We enjoyed our stay at "le Chardon Bleu" very much. The owners are very hospitable (offering us a nightcap on our late arrival) so we prolonged our stay. We very much recommand the Chef of the hotel, who won several haute cuisine prizes (displayed on the restaurantwalls). From the restaurant we had a beautiful view on the valley of the Bonne. From our breakfast terrace we looked upon a beautifull medieval stagecoach auberge. We did fantastic walks ( f.i. along a historic water canal embedded in the mountainsides) and bicycling tours up the pastoral valleys of de Col d´Ornon and Col de la Morte. Ending our days at the nearby swimming lake. For us a great tranquil place for active leisure to return to. Thanks Lisette en Rokus, the Netherlands
The location was excellent. They were very helpful with our late arrival and spoke excellent English. They also did not require a week long stay as many other places in the area did. This had to be one of the smallest "family" rooms we have ever stayed in for the price. The breakfast was also very minimal even for a "continental" breakfast in Europe.
The service was superb, we had dinner there one night which was excellent and great value. The location for the slopes is excellent also. We would recommend this hotel as an excellent place to stay. i wouldn't recommend this hotel for families though, it's definitely a couples or group hotel.
lovely friendly staff but the hotel was a little 'tired'
Great loctaion The bar closed at a different times every evening depending on the social life of the staff!
The price and the location
Easy access, easy going. Please open the bar before 5pm...
Great location - perfect for hiking, amazing views from the hotel and the whole village. Very friendly staff, always willing to help. In total - great place for active holiday
The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel has a magnificent view from the rooms with balcony and in general is very well located. Some room equipment could be renovated.
Clean, comfortable and good value
Very good staff. Good quality food. Room was small and the lifts were very slow.
good location the rooms were far to osmall for the amount that we paid and smelled of mould. i think that the carpets needed replacing.
Convenient access to Les 2 Alpes slopes and lifts, good prices, inclusion of half board buffet which was relatively good considering the price. Also the bar is very nice and the selection of local wines was good.
The staff were very accomodating
The food was good. There was no service whatsoever, the staff did not have a clue about anything, they couldn't give any information about anything in the village, no taxi service or taxi's to call and located half way up the mountain gave us no option to go out in the evenings. No babysitting service or could they offer any help in getting someone, so I asked in another hotel in village who where more then happy to help even though I was not staying there! Babysitting service was stated on the website. No pool or gym which i was made to believe from the website, and one of the reasons i booked this hotel. I could go on and on, very disapointed in hotel, and would strongly advice to stay away from.
Excellent staff, location and food was varied and of excellent quality My husband is 6ft 3 so was unable to shut loo door as so small!
Comfortable room, good breakfast, excellent staff, activity programme Buffet dinner service
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, quite and charming. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Nice spa. The rooms were quite small.
The location was not the best, and the description on the website was not clear enough.
Very nice, confortable hotel Room didn't have a view
Excellent food, interesting menu (Gratin of Donkey's Ears!!!) The rooms were fine but were beginning to look a bit tired and in need of sprucing up.
Good location. Quiet. Friendly staff. Excellent value menu with very good food. Good basic facilities as one night stop-over en route. Good value overall.
its a nice place ,beutful landscape, nice village near by, swimming pool, friendly staff, good food. The missing of english spoken staff.(it was better before)
Beautiful location overlooking the old town of La Mure - friendly staff -comfortable room - small pool - excellent dinner menus from ? 17.50 - substantial buffet breakfast None
We were pleased with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
Good kitchen. Helpful and nice staff who tried to understand
THe room was terrible. It is old and smelled with cigarettes.I would only go back for the food in the restaurant. It was magnificent!
The food, we had breakfast and dinner, is very good and the staff very friendly. Every evening there was a very good menu and if you didn't like something it could be changed. We had the Superior Room. Easy access from and to the slopes from. Great hotel!! There is(was) some missinformation on the booking.com website about a discount for this hotel. There is no discount for this hotel. No fault of the hotel.
Excellent food and great location in the resort. The rooms are small, the bathroom is tiny and the wifi was very spotty, and did not work at all in the rooms. In 2011, when people sometimes have to check in and work when on vacation, not having wifi in the rooms was really a huge inconvenience. For this reason alone, I probably won't be able to go back, despite the fact that I loved the food and liked the hotel.
Food and location in Les Deux Alpes
The hotel is well located at the top end of the ski resort (at the Vanosc end). It is opposite the public elevator that takes you down to the part of the village where you then walk (2 minutes) to the Diable chairlift. It is also next to a staircase that takes you up to the chairlift on the other side of the village, so you have easy access to both sides of the mountains. The hotel is also only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop (Drop Off point Number 4 on the coach company map). The hotel has a cellar storage room for skis and stuff with lockable cupboards to secure your skis/snowboard. There is also a ground floor door from the cellar direct to the street outside. The rooms at the front have a generous balcony. To get to the hotel reception you have to climb a set of outside stairs (or the internal stairs from the basement). Although I was staying on the ground floor (Reception Level) I noticed there was no lift to the upper floors so people with difficulty in climbing stairs may struggle. The hotel staff does help carry your bags to your room though. The hotel is located next to Smithy's Tavern so you should expect some singing in the early hours (around 0430 hrs!) as people leave the pub, but they quickly pass by.
Hotel is well located and staff are helpful. Hotel is very basic, bathrooms are tiny.
There was somebody available at the reception at midnight to let us in at late arrival Far too expensive in regards to: size of the room - comfort -bathroom facilities
the hotel was warm, well laid out. nobody on reception at 4pm - maybe this is normal. i didn't receive a late key until after the second night.
An extremely pleasant hotel in the most stunning of settings. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and took the time to provide some excellent advice regarding he best places to ski in the area. The food was absolutely first class The only small complaint I would have would be the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Excellent food and great service with warm and friendly staff. It was a great value for money and we can definitely recommend this hotel.
The owners were extremely helpful, food was delighful and the room was excellent. Rob and Dirk run a great place and I would happily stay there again.
The hotel is one of those "little spots from heaven". It is very nice, you feel right at home, the food is superb and the service is excellent. They take you skiing in the morning and pick you up in the afternoon. For the after-ski the hotel has a very nice bar where you can have a drink while discussing daily events, while waiting for a superb diner.
Simply put we loved our stay at Le Cassini. We came for the Alpe D'Huez climb and I recommend all cyclists to stay here. The food was wonderful, the rooms charming, and the staff very friendly. You can't go wrong.
The location is perfect for all high mountain sports & scenery. The breakfast & Dinner were included & the food was great. Rob is an excellent chef & all the staff were very friendly & helpful.
The location in the alpes was perfect for out bike rides. We were able to access the classic climbs of the tour right from the hotel. Nothing, my expectations were exceeded in all areas.
The good things about the hotel are the hotel staff (they were very nice and helpful) and the food (the food was really excellent). On the other hand, the room was not very clean and there is absolutely nothing you can do in this village. You have to take a bus (15 - 25) minutes to reach Les Deux Alpes.
