The staff were very hospitable and friendly. Which helped made our stay very enjoyable. This was made even more so by the provision of hot drinks during the marathon (the reason we were staying). and especially by the member of staff who stood out in the cold giving the drinks out. Many thanks.
Well situated and easy to find. Very convenient for visiting Het Loo Palace.
the lounge, it was a nice place for a drink with the fire place, cosy. the beds (2 single beds instead of double), when we asked for it it couldn't be changed.breakfast was poor, less choice
Was ok, not very surprising, no too bad
Good workers The room was cold.
Breakfast was very good
Greeted with a complimentary drink for each of us. Caution: They automatically add 13 Euro x people x days stayed to your bill above what you agree to on booking.com. However, once I made them aware on day one, that no meals would be consumed, they happily removed the charges. We stayed there to have a somewhat local (40 min trip away) to Walibi World Amusement park. About the park... I have a 13 year old and when we first drove up to it, combined with the low fee of 26 Euro for an adult ticket, we didn't expect much. We stayed from opening to close, and had a blast. If you like rides, I recommend that you visit Walibi World if you stay here. Overall great experience. Especially for the price.
Central in the city It's not a 4-star hotel, it's not clean and the breakfest is expensive!!
The hotel was warm I found the some staff were not very helpful at all. The room was not always clean and at times had not been cleaned at all, the bed covers just pulled up but not made underneath, the floor was not vacummed, towels were not in the room, was just generally not clean. To have to go and ask for towels at the reception was not good and then to be given them to take back to the room was not acceptable, they should have been taken to the room by your staff, after all I was the one on holiday not your staff. Our stay was not a pleasant one.
room was big, clean and very pleasent. hotel is located 2 min from central apeldoorn and close to several attractions in the area. nice swimming pool. sports room is small, not many instruments
the room was just fabulous, real good value for money! none
location is good. Yes, service was poor, staff not well trained, food quality was barely adequate but service in restaurant was very poor
Nice location in a suburb of Apeldoorn and we enjoyed a day trip through beautiful woods into De Hoge Veluwe national park and Kroeller-Mueller art museum with bicycles hired at the hotel. The restaurant was crowded and busy during the buffet dinner time, when many people form the town seemed to come to enjoy dinner. This proves how popular the place is, but it would be better for the hotel guests to avoid that time as the staff seemed to be very hectic and too busy to take enough care of them.
The hotel is very modern and very well equipped. The family room we got was really amazing and large. Excellent value for money. No refrigerator in the room. A bit strange for this kind of hotel.
Easy to get to and park Would like a mini bar in room
Great location and great food for an affordable price The restaurant was understaffed during diner time, getting a drink or the bill took longer than expected.
Very modern. Very clean. Quite original so it changes from the other hotels ! I had the opportunity to go over there because of a promotion. Let's wee when it will the full price... The restaurant is not really a restaurant but a luxury cafeteria. Good, but not a large choice.
Food, location, room, service was excellent ! The service was very good but not excellent.
Breakfast was very good; and large room. far away from the city
The breakfast buffé was astonishing, the atmosphere was very cosy, staff very friendly. Would definitely come back again. Open bathroom idea not extremely appealing to me.
Pleasant staff, especally lady who was on duty in the restaurant on Friday 21st May evening at 9.00pm, Oriental/Asian lady was very helpful and friendly.Close to shopping and restaurants, nice quiet area, very peaceful. Pillows could be a little firmer and not so soft, and maybe the mirror in the bathroom could be a little lower for shorter people.
Everything. In fact we were booked in for just 1 night before intending moving on to Munster. Instead we cancelled Munster and stayed at the Hampshire an extra night. Not a thing.
Decent hotel, a little expensive. The room was very nice, and had a bathtub. Great service in the restaurant The internet connection was very expensive, and didn't even work for me. The muzak in the bar was really bad-old sappy 70s songs. A little difficult to get to town and back on the bus.
Clean, very comfortable bed, good breakfast Very small room, no tea/coffee facilities
The reception eems to be efficiently run and the hotel is in an attractive wooded residential area just off the ring road on the edge of the city centre (15 to 20 minute walk). The normal bedroom size is somewhat cramped and our room was not well decorated or furnished in an attractive style. The bathroom window was in a defective condition and repairs of this type need more urgent attention.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming, holding the restaurant open for us to allow for our slightly late arrival. The rooms were well appointed and very clean, the double room was very spacious. What was included represented excellent value for money with a really good and more than adequate breakfast included. We also had a good evening meal at a very reasonable price. Only slight criticism - the wine list was very limited. Absolutely not!
location expensive meal, Spa expensive
Everything was good There was nothing to dislike
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. breakfast was nice. and the location of the hotel was perfect for us.
Wellness Jacuzzi/Sauna/Steam Bath/Shower! Themed rooms. Hire of bicycle facility. Room next to lift shaft.
The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop, which allowed us to take public transport to the Kroeller-Mueller museum. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and restaurant is also quite good. The swisscom business center was clunky and expensive with a printer that did not function. The hotel staff did their best to make up for the deficiencies. Given how ubiquitous the internet has become both for business and for personal use (e.g. Facebook), the hotel really needs to update its approach to this technology.
The hotel has very well appointed rooms and a very fine restaurant. The indoor pool on the top floor is a very nice place to relax. It is very handy for a visit to Palace Het Loo
Very pleasant and peaceful location. (Bit out of centre but right next to Het Loo palace and good bus service or bikes to hire at hotel.) Excellent room, sunny balcony, lovely bar terrace, good size swimming pool. Excellent VFM at weekend break rate. Top notch breakfast. No but please note that the bus to/from the station to this hotel is number 10 (ten) not number 1 (one) as on info provided
Despite a latish arrival the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room service was quick and delicious. We both slept well so the bed must have been comfortable as well. The included breakfast the following morning was most comprehensive. All in all great value for money. Didn't really have time to find any faults as we were only there about 10 hours!
The availability of sauna, swimming pool and steam-bath. No air conditioning. Usually not a problem, unless it's summer.
very comfortable, relaxing and quite place
Staff helpful, room clean and very comfortable with excellent bathroom. Good swimming pool and roof terrace Great breakfast/ easy free parking
a very pleasant clean comfortable hotel with a good restuarant and friendly effecient staff.
Location and amenities
We arrived very late and were still served dinner. Flexible service. Good food. Good shower, very clean bathroom. Good bed. It's a long walk from town centre. No cash machines in the wide area. Of course, this is just a downside of the hotel's great location.
Excellent food. Quiet. Handy for ferry across to city centre. Reception area and corridor leading to rooms rather scruffy.
Location. Friendly, helpful staff. Good parking facility. Price of buffet breakfast ridiculous at €20
Comfortable, nice and clean suite. Good restaurant. City-center just accross the river. Small (and cheap) ferry sevirce until 23.00 ! When visiting Deventer I would advise staying at the Sandton IJsselhotel.
Hotel grounds and setting, only stayed one night hard to say but would have been nice to have had B/B option.
The nice hotelroom and location It was a bit expensive (food as well)
part of overall holiday experience pleasant to come back to after day away breakfast could do betterfor quality and choice
Overall great value for money and genuine service!! The bathroom was nice however not very practical (small wash basin etc.)
Fantastic room, good location
Very friendly staff, nice rooms.
Room was incredibly hot. They did however provide a fan. When I mentioned that aircon would be good they politely told me 'this is a three star hotel'
Tres bel edifice. Central.
That it was right just within walking distance of the city centre. The street was very quiet. Breakfast is really good. Personnel friendly and helpful.
Tea and coffee facilities in room
Wonderful staff that went above and beyond service to us when one of us experienced an unexpected medical issure. Very clean room, great accommodations and right in the heart of the historic town.
nice location, quiet room (at back of hotel), historic atmosphere based on our very short stay, we have no criticisms
setting was ideal, hotel staff very courteous, rooms very comfortable noise level one evening / very early morning
the entrance gall is very beutiful
Big room. Construction going on all around the room--scaffolding (and bags of rubbish on the scaffolding) right outside the windows. Poor attention to details in the room--for example, no soap or towel in toilet room; cheap and flimsy plastic glasses; difficult access up steep narrow stairs. Based on our experience here, we will avoid Sandton hotels in future.
Very nice staff, beautiful hotel--very historic.
Interesting concept of rooms representing cities around the world. Nice area, scenery. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
nice idea with rooms in different style, owner very friendly
The kindness of the owners, the breakfast variety, the confort and space of the room and the general sense of being at home.
nice room, very friendly staff, you feel like at home
Very good room. I recomend it.
big and lovely rooms. the owners of these family hotel are very nice and helpfull. they just need to handle their employees better.. no phone in the room, no wireless connection on the second floor rooms. we found some hair remains on our bed and in the shower. the cleaning lady opened our room door at 11:00 and gave us 15 minutes to get out..
Location and surroundings. Dinner and coffee. Friendly service. Local police tried to prevent us from parking for loading and unloading. However, hotel provided us garage parking nearby for free.
the hotel was clean. n/a
liked having a suite of rooms - a nice surprise finding the room was a pain - the corridors are like a labyrinth
good staff, central location, good food
Comfortable beds, great location This hotel was overpriced, it is a little old fashioned and the breakfast was too early for a weekend. One light in the bathroom wasn't working and there was no socket next to a mirror to dry/style my hair.
Location, breakfast, staff service
modern rooms, no airco but still fresh rooms during warm days, located on the market place of Deventer, easy access. Breakfast buffet with variety. no car parking, parking in the street is quite expensive. No fridge nor mini-bar in the room.
Perfect location by the main square and all the places of interest as well as shops. Nice restaurant in the hotel. refligerator in room would be nice.
room was very clean and comfortable television set was not working during the stay, the staff did come and try to resolve it but unable to solve the probelm
The staff's friendliness and willingness to help.
The family is very friendly and helpful. The chance for a drink at nighttime before retiring to bed.
We could easily walk from the train station. Room was small but clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was central to the city and just a short distance to Het Loo Palace. The breakfast was good.
I really liked the hotel, because it was very close to the citycenter of Apeldoorn, also there was a busstop around the cornor for going to the trainstation. The hotel stuff was nice and helpfull, my room and bath were beauty (really good bed!) clean and fresh refurbished. Breakfast was good. none
Very friendly welcome, good recommendations for restaurants and visits. Excellent breakfasts and spacious rooms.
Liked the location and the friendliness of the owners. They were extremely helpful
it's very really good Hotel when I stayed 10 days in Holland. Nice and Frandly service. no.
This is a beautiful, well cared for, period hotel, with friendly staff. All the rooms are very comfortable and well decorated, and the location is tranquil. It is quite near to the Het Loo palace, in an area with beautiful houses and avenues. It's not a dislike, it's more mild than that--the hotel was much further from the station than I thought it was, so it would have been nice to know that the Berg and Bos bus stopped directly in front of it. If this information was included, I didn't see it.
Very friendly greeting on arrival. Helpfull staff re local ammenities and places to eat. Clean airy rooms and excellent breakfast. Would certainly stay again if in the area. Though not a problem for us we did feel the stais to the second floor rooms were a little steep and narrow. this did not diminish our enjoyment of this hotel.
I was very pleased to find a non smoking hotel. The service was friendly and helpful but never obtrusive and the buffet style breakfast was superb. The hotel was in a quiet street but within just a few minutes walk from the centre.
I had a great time in Holland. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and lovely breakfast at the Postillion Hotel made my visit a most enjoyable relaxing one. Thank you for helping make my stay so memorable. Adam White The rooms didn't appear to have heating and I did get chilly in the night.
The free appetisers. It is near to a macdonalds. Staff were quite snobby. They would not sell half bottles of wine, even though they were on the menu. Choice of food was limited and expensive (but very nice) If you extend your stay they will forget and you will be locked out of your room (this happened twice). Smoky lobby and bar. Light switches very inconveniently placed
Breakfast was very tasty and the stuff was gentil. Bathroom was horribly dirty. Dirt and feces from anterior guests at the toiletbrush and in the toilet! Oxidationrings all over the bathroom. No free lan or wlan access in the room.
Restaurant (dinner) was excellent no
clean no tea and coffee making facilities
It was very poor information that I could not cancel room nr 2 because I got 10€ discount on the rate!!!!! :( Even when i canceled the room the operater in the phone did not mention that is was not possible . This is bad service and reason to not recommend the hotel.
Staff were friendly Nothing
Every accessory imagineable in the room, toothbrushes, shampoo, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, clean and comfortable with a great view of the lake and quiet no complaints
We chose this hotel for its location, near to Central Deventer (simple bus ride). Good car parking. Reputation of having a good restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Good value. The "superior" room was disappointedly a little basic, but clean and functional.
Hotel met our needs. Great access to freeway. Not close, i.e. walking distance, to town or shops.
Very well maintained comfortable rooms. Pleasant staff. Very good restaurant and free internet and parking. Will defintely come back. Lots of free car parking but had to walk 2-3 minutes from hotel as there was a conference on.
nice room, very good bathroom, good restaurant
very nice room, huge bathroom and excellent breakfast
Beautyfull large suite, with a nice kitchen and a great spacious bathroom. Best location in town, overlooking the river. Owner and his wive are very friendly and helpfull people. A very good deal for a low price! Nothing.
space of the room, facilities like pantry and free use of everything in the room, gooed breakfast I was not able to arrive befor 10 p.m. and that caused some trouble.
Atmosphere, charm, accessibility No
Absolutely loved the location, room and interior design. I was impressed and would definitly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the beautiful city of Deventer. Was not able to get the computer to work.. no Internet connection :-(
Beautiful river views and 5 minute walk to city center. 4 day laundry service, too long.
Location and room were great. Complimentary wine and coffee machine were unexpected but appreciated. Parking close to the hotel was difficult due to Sunday concert in adjoining square.
It's like having your own little appartment The check out was strange, we only had to drop the key in a box. We had a question about taxi's and didn't have a chance to ask someone personally
The room was very pretty. Cousy but with very good facilities. Fast internet. A good shower. Perfect location. Excellent breakfast.
nice quiet location, in centre of old Deventer, with view on IJssel the tv in the center of the room
The staff are super respectful. They ask you after you arrive if everything meets your expectations.
I loved the staff. They were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Helpful and courteous staff, great breakfast, free Wifi, warm and clean room.
Very nice little hotel, excellent staff, and nice breakfast. Rooms are small, but are advertised that way.
very good breakfast room was very small, but not a problem just for one night
small, cheap, breakfast ok room was very small and very basic (comes with the rate), wifi internet access not suited for Apple computers
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for everything.
Hotel Berg en Bos is a little gem of a hotel for someone looking for basic accommodation at a good price. We were greeted at reception with very friendly and helpful service/information - this immediately made a good impression. The standard room was quite small but perfectly clean and more than sufficient for one night. There was a little bit of noise through the wall at our heads when our neighbour settled in for the night, but it was in our impression a very quiet hotel overall and we were not disturbed by other noises/guests the whole night. The bathroom was on the older side, but again clean and perfectly functional. The breakfast was a pleasure - nice atmosphere and lots of choice/quality! Would definitely stay here again!
It was a fine, but unspectacular room. Breakfast was ok. Free parking was great. A doable walk to restaurants. the owner gave a great recommendation for the nearby Chinese resaturant.
I was just soft bed for sleeping for me.But nevermind.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We found the ambience exceptionally pleasing, and the staff went out of their way to help us to find our way to other sites that we wanted to visit. They were very pleasant & most helpful. We would certainly stay there again, and gladly recommend it to our friends and family.
Friendly and helpfull staff, lovely breakfast, internet available, room was spacious and comfortable. Beds nice and firm and furnishings appropriate for setting. Modern bath and facilities. Will return again.
Highly recommended. The service we received was outstanding, the room was not large but extremely comfortable. Right in the middle of shopping area but not noisy. We would not look at staying anywhere else while in Deventer
This is a charming small hotel in the centre of the ancient city of Deventer. If you prefer the uniform plasticity of a chain hotel you will not like this place. If you like the unexpected - the hotel has a museum of coffee attached! - you will love this place. Our room was not huge but it had everything needful - including, literally, cooking rings and a kitchen sink - and the warmth and friendliness of the staff made it feel like staying with a friend rather than in an hotel. Be aware, though, that there is no parking on site. Nothing.
Hotel room had a strong cigarette smoke smell. The beds were too soft and had plastic mattress covers.
good location - unusual quaint lodgings The bedroom was small and a little cramped and as the weather was very hot we felt the lack of air-conditioning
Great staff, special place, great difference though between the various rooms. Nice ancient feeling
great little hotel with character and charm, friendliest and most helpful hotel staff i've met for year!
Very friendly. Quiet. Good location.
The friendliness of the staff and the quietness and cleanliness of the rooms and location.
