10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and surely has a great deal of history. The bed was large & very comfy. The breakfast was excellent, including home made patisserie, which we can't remember the name of. Wish there was more time to use the pool. Shall be back.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely time! Perfect for the dog and the setting and surroundings were stunning!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: M.Morel was a charming patron
Cons: No restaurant or bar
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to hop on and off motorway, Lovely breakfast . Good view from room. Very nice hosts. Good parking on site. Restaurants nearby 7 mins in car.
Cons: Bedroom for us dog travellers needs to have a washable surface.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host with lots of advice about places to see
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and gardens are exceptional. The pool is heated and the couple running this property are delightful and went out of their way to make us, and our dog, feel welcome. Breakfast was good and the owner took great pride in describing the local cheeses. A relaxing and enjoyable overnight stay.
Cons: The room/ carpets could have done with a good clean. Dust had gathered around the balcony doors, under the beds & furniture...but this did not spoil our stay, as the house itself is stunning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s nice to stay in real France
Cons: No complaints
7.0 Good
Cons: We were unable to eat at the hotel that night as they had a seminar on so we had to Go out to eat which was disappointing. We had read how good it was so thus spoilt the whole experience particularly as the food we had was rubbish.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Le Manoir is full of historical charm - a lovely period building set in generous, attractive grounds. Bernard, the host, is genial, attentive and very helpful. Our room was large and airy, with excellent ensuite facilities.
Cons: Le Manoir does not offer an evening menu at present and, unfortunately, the two recommended restaurants were fully booked. After a long day travelling, this was a little disappointing. We would advise anyone wanting an evening meal to arrange a reservation in advance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was lovely and friendly
Cons: Being woken up at 7am by people arriving for a breakfast meeting and the noise they made talking downstairs as well as the cars arriving on the gravel and people then walking across it. Fair enough if it was 9am. The noise of children running above our heads at 10pm and 8am. They were obviouly having fun.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Astrid and Walter keep a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were great with plenty of delicious local, organic produce. Wonderful house and location, incredible views.
Cons: Next time we’d like a room with more of a view and a double bed. But will definitely be going back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1. An old farm barn (stone walls) converted into a rustic Auberge, yet totally modern facilities, bathrooms, rooms, new roofs, new wooden stairs to the lofts. Owners are adding new rooms into the adjacent farm buildings. 2. The overall ambiance of the place, they even have some farm animals and peacocks. 3. Cleanness superior. 4. Decor - the owners traveled the world and the place is decorated with folk art collectibles. I slept in "zebra theme" room. 5. Located on top of a mountain - panoramic views of mountain chains and volcanoes (extinct) are breathtaking. 6. The night skies are fabulous, because of remote location and no air or light pollution.
Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very special place. It's lovely and so are the hosts. Food fantastic. Ethics pure.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the warm welcome, the comfortable accommodations, and the peace and quiet. The views are spectacular! Dinner was delightful--attentive service in a convivial atmosphere.
Cons: Dinner is offered in the style of "table d'hôtes." It was my first experience in the family-style service that brings together both guests of the auberge and private parties who dinner reserved separately. As a solo traveler and one whose native language is English (the other 13 were French speakers), it was a bit of a guessing game how to proceed and where to sit. It worked out fabulously in the end.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely home-cooked food, at dinner and breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing location on a beautiful farm with 12th century buildings. Gorgeous views and lovely grounds. The owners are really friendly! Feel very fortunate to have spent a night there!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Eco-, people- vegetarian- and pet friendly, super food, wonderful unspoiled nature... Astrid and Walter are amazing people full of good surprises. The bread and juice amongst other things are homemade. We really enjoyed our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, quietness, and the dog!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the beautiful natural setting, the warm and friendly attitude of the owners and the excellent home made ecological cuisine.

Whether you come as a family, a group, a couple or for a business trip, you will always be welcomed by an attentive team. With 54 rooms, this 3-star hotel is complemented by a fine restaurant, swimming pool, free parking and several meeting rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff, room, food in restorant
Cons: Bit to expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities Staff Breakfast
6.8 Good
Pros: Our room was in nice quiet outbuilding behind hotel.
Cons: Room small for a quad room.
7.0 Good
Pros: The front desk staff were nice. The hotel's restaurant offered, for once, a kids' menu that had something else than nuggets, thanks for that!
Cons: The hotel was ok for a 1-night stay but it was rather basic. The pool was good for the kids and the breakfast was fine. All in all, nothing bad to say as it was a 3-star hotel stop on a road trip but I would not recommend for a longer stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: We liked the property because it is on the route of our destination in the south of France. It is situated near the highway so we didn’t have to make a grand tour to reach the hotel. The staff was very kind and speed English well. Something you don’t see very often in France. The room was clean and comfortable. Somethings at a bit dated, but seriously good enough for a short stay. We didn’t use the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location close to town centre. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well furnished.
Cons: We got an email the day before our arrival advising that the restaurant would not be open. We were initially pretty annoyed that they didn't let us know sooner as we would have looked for accommodation elsewhere, however it was just a short walk into the town centre and the hotel gave us some recommendations where to eat.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Secure parking and ease of access to motorway. Proximity to town is useful and TV had UK channels.
Cons: Meals are slightly overpriced so we ate in town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently situated off the motorway for overnight stop and easy walk into Issoire. Good hotel , nice garden and swimming pool. Excellent restaurant and friendly efficient staff.
Cons: Lack of staff. The very efficient friendly girl on reception also served in the bar and dealt with all the queries. Our room was good and clean. However our friends room had a pool of blood behind the toilet . Unacceptable. The hotel was full so they could not be moved and there was no manager on duty or anyone available to clean it up. The sole girl on duty n the morning, serving breakfast, clearing up and also checking out guests was extremely sympathetic, agreed it should not have been missed and offered compensation. No complaint at all with the two girls on duty, both deserve a pay rise, but lack of staff, supervision of cleaners, or someone to take charge of problems was not good. It needs to be addressed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Little baguettes hard. Sliced baguettes better. The choice of breakfast is better than any other chain. Having a person on reception 24hours is amazing as we arrived after midnight.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent budget-style hotel, situated just off the auto-route. It is a modern building which offers surprisingly roomy accommodation, modern bathroom and plenty of parking; and with efficient air conditioning ( particularly welcome in the “ canicule”! ).The breakfast is very good indeed, buffet style with plenty of choice. There is no restaurant, but there is a good auberge within easy walking distance. This is a very good value stop over.
Cons: Nothing. This hotel provides what it says.
7.5 Good

Pros: The hotel is in the centre of a pleasant little town with plenty of parking spaces, right outside the hotel. The staff were always available and helpful. The hotel has been renovated, with new carpets and an excellent lift. The breakfast was good, with very fresh bread and excellent croissants. The restaurant menu is adequate and the bar good. There are tables etc outside at which one can eat.
Cons: The shower cubicle was very small. A large person would have difficulty. It was not possible to borrow an iron.

Pros: Lovely staff
Cons: There was no restaurant to get dinner. Luckily we had picnic left from our journey.

Pros: Surroundings, food good ,castle building ,room ,door key was big as a spade ,not quite Hogwarts but really good
Cons: Nothing ,all really good ,different worth a visit
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Children loved the large, clean pool
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great and quirky in a good way. Unusual shower and toilet, very quaint.
Cons: WiFi was very sketchy. Bistro was expensive and very plain, the music was very loud. With smokers stood at the door to the bistro the air wasn't as clean as it should have been
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great setting - good restaurant
Cons: Not much room around bed
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a bed and breakfast within a castle within a campsite! It's a little strange but quite a fun experience. There are 5 BandB rooms and the key to ours had been lost. The room itself was quirky and a little inconvenient - poor lighting etc but bed was very comfortable and, after some adjustments because walls were so thick, TV reception was good. The bistro was a short walk away and, although food choice was limited, it was good as was the atmosphere helped by an old fashioned record player on the bar.
Cons: We visited in September with only a few campers on site. Our experience may have been different in high season when there may have been more competition for places in the pool, at the bistro etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in an old fort was a novel experience. We stayed in the tower room with 4 poster bed and balcony. Great attention to detail in furnishings. Spacious room with interesting decor. We had a meal in the brasserie where old French records were played which aďded to the quirky feel.
Cons: All good.
6.8 Good
Pros: The hosts were very nice and friendly. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was the shower. Location is stunning. Ideal for camping cars and campers. An interesting property. Free and ample parking.
Cons: The property did not meet expectations because the photos are either out of date, or photoshopped. The property is very tired and in need of a lot of maintenance. The hotel side is tired. The restaurant was within the bar area and not as photos show.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a very beautiful place in the forest, near the river, a very beautiful castle! Service is polite! Highly recommend for a holiday with children!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: An interesting place to stay, a neo-gothic chateau in a real sense. The The owner was very helpful with plenty information on the area. The sanitarian amenities were up-to date.
Cons: The breakfast was so so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful find. We were looking for an overnight stay on route home through France and this wonderful Chateaux/Fort came up. It was about 10 mins off the motorway but certainly worth the detour. Run by a Dutch family who were very helpful and friendly. It is also a campsite and is really in a beautiful location. We had a large room with a Juliet balcony, very comfortable. The pool was large enough to accommodate all the families using it. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant which did become quite busy as the evening went on.
Cons: Just a small point, although there were umbrellas around the pool these were secured to fencing which made them difficult to move to try to sit in the shade.

7.5 Good
Pros: A very 'quirky' hotel hosted by 'Eric'. If you like faux in your bedroom - such as a suit of armour, this hotel will suit you fine. Eric maintains the 'chateau' is centuries old. I thought more 'nouveau', with much of the cement only recently dried out.
Cons: The breakfast was traditional petit dejeurner. I would have liked more for my money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic accommodation with a twist and very helpful staff.
6.8 Good
Pros: It was a nice location and the host was jolly.
Cons: It was expensive and the food was a bit disappointing.
7.0 Good
Pros: The property was quirky and our host Eric gave us an enthusiastic welcome. The room was a good size and cool in the summer heat even without an air conditioner.
Cons: No desk to do paperwork or kettle to make hot drinks. Pool was smaller than it looked in the photos.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay either for onward travels or to explore the region. Eric is a great host. Good breakfast & we had a wonderful evening meal. Would stay again.
Cons: All good & thoroughly enjoyable
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quirky old chateau. Genial host. Lovely breakfast with homemade bread
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice little castle with pool, quiet location, nice view, fine breakfast, very friendly host
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner.
Cons: No bathroom door from bedroom! Consequently, no ablutions privacy! No access to property between 11:00hrs and 17:00hrs. This was not a surprise however. Evening dinner was not great value.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place to stay, lovely quiet and tranquil location. The owner is a warm and welcoming host, rooms and the house are amazing.
Cons: You will have to drive out to Issoire or further to eat or get anything. It’s a nice town so not really a bother but there isn’t any restaurant to walk to.

7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, breakfast was adequate. Due to the torrential rain finding some where to park at night was difficult. If I had parked where the hotel proprietor had told me I would have got towed away, as there was a market there the next.
Cons: Parking.
7.5 Good
Pros: ok all round nice place would stay again
Cons: warm breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Small, economic hotel easy walk to centre. Friendly management.
Cons: Nothing really considering the type of hotel - economic, no frills.
4.3 Okay
Pros: We stopped here at the end of a long day of driving. It was a place to rest and little more.
Cons: Very old hotel, not renovated, located off an alley. Uncomfortable bathroom. Basically a small room with a bed. Made the mistake of not paying ahead on-line, and ended up being charged by the owners 10 Euro more that the price on the site. Too much to pay for such a poor hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: I recommend the breakfast! Quiet, clean and very central hotel. Beds were comfortable and the staff friendly.
Cons: The hotel is great, Issoire unfortunately was very disappointing. In August many places were closed and there really isn't very much to see.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The views were magnificent from our room - across the valley to the volcanos in the distance. Its' the second time we've stayed there and will definately stay again. It was a lovely evening and had our dinner on the balcony which was so nice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views from our room. The staff were great - it was hot the night we stayed and we were kindly offered a fan for our room. The dinner we had in the restaurant was also one of the best we’ve had in France! Well worth a visit.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location en route to Spain, easy to find.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was excellent. Great room and lovely to have a bath. A real plus was fresh coffee after a long drive (and tea). Very comfortable bed and pillows. Fab for my two little dogs too.
Cons: The traffic noise from the bedroom prevented me from sleeping. If you are a light sleeper it's not the place for you. Also you need a torch to put in the door code
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here on our way down to Spain. The room was warm and had very comfortable beds, although the bed linen was a little dated It was quite easy to find off autoroute, though the signage was a little small outside property at night. Lovely host, and a very good price for a stopover with a dog. Overall clean, warm and comfortable.
Cons: Although there were facilities to make a hot drink, there were only fruit teas available. It lacked coffee and milk .
4.3 Okay
Pros: Last minute booking whiist touring France. Quiet property mainly used for weddings and parties on weekend with a few rooms to rent in week.
Cons: No-one on site to check in. Rooms very basic and decor and bedding a little shabby.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The place was ok, close to the motorway... Easy in and out access! Staff by the phone was very helpful and polite!
Cons: The place was dirt and the room was dirt, bathroom in dirt condition unfortunately , towels more like cleaning floor clothes and over date food in the food lounge ... The place has potential to be but this time let us down!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: every thing
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical quiet place beside the motorway, very nice views, fast response by mail and text. Definitely a 10!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate
Cons: About the standard of a third rate hostelry, I should imagine. No staff available on arrival and only received an e- mail 48 hours before arrival giving us our room no and entry code. We might never have received this and would have been at a loss on arrival - very unsatisfactory! All very, very basic. On the local road and very and close to noisy motorway and railway line. Had we arrived earlier and not pre-paid we would have left and found somewhere more appropriate. It is probably more suitable for a budget wedding venue rather than B & B guests.
6.8 Good
Pros: Easy to find
Cons: A bit hostel like

Cons: The breakfast poor, someone needs to learn how to cook scrambled eggs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Didn’t have breakfast but evening meal very good
7.5 Good
Pros: Pleasant reception. Enjoyable meal especially the variety on the buffet d'entreés.
Cons: Nothing really
7.5 Good
Pros: I did not see any scrambled eggs
Cons: The paintwork especially for the windows
7.5 Good
Pros: I really like the layout of the rooms. The long desktop is very convenient for maps, tickets, bags etc as well as for any business files. The long shelf top in the bathroom is also particularly convenient. The room was warm (it was a cold day) and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, plentiful and covered all expectations.
Cons: I had to change rooms 3 times on my outbound arrival the previous week as my allocated room hadn't been cleaned. This resulted in a muddle in the keys and I still ended up with a key to the wrong room. On departure homebound the following week , I called by at reception to pay for my breakfast (I had already paid for my room) and was charged €127! This was more than twice the cost of my room AND breakfast! Come on Campanile, up your game.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: While I was very impressed with the help from the staff I was very annoyed with Booking.com for not making the reservation. If the staff hadn’t been so helpful I would have been left looking for alternative accommodation and after a long drive that’s the last thing you need. I will think twice about using them in futures!!!!!
Cons: Booking.com not making my reservations very stressful
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing to do here, just a third rate restaurant next door and a Carrefour
Cons: Didnt like it at all
4.3 Okay
Pros: Well situated in quiet área just off the freeway with a grocery store and restaurants nearby. The staff seemed friendly. On site parking lot
Cons: The room was not very clean, especially the bathroom. The shower was disgusting with black stains all over inside the shower, on the ceiling, etc. The room felt like a claustrophobic cave far from what was shown in the photos and the air conditioning didn't work which in 41º C heat is a big problem. They gave me a ground floor room which gave me no option but to keep the curtains closed if I wanted privacy and I spent the whole time listening to people on the first floor walk back and forth. I'm pretty sure there were bedbugs because I have itchy little marks on me. There is no TV in any language other than French. Breakfast didn't impress much. To be honest, if it weren't because I was exhausted I would have happily checked out and never gone back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with lovely air conditioned room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Well situated just off motor way ideal for overnight stop. Supermarket and petrol station next door. Staff friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to Issoire town pretty park on way.

7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel was a good overnight stop for us on our way home. There is an excellent restaurant next door.
Cons: We arrived on a very hot afternoon to find the air conditioning had broken down. The management were very apologetic and it was being worked on.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Near to the motorway. And cheap petrol at the supermarket the hotel was clean and staff were great.
Cons: It was a shame the menu had some lovely food but we were told it was microwaved so we went to the grill next door. We were looking forward to snails and stuffed mussels.

Pros: Breakfast was substantial
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, easy to find and quiet, Nearby restaurant a bonus, walk out of one door and through another.

Pros: The grounds and the Chateau are absolutely beautiful, the pool is perfect for a cool down.
Cons: Very odd experience. We booked a cabin for my husband and 3 boys to stay for one night on our drive down to Spain. When we arrived there had been a booking glitch, so we were relocated to a 'large bungalow at no extra cost as there were no cabins. The ' bungalow' when we got to it, turned out to be the disabled accommodation. It smelled odd, probably not often used and whilst well equipped with kitchenware, fridge etc it was generally not that clean throughout. We knew we needed to bring our own linen (though I hadn't noticed that when I booked) but the mattresses looked old and 'fusty ', enough so that I genuinely had an issue putting my linen on them ( disposable matters and pillow protectors were provided and we used them!) The kids slept in bunk beds, 2 top and tailed as we didn't have linen to fit the 2nd double or the large hospital beds in the other rooms. The bunk beds were not clean and there were large clumps of dust on the tops of the bed posts etc. We made the most of it as it was only 1 night and drank enough wine to allow me to sleep on the mattress (just home and the linen is in a zipped bag awaiting a boil wash) but I wouldn't want to stay longer. Perhaps what really annoyed me was when my husband went to let the staff know we were leaving and was told that someone would be over the check in a moment! Eh? Check? Check what? I've never stayed anywhere and required a room inspection before leaving. What a sauce
