Clean, quite and confotable Everything was OK
The service is impeccable. The restaurant is good. The hotel is functional.. No charm whatsoever. Accessing my room was quite disorienting having to zigzag through corridors. The hotel is clinical but unfortunately totally charmless.
Splendid. Postcard views. Incredible facilities. Business center. Free parking. Free internet. Great breakfast. If you are in Zurich and have a car do not pay through you nose for a substandard hotel. Travel 50 minutes and do your self a big favor and stay here.
The wellness area was nice. The Keller bar was too smokey for my taste.
I was suprised on Hotel's staff friendliness and welcome approach, as well as the pleasure to use next-door spa for free!!
tHey allow you to bring pets ( i.e. dog )
Nice and clean room.
First room was new and modan .5minutes to station. .each room was different, bed mat was bad and old and telephone was broken at 2nd time.but first room was no problem, good.
Great family accomodation. The family room could hold five people. Two adults in a double bed and three children in a tripple bunk.
Very good hotel
Poor check in, no lift working, door codes did not work, expensive, noisy, no factilies, no reception
Family accommodation most important for us. Not easily available in Zug. Great size main room and children loved bunk beds. Room neat and clean. My bed and pillow were very uncomfortable. Poor quality (old) fruit at breakfast.
like the triple bunk beds for the kids it is right across the street from a church, that rings it's bells every 15 minutes beginning at 6am. Also Zug is a good half hour from Zurich, long curvy road
Location and conveniance
The staff was most helpful during my stay. The room is fine, although the restaurant, the rooftop as well as many rooms are being renovated. The hotel's check-in is controlled by an automatic system, which means if you go there out of hours you have to use the check in machine. That machine was down when I got there. It's better if you check in during staff working hours.
free internet, free water, excellent value for money One complaint. Church bells at 6 am, then every 15 mins, then more bells at 7, then every 15mins needs to be more clearly soundproofed in the rooms. I arrived late and lost more than 3 hours slep I was relying on. this would affect me staying there again.
it was v good hotel, location ,clean , i really like it,no thing bad in that hotel , it was 2 * hotel but i rate it as 4 * hotel non
Great staff Nothing
The manager was most hospitable and friendly ,rooms a good size and clean.Staff were thoughtful .Breakfast, although Continental was lovely. No tea and coffee facilities in the room.
I stayed in this hotel before and I like it a lot. Friendly staff, good location, good value for money I have said it before - please improve the breakfast :)
The location was very convenient to the public transportation. The food offered in the morning was very good although the eggs disappeared on the weekend. Room was noisy next to the road and I could not close the window as I needed the cool air for comfort. The air conditioner was disabled. Also, apparently the walls are thin as someone knocked on the wall when I was talking to my wife at 5:00 am.
A front lady was so kind.there are candy and fruts ,free internet at the front. A internet in the room was expencive.tv openning was slowly ,but there are many channel.
the situation room really small, breakfast poor
Staffs' friendly attitude and willingness to help with information and assistance. Nothing negative.
The hotel provides a very good level of service and is conveniently located for the centre of Zug and the railway station
bar was convenient, personnel friendly, breakfast was excellent, some warm dishes were available(bacon, eggs, sausages), a wide choice is highly appreciated standing lamp in office side of the room 318 was out of function
Rooms, service. Very convenient to old town and its' many bars and restaurants. Dated and bland hotel design.
good service, good location and very clean. It is expensive.
Friendly staff; good restaurant; great restaurant service expensive
Food was excellent and the wine The restaurant closed too early so had to eat at bar for the same price not enough tables
Parking under hotel Yes, its was extremely noisy due to an event taking place behind the hotel. Even with sealed windows you could not hear the television or go to sleep
Too modern for a regular tourist
Location. Bedding was nice.
English speaking staff, nice breakfast, very nice rooms, access to a swimming pool, and it had better than average food,
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Very simple rooms, yet extremely comfortable with all natural materials. You will find nothing missing in terms of amentities. Not actually.
The restaraunt is very good and stylish. It has a great variety of expensive wine, however very small variety of food. The central location of the hotel is very convenient. It was very cold in the room.
The location was good being less than 15 minutes walk from the main rail station. The hotel owner and his team were excellent. The hotel was originally a 16th century inn and is has been modernised but retains the old character. My wife and I had the superior double room which I would recommend. The standard of food, all home made, in the restuarant was absolutely superb. This family run hotel is thoroughly recommended. N/A
breakfast was wert good and well presented
The wifi was free of charge and worked correctly.
friendliness of staff/owner, small is eautifull seem away from town, but train and bus get you there in 5 minutes
We were a family of 4 and it is difficult in Europe to often find large enough accomodations. When we checked in this was evident in my initial reservation; however, they gave us an additional room at no extra cost to accomodate us. That is customer service. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and excellent buffet selection Noise in the morning from the nearby car wash
Good size room and facilities, very clean, personnel's professionalism, excellent breakfast, free wi-fi, parking facility An extra pillow available in the room and a non-slippery pad for the shower
We had an excellent room that surpassed all our expectations. Lovely staff. Good location. Breakfast was excellent.
OK, spacious room, nice people at the reception, good breakfast the room smelled bad when I moved in - I had to keep the window open for the enitre stay
Comfortable, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable staff, good location if travelling by car, good food, good value for money.
Room very spacious and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would rather the bar was a no smoking area.
The breakfast was excellent
Very good location, opposite station and bus stops. Easy parking, at extra cost. Small bar available. Rooms clean and staff helpful. Multilingual. No, everything was as expected.
It was very quiet and just opposite of the train station. It is ideal if you have to go both to Zurich and Zug The room was not very clean when I came
Convenient location, friendly hotel staff. Very convenient to have free internet access in the lobby of the hotel, we were able to check in for our flight and have the details sent to our mobile phones, this saved alot of time for us. Nothing to complain about really but it depends on what your requirements are. The room is pretty basic but it was clean and it worked fine for us because we were not staying very long and spent most of our time out and about.
The rooms were functional. I found the stay at the hotel impersonnal and too basic.
I liked the fact there was not TV set in the room. The hotel is in a very quiet village, extremely quiet and nice area. Great place to be. Breakfast - the "sickness" of most Swiss hotels I have been to - the variety is not that rich.
I loved the Kloster Kappel as did my wife and her sister. We had a room for three and thoroughly enjoyed the views from the room over the Kloster garden and the countryside dotted with cows with their cowbells ringing. The Kloster was immaculate and very quiet. We loved the fact that the cafe was open late (11:00) for drinks, snacks, and dessert. If you have a car and want to stay in a wonderful, restful area just on the outskirts of Zurich ((but 10 minutes from the Baar train station) then you have to stay here!! We will be back!! Thank you for a excellent experience!
The surroundings are very nice and quiet. The architecture of the hostel is astonishing, it's a real ancient and well restored abbey. We were kindly welcomed and briefed in our own language (french). The main activity of the Kloster remains bound to religion. We were litterally robbed at the restaurant of the village (outside of the hostel).
Hotel is very nice. Very quiet place, perfect for one stay travelling through Swedzeland. We have specious time.
the ambiance was very special, good double glazed windows that keep the room quiet - the bells of the cows in the area.... so you can get to sleep
I actually liked the fact that there was no TV set in the room and I appreciated the atmosphere of an old monastery. The people in the reception were very nice, the room was big and clean. I think it's a comment for most of the Swiss hotels I have stayed in so far - improve the breakfast :) Bread, some cheese, cereal is tasty but a bit more variety would be nice.
Monastery, great building, immaculatly kept rooms.good bathroom Quiet location, but somewhat distant. Good value for money by Swiss standards Sparse room decoration, no TV small Bed, modest breakfast.
A fellow guest entertained us at dinner playing the flute. The chapel was lovely. Staff was so unclear and disorganized, noone told about dinner served which would have been included. Instead we purchased the only item available in the cafe- potato soup which was good but inadequate. Rooms are very sparse.
Brand new and well designed and for the most part with well equipped rooms. Staff who are happy in their work. Small choice of dinner menu but always cooked and presented very well. Good Buffet breakfast and very convenient hours of service. A little more space for clothing beyond the hanging space. At present it is more geared to business people who perhaps stay for a shorter time than a tourist. Very restricted television channels for the British viewer and BBC World TV News only with sound, however channels 209 and 308 provide the BBC news and BBC1 ( not on their list!)
Thomas was very accommodating, allowing us to use the private hotel laundry facilities. He was always available to answer questions or help us with any problems we may have had. The contrast and juxtaposition between old Swiss and Swiss Modern was a little confusing at first, but overall the physical facilities were quite good.
We got a very nice room with an perfect view over the lake
Wonderfull family hotel. Good location.Very helpfull staff.Restaurant with dainty delicate dishes.
Excellent and very creative food served by friendly staff
The view, the price for the weekend, the friendlyness of staff and the food, the cleanliness. No
Quiet, nice view to the lake. Poor breakfast.
Easy to find & park the car after unloading bags. Wonderful English speaking staff in the restaurant.
The friendliness of the hotel restaurant staff
Hotel away from the city noise, on the hill. Take the bus No. 11 from the train station - about 10 minutes (we were walking on foot). Rooms clean and comfortable. Beautiful view from a window, balcony and terrace for breakfast. Breakfast very modest, only hot tea and coffee (no eggs, scrambled eggs and sausages). In my opinion, too little choice.
All food that I ordered was derious in the restrant. Fruts mix was nice in the morning. Bedmat was new ,latest type.It was nice vie from window. Room was cold,i rentaled small heater. We need a bus /taxi from station.it takes 22chf
Very nice location and very nice hotel. I admired Morgarten. Wonderful place. Breakfast is a little bit poor but the rest are perfect. There is no internet connection in the rooms. But anyhow you can find internet at the local area in the hotel. Otelin oldugu mekan yanı morgarten cok nefis bir yer. Oralara yolunuz duserse mutlaka gorun. Manzaraya ve temiz havaya doyamayacaksınız. Oltanızı da yanınızda goturmeyi unutmayın :). Poor breakfast and there is no internet connection in the rooms.
n/a poor breakfast, rooms are not very comfortable, not notified in advance that we had to move the next day.
The hotel is in what seems to be a sleepy little town about half an hour away from the main city, Zug, and you have to take two buses from the hotel to get there. The ride takes about half an hour one way, and the buses dont run very late or frequent. However, this does not necessarily have to be a problem. The beautiful scenery is well worth it...you have a lake to yourself and the soothing sound of the cow bells on the mountainsides. And although there can be some noise from the trucks that pass, you soon block this out. When it comes to eating, you better stack up in Zug....there does not seem to be much food places in Morgarten.
the position overlooking the lake was great. There was a great childrens playground there.the restaurant was good but expensive like other swiss restaurants. It was three flights of stairs up to our room and there was no lift.
The beautiful Lake side view and panoramic mountains view. Very quite place for relaxation No reception, no staff to refair to during our stay, no manager in charge
Great location and ease of checking-in atmy convenience. No complaints.
We had a large comfortable and very quiet room (superior) with small enclosed terrace and large bathroom with both shower and tub. Easy to find and drive to and parking right under the hotel. Helpful staff. Not much to see in Cham but there's a nice walk along the lake and trains go to Zug and Luzern as well as other places. It was a good place to stop for first night after flying into Frankfurt airport (heading toward Italy). Great restaurant very close. Automatic lighting in bathroom. Too bright and couldn't be adjusted. Lights turned off automatically while I was in shower or bathtub.
I stay here as it is in the town where I used to live. Hence friends and contacts are close at hand. In addition, the hotel is a 5 min walk to the train station and the rail link to Zürich airport and my place of work are numerous and efficient. The fact that it is, at times, a 'self service' hotel and the front desk is not always attended, weekends in particular. Also, the breakfast buffet is the bare minimum, I have had numerous conversations with other guests who were surprised at how basic breakfast was.
That my room was situated very close to the river/creek Lorze.
Very friendly staff, nice rooms, nice breakfast, good location (trainstation nearby). Some streetnoise (+ church bells)
Location very convenient, staff helpful and friendly, kept very clean, free parking under the hotel No tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms
Comfortable, convenient with excellent access to trains, buses and airport. Pleasant staff and good breakfast in Cham with lovely Zug just down the road offereing lots of facilities.
The river beside it, the room was large, the hotel staff was really nice No
Our room was located right along the river and was beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. There was no one to greet us when we arrived at the hotel. We did arrive on a Sunday evening and they did state in the hotel information that there is no one staffed on Saturday & Sunday other than from 8am to Noon. In our experience, the smaller, locally owned places are usually on premises to greet you and are proud owners. This did not seem to be the case with this establishment. We did call between 8am and Noon on Sunday morning to get the exact directions because we did read on the website when making the reservation that others had problems finding the hotel. We did have minor problems, but after finding it, were glad that we had called ahead for the added information about putting in the code and changing out keys, etc. that wer
Cleanliness of the room Noisy
