Pros: We stayed in the the stand alone tower, this is an amazing experience. The view is stunnig! The house is well equiped with everything you need.
Cons: The sauna in the house could be included in the base price. It's 20 eur (a bit overpiced to me; but looked very well)
Pros: Dinner was great and the view was wonderful. Staff was welcoming and nice.
Cons: Everything was great.
Pros: Beautiful nature and sunsets, unique, authentic and homey atmosphere with friendly hosts and homemade food.
Pros: Very nice place - feels like at the end of the world. And great hosts - very friendly and nice!
Pros: All was geat!!! Fantastic place, service, food, personal!
Pros: amazing location.
Pros: Excellent place, kind owners, beautiful view, silence
Cons: ..beds might be slightly larger
Pros: Outstanding location, nice internal design, very friendly and helpful host.
Cons: old but clear rooms....
Pros: Excellent place to spend time. Clean an nicely furmished. The hostess was very nice. Highly recommended!!!
Pros: Small details and things in the apartment (drinks on arrival suitable for alla ages and tastes, big teddy bear to greet our son, coffee filter, games in the drawers, etc.) showing that our landlady is really keen to make you enjoy your stay and pays attention to particular needs of each guest. It was great to have a washing machine so that our son could wear his favourite T-shirt again. I only wish we had used the small terrace more frequently. Very tidy and in every respect well equipped.
Pros: A lovely, clean and cozy little house in the center of Haapsalu. I especially loved the terrace where you can have breakfast or enjoy a drink. Freindly hosts. Suosittelen! Ehdottomasti hintansa väärti.
Cons: We loved everything but there is no air conditioning so in the middle of the summer it can get quite hot.
Cons: Nice house suitable for our stay in Hapsal. Two bedrooms and a small kitchen. Nice host, easy communication and to make arrangement for arrival time. Payment in cash.
Pros: I travelled with my husband, 21 year old son and 78 years old mother. We had a two bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and a small "living room". The apartment was excellent - beautiful and cozy, really well equipped and fitted up with taste. The owner was very friendly. Everything worked out easily.
Located within 1.2 km of Haapsalu Old Town and 1.9 km of Haapsalu Town Hall in Haapsalu, Suvekodu Kroon provides accommodation with free WiFi and seating area. The units come with parquet floors and feature a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, a dining area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and a private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. A fridge, a stovetop and toaster are also provided, as well as a kettle and a coffee machine. Popular points of interest near the aparthotel include Haapsalu Episcopal Castle, Railway and Communications Museum and Epp Maria Gallery. The nearest airport is Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, 103 km from Suvekodu Kroon.
Pros: I loved everything. The location is very good, very close to the Railway station and Bus station. It takes 10 minutes to get to the very centre of the city. The flat is very comfortable, it has everything you need. Please, note that it is located on the top floor, so if you find it difficult walking upstairs, it can be a challenge as there is no elevator in the building. Otherwise it is a perfect flat - a big comfortable room, a big bathroom with a bathtub, a well-equipped kitchen. The view is very nice. There is a shop in the next building. The owner is friendly and speaks different languages. The flat is exceptionally clean ♥
Pros: Very nice well equipped apartment and friendly attitude.
Cons: As we stayed quite a long time washing machine would be nice to have.
Pros: A clean apartment with nice, firm bed. Convenient location if you travel with bus. Rimi very near.
Cons: The place gets really hot in hot weather even though we prevented the sun with curtains at daytime and used the fan when inside.( Because of the sun & warming of the apartment it would be a good idea to have curtains in the kitchen also.)

Pros: excellent breakfast, no need to eat lunch after it. lots of homecooked things. Dinner was totally worth it. It's cheap and delicious and there's plenty to eat. Room was cozy, maybe bit simple, but maybe the location of the place offers so much outdoors. Plenty of birdwatching towers nearby, excellent place to be in the migration time.
Cons: Maybe bit more information about services provided by the guesthouse would be great. Didn't really see anything else than a tourist map in the room.
Pros: Beautiful room and supergood breakfast. Even coffee, what usually is not good in the hotels.
Cons: I liked all:)
Pros: A pleasant and peaceful place in the middle of countryside, close to some of the important bird areas of the Matsalu Bay. One nature trail is right opposite to the guesthouse, though it doesn't reach the shore, and all the nearby shores seemed inaccessible (behind 'private area' signs, or electrical cattle fences). To find accessible bay shores one needed to drive by car (or perhaps bike). Friendly staff, wonderful food at the restaurant (which was not cheap, but the quality was also worth the prices).
Pros: Cosy little hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Cons: The room offered was a bit too small for a family of 4.
Pros: The place is on countryside surrounded by green plains giving a view of castle from roadside. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast gave an authentic Estonian taste (e.g, Handmade cloudberry jam)
Pros: Best breakfast we've had in a long time! Really delicious homemade and more than enough. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Had the the land house to ourselves
Cons: The sun was shining and the room was quite warm. No hiking trails nearby. Nobody present for emergencies in the evening / night.
Located in the Old Town of Haapsalu on Estonia’s West Coast, Hermannuse Maja is right next to the scenic ruins of Haapsalu Castle. The first-floor balcony overlooks the castle walls. Pros: Excellent location! Very romantic, nice and clean room. We had a lovely stay.
Pros: nice small hotel above a pub with decent food ,nice warm bedroom and bathroom, quiet. Parking on site , with pleasant staff
Cons: nothing, it was perfect
Pros: Super cosy attic rooms with a pleasant lounge (and a terrace, but it was cold and rainy while I was there!) Right under the walls of the castle and minutes from lots of restaurants.
Pros: Favorite place I've ever stayed.
Pros: The host is very friendly, gave us many good advices about what to see in the city and where to go. We got an upgrade at no cost to a better room just because it wasn't taken.
Pros: Super nice host and very cozy rooms. We felt like home and didnt want to leave. Free bikes are perfect to explore haapsalu. Stay here if you can
Pros: Kat was so friendly and accommodating despite our late arrival. The property was very calm and well equipped.

Pros: Splendid location next to the Matsalu NP. The bed was not so comfortable but the rest or the stay was great
Cons: The bed was not comfortable
Algallika is a cosy guesthouse in an idyllic location in Western Estonia’s Matsalu National Park, situated directly on the seaside. This country house is surrounded by a spacious garden with a large fireplace and a big swing. All rooms were completely renovated in 2008. They are bright, quiet and feature all modern amenities. You can enjoy beautiful views of the garden or the fields from every window. Algallika also has a sauna and a small spa area. There is over 1 km of private shore available for swimming and sunbathing. The coastline is also ideal for hiking, jogging, horseback riding and rock climbing. Boat trips on Matsalu Bay are also available. The national park is a famous bird-watching area, being of Europe’s largest and most important stopping grounds for migratory birds. Guided bird-watching tours are offered. The Algallika guesthouse is also an ideal place for personal and organisational development trainings or seminars.
Pros: Great staff, a very secluded place, comfortable room.
Cons: booking.com does not have "helpful hints" section here, so just a few minor notes: make sure to stock up on drinks or anything else, the closest shop is far away and the roads are not that great; if you are not sure which road to take, go through Kõmsi (we tried the other roads, they are much worse; take the shortest route as in https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=osrm_car&route=58.6209%2C23.6319%3B58.6850%2C23.5008 )
Pros: outside of prices and breakfast everything is great. a good place to relax and meditate
Cons: The breakfasts are monotonous, prices are not low
Pros: Lovely location , nice place to spend one night.
Pros: Isolated location in the Matsalu National Park which is what we wanted. The bedroom was comfortable and bathroom clean. Breakfasts were generous although without variation over the 4 days.
Cons: A kettle and tea or coffee making facility in our room. We arrived out of season and had to arrange for the dining room to be left open to use the kettle etc. Note when booking there are no cooking areas for guests to use and eating places are at least 10km away.
Pros: The staff was very responsive and kind.
Cons: lack of information about things to do
Pros: The location is nice and quiet, although the road there is not one of the best.
Cons: 1. The guesthouse is 10 km off the main road. Also the nearest shop is 10 km away. Because you could not buy any foodstuff at the house, it would be good to inform travellers of this drawback. 2. Our room was located above sauna. It was otherwise cosy but soundproofing was bad. The noise from below was quite annoying. 3. Minor things: reading lamps were unpractical, there should be a mirror outside the bathroom and a floor towel in the bathroom.
Pros: Perfect ! We were even having our own shower while i reserved a shared one.
Pros: Having a glimpse of Estonian countryside, relaxation, peace and quiet, time to really enjoy time with my loved ones either on the beach, in the sea, in the sauna. A place we would visit again, a truly fantastic experience.
Pros: Hotel was excelent; We could see the sea from window. We had great breakfast. Room was clean and good designed.
Cons: We enjoyed to stay in the hotel.
Pros: Algallika offers a splendid experience of the West Estonian Countryside. We used it as a base to explore the Matsalu region. We enjoyed the remoteness of the location, the throughtful layout of the place - and great sunsets. The option to have dinner at the guesthouse is very convenient as there is a very limited selection of restaurants in the area.
Pros: Guesthouse is close to the see. We do not see the stuff, but everything was great and clean. Nature - apple trees, wood...
Pros: stilly, exclusive open air, very tastefully, feeling that guests are welcomed like best friends.Everything was on utmost grade.
When you stay at Fra Mare Thalasso Spa in Haapsalu, you'll be near the beach and within a 5-minute drive of Haapsalu Episcopal Castle. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 2 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Nice having a play corner for children on the 2nd floor and in cafe. Room was comfy.
Cons: Water aerobics in the "main pool" during busiest hour, like at 7 pm on Friday evening when most guests would probably like to go for a swim.. So, there were some 10-15 people squeezed in the jacuzzi that time. Not to mention very loud music that goes along with the water aerobics. My two year old did not wish to stay in the SPA because of the loud noise. So not very child friendly spa, I would say

Pros: Good for stopover stay, quite and full kitchen facilities. Location is out of town but no problem if you drive and you could park car within premises. Spacious room and cleanliness up to expectation.
Cons: The switch for the room light is outside the room, a bit odd! you have to open the door, which is not very smooth, to go out of the room and switch off the light! Lack suitable table for working, have to go common hall for computer work.
Pros: The location was superb, just outside Hapsalu, only 1200 metres from two good foodstores.Self-catering was fun, and sugar and other basics were provided free.Spacious living room next to kitchen.Great spot for birders, with great spots both south and north.Visit village of Vonnu 7 km south of Haapsalu .There's an idyllic lake,so peaceful.Puise and the Haeska bird tower, where there were hundreds of Barnacle and White fronted Geese are fabulous in May,Puise and nearby Pogari-Sassi on north of Matsalu bay were the best of all.I saw Garganey,Wryneck and better views of Barnacle Geese even than at Haeska.Haeska does have a cafe but wasn't open on 8th May.I also was lucky to get great views of a flock of Ruff, about 8 of which were in their breeding finery(looking like Elizabethan Courtiers!).Amazing sight.
With a stay at Old Town Hostel, you'll be centrally located in Haapsalu, steps from Laanemaa Museum and Haapsalu Castle. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Event facilities at this hostel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very clean (shared facilities as well). Fully equipped kitchen. Off-season so it was very quiet. Helpful staff. Great location. Good price.
Cons: Beds were OK but not very comfortable.
Pros: Clean, good location
Pros: The person in charge did his best to help us with storing our cycles and arranging for our needs to get in and out. The rooms were basic but quite adequate and clean. It was a short walk from the older and more interesting parts of town, including cafes and restaurants. A good bakers round the corner provided us with a carb rich breakfast!
Cons: Not simple to find. The rooms were on a floor above a bowling alley and the hostel sign was not spotted easily. Fortunately, here was not too much noise from the alley to disturb us. Being the end of the season, there was no-one but ourselves in the property.
Pros: The room was basic but comfortable and decent value for the price. The kitchen area was quite good and there was a lounge room that you could chill in. Was great having Tenpin Bowling downstairs too.
Cons: The rooms were obviously quite small and it was quite noisy late at night. Toilet/bathroom options are quite limited for a hostel this size. Haapsalu wasn't exactly the most lively place either!
Pros: It served beer! We arrived on bicycles and it was no problem to store them inside. Quietly sited in the small but charming Old Town, it was a 3 minute walk to a wide selection of restaurants,
Pros: Central and small kitchen.
Cons: Loud concert at next door/castle ruins. Ventilation through window, so hard to sleep.
Pros: Location couldn’t be more perfect - close distance to everywhere - and next door to Haapsalu Castle. Everything was clean and well maintained. I will definately visit again!
Cons: The beds could need some upgrade, at least in our room the suspension inside the mattresses were quite noisy.

The beach over Lake Vaike is within a 4-minute walk and a 7-minute walk will take you to a beach over Haapsalu Eeslaht Bay.
Pros: Wonderful landlady and a very nice and beautiful garden. The apartment was quite nice too. The house was well situated in the vicinity of the centre of Haapsalu but in a peaceful quarter. Will definitivily check availability next year too.
Cons: A little dark lighting in the kitchen/living room. Probably that's no harm to most people but we are used to bright lighting inrooms. Some street noise at night in the bed room may disturb if you are a poor sleeper. No big deal, we slept well.
Pros: Location was perfect and Ritta was a very nice lady. She takees good care of her guests and garden.
Cons: The house was really old and smelled very moldy. Luckily, it was sunny weather....When it is colder or rainy weather, I wouldnt like to stay there. There are no real curtains...just small white one that you can see trough...so you cant make it dark at night. The carpets are dirty...furniture is old...there is no wifi...it has some charm, but really needs a make over. I paid 45 euro per night, wich is too high for what I got. Or price should be lower or room should be more comfortable. I also shared the house with other guests. They had room next to me. I could hear everything...First night noise till 2.30 am. Also no privacy this way.
Pros: Good to sit in the garden. Castle and main street close enough. Sea around the corner.
Pros: Good place to take the ferry to go to Hiiuma Island. Old style home. Quiet location.
Cons: Perhaps the room was empty for a while before we arrive, but there were some mouse dungs on the bed and an insect in the bed. The toilets had not been clean, we had to flush it before use it.
Pros: A wonderfull garden in the middle of the city with private parking. The staff was very helpful. Ubication is perfect. My kids play with the elastic trampolin.
Cons: There wasn't whashbasin in the bathroom! The was only one electric portable stove to coock.
Pros: Beautiful garden, lovely setting. Beds OK. Nice quiet place in the center of town.
Cons: Outlets and switches were a bit wonky.
Tamme Hostel offers accommodation in Haapsalu, a 5-minute walk from Haapsalu Old Town and centre. Free WiFi is featured and free private parking in the courtyard is available. All rooms feature garden view and access to 2 shared bathrooms. Towels and bed linen are provided. There is a shared lounge and kitchen area at guests' disposal. They can also relax in the garden or on the property's terrace. The nearest airport is Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, 89 km from Tamme Hostel.
Pros: It was the cheapest between the ones I found as close to the city center. The good disposition of Joanna, the person who attended me.
Cons: A bit too far from the city center. The cleaning of common parts (WCs and kitchen) didn't seem to be done every single day. Furnitures and matelasses need, in my opinion, a big renewal.
Pros: A lovely, peaceful hostel with a good room, kitchen and dining area.
Cons: The requirement to phone to contact staff on arrival doesnt work for those - like me - unable to use their phone in Estonia. A fellow guest helped, letting me in and calling a staff member.
Pros: Clean. Nice kitchen and garden. The owner responsed well to messages about checking in. He came early to let me check in. Check out is easy. Some supermarkets in the area and a 15 minute walk to the castle/main street.
Cons: It wasn't a very social place. Felt more like a hotel. But of course thar depends on the other guests. Everyone was friendly. Just not a backpacker vibe. Mostly couples. No reception so you need to call about checking in. Wifi was on-off.
Pros: Very nice, clean and comfortable room. Good bed.
Cons: No washing machine.
Pros: A walking distance from the city center. Parking space inside the gates. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and nice room.
When you stay at Spa Hotel Laine in Haapsalu, you'll be on a lake, within a 10-minute walk of Kuursaal and Haapsalu Castle. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: View was just amazing from our room. Spa was great, saunas and awesome relaxing room. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Cons: Wasn't so clean. There were spiderwebs everywhere and dead flys on the floor. Water didn't want go away when one was taking a shower. Room was really dusty.
Pros: Nice located, bed and bathroom good quality.
Cons: No drinking water or coffee maker in the room, in bathroom just soap, no one-way slippers, no towels in the spa area, breakfast room was more like a meeting room, no single tables, late check out only for cash (room was not booked at check out day, reception asked 6 Euro each hour for late check out, no customer service). It is a nice hotel, but they are saving every cent possible.
Pros: Breakfast was all right
Cons: We expected a nice room to relax and enjoy the view. But we were very disappointed. It was a boring tastelessly decorated small room. Absolutely not a superior room! And the beautiful view was not there. The restaurant was also tastelessly decorated, just a very large room with tables and chairs. We didn’t use the Spa, so we can’t tell anything about the pool and the Spa but if you want just a nice cozy hotelroom, don’t come to this hotel.

Pros: Location was great, food was ok. Overall room design concept is lovely.
Cons: Ventilation was switched off in the room with no window to open. Lack of oxygen by the morning. Toilets to share need regular maintenance by the staaf.
Pros: Nice simple room, close to the castle.
Cons: I had to look for the staff.. it was so quiet, that 2 staff seemed to be running the whole place, but because of it they were doing multiple things at the same time.
Pros: The host was very kind and accomodating. The breakfast was actually quite nice and exceeded my expectations. The location was so convenient! It's basically right next to the castle and all the sights of Haapsalu are just a short walk away.
Cons: The AC unit was aimed right at the bed and the cold air from it was a little bit unpleasant at night. Unfortunately, it was very hot at Haapsalu when we visited, so turning the AC off would have been even worse.
Pros: Excellent location.
Cons: Did bother offers a choice for breakfast just given omelette and bacon and salad. No one asked if we werer vegetarian or not.

Pros: Excellent view from room and good choice at breakfast
Cons: Could have done with larger mugs at breakfast
Cons: Standard Double or Twin are advertised with bathtub or shower, but according to receptionist there are actually no standard rooms with bathtub - only suites. As this was my main requirement to book a room in this hotel, it was disappointment.
Pros: Wonderful location! Quiet, 20 m from sea, but at the same time in the centre of town.
Cons: Clean, simple, but nice.
Pros: Great location & views and nice staff. Good breakfast.
Cons: Noise travels easily thru rooms. People up 5am talking loudly and no-one stops them.

Cons: No elevator

Pros: Great sea view from the room
Cons: Kokolattiamatto/wholefloorgarbet :( smll room, only ok breakfast, high prices. We booked room for 3 days by booking.com and got only 2 days !!
Pros: Good breakfast, Nice location with own parking lot. We were lucky as the annual blues festival was taking place the weekend we were there
Cons: Nothing really I didn’t like.
Pros: Location is great. View was also nice. For short stay this place is ok.
Cons: Breakfast time was until 11.00 at the weekend but they started cleaning up it at 10.30.
Pros: Within a walking distance (10-15) from the main street. Place itself 10 meters from the sea, just grab a bike or walk along the seaside. Nearest place to eat is 5 minutes (Laterna baar). Parking available but may lack of spaces when fully booked.
Cons: Room is very basic, gets hot during summer time and smelled a bit to cleaning liquids.
Pros: Quiet location near the sea with parking places, the guy in reception was friendly.
Cons: Room did not have any noise isolation, so everything from upper floor was like happening in our room. Decor is really outdated.
Pros: Nicely located in the waterfront, but only a short walk from town. Nice sized room, clean and comfortable, with balcony overlooking the sea. Ask for Arimehe, it’s the only room here that has one. Sauna bookable free. Free wi-fi in room, no password. Short and enjoyable walk into town or to Vaike Viik lake. Bird life on nearby bay visible from the room.
Cons: Reception closed at 6 and staff reluctant to book a sauna session starting any later. Staff polite rather than friendly. Few in-room facilities.
Pros: Nice staff Reasonable price Close to bus station Keep your luggage after check out
Cons: A little bit far from center Kitchen is on upstairs
Pros: * Very clean, especially the bedding - good for people with allergies, because no smell and well ironed.
Cons: * Bed too soft
Pros: The staff was lovely and the location was central with gym in the same building and a water park next door. Room was spacious and very clean. Price point excellent value as well.
