10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very pleasant stay, the room was beautiful, breakfast was really good and our guests Anne and Michel were super friendly and kind. The outdoor jacuzzi with mountain view was the best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the chalet at the bottom of the garden. Our hosts went in while were out in the day and got our fire going so the place was super cozy when we returned from a walk in the mountains: amazing! Our hosts also provided us with maps for a recommended walking itinerary that was perfectly selected given the requirements we gave him! The breakfast is exceptional too: home-made/grown mint-tea, jam, eggs, smoked-meats. Absolutely wonderful place: we can't wait to go back again! I almost forgot! Hot-tub with views down the valley. Epic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All was great! And the hot tub...with the view over the mountains and ghe valley
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the small chalet and it was one of the best experiences ever. If you are a couple searching for a romantic place to hide and enjoy an amazing view, sound of nature, you should come here. The host Alexandra and her husband are incredibly friendly, nice and make your stay super comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast they serve was all made from homemade/bio products( yoghurt, Marmelade, freshly backed apricot tart etc.) Thank you very much!!!We will come back soon for sure! P.S. The outside jacuzzi with the view on the mountains is speechless.
Cons: Everything was really perfect. The chalet had all you need.

Pros: Ski in ski out. Large room. Great balcony to mountains. Fresh.
Cons: Paid extra for breakfast with a limited selection
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall nice hotel, the room was pretty large and functional. Great shower.
Cons: Soundproofing could have been better with running kids in the room just above, but otherwise it was really quiet. Breakfast buffet was average, nothing felt really homemade. Some local products would have been a nice touch.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean hotel in a great location ( near to the slopes)
Cons: Surrounding area quiet with limited choices to eat/ drink.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super food, Perfect family room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great. Food was excellent. Book a room with the balcony overlooking the mountains and T-bar you will not be disappointed! The quiet location of the hotel made it a relaxing experience... especially at night when you can hear the sound of the little river down below.
Cons: Zero option in the room for making tea/coffee. There is a coffee machine by the reception but watch out, don't help yourself (even for hot water) or you will be charged! No spa facilities available. For the nightly rate I would expect that breakfast would be included (however this is Switzerland & not Austria).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and very friendly staff ( including the dog!)
Cons: Walls not that sound proofed so sleep was distirbed by next door’s party. A kettle and some coffee / tea sachets would be a great addition!

Pros: Location is superb, the views. Thermal Parc for the family with kids is perfect. Restaurant nearby was very good. And if you like hiking or cycling, this area is awesome. The apartment was super clean. The access to the Thermes is very good value. We came during the summer for a short break with the kids, is ideal.
Cons: Nothing really, all was good. Maybe a Nespresso machine with some capsules is a nice to have.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean quiet apt. Location.
Cons: The check in was very time consuming, some checkin machines, or better management may be helpful. Locking system of rooms - a bit strange

Cons: The thermal close a bit early; even we get there 50minutes before it close at 8pm but the staff didn’t allow us to get in.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's decent accommodation. Apartment was clean and spacious. Nice balcony with amazing view. Spa was great, it's big and wasn't too crowded in my case.
Cons: it's a bit too expensive for what you get even for the area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We like the comfort that we had during our stay, and the swimming pool was amazing.
Cons: Actually we didn’t like the bed because it is not comfort any more and it was not suitable for sleeping. There is no air condition, I don’t know if that normal for the citizens but for us we can’t live without AC

Cons: The breakfast was not good at all .

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel le Communal in Val d'Illiez, you'll be near ski lifts, just steps from Portes du Soleil. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our first room despite no mountain views, but the noise kept us awake all night. When we talked to the staff they apologized and quickly gave us another room with beautiful views and a kitchen. We didn't expect this but it was a very kind gesture. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Parking was close to the hotel. Restaurant served an excellent dinner. Breakfast was the usual type of hotel breakfast. Train station is just seconds away. I would happily return again for a stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central for the village
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: Practical room, convenient location, straightforward check-in (a bit too straightforward even) and the excellent food in the Italian gastro restaurant at a decent price. Nice breakfast in a really cosy and "mountain-vibe" room. Great location if you intend to go to the baths.
Cons: The annual carnaval took place about 10 meters from the hotel in the place du village and we were expecting the music to stop by midnight or latest 2am - as the law should apply in Switzerland. The really loud music stopped at 4:45am and an idiot started talking in the mic for another 45 minutes. I even had to call the local police! While the hotel has nothing to do with this unfortunate event, we weren't told about this or informed that there could be nuisance when checking in and the next day, no one bothered to ask or apologise for the noise. Furthermore, when we checked in, the lady just asked us to follow her to the room and we had to ask for every little thing - WiFi, breakfast, restaurant opening hours, walks around etc. we were very much left on our own demise! Finally the hairdryer was broken.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very nice and the breakfast good value for money. Location beautifully picturesque and across square to local bar and parking
Cons: Walls are very thin and the shower/bathroom is small and plastic
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is nicely located in the central Square of Val d'Illiez. Parking available in front or close by. The restaurant has a niec view and a stunning terrace to take your meals. We had a very good dinner with local fresh products, high quality meal and great home brewed beer using the river source. The breakfast is great and the staff is extremely kind and flexible. A real nice place to stay, also in winter I believe
Cons: Nothing everything was great!
8.3 Excellent
Cons: I think we liked everything but there is always a room for improvement- Breakfast was good, few more additions would be appreciated-fried eggs, tomatoes, etc. A common room with a TV/Pool/table foot etc would make this hotel best in class.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is excellent. it's worth the swiss price. The staff is very very friendly. The location is fine with easy packing in front of the building. Room is little bit small, but we as family with 2 small kids were there only for 2 days relax holiday for SPA, very limited time in the room. The Thermes parc is only 5min in driving distance.
Cons: not really, maybe the sound isolation from neighbor could be improved. But, not that bad.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We went on a hike the night after we slept there. Because the room wasn't booked the next day it was possible to leave our bags in the room for the entire day and even take a shower afterwards thanks to the friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host and willing to help you out. Close to shop.
Cons: Restaurant was closed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was nice that the 2 room apartment had 2 bathrooms and a dividing door so we could each have private space. It was also nice that both rooms had gorgeous views of the mountains. It was also nice having proper shutters to keep out the light and let you sleep in :-)
Cons: The bathrooms were a bit odd - all one plastic unit. This meant the shower wet the entire bathroom floor even with the shower curtain drawn. But this wasn't really a problem because it didn't affect the bedrooms.
