Was not happy with my stay, this was the first time at any super 8 where I had to give a security deposit ($50) which was fine but they failed to return the deposit, then charged an additional $50 for "soiled linen, towels, and pillows". When I asked about more detail I was told it was "because you used them". Basically I was charged for the hotel to do their laundry ha! I am not a dirty person by any means, needless to say, I will not be staying at this hotel ever again.
Locaation and friendly staff resurfacing parking lot so parking was a bit of a problem but the staff was helpful.
the moment we pulled up, we realized it was a bad part of town. i mistakenly thought it was another super 8 that i had previously stayed at in kansas city when i booked it. the front desk lady was nice, but kind of creepy. our room was on the second floor&the moment we got into the hallway it smelled like pot really bad. we got into our rooms. the main room was okay, but the bathroom had gravel on the floor&toothpaste on the floor&counter. we did not feel safe staying here. we went down to the front desk to ask what we could do; the front desk lady said since we booked it through you (but somehow really through expedia) we would have to call them&they our money back. at this point it was midnight. we had just driven over three hours to be here. we hadn't even been in our room for an hour. we were on the phone with expedia until two in the morning&talked to two different people. the hotel still refused to refund our money. it was crazy to pay $170 for two nights in this awful dump&i won't ever make that mistake again. we left first thing saturday morning&stayed somewhere else.
great location friendly staff dirty
The bed was great. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We as ked for ground floor room and it was no problem. Didn't like the tight fit in the room. The rack used to bring in and take out your luggage barely fit in the door. I felt almost clostrphobic. The continental breakfast according to my husband not very good. The TV wasn't very user from. Either the TV shut off or the box would shut off. The toilet ran all night.
lits it told room I ice
location was great for our need could use a facelift as linens and carpets were in need of replacement.
Right off the freeway, easy access no matter where you wanted to go. Room was musty, ceiling paint was clearly holding water and should be dealt with, heater smelled like burning hair and set off the smoke alarm almost immediately.
We stayed there this weekend and the assistant manager Sue is amazing! She was so sweet and helpful, we will actually miss her! Great customer serve!
Infested with roaches and not clean
Nothing First room the floor was soaked with water or if it was water. You walked in and it was like walking threw a big puddle! The room stunk. The bathroom was disgusting! Went back to the front desk, they gave me another room and it was worse then the first!!!! Garbage on the floor, empty condom rappers! Walls and ceiling filthy! To top it all off I woke up to having about thirty or so bites on my person from what I believe to be bed bug bites!!!!! I found two of the little pests on me!!!!! Went to use the shower and the bath drain backed up depositing who knows what all over me and the tub!!!! I went to the office and told them about this and all I got was sorry. This place needs to be shut down!!!! Of course I was still charged in full for my stay. Of course I was!!!
Everything was bad. No toilet paper. Dirty towels, dirty toilet, dirty shower. Smelled like smoke. Only one lamp had a light bulb. Felt very unsafe. Very outdated. I would not recommend this place. They did have Wi-Fi; only used it to find another hotel.
There was not hot water for the showers. Water beetles all over, the toilet looks like it handnt been scribed in months. When we arrived we put the air conditioning all the way down to 61 and was still blowing hot air. At 6am the house keepers were slamming doors across the way trying to clean the rooms. Overall a horrible place to stay.! Run!!!!
leaving in the morning Upon opening the door I smelled an awful strong stench that was very unpleasant. The toilet was laced with a brown ring and there was no toilet paper. When I took a shower brown water came out and the knob fell off the handle. The bed sank about six inches or more and had zero spring to it. Back to the odor, I had to go to Walgreens to buy a can of air freshener and a scented candle to burn while I slept. I do not recommend this motel.
It was very modern and up to date The room had a horrible odor like their pipes busted and the heater made a loud irritating noise off and on which woke me up out my sleep
No dead bodies in the room Everything else.
Nothing. This hotel was extremely dirty. We ended up seeing the room and checking out immediately and getting a refund. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in the past year.
Easy access from the freeway. No wifi, no water in the pool, electrical outlets wouldn't hold plugs, tv had crappy reception
ice maker didnt work. no breakfeast. roaches. bathroom door didnt shut. it was horrible everything
Location was a plus i guess The rooms are disgusting the bathroom was dirty the lock on the door was broken the trim around the tv was busted the remote didnt work so to change the chanel u had to smash ur fingers the phone didnt work the beds where so uncomfortable and the lady at the front desk was rude she was on a personal call most the time i was in front of her and they charged my account 2x i will never ever return to this location or recommend it to anyone ever
Don't walk around barefoot in your room. Your feet turn black as if you walked on a street. The bed had carvings in it and there was writing on the walls.
Pretty cheap hotel so u didn't expect much. Not to far from local casinos The room does not have thick blankets so at night it gets col
Nothing Ac/heater was so loud we had to almost max the tv volume to hear it and there was a centimeter gap across the whole top of the ac unit that led outside so the room was freezing. Also blood on the wall, if assigned room 227 request a different one.
Good location. It was clean and comfortable. Can't beat the price. The front desk was very friendly. We would stay again. Can't think of any
The hotel was 1 1/2 from the location of our event. Otherwise we would of canceled that hotel and went elsewhere due to the receptionist. The receptionist the service we got from her
Location...that's it. STAFF, rooms needed to be updated, breakfast was sparse. Staff was THE worst...will NOT stay here again, would NOT recommend!
Beds were comfortable and room not outdated Bathroom was pretty dirty
It was clean enough. It was dated but it's just a place to sleep
They had breakfast Kayak lied on their site, we had to pay more because of their screw up. Cold water in shower. Towel racks fell off as soon as you touched it. We will not be using kayak ever again. Hotel refused to print off reciept for us because it was booked through kayak. To be able to use this as a business expense makes that kind of hard.
The place seemed clean when we checked in, was banged up on the wall and floors but i wasn't expecting perfection. The musty oder in our room was awful and the fact that the window opened to the ground level it was like being in a basement. The curtains had to be closed or anyone walking could see everything in our room. Not a place i would stay at again.
Comfortable bed. Good location. Room was dirty. Had been cleaned, but not well. Hair on the phone and the outside of the toilet was dirty. They only put decaf coffee in the room.
Smoking room and private. Staff was great and fixed the no towel issue. Would not give me a receipt for the room, booking on a different site.
The tv was from the early 90 the bathroom was rather dirty pillowcases were stained very noisy hotel as well
Lovation Nothing to like
There was a mistake with my reservation due to Kayak booking me a handicapped room. The manager moved me into a kitchenette suite at no extra charge, so I thanked him for that. The room was mostly clean. That's pretty bad. The entrance in the back of the hotel was unsecured, the lock was gone. Entering my hallway I could immediately smell marijuana smoke. I was alone, and I carry every day, so I wasn't too worried about it. Still not the best warm fuzzy feeling.Had I had my family with me, I would have asked for my money back and left immediately. AC unit kept turning on and off every 2 minutes or so. Also the WiFi was OK at best.
Cheap and simple. Upon arrival I was told I had to be 21 to room when the website clearly said 18. It became a big ordeal but eventually they let me have the room I had already paid for – imagine that.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel was extremely simple to navigate and had a wonderful location with a great rate. The room was not the cleanest (which is to be expected, I guess.) Wish more care would've been taken to properly clean the room, as we found a scarf behind the bed and urine on the toilet. Overall, was not dirty, just not clean by any standards.
I enjoyed the stay at Super 8. I would rate it an excellent stay.
Nothing. I would not stay there again. No parking spaces. They have park and fly and the parking lot was over half full from that. When we got there the first night we took the last parking spot available and were afraid to leave again that night in case we couldn't find a spot to park again. When we went to take off the next morning we had vehicles parked behind us. Check in was slow, and the second night we had trouble with our room keys. Location was bad, there was only one place to eat within walking distance of the motel and we were unable to leave in the evening due to the parking situation. The bed's were horrible, they felt like someone had put a mattress topper on top of a box spring. They were incredible uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.
The front desk personnel were very kind, helpful, and answered questions. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed slept great!! Also, we appreciated the park and fly opportunity and the transport to the airport. The breakfast was a little meager. Wish we'd had yogurt and fresh fruit too, but we got along fine!
The rooms were clean and comfortable We were told the day before that we would be able to check in at 1:00 PM since we would be arriving early but when we tried to check in, we were told that the rooms would not be ready for an hour. We left and returned at 2:20 pm and only one room was ready and were again told that we would have to wait for another 1 5-20 minutes for the 2nd room to be ready. Also in one room, there was a problem with the door shutting in the bathroom and in the other room, it would not lock and we had to prop a door against it.
No internet/television service for night and next morning.
We had a late check in (close to midnight) but there were staff at the front desk waiting for our arrival. The room was clean. Bed large and comfortable. Good value for the price, if you don't want breakfast. There were only 2 (small) towels, 2 wash clothes, and a bathmat - not sufficient for 2 grown adults. Only one bottle of shampoo. The major complaint, however, was the breakfast. We were assured when we arrived that there would be a full, hot breakfast served from 4am-10am. We went down at 5:30, and there was one half empty container of lukewarm coffee, and a carafe with a skim of milk on the bottom. No hot or warm anything, no protein, no bread products other than a half loaf of bread (left open) with no condiments in sight, and the waffle mix was empty. When we went out to tell the staff, the front desk was deserted. Very disappointed.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Quiet.
-The room was well decorated and clean -Bed was very comfortable -Lobby was unusually small which made enjoying breakfast without worrying about bumping into someone difficult -The chair for the desk inside the room was too tall
The decor Did not have a room ready by the check in time requested Requested ice via advanced check in & there was no ice in my fridge when I arrived. Room key stopped working & had to get the key recoded When taking a shower it took minutes for the water to get warm enough to get in. Nearly 20 min to get comfortably warm.
Bed was very comfortable. Zona rosa is right across the street, lots of restaurants and things nearby. Downtown KC is about a ten minute drive. Rooms are very small. Why two desks in such a small room? The plumbing was hot and miss; sometimes the toilet would flush and sometimes it wouldn't. Water pressure in the shower was terrible, and the towels were old threadbare and stained a bit.
The location was wonderful. Cigarette burns on bed covers, in a NON SMOKING ROOM. I paid for a king-size bed, was given a room with two full. Outside door didn't work when trying to get back in. If it hadn't of been so late and I had already paid for it, we would have left. The man behind counter was hard to understand and couldn't help us.
Good value Clean Climbing the stairs to the third floor. Ice machine was on the first floor only Parking was tight and limited
Cheap and right off the freeway 'non smoking room' smelled like someone had smoked in it and the bathroom smelled like pee
The room was very comfortable. We unfortunately booked a smoking room and it smelled a bit like smoke, but that wasn't the hotels fault. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast could have had a bit more variety and the apple juice seemed a bit old, it was discolored and didn't smell right.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The woman at the front desk was very hospitable. The room was clean, and we had everything we needed for a short, overnight stay. The traffic from the highway was rather distracting when I was trying to go to sleep, but I imagine that's just a cost of the location.
Cheap, clean and semi quiet. Shower rod ready to fall down. Turn the ligh on in the restroom and the noice will run you out.
My room had not been cleaned. There was even a dirty diaper under the bed. Terrible
Got in very late and the reception person was very nice. Nice size frig in room. I used Priceline almost everynight on a 12-day cross-country trip. By far, this was the worst hotel we stayed at. Very old and tacky. Bed was not comfortable. Towels were small. Construction made it difficult to enter. Breakfast was awful.
The only thing I liked about this room is that it was close to Whiskey Tango's. My birthday party was there, and I did not have to drive after a night of celebrating. There was old coffee packets in my coffeemaker, no comforter on my bed. It had one sheet and a very, very thin blanket only.
There really is not anything positive to be said about this hotel which is actually more of a motel. The room was in a pitiful state. Starting with the door there was a swing lock to secure it internally but no area to attach it. So it was useless. The beds were kind of rundown and one of them had no box spring. There were no headboards on the bed.
Nothing Everything, the room had a smell of musty, wet, mold and just dirty. The rooms do not even come close as to what is showed online.front desk people didn't offer us a different room. Went across the street to the Comfort inn..
price it was scary. It had tenants living in this hotel and they were pretty getto and scary
Of course, it is not a 4-star hotel. But it was very peaceful and quiet. The hotel staff were very courteous and pleasant. The beds were truly queen size and the refrigerator worked well. The shower was good and there was something for breakfast. It was hard to get to because of significant construction on roadways in the area. The rooms, walkways, and stairs should be cleaned more thoroughly.
The owner/manager was very nice. They insisted that I pay an additional 10.80 for my 13 year old son!
The flies, moths, & bugs in the room
Walmart and Quick Trip are within 1 to 2 blocks. At least 5 food options within walking distance. No Pool. Highway traffic. Hard to get to.
Location, close to food, gas, highway. Room was dirt, bed sheets didn't seem clean, one of our bath towels was diry and had a lipstick
The bed was awful, it was like sleeping on concrete! The room had been undergoing some renovations, so there was open drywall in the bathroom, they had overbooked so there were no other rooms available. The airconditioner also did not work.
This hotel was conveniently located near the interstate. The lobby smelled bad. I was charged an additional amount for an extra person even though I ordered two beds. Junk cars were in the parking lot. The drains in the bathroom emitted a sour odor.
The room was clean and warm. All was in good order. Breakfast was tasty too Nothing, would stay again.
price Wear and tear on the room but it was expected
Not many redeeming factors about this place Dirty shower walls, poor performance by front desk. Put me in an already occupied room. The bathroom sink had bad faucet. The tub had a continuous water leak. There was virtually nothing available for breakfast at 8:00 AM.
a/c worked Had to change room 3 times before i got one that didn't reeked of cigarette smoke. I even requested a smokeless room.
Wasn't the fanciest place I've ever stayed but it was perfect for what we needed. Clean, friendly, pleasant, good food, fast internet, great location. Great place for our pit stop on a long trip.
Nice and quiet. Clean room. Friendly staff. Excellent for the price.
