Pros: Our hosts Byrne and Alain made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and made us feel at home in their superb country residence. Our accommodation was traditionally furnished, the large king size bed comfortable and the bathroom with rain shower etc, spotless. The large swimming pool in the garden with Sun loungers and umbrellas perfect to relax and enjoy the summer weather. Each day they served traditional French breakfast with wonderful warm fresh croissants, pastries and crusty rolls. Excellent freshly brewed coffee and fresh orange juice to complete the morning feast.
Cons: No complaints- it was all great and would return when in that part of France again.
Pros: Le Domaine de la Millasserie provides elegant, spacious and comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Alain and Byrne are gracious, knowledgeable and fun hosts. We loved our stay there!
Pros: Breakfast, pool, bed, garden, location... All where amazing! Honeymoon or just holiday? This is the best place of France!
Pros: The room was fantastic, the bed was big and very comfortable, the hosts were excellent in making us very welcome organising reservations at restaurants and places to visit. The pool was fantastic there was nothing we didn't like.
Cons: It would have been nice to have coffee making facilities in the room, but I asked the hosts on arrival for coffee which they gave us at no extra cost
Pros: ‘ve enjoyed our stay at Le Domaine de La Millasserie very much (a whole week in one of the most beautiful countrysides of France, in - as the French call it - La France profonde): The accomodation is perfect: Spacious and clean rooms, tastefully decorated and furnished (you realise that one of the friendly and attentive hosts has been a specialist in antiques). The breakfast table in the main house where all the guests gather at nine o‘clock in the morning offers a sumptuous breakfast with the possibility to exchange travel experiences with other nice people from all over the world. French and English are the languages that you can share. The hosts are great with useful hints and tips for restaurants not far away, Michelin star ones and others. They make the reservations and provide you with accurately precise written descriptions how to go there. We especially loved „Le vieux logis“ and „Le bistro de la place“ in nearby Trémolat (delicious foie gras and magret de canard in both restaurants!!!). La Millasserie is „in the middle of nowhere“ (well in the middle of a romantic oak forrest) and all the same a perfect place for visiting many of the beautiful castles, monasteries and other sites worth a visit (including some markets).
Pros: The blissfully quiet location, comfort and hospitality of Bryn and Alain.
Located in Tremolat, Hôtel Le Vieux Logis is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Jardins Panoramiques de Limeuil and Vezere Valley. Pros: Beautiful place very elegant and romantic
Pros: This place is terrific! It is great to have it as an option for food and or staying in that area. The restaurant is wonderful. The service impeccable and the food is exceptional.
Pros: Staff very welcoming
Cons: Directed to a walk which wasn’t particularly nice
Pros: Everything. All the staff are exceptional, they simply can not do enough to make your stay perfect. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with quality toiletries, slippers, dressing gowns, complimentary water and hot drinks. The beds have quality crisp white linen and the beds are super comfortable. The garden, dining room, interior of the hotel and breakfast are all quite special. The breakfast is worth the 25 Euros as their is homemade cakes, fresh strawberry juice etc, homemade jams, quality tea, good cheese, cooked breakfast and again served in style
Cons: Nothing. I would say that it is mostly appreciated by adults
Pros: Le vieux logis is beautiful in every way with the best restaurant in the Dordogne. Do not forget the garden and the pool and the lovely flowers erverywhere!
Cons: After 3 o’clock in the afternoon not possible to eat A little snack al the restaurant of the hotel.
Pros: It’s a beautiful place. Like a country house. The staff are amazing. Incredibly kind and helpful. The food and tea were delicious.
Cons: We’d like more pegs in our bathroom so we can hang things up.
Pros: Deluxe room in 17th century building. Beautifully preserved, quiet, glorious gardens, fabulous restaurant!
Pros: Superb food. Beautiful garden and situation.
Cons: In view of the cost of the room it was a bit small and old fashioned. Very comfortable but rather expensive.
When you stay at La Métairie in Mauzac-et-Grand-Castang, you'll be 15 minutes by car from Moulin de la Rouzique. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful spot, quiet, clean and friendly helpful staff.
Pros: The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the pleasant lady at reception.
Cons: Recommend add Woodford Reserve to Bourbon selection and add terrace portable gas heaters....and a fire burning in the fireplace would add to ambience.
Pros: A first rate establishment - excellent all round.
Pros: Beautifully and tastefully decorated.Very clean- spotless. Very comfortable furnishings. Excellent restaurant.
Pros: Very good food, albeit only offered a 5 course fixed menu and no a la carte though the kitchen would offer a course alternative if required (their choice of food not yours). Breakfast was fine. Staff were excellent.
Cons: Rooms were disappointing. We had the middle category. Smallish space, two fairly uncomfortable chairs, bed was good. bathroom a partitioned area from the room. No outside window and no real extractor (they had a pretty inefficient central air system); Bathroom (and bedroom) clouded in steam after a shower. Rooms poor value.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and wine. Comfortable rooms
Pros: Lovely traditional French hotel, in a lovely spot
Cons: Traditional values and service
Pros: The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very efficient.
Cons: Lovely pool and grounds but no real view.
Pros: La Métairie is a charming hotel in a lovely setting. We enjoyed the small, intimate feeling and welcoming hospitality. The food was fantastic.
Cons: I booked a twin room and in booking sought assurances that there were indeed two beds in the room. However when we arrived we were given a double room and told that as they were full there was nothing that could be done about it. It was disappointing and out of keeping with the rest of our stay that there was little by way of apology or offer of discount.
Pros: Fantastic relaxing hotel, Immaculate service>
Pros: Upon arrival we were greeted by the charming receptionist who directed us to our room. The first impression was lasting. The staff, particularly Florence were enchanting and made our stay of 7 nights memorable.
Located in Limeuil, La Rolandie haute is in a rural location, a 1-minute drive from Vezere Valley and 6 minutes from Jardins Panoramiques de Limeuil. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent all round accommodation!!!...
Cons: I did not like leaving, beautiful and peaceful location!..
Pros: Beautiful location close to the lovely village of limeuil. Great pool.
Cons: Not easy for dinner if you would like to enjoy the local wine as well as food
Pros: Good room decoration, breakfeast was very nice and we had a good talk while at breakfeast
Cons: Property is in country could benefit from TV set for evening and the village close by as no grocery shop or restaurants so a small kitchen access could be useful
Pros: Nice decor, excellent breakfast, peaceful rural location yet close to town
Pros: We were well received by Stefan, who showed us to our room. A row of ground floor rooms that look out over the fields and pool. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom with walk in shower was very clean. Very quiet and peaceful. We didn’t try the pool as it was raining but it looked fine and was clean. French safety laws require the pool to be covered at night and this was done too. Great continental breakfast with lovely coffee and choice of teas. Well presented in white linen tablecloth. We enjoyed our night here. It’s very handy for the village which has some interesting bars. We dined on the ricer front and the food was fine and cheap by french prices. There is no eating in the rooms only drinking. So if you want an evening meal get it at the village or buy it en route. Lidl, intermarche in a small town about 3 miles away. Check maps for your own preferences.
Cons: Not much to dislike here.
This B&B is set in a typically Perigordian stone house in the centre of Limeuil, a medieval hamlet in the heart of the Dordogne department. Guests have free Wi-Fi and are invited to enjoy a drink under the trees on the terrace. Each guest room is set on the ground floor and offers views of the surrounding hills and valleys and includes a flat-screen TV. All rooms are equipped with work desks and private bathrooms with showers. Regional specialities and traditional cuisine can be enjoyed in the restaurant’s dining room or on the terrace. A continental breakfast is served every morning at Au Bon Accueil. The B&B is set just 500 metres from the banks of the Dordogne and the Vézère rivers. The city of Bergerac and the Bergerac Train Station are 42 km from the B&B.
Pros: Fantastic location, clean, cool in hot weather, comfortable bed and good bathroom suite.
Cons: I liked everything but a wardrobe for clothes would have been more helpful.
Pros: The couple who run this place are so friendly and genuine. Its rustic France rebooted. All the charm from yesteryear but with really modern furnishings and facilities. A very good evening meal and wonderful breakfast
Cons: They can't help it, but its quite a steep climb up the hill to where its easiest to park
Pros: Location was great. Breakfast also.
Cons: Room smelt a little damp... But otherwise OK
Pros: Delightful experience especially the restaurant staff for dinner and breakfast.
Pros: Free breakfast and staff very cheerful.
Cons: Small room compared to other places we stayed during trip in Southern France.
Pros: Limeuil is a unique village on a hilltop overlooking two rivers and is very popular for visitors. The B&B is situated nearly at the top of the hill. The room was OK, clean and comfortable and situated in a separate building from the restaurant. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was very busy with visitors proving its popularity. Breakfast was in the same place but was more limited and less busy. Worth having a look around the village if you have the time.
Cons: Firstly, our sat nav could not find the hotel location and when it did we got caught in crowds of tourists in very narrow lanes. Parking outside the rooms was very difficult as a result. Parking nearby was full with tourists so maybe our timing was bad.
Pros: Good price for the accommodation. We ate in the restaurant and it was superb food.
A19th-century stone house set in the Black Périgord region, Bed & Breakfast Le Moulin Neuf sits in a 15-acre park. It offers a terrace, daily breakfast and free Wi-Fi throughout. With a view of the garden, the rooms at Le Moulin Neuf feature en suite facilities with a bath tub or shower and toilet. Bed & Breakfast Le Moulin Neuf is a 20-minute ride from Les Eyzies and free private parking is provided on site.
Pros: I spent a few days in Le Moulin Neuf with my family, and we were absolutely happy with everything that the place has provided. The house itself has an idyllic forest spirit, but is located just a few minutes drive from two lovely old villages, both could easily be on the list of "the most beautiful villages of France", and they probably are. Robert, the owner, is one of the friendliest and kindest people that I have met, and he made sure that we liked every bit of our stay, providing great recommendations for the area. I would absolutely recommend Le Moulin Neuf!
Pros: Robert the owner is an excellent host
Pros: The owner Robert and the lovely grounds.
Pros: The place is beautiful
