very welcome and I found the beds to be very comfortable. Walking distance to train station (600m) but staff offered to drive us there every time we were headed in that direction. Large supermarket 5 minute walk away. Service was exceptional and I would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value for what we paid.
Cons: Despite being beside the train line the trains did not really bother us. A light sleeper may want to use a pair of earplugs.

kanazawa guesthouse stella - Kanazawa - Outdoors view

9.4 Excellent (394 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Kanazawa Guesthouse Stella in Kanazawa (Higashiyama), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and Kanazawa Castle. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a vending machine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a walk down the street from the main Higashi Chaya area, accommodation facilities were clean and neat plus the owner was great to talk with, giving tips for sightseeing and food, highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bathroom was spotless and shower was good! The teahouse District is literally right 100m away! Shuji is such a great host! He picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. Gave me good tips around the city. The room is very clean. The bus stop which you can use your JR pass is only 5 mins away.
Cons: This was a really nice guesthouse. However the choice of restaurants is a bitimited in the afternoon. Japanese bar or restaurants do not open till 5pm or even 7pm so if you are hungry, you need to go to supermarket to buy food or go to korinbo restaurants. Ths good thing is that you often get fresh take away in all supermarkets here.
7.1 Good
Pros: The owner (a former businessman with experience in Europe) was fluent in English and very helpful to make further plans for my trip. After checkout, he drove me to the bus station.
Cons: I got a room with two bunk beds just for myself. There was hardly any space between the bunk beds which made it difficult to get in bed. There was no shower on the same floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was a really nice and helpful person, guiding us to every place worth seeing or eating in nearby. We were also allowed to leave the luggage at the property for few hours after check out, even though we were travelling in a group of nine and had a lot of stuff with us. Great place, we will go there for sure next time we stay in Kanazawa.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place and owner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such an amazing experience. Our host was so lovely and helpful! We couldn’t be more thankful. I would recommend this place to everyone visiting Kanazawa.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic host! The manager was incredibly kind and helpful, went out of his way to pick us up at the station even though we arrived after the normal check-out time, gave us lots of tips about places to check out in Kanazawa... Communication was very clear, easy and pleasant at all stages. The guest house itself is small and charming, practical, comfortable, sparkling clean, everything we could have asked for. This was the first stop in our trip and remains one of our best memories. Thank you so much!
Cons: The rooms are VERY narrow, we had to put our suitcases on the beds in order to be able to open them — this was not a real problem for us, but be aware that this hostel is more suited to backpackers than to a family with 2 huge suitcases each :) You won't be hanging out in your rooms, but there is a cute living area downstairs, and of course the city!

Pros: The dorm room was tasteful and each dorm bed felt like a tiny hotel room in itself, well equipped with a locker and lovely lamp. The shared shower facilities were quite luxurious. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
Cons: No improvements to suggest. Perhaps have some tea and coffee supplies available - even for purchase - in the common kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best shared hotels I've ever stayed at. Great location, superb shared rooms with bunk beds that give a lot of privacy! The shared kitchen is incredibly well and fully equipped. Clean bathrooms and great showers. This should be the standard all shared hotels should compared against.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Such an amazing place to stay! Cannot reccomend it highly enough of you are staying in Kanazawa! About 20 minute walk from the station, however if you have a JR pass you can get a bus that will stop right outside the hotel. Lovely staff, lovely restaurant and food. Such clean showers, toilets and capsules....and speaking of capsules....they are huge capsules. So much space! I loved this place so much. Will 100% come back when I inevitably come back to Japan...once again!
Cons: Nothing!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: You will not be disappointed. I loved how close we were to the castle and gardens, and that they had easy to use laundry facility. The interior was creatively designed as well. We were so pleased with this hotel and it’s staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the home-away-from-home feel of UAN. We were a large group and was a litte stuck with poor weather. However we were able to settle in to the lounge and have our own drinks as well as the complimentary coffee, tea, juice AND soba noodles. We could wash our laundry which on an whirlwind trip proved immensely useful. The staff were attentive and friendly, beautifully clad in traditional wear. Also the hotel is pristine and well situated. I would love to see more establishments of this kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ladies at the front desk are really lovely and were so friendly, helpful and kind to us and our two yr old daughter. She really missed them when we had to say sayonara. This is a top hotel in an excellent location. Highly recommend staying here.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the modern style of the hotel and the professional treatment by its staff. The rooms are modern hotel meets ryokan and have a mini onsen setup in the bathroom (shower head with stool next to a deep tub and bath salts). Location was easy - we could walk to the castle and gardens, which were one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extra sweet and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and pretty. Loved the bathroom! Having noodles each night was a bonus and the lobby with beverages and places to sit to hang out was really nice-made guests want to be there. We ate there, had some drinks and played cards.
Cons: All good!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really good! Very close to the fish market, a shrine and other tourist attractions.
Cons: A bit pricey!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well designed hotel, modern yet it has much Japanese touch in everything.. Great location...close to castle park and to Ohmicho market.
Cons: No ironing board, I wish the staff provided bit more about the area.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: K's House has a friendly, helpful staff who were lovely. The location is great for checking out many of Kanazawa's sights. Bunks are comfortable and private and everything is very clean. Overall, a great stay.
Cons: Very little to complain about. One of the shower stalls in the third floor was a bit tiny and awkwardly shaped. The pillows were also a bit small and firm. But those are both a bit of a stretch because I really had a lovely stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at K's House Kanazawa was great - staff were helpful and friendly, the common spaces were cheerful, and there is a nice sized kitchen with free coffee and tea. The hostel beds are spacious double beds, so a couple can share, and the mattresses are comfy. Laundry is normally 500 yen (including soap and dryer) but if you spend 3 nights you can do a load for free. The entire hostel is clean and well-run - a great experience!! Would recommend.
Cons: The location is fine but Kanazawa is a spread-out city so it is not super close to the main attractions. We rented bikes from the hostel for 800 yen a day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Family room is very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was my first capsule experience. I can't think of anything that was negative, highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and convenient to all major sites. Super helpful staff members.
Cons: n/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don't think I've ever been to a hostel that was this clean. Really nice hostel, it is really cool that they have capsules with double beds for two people . The staff is very friendly as well :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming hostel and a lot of information available for seeing the best of Kanazawa. Good ground floor communal area away from the rooms with full kitchen to use. The double bed dorms had the right amount of beds so they didn't become too crowded. Cleanliness is kept to a very high standard on a daily basis
Cons: The wifi was poor especially in the evening. The hostel is close to a lot of the things to see but is the other side of the town from the station but that said, it is easily accessible via the loop bus

Pros: The hosts Bungo and C were fantastic and always incredibly polite and helpful. Their curated list of recommendations throughout Kanazawa were great and the ones I tried with my friends always exceeded or met expectations.

Pros: Lovely Japanese style accommodation, great services and position, the host was super kind and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts. Very kind to the soaking wet traveller who arrived and throughout my stay. Ryokan Yamamuro was a good introduction to a ryokan. Bungo told me where I should go to see all the interesting places, including events on the weekend I was staying. Excellent location.

Pros: Comfortable beds, large room. Close to market and everything. Lovely family running it. Incredibly helpful and very friendly. Lovely private bathing area in the basement. Unpretentious and comfortable. Great coffee machine. We have stayed in lots of places in Japan and really liked the people here. Very quiet too. We want to come back.
Cons: No complaints
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a greeting ! The host is taking care of this traditional Japanese house with his mother, and they are both very kind persons. You do not need to worry about what to see or where to eat in Kanazawa, Bungo-san has prepared everything for you... from breakfast places close by or nice restaurants for dinner, to the areas to visit or even the shows to see around, he will guide you and make your stay exceptional. In terms of location, this Ryokan is perfectly situated, right between the Geisha town and the Castle park. You won’t need a taxi or bike there, you can do everything by foot ! The room itself has beautiful traditional Japanese style with a garden view. We had a private bathroom too which made it even better, but the shared bath is great as well (and you can reserve it just for yourself when it’s free).
Cons: Nothing !
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice family run hotel, and the boss speak fluent English to answer all the questions. The location is very good to reach most of the popular spots. Very nice food and tourist recommendation by providing the map and restaurant/cafe list (selected by hotel). The room is really clean and the staff changes the towels everyday. The coffee machine in the hotel is excellent!
Cons: The laundry is not in the hotel. The lodgers should go to the neighborhood to use coin laundry machines.

Pros: Staff were excellent and assisted with great restaurant bookings and touring information. Breakfast was fantastic with a terrific Japanese choice as well as Western. Excellent brewed coffee in the lounge.
Cons: -
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing, going the extra mile to accommodate our early departure from the hotel due to a typhoon, even returning the the full amount for the room in spite of cancelling only in the morning. The breakfast buffet was also really good
Cons: The location is not great but the shuttle bus to the station every half our make up for it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast buffet, perfect rooms and very nice onsen. The place to be for a relaxing weekend.
Cons: The hotel is not so central, but a shuttle bus brings you to the train station from which you can easily travel to your destination.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good selection for BF but all was fresh
Cons: Sent some emails before arrival but tey were not received as BOOKING.COM's email system does curtail emails. VERY BAD of booking.com. So we ended with the wrong room but could solve the issue locally
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great room. Wonderful breakfast included.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this hotel were the friendliest and most attentive staff we have ever met. We are always impressed by japanese staff, but this staff was simply wonderful. The onsen was nice to relax in the evening and the breakfast had something for everyone (especially those who like to have ice cream for breakfast will be spoiled). The hotel is super clean and very cosy.
Cons: We had the smallest room in the hotel, but it still had all necessary amenities. We do find that the two arm chairs and coffee table should have been removed to create a little space.

9.1 Excellent (1,368 reviews)

With a stay at Kaname Inn Tatemachi, you'll be centrally located in Kanazawa, within a 10-minute walk of 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and Nomura Samurai House. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location great - can walk to most sightseeing spots & the staff are friendly & helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is only 20 mins bus/taxi from Kanazawa station (1200 yen taxi fare) but is so close to walk to the Castle, Kenroku-en gardens and the Contemporary Art Museum. It is located half way up a pedestrian shopping mall and conveniently located near restaurants, shops, bus stops and convenience stores. The hotel staff all spoke perfect English and were eager to help in any way. They made us a tour reservation and took care of couriering our bags to the next location. Before we arrived they sent excellent directions to reach the hotel and suggested a blog to read with food recommendations and sample itineraries. The room even had a list of recommended restaurants for lunch and dinner to showcase the best food of the region. The rooms was the most spacious we have stayed in during our Japan visit. Comfy queen sized bed, plenty of space for luggage, space for 6 coat hangers, the window opened for fresh air and we had a lovely view from the 7th floor. The only slight downside was that the bathroom was quite small and had a poor exhaust fan. The hotel also has a fabulous little vinyl music bar in the lobby. We loved the cocktails during happy hour (6-8pm but closed Wednesdays) and the Western style dishes on the menu. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend if you are visiting Kanazawa.
Cons: The only slight downside was that the bathroom was quite small and had a poor exhaust fan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly plus the location near the Kenrokuen Gardens, Kanazawa Castle and Contemporary Art Museum was fabulous. The Music Bar played many great LPs.
Cons: The wifi internet dropped out frequently on 9F.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a very good hotel - our room was spacious and neat and the location is very convenient for Kenrokuen and other sights. The special thing is the staff and their enthusiasm for helping you experience Kanazawa. We used their concierge service to help arrange a restaurant reservation before we arrived, and followed several of their suggestions for places to eat and drink and they were all excellent.

Pros: Great location
Cons: Limited breakfast choice
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, warm, location, staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so friendly, the rooms were super clean and big for Japan. The bar downstairs was lovely atmosphere. The location was perfect too. Can’t say anything bad about it.

Pros: Excellent location, extremely helpful and friendly staff and a fun music lounge.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Murataya Ryokan in Kanazawa, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Murataya is a wonderful place to stay. Easy bus ride from the train station and close to all the things we wanted to see. We had the Japanese breakfast the first morning and it was great. The family ruining the Ryokan was so kind and helpful in every way! Highly recommend staying here!!!
Cons: Everything was great!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was great to stay somewhere that felt like a more traditional and authentic experience, but was still very good value. Excellent location - very close to most of the key attractions. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Also just around the corner from a great little sushi restaurant (Ippei Sushi).
Cons: My first night sleeping on the tatami mats was a little uncomfortable, but I got used to it and it was a great experience! I liked the experience of the communal shower / bath room, but some people might find that a little confronting - you can lock the door so that nobody else can come in, if you feel awkward.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything during my stay at Murataya! The owners are very helpful and nice. Location is great and the breakfast is made with love from them every morning! I felt home!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Typical Japanese Ryokan at an affordable price. They seemed to be very used to foreign visitors and spoke comparatively good English. The Japanese breakfast was very nice (additional cost).
Cons: Nothing major. I had expected a slightly larger shared bath. The walls are pretty thin (as expected in such a traditional accomodation).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice Ryokan with very nice people. Great garden and big room. Very clean and pretty quiet for ryokan style accommodation. Location is very good! Thanks!
Cons: all good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, lovely traditional room and an excellent location.
Cons: The onsen bath was lovely but more showers , especially men's, would have been useful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Strategic location, close to the bus stop and other facilities like 7e, Family Mart and McD (Non-Muslim). Close to the tourist attractions...
Cons: Everything is very good. I just can't taste the traditional Japanese breakfast. The Japanese bathroom is very exciting. But since it needs to be shared, I need to shower early and not be too long. For the future, maybe the owner can provide Halal Food for breakfast and another privacy bathroom for Muslims.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff with good english skills. Super clean and cozy rooms as well as traditional japanese bathtub. Guests are welcomed with a cup of green tea and sweets, also available in the rooms. Sweets are daily filled up in the rooms. Excellent location in walking distance of famous garden and castle grounds. Bus connections to the train station and other points of interest are very frequent, a bus station is within walking distance too.
Cons: The building is made entirely out of wood, which is nice, but it makes it poorely sound proof. Not so good for light sleepers....

Pros: Staff was incredible. I know a few Japanese phrases and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Helped me with travel as well due to the typhoon. Thank you so much. Wonderful room with bath and onsen was great too! Highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for Ryokan especially since we got a room with a tub/shower. Loved the local scenery and the included breakfast was amazing!
Cons: Spa services were only for females and average. In room massages were available for all but it was outsourced and not always consistent service. It’s great to be in a small town but remember they mostly don’t speak English!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property was very accommodating for our dietary needs. (vegetarian and no oil meal for breakfast) They went extra miles to make sure our stay was as great as possible. Very friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff was super nice, breakfast was so good and everything was nice and relaxed
Cons: nothing. simply the best

10.0 Excellent
Pros: To be honest I only stayed one night but it was a good hostel with a nice staff and enjoyable lobby and lounge area. The room was decent size (more than usual) and the bed was comfy. Great shower too.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a 2 person room. Everything was really comfortable, the room was not tiny. The AC worked great and we could make it quite silent (which is not the case everywhere in Japan!), so we could get a good night's sleep. The staff were very helpful!
Cons: The breakfast is not very interesting (white bread with jam).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great bar and staff were friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations of where to eat in the local areas. Lots of shared bathrooms so no need to wait.
Cons: Room was a little small and not enough hanging space in the room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good location, close to main sights. Staff really nice. I had a private room, for one person ok but for two quite small. Bathroom and toilet always free when I needed them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful hotel with kind, helpful staff. The rooms are clean and there are plentiful shared bathrooms and showers to use. The rooftop jacuzzi is awesome. The bar makes a great drink. The breakfast is a little skimpy (no eggs or hot food) but great coffee and some toast to get you going. All in all a mostly great stay if not for the bad mattresses.
Cons: We stayed in a twin economy and the mattresses were literally beaten into a concave shape with springs sticking in your back. If they would get new mattresses for the beds that have obviously been used the most and and no longer have any support or shape left to them - this would be a perfect hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable with a raised tatami area in front of the window. Super high-tech bathroom with all the amenities. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. As an added bonus, there was a self-serve laundry on our floor.
Cons: The breakfast had decent selection but most of the hot dishes weren't warm.

Pros: Quiet and clean dorm. Staff were not very present and shared space/lounge area was not ideal to hang out (more like a reception area). But the hostel was perfect for just sleeping during my stay in the city. So close to the station and very nice neighborhood just off the main street. I would come back!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value, clean, and right by Kanazawa station.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised to see how private and comfortable the dorm beds were. It's the only place I've ever stayed where they have a V60-setup your coffee, so prepare for a good morning cup of Joe! The hotel i just five minutes from the station, so getting anywhere is pretty easily done.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was such a great and pleasant stay. The staff is so nice and try to be helpful even with only a few words in English. I would recommend to include breakfast in your stay if you wanted to experience traditional Japanase breakfast. For us, Europians, it more felt like lunch, but it was super tasty (expect some rice, baked salmon, meat balls, fresh fruit, yoghurt). The location is great and the room with typical Japanese futon mattresses really comfy. And after a couple of nights in Tokyo, the silent night was everything we needed. Definitely reccomend this place!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very welcoming and friendly . Great location in the old town so very atmospheric but a fairly short walk to the gardens and the castle .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was pretty, all the facilities were super clean, breakfast was good and the location was superb.
Cons: There were a lot of woman when I was staying and only 1 shower. The futons are traditional so quite thin. You can only pay in cash so be sure to bring with you.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional Japanese accommodation. The property is located in the Higashi Chaya district which is like going back in time! The room was very spacious and well presented and we were provided with traditional yukata and loose leaf green tea in the room which was a nice touch. The hosts were very friendly and overall it was a lovely stay.
Cons: The walls are very thin and our room was very close to the bathroom so which meant a disturbed sleep.

Pros: Perfect location

Pros: It was raining super hard the day we arrived in Kanazawa. We showed up at Minshuku Ginmatsu three hours ahead of check in and of course the room was not ready. We weren't expecting it, but the owners worked extra hard to get our room prepared quickly. We left our luggage and stepped out to go tour and give them space. When we returned an hour and half later chilled from the rain and praying they'd let us check in early, our room was ready with hot tea waiting for us. We appreciated it SO MUCH. That set the tone for our stay. They don't speak much English and we didn't speak much Japanese, but communication was perfectly manageable and they were always so cheerful and helpful. Every interaction we had was so charming! I loved them so much! The house is not fancy but beautiful in a modest, authentic kind of way. There was always fresh tea for us in our room each day, with more available in the dinning area, if we wished. Yukata were provided and fun to wear. The showers and toilets were very modern and some of the cleanest and nicest of all the places we stayed. When we selected Minshuku Ginmatsu, we wanted to have the feel for a traditional Japanese lifestyle (the closest a tourist can, anyway) and this was absolutely perfect. The location is both great and slightly inconvenient. Minshuku Ginmatsu is a street away from the Higashi Chaya district (the geisha district) which is SUPER cool. However, the district is not all that big. After that, you're about a 20 min walk from what I found was the hub of the things I was interested in: Kenrokuen, Kanazawa castle, and Nagamachi Samurai district. If you don't want to walk, the upside is that Minshuku Ginmatsu is VERY close (a 3 minute walk) to a major bus stop on both the Kanazawa loop bus route AND the JR bus route (which also loops the city. Plus, the JR bus accepts the JR Pass, so if you have one, transportation is free!)
Cons: The one thing that was not very walkable was Kanazawa Station, which is where you will find most of the late night food. And by "late night" I mean anything after 5 pm. Pretty much everything in the Higashi Chaya district closes at five, so if you get hungry in the evening and don't want to go far, the pickings are slim. Overall, I wouldn't go as far to call it a negative. The regularity of the busses made it a minor inconvenience only. It was great being away from the central hub of the city and, given the choice of Minshuku Ginmatsu or a western-style hotel closer to the station, I would choose Minshuku Ginmatsu again. Absolutely. Finally, the Japanese standard of bed comfort is somewhat flat and firm. This is even more obvious on futon. While I loved sleeping on futon for the experience, I have hip problems so after three nights I was ready for a bed again, but with no regrets. :)

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful, location is amazing and it is good value for money.
Cons: Beds were a little hard. Only one toilet and one shower for all.guests.

Pros: Good breakfast, with an effort to suit Western tastes. Free sake to taste. The staff was kind, flexible and available. The neighbourhood was really quiet.
Cons: It was all good. Perhaps a suggestion: I would have enjoyed trying a Japanese breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, good breakfast, clean but best of all location near Geisha area and easy to walk to sights.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay. Very clean and comfy guesthouse. So close to Higashiyama Tea Geisha district, you can easily go there after dark when all the other tourists are gone. Thanks again for the hospitality!

Pros: Our host was really kind. Good breakfast. Cosy place.
Cons: A little bit far from main station but we could use some boles.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, home feel and simple comfort .
Cons: Rooms are on the first floor , carrying a heavy bag would be a chore .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nito our owner / host was very kind. She helped us with directions to a restaurant we had read about on Lonely Planet and then insisted she call to make a reservation for us. Just as well she did as the restaurant was full. She then recommended a restaurant close by which we went to and it was very good. She loaned us two bikes for so we could cycle to the beach. Lovely lady who tried very hard to please. Her English was pretty good too.
Cons: The property was lovely traditional Japanese and spotlessly clean. Would have been nice to have bigger or more towels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Although narrow staircase and small room, the traditional tatami mats, comfortable room, excellent location, and wonderful host made up for it! Highly recommended :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is just few minutes walking from Geisha district in Kanazawa with nice shops and restaurants. I recommend to visit Oriental Brewery for a good beer
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Nice location, with plenty of good food places beyond the fish market and within walkable distances to the main tourist attractions. Love the design aesthetic, pleasantly surprised at how spacious the single room is.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: People who ran the hotel were so kind and helpful. Rooms were small clean and good value for money. Some lovely personal touches. Location is fab and the coffees were delicious. Really great vibe.
Cons: Bathroom could have been bigger but still good for a budget hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a well-run, clean, comfortable hotel in an excellent location. All Kanazawa's main attractions are within walking distance. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is really good.
Cons: Fridge and kettle provided but literally nothing else; no tea/coffee, no cups or mugs or glasses, no spoons, nothing at all to allow you to eat in your room and they clearly want you to buy coffee from the expensive cafe in the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention to details, the hotel was spotless clean but also had fresh flowers in the room and great quality shower products. All staff members were very welcoming and professional. The café they serve on the ground floor was excellent.
Cons: Nothing, everything was wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: room is larger than expected. For the price, we were expecting a hostel size stay

9.6 Excellent
Pros: An excellent choice at breakfast. The onsen was excellent too. The hotel is brilliantly situated for many of the places we wanted to visit.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit cramped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really luxurious couple of nights in Kanazawa, staff were very friendly and professional, some of the best English speaking we encountered throughout our three week tour of Japan. GOod Location as well.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast great! Location great! Staff recommendations for restaurants great! Many of the staff were lovely and tried hard. The onsen was fun! The lobby is welcoming and pretty and the check-in/check-out is easy and pleasant. The free drinks and treats everywhere were a nice touch!
Cons: Some of the staff were not so pleasant. Given how expensive the hotel is, they really should have a staff member who speaks English on duty at all times - given the fact that the hotel was at least 50% occupied with English-speaking/European travelers. Rooms were clean and decent-size. They were comfortable. However, for the price, the decor is really dated and bathrooms were hideous and small. Hallways were depressing and shabby - especially unpleasant to look out on the dirty smoking outdoor area/exit right near elevators. All this was expected based on previous reviews, but when you get the bill - same price point as 5 star hotels in Tokyo!!!! - you realize they need to overhaul. Breakfast room is an example: food and buffet was great - but the set-up is very pedestrian - more along the lines of a lower price point.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent location and breakfast. The hotel has an interesting feature a hot spring that you can use. Also the restaurants in the hotel are very good.
Cons: I feel this was an expensive hotel for Kanazawa and there was not even one English language TV channel which we found odd as most overseas hotels at least have CNN.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, excellent food and decor, clean, staff are friendly and just... use the onsen. Even if you're not the spa-going type, just go for it after a hot day. Highly recommend the Japanese room.
Cons: There is genuinely nothing to dislike. If you want a Western room, you can have that instead. There are other eateries nearby if you want to eat something else.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: excellent location as being Next door to the Kanazawa park and convenient to every sightseeing spots. Spacious room comparing to many hotels in Japan. Added asset is A good hot spring service free for stay guests. Very friendly to children. And Very nice staff, English speaking and helping always. regret not having tried the breakfast but looked very nice from pictures. The hotel also provides bike rental reasonable price but considering Kanazawa is a bit mountainous I didn’t take the gut to exercise one. I definitely recommend it to my friends especially travel with kids.
Cons: All restaurants around the hotel(except those located in the hotels) close early as around 6pm and no nearby convenient stores, made it hard to find appealing dinners for late arriving guests. The hotel is so nice to provide Keurig coffee machine however in accordance with the overall antique style the half manual mode makes the brewing a bit tedious.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great, very big hotel with onsen on site, which was wonderful! The Onsen had everything you could possibly need and the Traditional Japanese Style rooms were wonderful and spacious.
Cons: Maybe the price was a bit expensive and the location slightly less central, but wonderful nevertheless.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location nice staff new and modern room
Cons: pity no breakfast oferred “sold out” was the answer when we asked at check in if we could have breakfast
7.1 Good
Pros: Very clean and the room space is good for Japan.
Cons: They didn’t let us use the cool function on the air conditioning. They said it was a hotel policy but it wasn’t writing anywhere. The room was hot and if we open the window the train noisy was loud.
6.0 Good
Pros: A new hotel purpose built for people like us who need to stay near the station. Well managed and new so facilities good, but straight up and down box like structure . We were stuck there two nights during the typhoon an it served its purpose that is for sure. Staff were very good and the room was spotless and new . The lobby is up on the top floor and is a good example of minimalist functional design. That's a compliment ! Kanazawa is terrific.....even in torrential rain
Cons: The rooms are very small and though OK for two night ( during the typhoon) we would not want to stay longer than that. Breakfast was very typical Japanese which was fine but expensive . If we went again we would walk 100 meters up the road to the station complex where there is huge variety at a far more competitive cost. That includes an excellent " German bakery " if you want something western for breakfast or the train
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staffs are friendly and cleaner is helpful.
Cons: The room is small than the photos, The conditioner is very dirty, That is really a business accommodation, No meal supplied, breakfast is the only outsourced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was extremely convenient - very near to the station and so is excellent for sightseeing. The staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and was a very generous portion. I liked that there was a nice coffee machine as well and there is a really awesome balcony next to the restaurant where you can look over the city which I thought was really nice. The room was very clean and comfortable with excellent amenities and facilities.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Delicious Japanese style breakfast with a great view. Good coffee and tea in the room. Very comfortable bed and pyjamas.
Cons: It was a bit hard to find the entrance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally placed
Cons: Cushions too big
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Easy and close to station once I know where the hotel located.
Cons: Google took me to the wrong place according to the Address. Need position update with Google Maps.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The premium twin room was a good size and had nice decor for Japanese standard. Front office very friendly despite language issues.
Cons: Housekeeping not brilliant. Location - although close to station one has to walk a dark side road to get there. Even the tourist info at the station did not know about this place.
