La Maison De Marie-Claire - Doncourt-sur-Meuse - Building
6
8.9 Excellent (188 reviews)
7.0 Good
Pros: If you like "home" type accommodation then it is all for you! IT feels like at home. I think for family with kids it is excellent. The host lady is super friendly and kind, she prepared large, but simple dinner (reasonably priced) and large but simple breakfast. House is large, quiet and clean.
Cons: I do not like "home" atmosphere, I was looking for cheap one night stand. Although house was beautiful and host was very friendly, it felt awkward, like in someone's house. It was also awkward that I was placed to eat dinner at the table with other guests, dinner for all at the same time. I was dead tired, I wanted to eat quickly and go to rest, but had to be social friendly... Not very comfortable... Perhaps I should choose motel instead, but in this location there is no cheaper alternative available.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The garden was wonderful, pretty and with room to at for the kids. The indoor playroom was messy, but great for the kids. The dinner was delicious and sumptuous, with many course, excellent cheese, and fresh vegetables from the garden.
Cons: The dinner for our kids was served too late, despite prior agreement by mail for a (relatively) early meal. Probably due mainly due to different habits between our countries. However, in the end all was well, and our kids enjoyed the stay.

Pros: Lovely renovated chateau with large room/bathroom located in a rural environment. Food was exceptional in this family run business. WiFi in our room was good, not so in some areas.
Cons: Closest banking facility some 10 km away so when credit card facilities were unavailable during our visit, when not expected, this was an inconvenience. No TV but this was not an issue for us.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and help us to feel welcomed all the time. The family room was very spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. Breakfast is plenty and good and parking is convenient.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The charming little place has a great kitchen and the friendliest owner/operators. They went way beyond the extra mile to help us, especially when it became clear we forgot the phone charger when we left. That was vital in having the smart phone have juice to translate for us! Definitely recommend if you want to escape corporate accommodations and want a great base to explore this part of France.
Cons: That I had to leave again so soon. And that I don't speak French to have a proper conversation with the great and super nice proprietors.

Pros: Very friendly hosts.

7.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, lovely rooms (we stayed in the African room - very comfortable, with nice homely touches). Also great hotel for business people staying longer and wanting to have a home away from home. Heated pool from April-October. Set in a town with a wellness-resort, shops are next door, and the countryside and woods are just around the corner. Only 20 km away from the A31, so also a good place for spending the night en route to the south of France. Worked very well for us.

Pros: Friendly reception L
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at Les Voiliers twice before though not for the last 5 years. I think it has changed hands and has been refurbished since our last stay. The building is not beautiful in a traditional sense but it sits in the most glorious position overlooking the Lac de Peigney just outside Langres. After several hours on the motorway it is a haven of calm and a wonderful place to stay. A number of the rooms have little balconies overlooking the lake and the hotel dining room also has panoramic views of the lake. The rooms are quite small but spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. The food in the restaurant continues to be very good - in the Logis tradition and breakfast includes charcuterie, cheese and local conserves. A walk around the lake - built to top up the canal system is a lovely way to start or end your stay.
Cons: The refurbishments have seen the installation of new bathroom equipment - very modern and slick but oddly the shelves protrude over the washbasins so far that cleaning your teeth becomes a bit tricky. It is however a small price to pay for such a tranquil setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the comfy room, the friendly staff, the marvellous dinner menu and service
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The dinner was exceptional but I left before breakfast unfortunately.
Cons: Walls are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place and the food is excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Les Voiliers is a delightful small hotel on the edge of a reservoir/lake. The rooms are simply decorated and furnished but very clean. There is air conditioning which was very necessary on the evening I arrived in a temperature of 33 degrees. The bedroom which I had, number 4, had a small balcony with a lovely view over the lake. Dinner in the restaurant was of a very high standard of cuisine. The waitresses were all efficient, charming and polite. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of products. The hotel does not have private parking on site. However, there seems to be adequate free parking available in the municipal parking just forty yards from the hotel across the road.
Cons: Nothing at all!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast a little on the expensive side.
Cons: No complaints-but there have been changes of ownership over the years we have been staying here.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Thé view
Cons: Thé high prices of thé restaurant
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Limited range of items at breakfast, but good quality. Wifi didn't seem to be working but it was late so I didn't raise it with the staff. Im sure that if I had it would have been resolved.
Logis Jum'hotel - Saints-Geosmes - Building
17
7.9 Good (1,046 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Saints-Geosmes, Logis Jum'Hotel is in a rural location, within a 10-minute drive of Silière Gardens and Langres Cathedral. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Yum'hotel is located in the small, quiet village of Sts. Geosmes, about 3 km from Langres. It is easily reached from the motorway, and makes a suitable stopover for one night. The hotel has a small, partly covered swimming pool. Our "superior double" on the ground floor was air conditioned, and the room was pleasantly cool upon arrival (outside temperature around 35C !). Spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. The modern Atelier Grill restaurant is within walking distance.
Cons: No tea or coffee facilities in the room. WiFi was rather slow, perhaps because our room was located at the very end of the hallway. The swimming pool closes a bit early, at 20:00. Atelier Grill was the only restaurant nearby, and somewhat overpriced. You might want to go to the centre of Langres for additional options.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location good
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: clean room, linen crisp and fresh, good breakfastIdeal
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property seems to be listed as being completly air-conditioned but only rooms above ground floor actually are. Our first room was on the ground floor and this was in the week when France made 45.1deg. C! However on my request the patron gave us an air-conditioned room straight away, which made all the difference. We were most grateful! The restaurant next door is very good.
Cons: It could be made clearer that only first floor rooms have a.c.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Parking
Cons: Rooms tiny for 2 people, reception couldn’t cope with group bookings
4.5 Okay
Cons: Have stayed here about 4 times before but had never booked. The last time we tried to get in it was fully booked so this time we booked well in advance. We were very disappointed when we arrived to find we were in the Disabled Room opposite the bar. We arrived just before 7.00 pm and told there wasn't a table available in the restaurant until 9.30 pm - this isn't what you want to hear when you have just driven 440 miles - 200 of which was in a horrific storm! We decided to try the restaurant any way and were immediately shown to a table. One of the reasons we have liked this hotel in the past was due to their lovely quaint little restaurant in the village but now that has closed and a larger one has been built next to the hotel. We paid over 15 euros for a few slices of grilled chicken, a bowl of lettuce with a dressing on it (might of had carrot in it as well), chips and a roll - rather expensive and not at all like the wonderful dining experience that we used to get.
7.5 Good
Pros: We stopped here for one night on our way to the South of France. Clean, comfortable and very accessible from the main route. The staff were very friendly. There is a restaurant on site too.
6.3 Good
Pros: A friendly atmosphere and dogs are welcome and there is quite a nice restaurant 50 meters away
Cons: Difficulty finding the hotel when coming off the motorway at Lengres south. The duvet was much to thick and too hot for summer. Breakfast was only continental but as the only Brit. it was ok for the mainly Dutch. and French customers, however it would have been nice for a fried egg and bacon.A
7.0 Good
Pros: Light room. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast and good restaurant next door.
Cons: Room a bit small but wouldn’t put me off returning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a car and boat trailer and needed somewhere that was capable of parking securely overnight both the car and the boat trailer. J'um Hotel was perfect for this. Close to Langres, we were able to uniock the trailer and take the car into this medieval town, which was great. The new restaurant was close by, reasonably priced and had a good selection of food and wines.
Cons: No air-con in the room

Cons: The shower was difficult to control temperature.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A fascinating little hotel; I think 'unique' could best describe the decor (sort of sub-Tim Burton in paces), but a nice room with a very modern bathroom. Great location in a wonderful little town.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Having to climb two flights of stairs. It might be a good idea for the 'elderly' traveller to ask for rooms with limited stairs to climb!
7.5 Good
Pros: The swimming pool!
Cons: The bed was much too hard and we couldn't sleep properly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff; nice shower - quirky mix of olde French with modern touches. Excellent location + secure off-road parking. Had pool, but did not use it. Take light overnight bag as lots of stairs . Food plentiful and quite tasty.
Cons: Lots of stairs and windey narrow passages to get to our room.

Cons: The room was perfectly acceptable, but the decor did seem rather old fashioned
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent traditional family-run French hotel, with style. It was extremely well located, very clean, had an amazing breakfast, and a really good restaurant serving traditional French food and also Mediaeval dishes. Quirky, charming, it was the perfect start to our French holiday. By the way, Langres itself is wonderful. A magnificent walled city, with Roman and mediaeval walls and gates. Stunning views form the ramparts, little streets and alleys, delightful buildings. Truly a find.
Cons: There was nothing that made me say "I wish" or "If only". I was delighted with the hotel and thought it was excellent value for money.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and tradional, in the centre of Langres, which is one of my favourite cities in the Bourgogne. Old-fashioned, and therefore so typical, great rooms, especially in the back, far from the noice....
7.4 Good
Pros: Calm and sraight forward sevice
Cons: The menus displayed in the windows were almost poor quality enough to dissuade me from dining. However the actual service and food quality were perfectly good!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and atmosphere

Pros: Everything, 2nd time for a visit

Pros: Have been stopping here for many years on the way to the south. It's an attractive, traditional introduction to real France. The restaurant has an interesting range of well-cooked traditional and local specialities It is good that the hotel is being renovated; some of it was getting a little tired.
Cons: On this occasion, the heat. France was in the middle of a record heatwave.

5.0 Okay
Cons: The beds had still sheet from the last renter. They were dirty and with hairs. So really not welcoming for a place where we had only one goal: sleep to take to the road again the day after! So we changed them ourselves while it was already midnight.

Pros: Cosy and clean
Cons: NA
