Pros: It's clean and comfortable at a very good price.
Pros: Great hotel for boarder crossing
Pros: Good accommodation, handy for border crossing which we did early next morning. Breakfast was good, we also had dinner the night we arrived in the attached restaurant and really enjoyed it - good food and good size portions.
Pros: Location cleanliness and size of room. Very good facilities otherwise and helpful front desk. Booked taxi for us to the border
Cons: No heating in room so very cold.
Pros: Possibly the best hotel you will find at the Ecuadorean border. Comfortable, immaculately clean and truly excellent, fast WiFi. Decent bed. The place also has a restaurant next door which is part of the hotel so you are basically taken care of. Highly recommended.
Pros: Just stayed the 1 night, it was comfortable and close to the border, the restaurant was very good and cheap
Cons: Thought the room was a bit expensive for what it was
Pros: Clean. Comfortable. Secure. Hot shower.
Cons: Too expensive for Equador. Indifferent receptionist when we arrived although the other two were better. Window had no view.
Pros: Clean, good WiFi, friendly staff and excellent shower
Cons: Breakfast was awful and they claimed to have parking, but it was public lot down the street. When we left, the lot attendant tried to charge us $ claiming the hotel only paid for the night and we were responsible for the days, the hotel did clear that, but it cost us time.
Pros: The location is excellent and the hotel is very clean. Rooms at the front have natural light (many behind don't), but do suffer from some street noise. The staff are friendly, although do not speak any English.
Cons: Breakfast is slow and disorganised. It would make so much more sense to have a buffet instead of table service. If your Spanish is not good, bring your translator app if you have even a vaguely specific/unusual request (eg. milk with your tea). Also, the rooms were cold (but thankfully the blankets made the beds warm, so sleeping wasn't an issue).
Hotel Espindola in Tulcán provides adults-only accommodation with a bar, a spa and wellness centre and a terrace. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and room service, along with free WiFi. All guest rooms at the hotel come with a seating area, a TV with cable channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a shower. All rooms feature a desk. Guests at Hotel Espindola can enjoy an American breakfast. The accommodation offers a sauna.
Cons: Not very hot water in the shower. Lots of stairs to climb. WiFi was poor to fair in the room
Pros: size of the room
Cons: no facilities in the hotel ( coffee etc). out of fashion
Pros: Very clean and comfortable
Cons: Furst floor is ob the third floor actually and it dosrnt have elevator
Pros: The hotel has the option to reserve parking and by the time when I arrived, very late, it was still available. The location of the hotel was amazing, everything was close. The people was polite at night.
Cons: Parking was a challenge, it is very small and spent various minutes trying to park. The breakfast was not bad but I think they can make it better. The TV in the bedroom was not working and the carpet was a bit dirty.
Cons: Not very warm
Pros: Good location
Cons: Owner locked door at hours convenient to her and took her sweet time to come and open. She clearly felt that we were intruding. Obviously a hotel that is allowed to run down to nothing with rags for towels.
Pros: Great location and very helpful receptionist
Cons: On going building works during our stay which started at around 6.00AM and breakfast was very basic
Pros: Staff were nice and location was good, right on the main square. Rooms are pretty big for the price, and the beds are pretty comfortable
Cons: Place was being done up, bit of a building site feel. Bar area was completely closed.
Pros: I booked for a friend so I gave the medium face for everything to be fair. The place might be fine but the staff were rude and unhelpful per her.
Cons: I got a message from my friend (who I booked and paid for since she didn’t have a credit card) after two days saying they wanted her to pay in cash even though the hotel policy says the room rate is charged PRIOR to stay. I even emailed the property ahead of time to let them know my friend did not have a card and asked if they could use mine for incidentals or she could leave cash deposit. They responded that was fine. Then several days later I hear from my friend, freaking out, thinking she needs to call the police. I’m literally about to hop in a canoe to go to the rainforest so couldn’t help her. She had to pay again to them, then I had to western union her the money she paid me plus the fee. So I really hope booking.com takes this up with the property. The listed policies are not being honored, nor is their word, so this should be corrected before others have to go through this.

Pros: The elements that we liked was central location; large room size; quiet setting; very modern and clean; excellent water pressure and shower; excellent wi-fi. The staff was helpful at check in, and there was free parking on site.
Cons: Elements that we did not like, included: the temperature in the room was COLD, and there was no heater built into the room. While a heavy blanket was provided, the air temperature was not controlled. An unusual money-saving feature, was that the elevator was located between floors, so luggage needed to be carried up and down stairs, so would not recommend for handicapped guests. Also, the free buffet breakfast was skimpy with poor coffee.
Pros: Service was very good. Food was great
Cons: Too cold in the room
Pros: Decent facilities for that town and right in the middle of it.
Cons: Noisy, noisy noisy. If it isnt an event going on at the hotwl with supwr loud music, it's the church nearby with its bells every hour and a song at 6am. Mediocre inattentive staff.
