My wife and I love the "back to nature" atmosphere around the hotel with room facing the rice paddy field. Very quiet, nice hide-out place - away from the city. There is no television. We understand that the hotel management would like to create a relax, urban feeling theme for the hotel. That can be felt during the day. But at night it can be very quiet and where outdoor activities are lacking. Thus having TV set in the rooms can definitely help break the silence.
The swimming pool was nice and during breakfast we had a wonderful view over the rice fields. There were a lot of bugs near and in the hotel room (there was a big cockroach in our bath). The shuttle service to the centre of Ubud was poor. We waited too long and decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. Too much money compared to other hotels.
Great location for those who love to be surrounded by nature... Rice paddies all around, always a nice breeze to make you feel really comfortable. Good shuttle service into Ubud (5 min by car, 25 min by foot).Great hotel for families with children too (we had 3 and 6 yrs old), enough space in the room (Lanei Terrace was perfect) to accomadate all of us, good pool but be careful stones are a bit rough (might give some scratches to the kids!), enough space, garden, corner for the kids to play (might be not suitable for children under 2... since there are stone paths, and a few ponds around). We had a great time in this hotel, breakfast was excellent, good quantity, fresh fruit juices included. Staff very very friendly, helpful and discrete. The same background music every morning for breakfast!
The staff at the hotel were very friendly, particularly those in the restaurant and they were all very helpful, with suggestions for trips and information on various tours. The lack of access to the internet because the guest computer needed to be repaired.
