Pros: Nadine is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome and relaxed, she speaks excellent English which helped us a lot as our french is poor to non existent (must try harder). The accommodation was immaculately clean and fresh, with a lovely bathroom and fluffy bathrobes. Wonderful views for star gazing and watching the sun set. Nadine gave us a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant by a lake. Breakfast was the best we had during our road trip through France, fresh fruits, yogurts, and she went out early to the bakery to bring back warm fresh bread and croissants. I would highly recommend and would love to return. Thank you Nadine. Mellony and Martyn x
Pros: Beautiful and scenic view from the room. The owner was very gracious and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional.
Cons: I was in the area for business so the only thing that was lacking for me was a workspace. I was only able to sit next to the bed with my computer and paperwork on it so as to tend to my reports.
Pros: Quiet and cosy cabane. Nadine and Philippe are very welcoming and offered us to stay in the very intimate cabane separated from the main house. Amazing view and nature. We will come back for a longer stay!
Pros: Superb room, facilities and breakfast. Hostess Nadine was excellent.
Pros: Amazingly located in a quiet and picturesque area with fabulous views over the hills and the valley, ultimate relaxation, superb host; a place totally worth coming back to :)
In a tree-lined valley in the Corrèze region Chambres d'hôtes Le Moulin des Farges offers an outdoor swimming pool a well-kept garden 5 bedrooms spread over 3 floors and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Pros: The property was amazing in a quiet location but accessible to Maymac and the local lake, which is lovely to both walk around and swim in if you want to. The hosts were very friendly and looked after us well during our stay. This is a typical old french house with loads of charm and character. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat.
Cons: Everything was good, nothing I would change
Pros: This is a fabulous property in the most tranquil setting. The owners are extremely hospitable, the perfect hosts and very good cooks.
Pros: Country charm and great hosts. The owners really go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time. We spent a week with another couple and there was a young family having a great time in the pool.
Cons: Don't expect the Hilton. This is a country place and Rustic. No complaint really but just don't be disappointed you don't have conveniences like air conditioning.
Pros: Fabulous location, Friendly hosts, good food and lovely decor.
Pros: It is a chambre d hotes in an awesomr location
Pros: The house was set in the middle of a forest by a mill pond, and was beautifully furnished. It was quiet and peaceful, and the pool was fantastic. It's a really good spot for walking into the hills. the breakfast and the dinners were delicious and Andy and Georgina were great hosts. We would heartily recommend it.
Cons: They don't take any card payments so that just needs to be clearer on the information. Everything else about the stay was good.
Pros: Location and setting were gorgeous. The meals were home-cooked and wonderful. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. It was trying to snow during the evening (in May!) which came as a surprise after lots of sunshine. However, we were warm and cosy.
Cons: Parking is up the hill and the we had to negotiate two flights of quite steep stairs - to be expected in an old mill house. So arthritic knees and hips and heavy suitcases are not 'the go'. My husband liked the shower but I found it too complicated and spent at least 5 minutes trying to work it out - with both hot and cold experiences while doing so. I also managed to flood the floor at the same time - sorry to our lovely hosts.
Pros: Great hotel: lovely staff and excellent food!!!
Pros: Lovely big clean room Fantastic surroundings Welcome drink Comfortable bed Very warm welcome Fantastic breakfast The owners are bilingual French and English Run by very nice people
Pros: The whole atmosphere was really beautifully.

Pros: The bed was very wide and comfortable, tv was widescreen, bathroom a very good size. The dinner - and in particular the steak - was absolutely amazing, couldn't fault it!
Cons: We would prefer an option to a duvet at this time of year, as it was too warm.
Pros: Everything was

Pros: Very friendly hosts, beautifully renovated property
Pros: A qurky B&B with welcoming hosts, lovely garden space, near a lake, and very comfortable. Excellent bathroom and hot shower.
Cons: Directions - it is the second house after the Chabrat sign, not 'immediately after it'

Pros: The bedroom was spotless and the bed was comfy. The bathroom/shower was fantastic. It was nice and warm in the room, good for this time of year! We also enjoyed a delicious evening meal with the hosts. Breakfast was sufficient, good coffee!
Cons: It would have been good to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. A tv would have been good too, but I understand they are hoping to install them next year.

Pros: Comfortable bed. Nice parking. Easy to be reached.
Cons: Wi Fi not working in my room

Pros: Fairytale location providing just what we expected of a French Château. Really friendly staff and an amazing chef serving some amazing food
Cons: Not so much a didn’t like. But the decor is starting to get a little tired.
Pros: We had read the reviews of this hotel and expected that it would be a little quirky and so we didn’t mind that it was a little “tired” in places, it added to its charm. The location was amazing. It wasn’t too busy when we stayed and the ability to relax in the large gardens, overlooking green fields with the use of a large pool was lovely. A quiet retreat. Staff were very helpful and suggested an early breakfast as we needed to get off early.
Cons: We ate in the restaurant and found the food a little inconsistent. A couple of the courses were excellent whilst others were unfortunately a little under par. Slightly on the expensive side for the quality.
Pros: The setting and surrounding is beautiful. The room with a view was very nice, tidy and clean. Not very nice decoration but it was ok. The castle itself is beautiful, also the dinner room, with stunning view over the property surroundings. The staff for dinner was very friendly. There are playgrounds all over the property, and everywhere are kids playing. A perfect retreat for families and outside of season also for couples I would say.
Cons: The receptionist is not very friendly. The entire property is pretty worn down. The owner should invest some money. The castle is very nice, but the interior and maintenance is on the edge of falling apart. We still enjoyed it, but don't expect a luxury castle setting and interior. But for the price it is ok. The food in the restaurant is pretty average. We ordered beef filet and it did not even look like a filet, and it was covered with a creamy pepper gravy. Not very high French cuisine standard. The starter was ok, Foie Gras, but also pretty average with simple bread cut into pieces on the plate. The breakfast was also not very good. Dry bread from the day before, no croissants, yogurt in plastic packs, 2 pieces of ham, 2 pieces of cheese. The pool is packed with kids and adults and I am not sure the cleanliness. We had a kid too, did not care, but I will just inform anybody who has a bit of a higher standard of cleanliness.
Pros: Great setting, welcoming staff, excellent food.
Cons: For the cost, nothing.
Pros: Fabulous place and situation. The Château is a wonderful building with lots of history and gorgeous countryside.
Cons: The staff are great and the place is very clean. However, the decor is very dated and is in need of a makeover.
Pros: Four of us stayed here on a Friday night our way south in early May. The Chateau is small but lovely and our rooms were very comfortable. Our hosts Bruno and Nicole were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We had a really excellent dinner and a fabulous breakfast the following morning. Bruno was great fun and he and Nicole made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. We left regretting that we hadn't arranged to stay again on our return journey. This place is a gem and I thoroughly recommend it.
Cons: Perhaps our shower was a little old fashioned but we really didn't care because we enjoyed everything else so much
Pros: The friendliness of the staff The marvelous surroundings Tranquility Being one with nature „away from all of it“
Cons: The rooms are a bit outdated and television is no good. But who needs television in these surroundings?
Pros: An unusual place especially end of season. If you want quiet then this is the place. Besides the cawing of rooks and braying of a donkey it is silent. Rooms are large with great big windows views over the wooded valleys. The dinner meals are very good and served in an elegant room. In season there are multiple activities and would be a children's delight.
Cons: The castle would have been wonderful in its heyday. It is still very good but has a tired look in the decor and styled from the late fifties.
Pros: The Chateau is very picturesque with lovely grounds surrounding it. We booked a meal in the restaurant and really enjoyed it. The food was amazing and the staff were attentive. We also had a nice breakfast the morning we were leaving. We only stayed one night but in hindsight we should have booked two or three nights in order to make use of the facilities, grounds and local area.
Cons: The only negative during our one night stay is that a private party, a wedding, arrived at 5pm and used the gardens & terrace (swimming pool area) until 8.30pm. This party then moved to a different area of the grounds. My wife however could hear disco music from 3-5am. Having such a large group in & around the Chateau impacted on our enjoyment of the facilities.
Pros: The Chateau's exterior and public areas are a little grander than its Bedrooms which although perfectly OK - (clean and comfortable) are a tad dated which is a shame as the Chateau it is set in some magnificent grounds, its staff were terrific and the food was great.

Pros: very nice owners! absolut fantastic place!
Pros: breakfast, host and location
Cons: only some plumbing issues, but nothing serious
Pros: Charming castle feeling, ambiance of silence and peace
Pros: Host was very friendly and a great cook!!!
Pros: Very nice well kept French Hotel with direct view on the Soane, in the middle of a very nice town in Burgundi (Grance). Stylish old Fashioned French Hotel and Petit Dejeuner.
Pros: The location of the hotel is great - in quiet countryside area but with easy access from the highway. It's perfect place to stay for a weekend; very comfortable rooms; the chateau has big garden available for guests. Pets friendly place :-)
Pros: Very accommodating for little kids. Lovely grounds and staff.
Pros: The location was great as we were looking for somewhere quiet to relax in. Plenty of space for kids to run around without worrying about car traffic. Accommodation was superb. The room was very spacious with beds on a mezzanine and a large sitting area to relax in. Bathroom was very good too. Breakfast was excellent and the 2 diners we had there were also great. But most of all Frank and Wilma were so nice and accommodating. We were unlucky with the weather but still had a great and relaxing time. Would most definitely go back!
Cons: That we didn't stay there longer!

Pros: Whilst in that part of the world we were looking for an overnight and having found the property meet t all our requirements for an overnight stay with wonderful views over the lake and forest and apart from a car horn going off outside our window at 01.30 . The evening meal and breakfast was all we could have asked for of the hotel.
Cons: There were no issues that we would consider a problem.
Pros: Hotel right next the beach with a great view across the lake. Very popular restaurant with good food and service. Motel style room with a balcony and parking underneath.
Cons: Bathroom needed a bit of TLC.
Pros: Large, comfortable rooms with balcony and fantastic view of lake and mountains. Away from touristy hustle and bustle, Bonigen is full of authentic wooden Swiss homes with incredibly neat gardens. Had a delicious meal at a restaurant around the corner, with true Swiss cooking. Delightful, despite the drizzle and jet lag!
Cons: Switzerland in general is pretty pricey!! But gorgeous.
Pros: Lovely continental breakfast. Great selection of pastries. Really friendly staff: they even called us a couple of hours before our arrival to check if we wanted a table for dinner as the restaurant was getting busy. Bed was really comfortable. Beautiful view from our balcony
Cons: The closing mechanism on the room door was not working properly and the top of the door would get caught on it which stopped the door opening. One of the wardrobe doors had come off its runners. We reported both to reception upon checking out.
Pros: This is a perfect place. The lake is wonderful. Will be back next summer. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff friendly. Overall an amazing stay.
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great food. Lovely location.
Pros: Evening menu was excellent and professionally served by a young staff. View over the lake from our rooms was great.
Cons: Sliding patio doors onto the balcony did not lock. Each section of the balcony was reasonably securely fenced off.
Pros: The peace and quiet of the lakeside location was lovely. The view from the bedroom was beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom smelt a bit musty. The teacups in the bedroom were tiny and had no handles.
Pros: the location in front of the lake / the functionality of the room equipment / the professional atiitude of the stuff / the delicious dinner
Cons: no - everything fully to our satisfaction

Pros: This family hotel was a nice surprise. The owner and the staff are very courteous. The rooms have recently been refurbished. They are suitable for persons with wheelchair. This small hotel even hast an elevator. The bathroom is very comfortable. There is a "family suite" with two separate sleeping rooms. The dinner was amazing, including the view into the valley. The swimming pool allows for swimming, not just dipping.
Cons: The reception is not at the level of the rest of the hotel - but this does even contribute to the family character of the hotel.
Pros: A warm welcome with a complete understanding of our needs. (We speak reasonable French) We needed a very early start for the local brocante so breakfast was cancelled for us. Comfortable old-style hotel. Would happily stay again. La Courtine is a friendly town.
Cons: The room was a little too warm, but it was in the middle of a heatwave and we forgot to open the window, so...... There was nothing to dislike.

Pros: A very nice hotel with generous sized rooms. Restaurant prices were good. Very helpful staff.
Pros: Comfortable room, enjoyable dinner and breakfast, Overall experience very much in accord with website description. Had little time to appreciate them but surroundings are very scenic.
Cons: Proprietor not over-friendly (but always polite). Other staff very friendly and willing to converse with my halting French.
Pros: This is a budget hotel. The bed was adequate. We didn't stay for breakfast, this is the only hotel in town, it's an old, dim, no frills place.
Cons: It's a roadside place for overnight stays, the rooms are tiny, the bathroom is a prefab plastic structure, I didn't expect more, I got what I expected.
Pros: The location. Evening meal superb and great value. Hotel great for over night stop close to motorway.
Pros: the staff (the owner) is very kind.
Pros: It was quite, clean, easy to find, nice surrounding, a lot of place for car
Cons: everything was OK
Pros: Good service and nice meal
Pros: Lovely area to walk in and Meymac is very cute.
Cons: The hotel was in need of redecorating and looked very 'tired'.
Pros: Patron was entertaining. Bike storage good. Restaurant on site which was cheap and food was homecooked.
Cons: Pichet wine expensive at 9euros for 500ml.
Pros: Very helpful customer service. Flexible and able to accommodate our complicated travel plans.
Pros: The English speaking manager was very helpful and even catered for our gluten free, vegetarian diet when preparing the evening meals.
Pros: Warm room, hot water, spacious, good price
Cons: A bit tired, needs a facelift
Pros: I do not see what I have liked at the hotel; this is the worst stay I had in any hotel around the world ;... I have been in, and spent many many nights in hotels
Cons: (No way to see the Hotel sign.) the hotel was closed !!! There was a paper note on one window asking me to call some phone number; my wife used her mobile phone for making an international call; to get a code to enter; I had to find a key in an enveloppe. My room was on the third floor; no elevator; the room was very very small; no place to put any suitcase; the restaurant was closed as well. I was not informed of all that. unbelievable. The soap in the bathroom was not wrapped in some paper. No way to know if any internet was available; there was nobody who cared. At breakfast my seat was against the kitchen door. My car was blocked by a hotel helper car in the parking. I surely miss to report something else unpleasant.
Pros: When we arrived it was closed but information was available for entry. It was my error when booking via the net not to see that it would be closed that particular day.
Cons: None particularly as it would be intersting to see what it is like when fully functional

Pros: Free private parking.
Cons: Rooms without air conditioning and refrigerator.
Pros: Lovely staff and location.
Cons: Like to sit by the window for breakfast.
Pros: The room was okey for staying over night, but was really was worth remembering was its superb restaurang. The food was very good and not expensive at all.
Pros: It was on a hill, which was useful as the starter motor had broken on my motorcycle and it enabled me to bump start the bike.
Cons: Noise from the roadside early in the morning.
Cons: I booked last minute on the booking.com website, which showed a room to be available. Upon arrival, the host made a problem about this and said last minute bookings should not be done as it risks arriving without a room being available (if sold to a walk-in)... I don't think that's acceptable and Booking.com should provide regulations concerning guarantees for last minute bookings. Secondly, the property has a restaurant with a great terrace overlooking the Dordogne river but we weren't allowed to go there to order desert or a small bite to eat. It was busy but we asked a few times after seeing people leave the restaurant and terrace but still were not allowed. The property has no elevator and is not well suited for elderly or handicapped persons. There's no service or help at all with luggage up the many stairs. All in all it was not a friendly welcome.
Pros: Clean hotel, Staff good. Not ce bar and lounge area, Didnt try the spa,
Cons: The hotel had a revamp, downstairs and bar nice but bedrooms not really done well, New clickclack flooring
Pros: Cleanliness and really nice restaurant.
Cons: room was very very small. Not even space for my suitcase!
Pros: Great view overlooking the river in the centre of town.
Cons: Soundproofing in rooms could be better.
Pros: Loved the cleanliness and the very friendly and efficient staff, set in a great location by the river. We used the Spa which is a small, but excellent facility and a welcome treat at the end of the day.
Cons: The bathroom was too small for our needs and unfortunately the mattress which had a dip in the middle was too soft for me.
