Cons: It was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hosts, amazing breakfast with homemade apple juice and brioche. Great room and bathroom, spotlessly clean.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were spotless and the bed super comfy.
Cons: The description on Booking.com is slightly misleading as it suggests that the room has a private entrance and kitchen facilities and outdoor courtyard for private use. In fact they are all shared; in practice this is not a big issue as there are only a small number of rooms, but the website description could be a little clearer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and living quarters were lovely and to a very high standard. Helpfulness of hosts was great.
Cons: Perhaps it was our understanding of set up of the rooms but was a little disconcerting to be sat in the communal area and have the hosts just walk in and out, felt this could have been explained to us as we felt very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great modern town house by the Chateau. Friendly host and very good breakfast with local produce.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was easy to find. There was plenty of parking on site. We were made to feel very welcome by Roselyn and greeted with a drink. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and comfortable and was furnished to a very high standard. The breakfast was amazing, plenty to eat, all homemade produce, and not rushed. It was also quiet and had no light pollution outside. Excellent!!

Pros: Excellent one night stay . Friendly , super clear with a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cannot say enough about Le Ferme du bois Paris and Rosalyn Carnis, the owner and hostess of this lovely establishment! We chose this spot because of its easy distance to Chartres From the time we arrived until the time we left, we felt completely welcomed and cared for. Even though we were not able to check in until 10pm, Rosalyne offered us coffee and tea on our arrival, along with lovely conversation and information about the area. The room was super clean and every detail was attended to. We did not need a thing! The following morning a delicious and plentiful breakfast was offered, and Rosalyne gave us a tour around the garden in the back of the property, which has the most beautiful hydrangeas and is "guarded' by the house dog, Lipton who seems to love the property as much as the guests. Highly recommended!!!

Pros: Excellent and friendly host. Great accommodation, would definitely return
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect, our hosts Roselyne and her husband Vincent made us feel very welcome along with our dog Darcey. Despite not arriving until 5.30pm Roselyne kindly gave us the option of joining them and other guests for dinner, a great evening with lovely food and wine.....fantastic!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable the sheets were good quality and very clean and crisp. The bathroom was very nice and clean.
Cons: The noise from the kitchen area downstairs too loud. Possibly not our sort of place to stay but I am sure others might like it. Small room large bathroom. It is a B & B so you are living in the owners house. They allowed our dog but she could not settle as too much noise downstairs.

Pros: The family room was massive, ultra clean, with additional space to lounge around. The house is in an exceptionally quiet area and not too far away from the village. Owners are great and the breakfast a traditional French one, with homemade jams to die for. Kids loved it as the owners have some animals and they were allowed to feed the horse and check on the chickens.

Pros: We had only one night at La Sauleraie, but it's still a very memorable experience. The place is very idyllic with a beautiful (edible) garden, the host such a pleasant man who made us feel at home, made our children feel good as they were introduced to the ducks living at the pond nearby and the horse, and cooked us a very good breakfast. The rooms we wree staying in were very clean and well prepared for our arrival. I can only recommend this place, also for a longer period of time if you want to visit the area.

Pros: The glass of wine and water when we arrived. The hospitality and the lpcation
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, lovely property.
Cons: It was not possible to find a good restaurant for an evening meal within a 10 minute drive. It would be great if Lilli offered an evening meal option as well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful country home in a very small and sleepy village, surrounded by corn farms. Elegant bedroom and lovely bathroom. We loved driving around to explore villages around the area. Host Liliane was super friendly and hospitable. Only one restaurant in the village which closes sometimes, but it's only a few minutes drive to nearby villages, so we were fine with that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a home from home, with Liliane giving us free rein over the entire house and garden. She could not have been more hospitable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host of this B&B type property was very helpful and welcoming. She doesn't speak too much English but that wasn't much of a problem. The lady also helped by recommending a local restaurant that we could take our pet dog along with us for dinner. The room was well presented and clean with the bathroom immediately outside on the private landing. Continental Breakfast was included with croissants and tea/coffee/orange jiuce and cereal. A lovely place to stay for a couple.
Cons: Access to the room was up an open and very steep staircase. Any one with mobility issues would find this difficult to use. Also and very importantly, Chez Liliane is pet friendly and we travelled with our 35 kilo large dog and she flatly refused the stairs and had to be carried both up and down. I wouldn't want to do this again and have cancelled my return booking on this basis.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Croissants were baked in the morning and served for the breakfast. Coffee delicious. Good place to stay for quiet weekend and have a rest from busy world.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Liliane couldn't have been more helpful. The location did mean that it would have been difficult to go out to find a restaurant but she had said we could use her kitchen. She heated up the food we brought with us, setting the table up and even giving us a glass of wine. We will definitely stay there again. She had thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The cabin was very well decorated and very cosy. Bed extremely comfy, and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It was like staying with family. Fresh eggs for breakfast were superb with bread and home made jam, which was exceptional! We stayed here as part of our honeymoon road trip, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again next time we are in France. Although a little off the beaten track, they do offer an evening meal, at a very reasonable price. Sadly, due to travelling, we didn't spot their email until late, so we bought food from the local supermarket and sat in the garden to eat. It was a wonderful stay, and we wished we could have stayed longer!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, cosy, private & comfortable cabin. Ludmila & Claude were friendly & helpful hosts who made us feel at home. Thank you for providing us with an evening meal & for the tasty breakfast. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a separate apartment alongside the hosts house. You have loads of room: a big downstairs dining/sitting room, a lovely attic conversion type bedroom and a spacious private bathroom with a fantastic shower. It's a quiet residential area so you get a sense of what it's like to live in place. Town centre is only a 10 minute walk away (a little longer back as it's uphill!). We didn't have breakfast but I'd wager it's good and the selection of tea available all the time is impressive. Very friendly and welcoming host and a pretty garden you can sit in.
Cons: Parking on site is a little restricted although as it's a quiet residential area, parking on the street is fine. There is space on the driveway and the host was accommodating (we arrived on two motorbikes).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was very well equipped, supplying tea and coffee which was lovely after a long drive. The accommodation was cosy and easy to relax in such a lovely and quiet area. Also close to shops and places to eat, even has a Lidl close by!
Cons: Bed was slightly hard but did sleep okay.

Pros: The host was extremely nice and helpful. The house itself is beautiful like an Oasis in the middle of a small town with huge gardens. Guests are welcome to sit on the patio and enjoy the scenery. The room was clean and had a nice little en suite shower and separate toilet room.

Pros: Our host was delightful (only spoke French primarily but that was not a problem for me). She was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was lovely -' just' continental but the bread and croissants were delicious and plentiful.
Cons: It was a quirky property but characterful. I think I expected something more modern and hotel-like but was actually very happy with our rooms. The bathroom was small but was modern and very clean. The garden was lovely.
9.5 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous garden, the room was spotless and the host gave is the amazing tip to see Chartres at night. Which was fantastic. Host went out of her way to talk English. Would definitly recommend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great stay at Etape Zen on a recent cycling holiday through France. It was a hot day and after leaving my bike in the garage I was welcomed with a cold glass of orange juice. The bedroom was lovely, nice and clean, and the breakfast more than enough to fuel up for the day's riding. Nearby is an Intermarche supermarket and the host (Sandrine?) was happy for me to buy a picnic dinner and eat it on their terrace overlooking their lovely garden.

Pros: The hosts were excellent, warm and welcoming . We arrived late and they offered to cook a meal or give us a lift to the local restaurant . Breakfast was simple with homemade baguette , jams and eggs with herbs , all homemade or freshly prepared out of the garden.

Pros: A beautiful peaceful place with very kind owner, everything was homemade. The apple juice, the jam. Very special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Distinctly different. Antiquity, tranquility, home-produced food and apple juice. very helpful hostess.
Cons: Instructions and signage to find the location. That said, the slight 'treasure hunt' added to the fun!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed before and will return. It's all beautifully French. A lovingly restored Manoir without being pretentious. The host is charming and a great cook. It's not posh rather it's a privilege to be welcomed as friends in such a lovely, yet quirky country house. Wonderfully French.
Cons: It's not a F1 or a Premier Inn. It's so much better.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the reactiveness of the owner of the Guesthouse, and her generosity. She prepared dinner for me (10 valuable euros extra) even though, she wasn't aware nor told by booking.com that my reservation was confirmed. And I had to call for her to open the door. The Italian shower was nice, and breakfast too. I slept in a double king size bed.
Cons: The window of the room stayed open all night and the street light could still be seen all night. The cat was too shy to come but curious enough to look at.

Pros: Very friendly owner. Garage for Motorbike. Beautiful house and garden with lovely swimming pool. Great breakfast and owner even made us a salad supper to save us getting on the bike to go out to a restaurant which was about 5km away. The restaurant/cafe down the road does not open in the evening. The owner has made a great effort to learn English.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Room and shower
Cons: We drove six hours from our property in France arrived at 4.15 pm to find an envelope for our room as hotel closed until 6 pm . The room was not cleaned from previous people. Phoned the number to speak to someone. She couldn’t get hold of her boss. Had to come back at six to get another room. No facilities in hotel to eat or drink apart from a vending machine. Next day asked for a discount for inconvenience. Young lady on reception went into office just behind her and boss said no. I find it appalling that the boss wouldn’t even come out and apologise . That would have been the courteous thing to do .Perhaps she should do a long drive like that and have that sort of welcoming.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome. A second visit for me and perfect for our dogs. We have a room with access to an emergency door that we can use at leisure.. perfect for animals. Also close to a nice little restaurant which easily accessed by foot and welcomes dogs
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety and served in a pleasant room. We had some difficulty finding the hotel but realised that actually it is in a most convenient position - we had made a mistake with our directions. The room was ideal for a short stopover and the shower was very efficient. Staff were lovely and it was helpful that they booked Le Petit Gourmand (next door) for us on arrival for our evening meal.
Cons: Everything was good. If we were staying longer I would book a larger room and may do so in the future.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ideally place for anyone heading through Chateaudun en route either north or south. It's clean, there's secure parking and the price is good. What more could a traveler want?

6.8 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff Quiet place
Cons: Restaurant was closed that day. This was not published in the page. 8 km at least until the next village. Couldn’t find anybody in the morning so I had no breakfast. This is not hotel’s fault but there is no phone signal, only very seldom at some points (checked with 2 different phone carriers)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We arrived early, the host was happy to let us into our room. He also provided us with bottles of chilled water as it was such a hot day. We had access to a shared kitchen and fridge plus an outside seating area. Pleasant breakfast. Good value for money.
Cons: The restaurant was closed on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening. It would have been helpful to know this in advance. Fortunately we had food with us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was great - standard and clean double with a good bathroom. Very friendly staff and the tastiest gluten free bread I have ever had, fresh from the local bakery!
Cons: Only downside was it wasn’t possible to open the window so it felt quite stuffy inside. There is a shared kitchen which was good, hob didn’t seem to work but that wasn’t a problem for us as we could use the microwave. The price felt a bit more expensive than we would expect to pay for a standard room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The village is a fantasy of French rural beauty. The room is comfortable with a well appointed common area. The location feels very safe. Fraze is easily accessed from the Paris-Rennes highway, and is a world away from the hustle of the big towns. The property is located in the exact center of town, within an easy stroll of the church, a park, and a beautiful chateau. Beware the shower without borders, one of us managed to spray the entire bathroom with the detachable showerhead!
Cons: This is not a serious dislike, but the breakfast might have been a bit more than croissants and jam. The coffee is great.

Pros: Good bathroom, quiet location.
Cons: Very low, awkward bed which had a wooden shelf all the way around it which was just right for bruising your shins. Poor pillows on bed and spare pillows were filthy. Restaurant was closed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was super nice and the location perfect. And really good croissants for breakfast.
Cons: The room was very clean but still smelled of cigarettes.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly and very helpful owners. Lady at reception even called and booked a table for us at a restaurant about 10k away in the nearby town. Rooms very clean, great shower and great central heating if you need to dry out. Good breakfast with usual French standard selection.. Would definitely use again..
Cons: Hotel restaurant not open on Sunday evening even with guests staying in hotel. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain and we were on motorcycles so to have an evening meal we had to get soaking wet.. Also need to keep better supply of breakfast tea, floral, lemon and chamomile just don't hit the mark like a good old PG tips. Petty.? Maybe but apart from that, no problem at all.
