Located in Sant Joan de Les Abadesses, Satori B&B - Adults Only is within a 15-minute drive of Monastery of Sant Joan de las Abadesses and Monastery of Santa Maria. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: We had a great stay. Host was very attentive, gave a lot of helpful insights. He made us feel like at home. The breakfast was unbeatable in terms of amount, quality and variety. I would go back definitely.
Cons: Google maps took us from Ribes to St. Joan d'Abadesses through a mountain Road (GI) in the night, it was very winding and dark. Take the national road instead. The rooms are like in the picture, a bit small and a bit overcrowded with decoration and furniture. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
Pros: Great host clearly wanting to provide a great B n B experience. Really interesting and eclectic mix of furnishings & art inside and out. One of the best breakfasts we had in our trip.
Cons: Ensuite was small and awkward with a low sloped roof.
Pros: The hosts are absolutely lovely, and their love and appreciation is noticeable throughout this expansive fairy castle with its beautiful furnishing, decoration, little details in the garden and house as well as a wonderful, luxurious breakfast. Thanks so much, definitely a place to come back to many times. Lots of love
Pros: The house, the garden, breakfast and the hosts!
Pros: Absolutely perfect! One of the nicest accommodations we ever stayed at, certainly the best on our trip through Catalunya! The house and the large garden are conveniently located, very, very charming and extremely cosy. Everything is absolutely immaculate and of high quality. The host is so friendly and welcoming, one feels almost like visiting friends. He totally goes out of his way to create an extraordinary atmosphere and experience for his guests. You can feel his love and passion for creating an outstanding retreat in all the small details like the candle-lit stairway to the guest rooms, the water and the pralinees at the bedside table every night, the charming decoration of the rooms, the quality of the delicious breakfast and so on. We loved everything and enjoyed our stay very, very much.
Pros: The hosts were extremely kind, and took care of everybody as if they were their own friends. The house is very charmingly decorated and cosy. Breakfast was excellent. In summary, a rare gem.
Cons: One has to bear in mind that it is a house, not a hotel, and it was easy to hear the conversation from next room. We were in an en-suite room and the bathroom was extremely small, but it did not cause us any problem.
Pros: The hosts were wonderful in providing a tour of the facility First rate in all respects Breakfast exceeded our expectations
Cons: Not. Thing
Pros: Great breakfast and very friendly host.
Pros: Amazing hosts, unique house and great breakfast :)
Pros: The location of satori was super convenient, being very close to the city center and yet somehow feeling like it had its own natural refuge. The area is plenty walkable and parking is passable on non-holidays. The owner is very friendly and did a solid job with his English. Breakfast was wonderful, fantastic scramble eggs on delicious toasted bread along with a variety of fruits and croissants.
Cons: The only negative was the shared bathroom, which ordinarily wouldn't be an issue but since I was there on a holiday, the B&B was totally booked, making the bathroom a hot commodity, so there was waiting from time to time.
Located in Sant Joan de Les Abadesses, Hotelet de Sant Joan is a 1-minute drive from Monastery of Sant Joan de las Abadesses and 10 minutes from Monastery of Santa Maria.
Pros: The facilities are quite new. Bathroom, shower, clean smell of the entire property. Breakfast.
Cons: Narrow breakfast hours.
Pros: Receptionist very helpful with where to park, where to eat and places I wanted to visit, including a map.
Pros: Location. Easy parking. Nice breakfast. Chic ambience Great bed and linens. Would have liked black tea or we should have taken our travel kettle great location for exploring northern Catalunya.
Cons: No black tea.
Pros: Very comfortable bed, all really clean.
Cons: When you shower the whole bathroom kinda floods and it's a little bit uncomfortable.
Pros: Exceptionally clean and modern. The hostess was very helpful and provided great advice about what to visit. I definitely recommend this property.
Cons: Nothing at all. It was perfect for us.
Pros: Comfortable room with good a/c and great shower. Great location. Very helpful staff
Cons: The fact that the sink is just around a screen. When you put the light on to use the bathroom which is behind a further sliding door, it illuminated the bedroom which wakes other guests up. A separate light for the sink area, and bathroom would solve this.
Pros: Everything about the facilities plus the lovely breakfast
Cons: Nothing pops into my mind tbh.
Pros: This was a friendly and very attractive place to stay. The staff were attentive to our needs and we were right where we needed to be.
Pros: Perfect location to visit the city - Comfortable room, - Helpful and friendly staff - Nice breakfast
Pros: Very stylish, modern place, nice and helpful ppl running the place that would give you good tips what to see and where to eat in the city. The recommended restaurant La Ruta del Ferro was excellent, the scenery just a few steps from the restaurant was breathtaking. The hotel is located right in the center, can't be any better! The complimentary breakfast is huge bouns.
With a stay at Alberg Rural El Negre in Ogassa, you'll be 6 mi (9.6 km) from Creu de Sant Amand and 6.1 mi (9.8 km) from El Taga. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The home-made bread, the view, the style of the building, the isolation around
Pros: Incredible location. Fantastic hosts. Delicious food.
Pros: Comfortable, perfectly clean, amazing views and lovely people!
Pros: The situation of this property is amazing BUT effectively you need a 4 track vehicle to get to the property-NOT an ordinary car especially one which is on hire. El Negre is 7km from the made up road and accessed via a track which is uneven very stony and really annoying. It is an exceptionally slow journey and difficult. This fact should be highlighted on information about the location.
Cons: Everything else was perfect!
Pros: beautiful rural albergue in amazing location, comfy bed in nice room, friendly staff and kitchen available to cook your own meal
Cons: shared bathroom for most of the rooms but clean and spacious
Pros: I like this wonderful building and the lovely staff. Also the surrondings around the mountains are fantastic.
Pros: Really nice house of stone and wood situated berween high mountains! Awesome spot. Confortable bunk bed in a 8 shared room. I ve seen also a double and quadruple rooms very nice. Very big and nice salon with sophas with views on the top! Friendly family arranging the business:) really quite and peacefull athmosphere in the middle of nature!
Cons: it takes 45 minuts as minium to get the house from St.Joan Abadesses! There s a FOREST TRACK to get there! This important point, is not indicated at the add. No wifi or phone!
Located in Sant Joan de Les Abadesses, Les Planes del Grau is in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Monastery of Sant Joan de las Abadesses and El Pont Nou. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Perfect place to disconnect. Really cozy, quiet and comfortable. Everything was new and clean. Food was great. Wishing to go back soon.
Cons: Loved everything
Pros: Amazing location, very friendly staff, ready to satisfy our requests. A very nice design of the hotel (wood and stone) and comfortable to be with children. Nice area outside. An additional bed for our 3 year old was put in our room upon request (though at additional cost).
Cons: Hotel has a small garden with an electrical cable outside (I guess, so animals stay away). However no one on reception commented about this (though they saw that we came with small children) and my 3 years old child touched this cable, you can imagine he was all in tears. I would suggest they comment on this to parents in advance and to be honest I don't see why they have electrical fence in the hotel garden.
Pros: Nice hotel and room. Friendly and very helpful personnel.
Pros: The Hotel is superbly renovated they have done a great job with a mix of stone, wood and concrete, and the pool area is also very tasteful. Plenty of parking, extra towels for the pool and lots of seating areas inside and out. Had a nice bottle of wine with our very poor dinner.
Cons: A couple of narrow bridges to cross on the way there, a few more trees to park under would be nice and so would a welcome bottle of water (not much to ask for but not forthcoming). The breakfast had a lot of meats to choose from but not so great for us veggies, no eggs are offered and the croissants were very floppy, Coffee (from a pod machine) and tea is not served, you have to get it yourself (this is a 4*s hotel by the way). It seemed that the cleaning staff worked the breakfast shift they were all in their cleaning uniforms. Dinner was the most disappointing though, Veggies are really not catered for (there is no main course offered) but we are not fussy and were offered pasta with roasted veg which we were OK with... until it came, it was absolutely bland, tasted of nothing, the pasta was over cooked and the veg was tiny, we did not eat it and sent it back, all the cook could come up with was an omelette (with nothing to go with it but a piece of toast with tomato on) for our dinner. This was one of the first hotels I booked for our trip and we were really looking forward to our experience there and were very, very disappointed, I wish we had not bothered. The night before we stayed in a place called Puigcerda in a hotel called Mas Sant Marc, less money and SO much better, save your money and go there.
Pros: An amazing boutique hotel out of the way but near Sant Joan des abadesses. Elegantly designed and has a really nice pool. Don't be thrown off by the drive there, which seems to take you by a small (nonpolluting) factory on the road-- one doesn't see it and the hotel is very quiet and beautiful. The restaurant there is also excellent. One caution: you pass through two small bridges that can only bear 2000 kilos-- so you don't want to bring a heavy vehicle.
Pros: The mix of old and new. Beautiful old farmhouse with modern spotless interior and very smart grounds. The pool was great.
Cons: Beautiful hotel in stunning remote location. You will need a car to get there. Small extras that would take the service to the next level would be more staff, more complimentary water, coffee machine in room or access to one complimentary. Great boutique hotel but didn't have the final touches to make it extra special. Food was good but again nothing memorable.
Pros: Perfect place to chill and enjoy the silence. Good for couple of days. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and we did not have a chance to walk a lot during our stay. Nice breakfast and super clean room. Thank you!
Pros: We really enjoyed the design of the room, and the view on the countryside, cows.
Cons: Breakfasts were super light and not very vegetarian-friendly.
Pros: We absolutely loved this place! It is a beautifully and tastefully renovated farm house in a very green and peaceful location, within a short drive to several interesting destinations of this part of the Pyrenees (Nuria, Besalu, etc.). We took the double room, which was really big, clean, nicely designed, and featured a cozy balcony like sitting area, perfect for sharing a bottle of wine and enjoying the nature through the big windows. The near by town doesn't offer a great selection of restaurants, and therefore we ate our dinners at the hotel. The food was of high quality, really tasty, and reasonably priced, and the wine selection was also very good. They also offer a very nice breakfast. The hotel has a swimming pool (open only in the summer months). One of the best parts of our stay here was the warm, kind, and very hospitable treatment we received from the lovely family running this hotel. Thank you! We definitely recommend this lovely place and would love to come back if ever in the Pyrenees again!
Cons: A very miner thing was the wifi connection, which was a bit slow. Not sure if it is a drawback though, since this way we could enjoy a nice board game instead of looking at a screen :)
Pros: Amazing place, everything was great.
Habitacions Aurora is set in Sant Pau de Seguries, in the heart of Vall de Camprodon Valley, in the Catalan Pyrenees. It features 11 heated rooms with flat-screen TVs. The guest house offers double, triple and quadruple rooms with a private bathroom with bath. Some of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with a nice view of the surrounding mountains. The cafeteria inside the property serves breakfast and also features a shop with traditional products such as cured meat. Habitacions Aurora is 20 km from the Garrotxa National Park and an 8-minute drive from Camprodon. Staff at the reception can provide more information about all the activities of the area. The Vallter2000 ski resort is 25 km away. Free public parking is available nearby. Girona airport is an hour’s drive away.
Pros: The rooms are basic but really clean. The breakfast was great and good value for money. Staff were also very friendly.
Pros: Friendly and clean.
Cons: Wifi signal did not reach the room. Needed to wait for hot water to reheat after each shower Mattress only so so.
Pros: The host was excellent; very polite and eager to make our stay very comfortable. She provided us with an extra radiator for drying our damp walking boots. The room was exceptionally clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast is not offered with the room booking but at extra cost in the hotel's bar that is popular amongst locals. The property is located within easy walking distance of the village centre where you can find a mini supermarket, a bakery and a restaurant that does not serve dinner before 8pm.
Pros: Proprietress was wonderful. She was very friendly and helpful.
Pros: Lovely welcome, clean, quiet and comfortable room.
Cons: Nothing, it was all perfect
Located in the centre of Ripoll, 10 minutes’ walk from Ripoll Train Station, L'Astrolabi Guest House offers heated suites with free WiFi. The property also has a shared guest kitchen. Modern suites come with a TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. The shared kitchen includes a microwave and oven. Staff can provide information on activities in the area, including cycling and hiking routes. Vic is a 30-minute drive away, while Olot is 40 minutes’ drive from the property. Girona and its airport can be reached in just over an hour by car.
Pros: The Shared kitchen was very good and the cleaning lady was great thank you
Pros: The apartment was nice, as shown in the photos.
Cons: Information missing or incorrect on the site: one MUST park outside of the town and carry bags to the apartment (about 1 km). THEN there is no one on site at the apartment, so be prepared to walk a little further to find the café to pick up the keys. NO ONE spoke English or French, even though the site said they spoke English. Communication was almost impossible. ALSO, had no idea it was Carnival weekend and we could not sleep - partying in the streets below with loud music all night.
Situated in Ripoll, 35 km from Vic, Bressol features a shared lounge and free WiFi. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. A bicycle rental service and ski storage space are offered at the bed and breakfast, and guests can go skiing in the surroundings. Camprodon is 24 km from Bressol, while Olot is 33 km from the property. The nearest airport is Girona-Costa Brava Airport, 91 km from the accommodation.
Pros: The location is good if you want a beer and food in the evening and to see the town. El Moli bar beneath the property is great, the staff in there are welcoming and they have good food.
Cons: In fairness, this was the wrong property for our needs however there are still things worth calling out; we were travelling on two motorcycles - firstly, you must check in about a kilometre away from the property at a cafe. There is free parking here which is great but we then had to carry our gear in the heat all the way to the apartment as there is no suitable set down location to unload. Regardless of your transportation, you have to walk between the cafe and the apartment. Your next challenge is finding it - the apartment is part of a block with a small sign on the wall facing out to the square - not immediately obvious. The rooms you stay in are actually part of an apartment so you share a kitchen with others. There is NO air con and noise from the square can impact you if you’re a light sleeper. Breakfast is essentially what your estranged father would provide you if your mother dropped you off for the weekend. My key also stopped working the morning after so I couldn’t get my stuff from the room after popping out. Support number was sketchy picking up and then language barrier was an issue (not their fault). Eventually got the code via WhatsApp (don’t understand why they don’t just give you the code rather than the card key in the first place).
Cons: There is no parking, the "free parking" is 10 min walk from the B&B, no easy with suitcases. Shower is not in a separate room and not closed. We should remark the is an apartment with several rooms.
Pros: Although categorized as a B&B, I would rate this more as an AirB&B. There are full kitchen facilities for making breakfast or supper which was really convenient. The rooms are beautiful with furniture recycled and upgraded by an Association that supports people who have behavior, mental and physical challenges. Great location in city. You can walk everywhere.
Pros: The rooms themselves were great and clean.
Cons: All the setting was bizzar. Its not actually an hotel, but an apatment that is set in an old building in the center of the village without any stuff. Very uncomfortable with a car, kids and suitcases (climbing the stairs). Very comfortable to young travellers.
Pros: The location was great
Pros: Location is great. right in the old town over a nice restaurant
Cons: The way the booking is made is nuts! You have to collect the keys from a restaurant on the outskirts of town. If you don't read all the small print you won't notice (as we didn't) that it closes at 5. So we called the owner. No staff at the property btw She spoke almost no English. Told to go to the hotel and wait for an sms. Did so, No parking even though the listing says there is secure påarking nearby. Owner couldn't help. Note there are three code locks to get in. One on the downstairs door, one on the apartment door and one on the room door. When we finally got in the apartment door was standing open. Our room door was standing open and the room had not been made up even though we arrived at 18:30. Bed not made, wet towels, window open, rubbish from last guest. After several angry calls to owner she sent a maid to clear up. Also... listed as 4 person room suitable for 3 adults. we were 3 friends travelling together and we met by 2 beds. a double and a single. eventually told there was another single under the first. a kind of lift up bed frame. this was a death trap and likely to collapse if anyone moved in their sleep. we left it on the floor. Having insisted the owner come in and fix things she said she would do so in ten minutes. NEVER TURNED UP. STOPPED ANSWERING CALLS AND SMS. I hope your experience is better.
Pros: Staff waited for us beyond their working hours. The non profit organisation is worth supporting and as cyclists we fully support it. The room was great and very comfortable.
Cons: The process for checking in at restaurant about 500m away is tricky when you are unfamiliar with town. If you have heavy panniers etc you effectively have to check in, ride to hotel and ride back with unloaded bikes, then walk back. All this is meant to be done by 17:00.
With a stay at this apartment in Vallfogona, you'll be 6.1 mi (9.8 km) from Santa Magdalena de Cambrils and 8.8 mi (14.2 km) from Monastery of Santa Maria. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and an elevator (lift). RV/bus/truck parking is available onsite.
With a stay at La Trobada Hotel Ripoll in Ripoll, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Ethnographic Museum of Ripoll and Monastery of Santa Maria. Featured amenities include luggage storage and an elevator (lift).
Pros: Perfect hotel for motorcyclists, right at the centre of some great roads. The hotel has a huge secure garage for the bikes and they are very used to groups of bikers and understand our needs. You need to walk into town for a beer and food in the evening but it's only a 5 minute walk.
Cons: Ripoll itself is a little uninteresting, not many bars or restaurants.
Pros: Good service , very clean !!!! Nice towels and bed sheets .
Pros: This is a quality hotel.
Cons: Expensive breakfast.
Pros: Lots of informed help concerning local events, places of interest etc. Cleanliness. Location. WiFi worked ok. Helpful staff and management.
Cons: No air conditioning in room. As the hotel is at some altitude this may not always be a problem. Breakfast unimpressive.
Pros: Very nice rooms
Cons: No air conditioning
Pros: We received a warm and friendly greeting on our arrival plus lots of good information and maps about the town and surrounding attractions. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinners due to ill health but we had a fantastic buffet breakfast which included freshly cooked eggs to our liking. Room was clean and quiet. We parked right out the front. Highly recommend.
Pros: Very modern furnishings and great shower room
Pros: Nice hotel in good location. Secure garage parking for bikes.
Cons: Difficult to find staff when we wanted to leave in the morning.
Pros: Clean room, comfy bed, good shower and very helpful staff. Very secure, freelance parking for our motorcycle
Cons: It would have been nice if the restaurant was open
Pros: Lovely friendly people. So helpful, fabulous food. Not a luxurious hotel but clean, comfortable and excellent for a night on the road
Hostal Paula is offering accommodation in Ripoll. Free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk are featured. At the hostel, every room includes a desk, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. The units feature a wardrobe. Camprodon is 25 km from Hostal Paula, while Olot is 33 km away. The nearest airport is Girona-Costa Brava Airport, 91 km from the accommodation.
Pros: Great location, near to everything. We had (paid, but cheap) parking in front of the hostal, but I feel we were lucky... Nice clean rooms, good beds, busy traffic outside during the day, but none at night, so silent during the night. Very friendly owners, good information. Good breakfast options within a minute walk.
Cons: People mentioned the stairs could be a bit difficult with luggage, but the owner even insisted to help when we wanted to take them up ourselves. All was great!
Pros: Fascinating little town surrounded by great walks
Cons: Church bells
Pros: Very nice place
Pros: The hostess was charming and very lively. Great location in the town centre. Ripoll is a nice typical little town in Catalunya. Bars, tapas, markets, tiny streets and proud to be in Catalunya.
Cons: The beds were a bit narrow.
Pros: A perfect location close to the Monastery.
Cons: We would have liked to be able to check in before 4pm.
Cons: No hot water!!!!
Pros: The host, David, was very pleasant and knowledgeable and put in every effort to make our one night stay very comfortable. Although the property overall is in need of modernisation, the bathrooms are updated, the rooms are quaint and full of character and it is centrally located, in the vicinity of the renowned Ripoll cathedral, the cradle of the Catalan culture. The Wi-Fi worked fine despite the geometry of the building and our location within.
Surrounded by the beautiful mountain landscape of Ripoll in Catalonia, Hostal Del Ripollès offers simple rooms with a private bathroom and TV. The guest house has a free Wi-Fi zone. The Ripollès’ Piazetta Restaurant serves traditional homemade cuisine from the region. It also offers Italian dishes, including fresh pasta and pizzas. In summer, guests can enjoy meals on the terrace. There are a range of activities on offer in the Ripollès i Bressol region, including hiking, horse riding and fishing. Excursions can be organised to attractions such as the Santa María Monastery, 300 metres away.
Pros: Good location and good restaurant
Cons: Not very clean
Cons: All good
Pros: I did not realize when I booked this hostal that I would be staying in the center of Ripoll during the annual festivities for their patron saint. The hostal sent me an e-mail explaining they were in the midst of the "party" district and there would be loud street music for much of the night. The upside of this was a chance to see what the celebration actually looked like. Ripoll is a "mountain" town and very confusing to navigate. I had some trouble finding the hostal (GPS totally failed, probably due to all the one-ways and pedestrian walkways.) and finally I literally stumbled upon it. The parking which they had advertised is actually in a garage which is a couple of blocks away. I had trouble even finding a place to leave the car for a few minutes to enter the hostal/restaurant to get the key and instructions for the parking. This is probably the hardest part of the stay but once I had all the information, the parking worked very well. The car was totally secure. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The building is old and the rooms are old fashioned but comfortable. The location (in the center of town) is very good for exploring the sites in Ripoll.
Cons: No issues except trying to find the property.
Pros: The heating was too warm and we could not switch it off. Also there was road noise. The restaurant downstairs was lovely!
Pros: Close to centre
Cons: Old decor, dark, very small window.
Pros: Big room with comfortable beds. Nice clean bathroom even with bidet and hairdryer. Good wi-fi.
Cons: Noisy street till late at night. But it was Saturday, maybe it is less noisy on week days.
Pros: basic accommodation, helpful staff. Restaurant/bar downstairs.
Cons: located on a noisy street
Pros: Super friendly stuff, quality for the money
Located in Ripoll, Hotel Solana del Ter is within a 5-minute drive of Monastery of Santa Maria and Ruta del Ferro. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and an elevator (lift). Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Cons: Pool was closed. Staff
Located in Ripoll, Camping Ripolles is within a 10-minute drive of Monastery of Santa Maria and Ethnographic Museum of Ripoll. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The guy at the reception was friendly and tried to be helpful given what he was having to work with! The campsite is in a good location, not far from a few bars a reasonable size supermarket is just 500mtrs away. Nice large pool area. Bungalows were a good size.
Cons: We travel alot and always read the comments on booking.com before reserving. Always you need to filter the bad comments from each property (not every location however good it is will receive positive opinions but some peoples negative comments can be unreasonable!). However, all negative comments about this campsite and how it is run is are (unfortunately) probably true (and the fact that I have re-read the comments does back up our experience!). We requested a cot as we have two 12mth old babies but only space in the car for one travel cot. We did this 3 months before arrival and was assured it would be provided after we said we would cancel if they couldnt guarantee it . The cot arrived as promised (a brand new cot & mattress which was fantastic) apart from it being delivered 15hrs before we left the campsite, on the final night of a 3 night stay. This was despite us asking the helpful receptionist guy numerous times in the days before, but he could only pass our messages on to the boss but we felt he tried his best! I couldnt comment on the campsite bar/restaurant as it was never open (morning or evenings when we tried!), it looked pleasant enough through the locked doors. The childrens play area had broken glass beer bottles in it when we arrived late afternoon. Cooking utensils in the kitchenette were very limited , plus there was no clothes stand to hang wet clothes on that needed drying. Overall we spent the first two days of our trip annoyed and stressed - we didnt have the cot as promised , just the stress of sleeping with twins in a double bed who didnt want to sleep and just wanted to get up all night!, but when the cot arrived on the final night it was just laughable and appreciated - at least we managed to sleep on one night of our three night stay at the campsite.
Pros: Great location to explore
Cons: Basic facilities
Pros: + The friendly waitress and reception staff + The comfy wooden bungalow/cabin we stayed in + On checkout, they passed a survey asking for our opinion and improvements.
Cons: - The main entrance was under construction and remodelations for the new season, although it wasn't a big problem. - They don't provide towels (because they were commonly stolen), but they are planning to provide them at reception with a money deposit.
Pros: The bungalow is in a good location. The host was very helpful and came within minutes that we told him that we had arrived. A beautiful view in the morning. A lovely quiet place. Our children especially appreciated the company of 2 cats and a kitten nearby!
Cons: The thing is that since the bungalow is all wood, the shower had mould on it at the corners but I understand that since it's wood, it's more difficult to maintain than tiles. The main bedroom mattress wasn't that comfortable because the bed felt like it was slanting. Maybe it needed better support from underneath. No towels are provided but we were informed about that beforehand so we went prepared. However a dishcloth to wipe and dry up the plates and cutlery would have been helpful.
Pros: the quietness
Cons: the bar/restaurant was not open
Pros: The bungalows were very cozy, had been heated in preparation for our arrival and had all necessary items for a comfortable stay. There was a second bedroom with two single beds which we didn't use but would have been great for a family or group of friends.
Cons: Towels were not included, which was not essential but always welcome.
Pros: big pool, nice quiet environment, feeling of community. Big PLUS the animal friendliness. Close to hiking routes.
Cons: bedsheets a bit dirty and low quality. Checkout time is at 11.30am and the pool only opens at 10am - very little time to take advantage on the last day, but possible.
Pros: family atmosphere
Cons: the facilities for children were dirty and our mobile home smells
Pros: very peaceful campsite set on the edge of the montains. Helpful staff with good english language skills
Pros: It is a nice camping site. Supermarket is at the site, you can cook at your own room, or use the resturant.
Cons: We wonder why for using the swimming pool we had to pay extra.
Pros: It is in a good locsation to break the journey from the Pyrenees tothe sea.
Cons: ahugely over-priced for what was on offer, and the time of year. Room was very basic.
Pros: A very friendly, family run hostal with a nice catalan restaurant. Located fairly close to the mountain peaks of the eastern pyrenees.
Cons: The swimming pool was large and very clean but expensive to use.
Pros: Nice and friendly staff, amazing views to mountains. The room is ok - clean and comfortable, but the bed was a little short even for my height (182cm). There was also a nice swimming pool, but we didn't have a time to use it. Wifi available.
Cons: Couldn't choose the breakfast menu, I prefer the buffet breakfast.
Pros: Located in an area not well served for family hotels. Nice pool.
Cons: Swimming pool opening hours could have been longer.
Pros: Too expensive for facilities. It was a campground with a hotel attached. Room was spartan with low ceiling and no products. For Spain, and even for France it was way over priced for the value provided.
Cons: There was nothing we really liked. It was a very minimal facility for a very high price: 90 euros with breakfast far exceeded what we have paid in many much nicer places, like the place we are in now, Auberge Catalane where we have demi pension for 95 euros with remarkable food and a much nicer room.
Pros: Friendliness, cleaness, breakfast
Cons: Awful beds, this is a youth hostel not a hotel. You pay the price of a hotel, however.
Pros: Nice breakfast although we didn't enjoy the plate of meat on the first day (embotits?) - much better when we asked for cheese.
Cons: We had no idea that the hostel's facilities would close the day after we arrived because of the end of school holidays - i.e. pool, games room, and restaurant and bar. Information on thw website to this eefct would have been useful so as not to disappoint expectations. Room quite cramped and dark.
Located in Sant Joan de Les Abadesses, Camping Abadesses is a 5-minute drive from Monastery of Sant Joan de las Abadesses and 10 minutes from El Pont Nou. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff were very friendly, lovely walks in the area. Beautiful woodland walks behind the campsite. Very peaceful.
Cons: There were no restaurants in walking distance. There is no footpath along the big road before the campsite.
Pros: Clean and nice bungalow, space for grill ant generally anything you need for a hike withf riends
