We only stayed for one night but this was extremely pleasant.
Good on route stay as we are driving from the north of Spain down to the Costas.Offeres private parking and great quality accomodation. One member of staff in particular pretended not to understand english or our attempt at spanish ( we knew he could speak perfect english ) - not good for customer service.
It was a lovely little hotel in a small town away from the noise and pollution of the city. Charmingly decorated. Very friendly proprietor. We were looking for a quiet retreat with great Spanish flair on the last night of our vacation and found it at La Ochava.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very large and beautifully furnished. There was plenty of private parking available. The hotel was very dog friendly. The only comment, not a complaint, was that the room was quite cold overnight. We don't like to have the air conditioning running all night. Also there was no bath plug.
stayed overnight on route home from a visit to Madrid, everything matched our requirements - reasonable rate, convenient and a good breakfast. But the location of the room was disappointing. A very noisy fan outside the window kept us awake most of the night. The room was very good but outside the window was an extractor fan that ran all night. I did not sleep at all well. It may not be the hotel's problem but it was a huge problem for me. I will recommend the hotel to others, especially when on route o and from Santander, but tell them to check which room they are assigned.
Very friendly welcome and a beautiful room. We had our dog with us and she was made to feel as welcome as us. Brilliant.
Quality of the room, cleanliness, friendliness/helpfulness of staff, closeness to main autoroute north No gardens or grass area to exercise my dog
Very peaceful Spanish people were very helpful in telling us good places to visit each day and were interested when we returned! The swimming pool is only a childrens rigid sided pool, no grounds to sit out to speak of. There was no restaurant in the Hotel only across the road and quite expensive. The breakfast was good.
Very modern, nice room with great appointments. Staff was helpful, some language difficulties. Room lighting was hard to figure out (switches)
new, clean and with nice contemporary design located outside the town centre close to a junction and gas station - 10-15 minutes walk to the centre
Location next to old town and business offices nothing
The hotel is very nice and clean. It´s completely new and the design is very nice. The room was big an clean. The breakfast very good.
- I did not like the layout of the room. It looked good but it was not very practical.
Very convenient to Alcala and with parking on site was ideal for what we wanted. The entrance to the hotel was hard to find on our first visit but easy there after.
The hotel was modern, clean and the staff was excellent.
We toured Spain and stayed at 5 other hotels and hostels, and found this to be the best of them all. Providing the bufett was welcomed after a long day on the road
Very comfortable and ideal for Madrid Airport. Transfer also very reliable.
We stayed in Avant Torrejon for one night during our long trip. The hotel is close to the airport but you can sleep well and rest, because you don't hear anything.
All very modern, friendly staff A little bit far from the airport, but they have a free airport shuttle service that is very good...
Freindly staff, great value, neat and clean.
Comfortable, clean, free shuttle, value for money.
Excellent hotel at an excellent price. The van for the airport shuttle is small, so sign up early. New, nice and not expensive.
Friendly staff, free shuttle was on timeboth ways, very clean, very quiet. The buffets were awful. Tasted like processed or out of a box food. Not worth what you are charging. I would return but I would not eat here.
Shuttle service,helpfull staff.
quality of room furnishing very bad airport shuttle availability. Did not book it before my stay and paid 2 x 30 euro return for taxi. Thin room walls.
clean, very comfortqble room, great value, very good breakfast have to book shuttle in advance. when we got to airport, shuttle was in use and had to take taxi to get to hotel- clerk was not too helpful about any other choices- this was one of the reasons we stayed there.
Modern decor and excellent bathroom plus location next to the train station but not at all noisy Slight odour in room (maybe floor polish as the floor was wood effect)
Friendly staff, nice room, free internet pc use. Gloomy corridors, uncomfortable bar area.
Nice hotel in a not so nice town
Clean, comfortable, next to a few shops and restaurants, next to train/bus for Madrid centre No wifi in rooms. Internet based on cable connection - the cable was very short and had to sit next to television to use.
Nice rooms. Was not actually close to the airport, the cabbie said it was 20 km away. We arrived at 10 pm to the airport and we waited over an hour for the "free shuttle" which actually turned into a $55 cab ride once we realized the free shuttle was not coming.
Good, modern room/bathroom, good design. Gym small but good enough for a general workout. Food barely acceptable. Too high priced for being outside of Madrid (Torrejon is a town of its own, separated from the Capital)
Pillow menu - nice soft pillows. Nice shower room. Hotel did allow us to swap our first dinner for breakfast the following morning as we were due to arrive too late to have dinner on our first night. Half board was actually evening meal only, which had to be taken in the cafeteria (not the room). Cafeteria was noisy (loud TV) & smokey. Curtesy bus not available weekday nights or anytime over the weekend. Poor lighting late at night made getting into our room diffucult. No trouser press or DVD player in our executive room.
I booked this hotel because of the free transfer which must be booked well in advance. We were picked up at the mini bus point outside terminal 1 and they returned us to the Airport at 4.30am the following morning. It was nice to have the stress of getting to the airport at that time of moring removed. An excellent service well done. The meal in the cafeteria was disappointing. I ordered a hot club sandwich with chips but it was cold when it arrived and my partner ordered a pasta dish which came when I was half way through my meal. When the pasta dish arrived it was shell fish with black pasta and my partner hates shell fish so he had to eat the rest of my cold club sandwich and I ate the pasta. An english menu would be useful
Excellent location, close to all historic sites so easy to walk around. Car parking was ample in locked garage. Good selection of food in the cafeteria. No
It was a nice modern hotel
Ultra modern and very near for sightseeing.
Beautiful design of rooms, wonderful sense of space and very friendly staff. The price / quality ratio was very good.
hotel is close to center and main attraction (althoguh not properly a touristic city) Quality of breakfast was poor; room was a bit noisy as was on university square
Great Location.Spacious rooms.Friendly staff. Although a very good breakfast it was a bit chaotic as only one person seemed to be in charge of breakfast and the attached cafe and bar which was very popular.
Proximity to Old town. Comfort of hotel. Lovely old bar. Friendly staff. Access to hotel. Car park 10 minutes away.
The hotel was very central to the town, with all amenities close by. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and the staff were approachable. The hotle was very good value for money, and I would happily stay there again.
Cleanliness of the room, nice surroundings
Beautiful old building in the centre of a lovely historic town. Staff were rude and had no concept of good customer service.
location expansive for services
The location in the historic centre of Alcala is excellent. Free wifi and a busy bar make this a good bet for a traditional central stay.
The location was excellent. It was in the center of Alcala which is where most of the businesses were. The room had very uncomfortable beds and the room temperature was uncontrollable and extremely hot for our liking.
everything - perfect location and hotel
It was very central between Warner Park and Faunia. It had an excellent breakfast.
parking very good, proximity to metro station ,400m. Location just off e901 and m50 very easy to find ,rooms very clean and comfy, handy for overnight and visit to Madrid.Staff speak english and are very helpfull Breakfast was ok but very basic continental not any hot food,Bar closed very early and felt like you were being a pain asking for drinks last thing at night as you had to ask recption to get some bar staff
Very friendly staff Breakfast not very good. Please don´t use bimbo bread.
The bedrooms were clean and bedding decent. Bathroom gave me a good shower which is very important to me. Nothing. I thought it was great.
free parking was a plus, resturant was pleasant. no non-smoking rooms,
A very spacious, comfortable room. Welcoming and helpful staff. Good location, free parking and wifi. Very good price for the standard of accommodation and service.
The hotel promotion pictures are old and misleading. The hotel is dark, dingy and not terrribly clean. The rooms reeked of cigarettes and the managers answer to our complaint about the 1 st room was to move us to another room, but only after spraying an obnoxiously sweet deodorizer to mask the tobacco odor. What a dive. The hotel also advertises being only 15 minutes from the airport, but upon check-in we were informed to leave an hour. Ended up taking more than 2 hours due to rush hour traffic and we missed our flight. We generally stay in budget minded hotels, but would not recommend that anyone stay here!
Very friendly, helpful staff. Front desk manned 24 hours. Free off-road car parking. 20 minutes walk from Alcala centre. This did not worry us in the slightest, but could be an issue with children or the elderly.
Friendly staff, the hotel was easy to find and felt secure.
Rooms were exellent The head waiter was rude & unhelpful & meals poor value for money
When booking on line I was not aware that the returant would be closed.
The rooms were very clean. Good amenities. Comfortable.
Hotel in good location with excellent facilities quality of both dinner & breakfast were produced to a very high standard, we would strongly recommend this hotel staff were very helpfull No complaints at all
Garage was convenient but it took a couple of tries for us to understand the door system - two gates to pass through for security.
beautiful hotel in old convent in the nice village of Chinchon. we were very disappointed that although it was 27 degrees the swimming pool was closed due to 'end of season'.
upgrade to a suit because they could not locate your booking at first. set in a beautifull town no
The atmosphare, location and the service There is no parking on site
Beautiful parador and ideally located in the city center. Rooms too modern for parador style. A great plaza Mayor with possibility to dine on a balcony overlooking the plaza Mayor Not so much about the hotel itself, but during our stay the plaza Mayor was not so nice due to the build up of the podium for the bull fight later that week. That made the plaza Mayor for dining in the evening not the nicest place.
This Parador is one of the most impressive I have stayed in. The 17th century Convent ambience has been remarkably preserved..... lucky nuns in those days!! The front-desk staff could benefeit from refresher courses in customer care and how to handle small problems without displaying sarcastic arrogance.
the restaurant is not in the hotel
No central heating in bathrooms
We loved the town of Chinchon, and the location was very central. It had parking available The bathroom could have been cleaner. The night was warm, and it was too noisy outside to have the window open, and the air conditioning, although effective, was loud and disturbing.
Very pleasent city
Beautifully decorated hotel in the centre of Chinchon. Great value for money. As with previous recommendations, do try their restaurant - the roast lamb is superb!!!
Excellent room and parking facility, spotless and location.
accommodating, friendly staff that took the extra steps to make sure we were well-taken care of. the room was tight for a family of four but comfortable
Excellent town centre location but still quiet, free secure parking beneath the hotel, good value for money.
location brilliant, parking easy and not expensive, well appointed, room was a little noisy, but would request one overlooking garden next time!
We found the hotel delightful, across the road from the Paradore and almost as luxurious. The staff are lovely. The hotel is about 100 yards from the famous Plaza where there are many restaurants. Currently reception offers a discount voucher for one of the restaurants.
The hotel is as comfortable and clan with an efficient staff as expected from Ibis hotels allover Europe. Similarly the breakfast and the food at your restaurants leaves much to be desired. Yo should work on this.
The staff, very helpful and professional! I had some problems with my shower. They did not have room service for breakfast.
A calm hotel, situated neraby Madrid, perfect for one-night sleep in the middle of a long journey. very good value for money
24hour facilities,large bedroom,large bed,walk in shower. nothing
Very clean and modern, would be good for business meetings, conferences etc. Helpful staff, plenty of parking at no charge. Location is fairly industrial nearby, not a place to base a holiday around.
The hotel was clean, staff were good, convienient for the Metro. The breakfast was poor. The lift was poorly maintained. the shower needed attention.
The staff was very helpful, and the breakfast buffet is good value! Internet is very affordable, 5 euros for 24 hours! The location, Public transportation (bus) not very convenient during weekends, and it´s hard to get a taxi. But from Monday to Friday, there is plenty of buses. La Poveda Metro Station is around 15 minutes walking, that´s another option.
I had 2 complaints 1) the start of the slope down to the garage is too accute as I grounded my car on going over it. 2) you should introduce a Pequeno desayuno for those that whant a little more than just a cup of coffee
The wireless internet is only available in the lobby. For internet in the rooms you must pay!
it wasn't an iron or iron service in the room or even in the hotel an a 4 star hotel should have it
Comfortable and well presented room. Free non-alcoholic minibar. Reasonable fitness room for size of hotel (3 cardio machines, a collection of dumbells and a Turkish bath - access on request). Good choice/quality of continental breakfast items. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. The hotel location, next to the motorway, is over 45 minutes walk from the rail stations and the beautiful, old town centre of Alcala de Heneres (which is definitely worth a visit), although there is a local bus - number 7 - from the hotel to the town square (takes 20 minutes - €1 each way).
I am familiar with the location Definitely need to add comfort to their beds. The beds are extremely hard and not comfortable. They need new mattresses.
it is a very nice hotel
Very quiet place with a beautiful view. The golf course looked very nice too, though I didn't have opportunity to play. the swimming pool opens too late in the morning (11:00 AM) and *WAY* too early at night (7:00 PM???). It made it impossible for us to enjoy the amenity, since we were in Madrid most of the day.
hotel staff and cleanliness of my room
Staff were easy to approach, even though I am not fluent in Spanish
The Hostal Torrejon is a good hotel, we didn't have any problem about the rooms or service. If you don't have to go to the center of Madrid, it's a good choice. It's far away from the center and inconvenient for public transport and in uninteresting location.
nothing. neutral. yes, the electricity went off from 12.30am to 5.30am. Why? It's not afghanistan!
Nice hotel. Modern, clean, spacious room. Pleasant, helpful staff. On the same cercanía line as Alcalá de Henares, so it was easy to pass a few spare hours in Alcalá. The hotel has a free shuttle service to the Madrid airport, however it did not start running early enough for me to catch an 8:00 a.m. flight, so I had to pay 30 Euros for a taxi ride. I had chosen this hotel because of its reasonable rate and its free shuttle service, but the taxi ride negated the reasonable room rate.
The room seemed to be recently renovated, nice modern design. The restaurant was opened until late and the restaurant's staff had good suggestions. I had wanted a hotel near Madrid airport. Hostal Torrejon is actually quite far away (15 minutes by car) and their shuttle service ends at 22:30. Si if you have arrive late, you will have to take a taxi, which adds to the price.
I booked the hotel because it had a shuttle bus to and from the airport. However, this was not a 24 hour service and I ended up having to pay another 30 euro for a taxi to the airport. I would have stayed at another hotel if I had known this
Clean, good location to IFEMA visitors. Not enough staff, bad isolation between rooms
We were totaly satisfied with this hotel. The staff was extraordinary kind, polite, flexible and helpful. The buffest breakfast was well prepared with wide variatons, the only thing what we missed some greens, tomatoes. The coffe was surprisingly fine, not so strong of course. The fruit juices werent flooded with tap water as in many places. The location is far from everithing but the public transport is working and the hotel is easily accessible by car. The restaurant next to the hotel is perfect and before the main lunch time nobody is there to smoke. The is black shell is the best ever we eaten. We have definitely nothing to complain. Good value for the money.
Good quality room Shuttle service a let down, some distance from airport, late arrival meant food a problem after 10.30
The facilities were excellent and my room was clean, spacious and well cared for in everyway. On the technical side the room was amazing, with a large flat screen TV showing a vast range of channels and a host of Films for a very reasonable €4.00 per day. Reception and Room Service could not have been better and the Airport Pick-up service was very good too. I would certainly recommend this hotel, but at the moment - without the food option - see below....... It was very difficult to find by car and its location was in the centre of a Business and Commercial Area, so the views were not good. I had booked with breakfast and because of the location I also opted for evening meals. this is where the hotel let itself down badly. There was only one member of staff on duty which was clearly not enough. Even so he disappeared for long stretches of time so that items ran out, and food under the warmer congealed almost beyond edibility. The Hotel Management need to thoroughly review this area if they are going to offer food, as this was the only area that was below 4 star level.
Room was clean enough and there was a wi-fi. bad restaurant (not even a restaurant only buffet), no good service, no good bar.
shuttle service to and from airport, very helpful! also free internet, comfy beds
Breakfast is very good and the dinner buffet is fine too. Only the shower room need some adjustment because the water came out so easy.
The personnel at the Front Desk were excellent. Welcoming, warm and patient. The buffet breakfast was sumptious. Excellent value for money I felt. The location at first as the hotel quite far from everything. But then on a curiosity trip to Torrejon de Ardoz (the nearest train station in the area), I was delighted by the lovely and reasonable yet modern shops, as well as the nice restaurants, the public square, the Semana procession and the quaint houses etc. I wanted to go back there again but alas, no time.
