Very friendly and helpful staff and great decor. Very good value for money.
Beautifully restored building. Comfortable beds. Great view of the fiesta and Torro Del Fuego in the square below which lasted all night. So good we extended our stay. Room slightly on the small side but very comfortable.
Beautiful setting and lovely people. All the staff were incredibly helpful, with places to visit and with a mixture of Spanish, Catalan and English, we all got along. There were no bad points.
It was clean staff where pleaseant good value I need to drive to the reception it was to far to walk as the driveway was blocked
Clean rooms, helpful staff, nice area Lack of toilet roll replacement
Beautiful village and countryside
Staff were very helpful sometimes the language barrier at certain times of day meant you had to await for another member of staff to come on a shift to answer a question, but where always pleasant about this and very apologetic, the food was excellent every morning afternoon and evening and plentyful even when some of our friends returned late from racing. Staff at all times even down to the maid where very curtious and helpful when ever we had a small problem. The bar staff where excellent to The pool was very clean, and towels available for a small fee. But a beautiful hotel set in picturesque surroundings. We would all definately visit there again when ever in Northern Spain and is also very good value for money, Sometimes on main reception not always enough staff to cope with arrivals, when ever telephone booking came in, so quite often had to wait for member of staff who could understand english to help, but where always apologetic and always helpful. The problem with flys possibly due to the rural surroundings in room and around public places ie bar and even in the resturant at times possibly needed more fly netting or fly zapper units. It was for us along way to travel as we had to travel from Alicaniz 45 kilometres away so this made our journey to and from the hotel quite a trek, but was worth it for the calming surroundings. There was only one taxi service available in the area of hotel so it was very much in demand, as would liked to have explored the area more. But the service with the taxi was excellent and personal I wish them good luck with the business but they may need another car available.
The hotel is in a delightfull location with staff who couldn't have been more helpfull. Good food. A very relaxing place to stay.
There should be an English speaking receptionist
althouglh a nice hotel it is not close to any amenities e.g. shops, restaurants, etc
This hotel did not warrant a 3 star rating. The Menu of the day was good but the dining room was uninviting. The room was stark and very basic. The door was rickety and did not feel secure. It was very noisy in the corridors. A very disappointing stay!
Good restaurant Not good value for money, located out of town
Staff were very friendly. The bed were unconfortable
Good room with plenty of space and modern facilities. Wonderful location in a modernised castle, beautiful views, fascinating history. Dinner was good but overpriced.
good value, comfortable room, not impressed with the check in girl, found her very cold. not overly
A memorable experience for all lovers of Castles. Especially medieval castles. (Read up on this castle to fully experience the history.) Our rooms were clean and well maintained. Quiet and comfortable. Such a sense of history to walk through the halls of a medieval castle to retire for the night. Do not. Do not. Do not eat in the comedor. The food is absolutely awful in every sense of the word. Expensive and horrible. Cheap, inexpensive and almost rotten ingredients disguised as cultural gourmet. Full of salt, fat and tasteless nonsense the food could be purchased anywhere, a very sad, sad disappointment.
Splendid location and fantastic views. Very clean and comfortable. The service was good and the food excellent. A one night stay plus dinner and breakfast for two adults was approx 200 euros which is verging on the expensive. Do not treat Paradors as a low cost option for overnight stays. The cost if anything is high but is generally outweighed by the facilities/location/service
Top class facilities and magnificent building and location
This is a total package. Boutique hotel, pretty village, friendly locals, friendly and out going owners, exceptional food, practical and inciteful tourism advice and great value for money. We dined-in each night (little choice in a small village) and experienced an ever changing menu of gourmet delights. A 3 day highlight amongst 10 weeks of spanish treasures.
The warm and generous hospitality of the host and the fabulous meals, breakfast as well as dinner, were outstanding. We were impressed by the personal interest and trip advice given by the host when asked. Nothing was too much trouble for them. As we were the only guests at the time, we were made to feel like family, they were so welcoming. The room was also very comfortable. A delightful place to stay. Nothing.
The isolated village location lets you get away from the hustle & bustle of the cities & coastal areas. Getting there by car takes you through ever changing landscapes & vistas. The hotel is situated on the small & attractive village plaza & clearly the local authorities have invested much money in the village in recent years. The hosts are wonderful; informative & ever helpful (& they speak good English). The breakfast that Clara prepared was the best hotel breakfast we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. The front rooms on the second floor have great little balconies & catch a lot of sun. Highly recommend this hotel, whether you are passing or as a destination in itself. Well worth a trip up to the local Hermitage above the village. Nothing, nada. Just be aware that there are no shops etc in this small village - just one small bar next to the hotel.
The home made food was excellent and the owner very friendly. Could not have wished for a better service. No complains this hotel is a little gem.
First class in every way.
