We appreciated the free evening buffet. It was nice to have a break from the high dinner prices of Norway. Our room was very quiet and pleasant. The bathroom was large with lots of counter space. Parking was difficult and you had to pay for it.
Comfortable. Evening meal on Saturday poor. No room service.
had not internet conection in my room
The staff were just serviceminded in a way more than you can expect.
Breakfast was poorly presented
Our room was in the refurbished part and was very nice and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located. The choices for breakfast were very limited (esp. considering the price)and the older part of the building looks a little time-worn.
I liked the location of the hotel very well Parking of car was probelematic. I wished the guests would be encouraged to park their cars in such a way to allow others to park. In essence, the parking was quite haparzard
friendly staff small single beds in double room - bathroom ok but minimum comfort
fabulous feel like home: there is tove who makes your breakfast most mornings, others who make noon lunch; coffee is hot, chocolate is hot, waffles divine with lots of jam, meatballs done A+! all dining done in this cozy, homelike site with the local men discussing world affairs and solving themas well---sitting in back room with coffee.upstairs has a TV and sitting room on 3rd fl. with lots of old or donated books---we read a lot of them; we stayed 4 nights here and used this place as a jump off for our trains to Bo and Porsgrunn. It is a hike to the train station from the Dag Bondeheim but good for the legs!! Use their back enterance door facing the city library and the Greig concert place after hours as coffeestova door is locked. Only thing is that we found no reason to not need to stay another night or we would have. Desk clerks were so nice and promised to fix info for late comers who want to come in and find front door locked.
It is very conveneient, close to the town centre and bus station. Also, it is cheap considering that Norway is an expensive country. It is better to have panel TVs.
The reception lady was really helpfull The rest of the stay
I think that the hotel was nice, clean with a helpful staff, comfortable bed and an excellent wireless connection in the room. It was a good value for the price in a very expensive country. Would definitely use this hotel again if I am back in Skien
OK location and parking. Breakfast was good. It was whar i expected for a business trip stop over.
That we had booked one night only. Bø Hotel is a two star hotel charging four star prices (NOK 1380 for a double room). It is a prefabricated building with some architectural embellishments, but the rooms are very basic. One shared dispenser for soap and shampoo between the shower and the washbasin, small towels, water flowing all over the floor if you take a shower - it is more like a student accommodation than a hotel. The double room turned out to be two narrow beds along adjoining walls. There was no a la carte for dinner, only a buffet between 19.00 and 21.00 at the rather steep price of NOK 275. Coffee and tea in the reception area for NOK 25. The breakfast was mediocre, canteen-like. The staff was unprofessional. Do yourself a favour: find somewhere else to stay.
Nice and friendly family atmosphere, ideal for children with nice pools to splash in. The grill buffet at dinner time was varied and very good. There was very little sound isolation between rooms.
