Excellent hotel in ideal location. Great value for money and the cleanest room I have ever had.
Very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and we really appreciated the fact that we were given a free ride ticket for local buses and trains to Wiesbaden.
It was centrally located in Mainz near the Bahnhof with parking downstairs below the hotel. Reception personnel (except for Sunday morning) were not very friendly. No greeting, no smiling...I felt like I was an inconvenience. Also, I noticed there was only one towel in the bathroom for my wife and I. I called at 1600 and asked for another towel. I had to call again at 2030 because we still did not have another towel. Not a very good response for a 4-star hotel.
Personnel friendly and helpful.
Great location next to the train / bus station Friendly stuff Clean rooms with comfortable beds and everything you need Wi-fi is slow and spotty
The location to the railway /bus station. The staff were excellent and the room was comfortable and spacious. We were given a ticket on arrival which allowed free travel on bus and train within the Mainz/ Wiesbaden area. Bus/tram stop outside hotel. The price of breakfast.
Good location, easy access to train station, comfortable rooms. Portions of the building can be noisy at night (street noise), when requesting an iron for the 3rd time, the front desk simply told me maybe all the staff was busy and shrugged off the service request. I left with wrinkled clothes.
Good location, comfortable beds, very clean rooms and hotel, staff was ok but could of been better. Internet was very expensive and so was the breakfast for what you get.
Clean tidy good location near the train station, but not close enough to hear the noise of the trains. Staff very efficient and friendly, no problems at all.
The attitude and service of the staff was excellent! The rooms were comfortable, and well maintained. N/A
Easy access to transport means (bus and train), clean rooms. Nothing special.
Clean and modern, easy to use room facilities. Easy to access from the train station. Free internet access which is speedy enough for watching websites and reading news but no good for skype or multimedia Small fridge with drinks (chargeable) which can accommodate a few small additional items. Public transport (which is extremely effective) free during the stay to the hotel and steps away from the hotel entrance. Staff friendly and helpful. Access to the parking facility not clearly signposted and charged additionally at 15 euros a day - this is not clear when booking via Kayak (hotel probably not responsible for this). Visitor has to choose between the noise of the air conditioning and the noise of the traffic if opening the windows. No facility to brew a cup of tea or coffee in the room. Speedier internet access available at a charge (not tried if really better than the free one).
Nice environment, clean, comfortable & quiet The double bed is relatively small, and the bed sink a little bit in the middle
Very professional staff, beautiful hotel, clean, wonderful pool/spa area. When we arrived, they only had one booking (instead of two booked rooms). They booked us directly themselves for the 2nd room. I hope that we are not charged twice for that room.
A very new hotel. Excellent view (some of the rooms), modern and good quallity fixtures. Very well located. Excellent price/quallity Relativelly expensive add-ins (parking, breackfast, internet etc)
That it was situated next to the Rhine The extra charges, i.e. garage parking
location, room and amenities. great business center should not charge for internet access
Nice location; great staff. Mattress was uncomfortable, it sunk in the middle.
We had a peasant stay!
I liked the staff ,but no free breackfast inspite of high amount of mony . The river side was boring . Nothing to do .!!
Original lobby decoration, clean room, nice view, very calm place. The staff were very kind and helpful but inexperienced and not efficient. Problematic service, needs amelioration. We were definitely expecting much better from a 5* hotel. Clearly overpriced breakfast (choice and quality: can do much better). Average SPA quality.
Service was too good. Everything was good.
Apart from being a wonderful hotel, I would like to state that the staff were the most friendly, courteous, polite people I have met in a hotel in a long time. They couldn't do enough to help in any situation, directions, taxi's etc and they also wished us, as Irish soccer supporters the best of luck for the game !!
It's location was ideal-- Lack of use of a computer for internet. Not everyone has a laptop. Later learned that there seemed to be a computer available as airline crew members were using it. Did not appreciate the lack of knowledge about this computer and the attitude of the staff about using a computer. Was willing to pay a fee but that option not available.
Tea making facilities in room, central to city centre, easy access to bus routes, excellent breakfast but a little dear at €21 Poor bar facilities
Convenient, expensive, lifeless. Excessive changes for food. Look elsewhere.
They upgraded us to a river view room because we were there between the holidays. Then when they found out it was our anniversary, they left a fruit plate and bottle of wine in our room.
Good breakfast and location Wi-fi at $20 a night.
Great location, easy access to Rhine River cruise departures and scenic wine routes. Mainz offers a variety of nightlife, shopping and food choices, all within easy walking from this hotel. Construction/renovation at the hotel appears to be completed. Added a very nice restaurant.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel was undergoing renovations and hence some facilities were not available or were relocated. Believe hotel should have informed us of this so we could have reviewed our decision to stay there. Also hotel used by air crews who are very noisy and inconsiderate.
Roomy room No wifi in room unless you paid
The staff assisted my with all my desires, and even helped arrange for a replacement rental car! Absolutely the best hotel in the region.
Good location and comfortable room. Breakfast buffet was impressive cost of parking
Location of the place was great as it was right across the street from the railroad station. Only a thick comforter on the bed and you cooked with it on but froze with it off.
Helpful staff at reception. Excellent breakfast buffet! Nearness to railway station and other places, including city center. Access to my room via stairs to 5th floor. Lift only up to 4th fl.
Room was impecably clean and large, staff extremelly nice and helpful, and breakfast quite good.
Great location, free wi-fi, good breakfast, clean room, good value for money There was an odd smell in my room, had to keep windows open most of the time. My friends staying in another room did not have this porblem though...
access to public transport and places to eat very central hence can get really noisy in weekends. The pillows provided are really flat and for a person like me who prefer good support need at least 4.
It was right across the street from the train station which made it very convenient. The breakfast buffet was very good. The staff was also helpful and very nice. I wish it was closer to the river, but can't have everything.
Staff charming & helpful, 24 hour check-in accommodates late arrival from Frankfurt Hahn Airport, shuttle bus drops off & picks up outside the hotel, facilities to leave luggage on the day of departure very much appreciated. Location to railway station made the Konigshof ideal as a base to travel to the Mosel or further south Not dislikes but 2 small points, facilities to make a hot drink in the room would be very appreciated or perhaps a cold/hot drinks vending machine in the hotel lobby perhaps
Every thing , the breakfast was good the staff where very helpfull and friendly always a smile on there faces . what lovely people they are knowing my Daughter will be working in mainz quite often and i will be visiting her . I' will 'be staying at the Konigshof again . thank you
great value no complant
Everything was better than expected. Quite, spacious, lift, wireless internet, centrally located and clean. Best value-for-money hotel that we stayed in during our 21 day visit through Europe. Breakfast was superb. Nothing
very pleasant staff, wonderful decor, and an exceptional breakfast. OUr children were leaving to return to Canada the following day and it was a wonderful way to end the summer, lingering over a healthy breakfast with great coffee. Also, the hotel gave a marvellous recommendation for a restaurant, where we celebrated my birthday - excellent food and just a 10 minute walk from the hotel - ideal!!! Thank you nothing
The facilities. Parking.
The staff always made me feel welcome, the first impression is always a lasting impression when one is greeted with pure professionalism. The staff is just great..........................................
the spa was excellent
Clean, quiet room. Nice breakfast.
Staff answered my question immediately about church services in the vicinity.
Excellent restaurant Stairs in and out of hotel means hauling luggage. A luggage ramp would be a worthy addition.
The design, comfort, clealiness and the good treatment offered by the staff. Excellent and valuable breakfast. The location was not good, although convenient for me.
very clean, good breakfast
This place has got a remarkable amount of lovely and surprising design details. You would not expect such an island of beauty in this area at all.
No iron/ironing board, staff had problems supplying one
that wifi internet was an expensive add on.
Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the hotel. Excellent staff, good car parking and excellent restaurant. I would certainly stay again next time we visit the area. No
friendly and helpful staff
The room was clean. The price was to high and it did not have any facilities. Decoration was poor.
all newly renovated and refurbished in an industrial area, not suitable without a car
Easy parking. close to bus stop to town, friendly staff It was a little hard to find - signage was poor
Clean, comfortable and modern. Easy free parking on site. No Tea / Coffee facilities in room. Breakfast an expensive option at Euro16.
No coffee machine in the room with complimentary coffee for "early risers" like myself.
Good location for work on the west side of Mainz with easy access to the Autobahn system. And, a McDonald's across the street, as well as a large shopping center nearby. Breakfast is outrageously expensive. High cost of wireless.
Situated in a quiet part of the city but well within walking distance of Main railway station and city centre
Every one was very friendly and helpful Bar drinks were extremely expensive €7.50 for vodka and €2.50 for the coke.
Staff friendly and helpful, Room big and clean enough, comfortable and clean bathroom with bathtub. No Smoking in the Hotel only outside, calm and relaxed. Breakfast 18 Euros per Person!!!!
Comfort and quietness of room, excellent breakfast and good quality food in characterful restaurant, convenience of garage parking
Room very good and the breakfast is great. Good price if you book in advance.
Quiet yet convenient location. Good size rooms. Only 10 minutes walk from the main station and 10 minutes to the town centre. Excellent restaurant for dinner with an interesting menu and very attentive staff
Room comfort was excelent and good location ( very quiet )
Location, cleanliness. Fitness area was small and TOO HOT.
Excellent value for money hotel, clean and quiet, polite staff, sadly did not get a chance to use poool and spa which looked brand new.
Location relevant to our destination was ideal Standard of houskeeping staff is very low
The Contel Hotel Mainz was very nice, clean, and the staff was friendly and were very fluent in the English language. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. The hotel wasn't easy to get to. We arrived at night on the train and had a very hard time finding out how to get there. It was not close to a bus stop so we had to walk up a steep hill pulling our bags. They need to provide a shuttle.
It is a nice, welcome hotel; very nice services; with a nice location and view;
I like the view from the dining room where we had breakfast. A very comfortable hotel to stay. The breakfast was very good. it was a bit difficult to find or even get to if you carry a suitcase. Taking a taxi would be a sensible choice.
the hotel was very clean and the staff exceptionally helpful. When we arrive the was no house keeping available and the reception staff came to arrange our daughter's bed. Very unfortunate that we were given as requested a no smoking room that has such an intense small of cigarettes and cigar that I had to keep the windows open all night and even spraying my parfume in the room many times didn't work. We got there late with a child who was very tired and had leave the following morning so couldn't be bothered to ask for a room change but I would have had to do it if I stayed another night. The smell of cigarette stayed with me all of the following day.
Doesn't look like much on the outside, but the interior was very nice and the room was large and looked newly renovated. Good breakfast. Lots of free covered parking. Was hoping for something closer to the old town of Mainz, but was fairly easy to go there by car (2 km away).
The location of the hotel. Free parking. The hotel is worth max. 3 stars
Central location, so easy to get to Schott Mainz. Lovely room Yes, the shower - the head didn't work properly and needs replacing
I think the Breakfast was the best part of my stay at Contel along with the view from the restaurant. I believe its too far away from the city center and the room was too small and the furniture was not upto the mark.
The breakfast The hotel is advertising as 4 star hotel but it looks like no more than 2.5 star. Very disappointing. The distance from hotel to Railway station is 10 min but in the opposite direction (up hill) is 30 min.
This was a lovely hotel, beautifully located in a gorgeous park, within easy walking distance of the centre. The rooms were really stylish with a lovely view. Hotel staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. It was a real pleasure to stay in this hotel.
The hotel was in an excellent location for getting to the Frankfurt airport. On a Sat am, it took only 20 minutes, door to door. Might be worse during week days.
Rooms at the back are quiet and larger with balconies over the huge park and great views. Lovely bathroom and interesting modern room layout. Well run by the ever-present family team. Excellent restaurant which is well worth the high prices. Location is 10 mins out of town; busy hearty breakfast with groups of older citizens..
Excellent facilities, staff and rooms. A superb breakfast and park setting.
We loved this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's lots to do in the hotel, especially for kids. This is definitely my 'favorite' hotel. maby thanks for a great few days.
Fresh room, top class!
Location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast
The size of the rooms, the beds and the breakfast. The SPA area is nice although the decor of the pool is a little kitsch. The distance from the city centre (it's a 25 minute walk) and the fact that they did not clean our room.
I loved the park like setting of the Hotel.
Friendly people Long (but nice!) walk to city centre.
very helpful staff, walking distance to city center,
Very friendly staff, quiet room, fast and smooth elevator. Due to a wrong entry in the databank, I was first given a room that hadn't been prepared by the chambermaid. The clerk apologized genially carrying my bag while taking me to a new room and gave me a voucher for a free drink for compensation.
Outstanding hotel - very pleasant room within easy walking distance to main square and sights. Very good restaurant with exceptional range of food for breakfast. The quality of the food and cooking was superior to all other hotels we stayed in across Germany and France, including more expensive hotels! Very quiet room and friendly staff. A baby cot was provided for free, complete with rubber ducky which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again.
Customer service No
Expensive Internet: €22/day is a bit too much.
Near the center, friendly staff
Conveniently located for my meetings. Friendly and helpfull staff. Good looking lobby and rooms. Too quiet, no ambience, no live music.
Proximity to the center of the town No free internet access and parking is too expensive!
very nice staff, good location no free internet
Close to historic center and train station. Good alternative to staying in Frankfurt.
Clossness to the Station and some of the city sights
The hotel room was very clean and tidy and the staff friendly. There were no hot drink facilities in the room and so i was charged for the cup of tea that i wanted upon my arrival. It would have been nice to have been provided with a kettle and some tea bags/coffee sachets etc..
Everything More leaflet information about sehenswurdigkeiten
very comfortable and homely good central location
Central Position. For the rest basic services. Room and bathroom small but serviceable. Friendly staff. Cleaning OK. Price reasonable.
Car Park was part of the Hotel, not on the Street as with some Hotels. No complaints at all.
Great location, friendly staff. Good variety for breakfast.
The staff was very nice and the hotel was pretty clean. The mattress and the pillow was uncomfortable (quite soft) but I understand that this is subjective
very good breakfast and near everything (Rivercruises and railwaystation) no fridge in the room, very bad noise suppression
Friendly staff. Excellent central location with lots of shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and a dance studio all close by. The hotel is ust off the the main street in a courtyard so a bit quieter. Really nice comfortable room. Pretty breakfast room. The bathroom has almost no surfaces to put stuff on. The toilet was a bit tempermental. There is not enough sound-proofing between guest rooms. Maybe I'm spoiled by larger, more expensive hotels. But the price was right. I would stay here again.
The staff were helpful. The rooms were spacious and had nice views. The breakfast was good and started early. All in all, we had a really good stay. There was no kettle in the room.
The breakfast is very good, and the pillow and quilt are better than many 3-star hotels. This is a cooking corner inside thesecond wardrobe. some room on the street side are noisy.
Size and comfort of room Loctaion
Clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Would have liked tea/coffee making facility in room.
We booked the "double room" on booking.com and got a very large room, more like a small appartment, with couches, table etc. Room was spotlessly clean. Location was fine, about 10 minutes walking to Worms center. Goog parking underneath the hotel. The description mentioned a sauna, which was closed due to reconstruction. Bathroom was quite basic and for example had no one person packages of shampoo, soap, etc.
close to the autobahn
This is the second time I have stayed at the Asgard Hotel (my partner has stayed there a lot more often) and yet again we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The staff are very friendly and their English is very good. The rooms are comfortable. There was a good choice at breakfast. Location is very good being on the outskirts of Worms. This year we had a room with a much smaller bathroom and the shower was a bit cramped.
The private underground parking was excellent and the breakfast was lovely with many different choices on offer.
We (me and my wife) appreciated very much the breakfast and the cleansiness and large side of the bedroom (provided also with a little kitchen) there is no free parking owned by the hotel
24 hour reception staff, excellent breakfast.
The location of the Hotel is good, and it has good facilities, and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast is also very good.
Parking pacilities were very good so was breakfast. It's a quiet setting.
The room were beautiful, well equipped and big. The relation between price and benefits is very good. It is a little bit far from Mainz "downtown".
It was at the edge of Mainz, which kept it nice and quiet and easy to go in both directions: country or city. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I thought it was a great deal and I was more than satisfied with it.
Free parking was good It was good we had a car because it seemed slightly out of town? Overall a good experience here though
hotel staff is extremly friendly and helpful far away from the center, and difficult to find
Breakfast. Not a super friendly staff. They did the basics, and that was about it.
Quiet surroundings, excellent room and cleanliness, good breakfast, very helpfull staff Parking space was cluttered up with garbage containers, building materials and awkwardly placed pillars.
very nice hotel, the staff where very friendly and helpful.the breakfest was included in the cost and was great.free carpark is included.that is terrific in mainz. when i had a beer in the bar the waiter used a overflow glass of stale beer to top up my new glass of beer, unfortunatly my german is not that good to have a go at him, that was the last beer i had that night
Generally satisfactory hotel al reasonable price. Spacious and clean room. No disturbance by noise. Room was rather warm, although no heating was on. No individual temperature control. Carpet floor not optimal for cleanliness. Hotel organised internet not functional.
The hotel is perfectly located - couldn't be better. Just a 5-minute walk to the many shops, restaurants, farmers' market, & The Dom (cathedral) in the old town, a 15-minte walk form the main train and bus station, and literally across the street from the beautiful Rhein, where students, lovers, cyclists and runners can be found in droves. I had a room with large windows overlooking the Rhein river - it was fabulous. Nice and sunny in the morning, fresh breeze...and when the windows were closed, they completely shut out the noise of the city. The breakfasts were also very good - typically German - lots of great food to choose from. And the staff were very helpful, giving me maps and directions, etc. They also speak English.
The best feature of the hotel is its location. It overlooks the Rhine and is a nice short walk (10 to 15 minutes) along the riverfront to the centre of town where the Guttenburg museum and catherdral are to be found. Mainz is a town well worth a visit and this hotel is as good a centre as any.
Location and russian staff on reception
If you go for the Rhine river trip, this is a good location for the hotel Quite far away from Mainz HBF
High quality breakfast Far from the city center, parking place for extra fee, far from the hotel
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful, breakfasts were very tasty. The hotel is perfactly situated in the city, within 15 minutes walking from almost all sightseeings.
clean and confortable room face a quite street poor english of the reception
Very near to the railway station "Roemisches Theater", i.e. possible to reach very fast the city center. Rather cheap. I think there was no isolation against noise...during the night the club on the opposite side of the street and in general the street were very annoying and it was very difficult to sleep
Good location, good value, excellent breakfast
Cleaned and quite. Very close to the city centre. Breakfast too expensive.
Breakfast buffet excellent
Price of the breakfast
Clean room of reasonable size and in good shape. Very close to Interlaken West train station. Friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff. Shower and toilet on separate floors.
Very friendly and obliging staff -room found enabling early checkin after 24hr flight.Room and facilities all to good standard as per Accor group standards.
I was glad to stay at Ibis Hotel in Mainz, one of my favourite cities. I am a retired Air Canada flight attendant, and your hotel was very comfortable, although previously I spent my stopovers at the Hilton. I would chose Ibis again, and recommend it to my friends. I found the pricing of the two nights confusing. I understood from the desk clerk I spoke to long distance from my home, that the second night's price of 89 euros included breakfast, but this was not the case. However, I enjoyed my stay.
Friendly hotel in a quiet environment. Spacious room. Bed and furniture reasonable-good. Nice (small) garden. Small indoor pool and sauna. Certainly not a 4 star hotel. Room and bathroom finishing are clearly do-it yourself and 2-3 star at the most. Curtains on a cable (emergency solution?) . Wall / ceiling decoration unfinished. Shower curtain came down and will come down again, unless better fixed. No elevator, only outside (!!) staircase to all 4 levels, absence of restaurant, dated breakfast room.
I most like the buffet breakfast and the decoration of the restaurant. I don't like too much stairs to my room. (specially in winter time)
Friendly and very helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet, quiet athmosphere, large comfortable rooms, pretty garden
The care and friendliness of the staff was really good. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We also liked the quiet location very much. No - everything was great.
Friendly and helpful staff
I normally stay in Wiesbaden when I come to town here but all of the hotels were booked. So this was all I could find. The next time I return to Wiesbaden I will intentionally book at this hotel. It is worth the drive at the end of the day. The personnel were friendly and the laid back atmosphere was wonderful. If you can't relax and get rest here you can't relax anywhere. The gardens were excellent but I didn't have time to enjoy them. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was great. It felt like home instead of a chain hotel. Much more personal. I would say that there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel. But then I discovered that just down the street was one of the best Italian restaurants that I have ever been to. And I have been to Italy numerous times.
The hotel was clean and spacious. I really enjoyed it. The staff was great too.
Location No air conditioning. No safety deposit box. Yet classed as 4 star.
The price is too high!
We were offered a spacious room and the restaurant food was excellent.
Convenient for airport and motorways. Swimming pool. Excellent restaurant. Pleasant and quiet town centre location.
Comfortable bed, good breakfast. In the centre of town, close to shops etc. Good prices in restaurant, especially lunchtime.
It was close to several good restaurants and a nice shopping area. The hotel did offer wireless internet, but did not have a business center with a PC for use by travelers who did not have their own laptops.
Everything was great, very friendly staff and great food My Mom and I had to leave at 5:15 am for the airport. Since we were on vacation we had plenty of luggage. When we got ready to leave I carried all of the luggage to the elevator and tyo my surprise the elevator was shut down. I had to carry all of the luggage from the second floor by myself. I guess I felt for what I paid for the 9 days they could have made some sort of arrangement.
* Location - Centrally located on the main street with lots to do w/i walking distance * Staff - Extremely helpful front desk * Value for the money
Silent place, in the middle of centre of Gross Gerau, quite close to Darmstatd and Frankfurt by car Breakfast untill 10a.m. only
Very friendly, helpful staff; lovely room; great breakfast; gorgeous location; very relaxing break. Thankyou
I like all place of the hotel. No, There was not any.
frendly staff, wine shop in hotel - wine is the best need staff on reseption on sunday
they treat you like family
Very clean, very peaceful after a long drive, very helpful staff despite language barrier
Excellent Service and very accomodating staff.
The hotel is in a quiet location. The standard of the meals and variance were very good. A very pleasant hotel to stay in.
The large room and the service when selecting and tasting wines. I had hoped the hotel would have been cozier.
Pleasant staff, very clean and the wine selection, which was very good came predominantly from thier own winery. We were surprised that they produced red wine, and it was very good. The food was very salty
