The location Very indifferent staff
Friendly family staff; excellent breakfast fully laid out even for a few guests on the last night of the season; wonderful views over lake; quiet; lovely terrace for dinner and breakfast. Room is fairly small but properly equipped; limited TV channels (we had heavy rain!) .
The lake view was magnificent Though it is absolutely not a business hotel but only couples stay there, there is no double bed at all in the whole hotel and even the twin bed are sliding apart. The bathroom was broken and not fixed during the 3 days. They ask surcharge for the eggs for breakfast, which is a rather cheap thing to do (and only told us the 2nd day)
Our room had a wonderful terrace overlooking the lake and mountains. It was delightful sleeping with the terrace doors open at night, hearing the ducks, owls, etc., across the lake. It was a very beautiful and peaceful setting. We felt that the front desk staff, while responsive to our questions, did not ever elaborate to provide additional appropriate information. We did not feel especially welcome, except for the restaurant wait staff and the bellman.
great location and nice service The road to the hotel is narrow .
location is great, friendly staff everything was perfect
The lakeside location; comfortable and large bedroom; the maitre d'hotel and waiters were very attentive. No tea/ coffee making facilities. The bus/ boat schudules were irregular, so I would recommensd a car for transport.
Breath taking view, clean air, nice people, the place to relax
The room was neat. The vue of the lake was great. Short of parking space. Breakfast could be richer.
Although the hotel is further from city life the view was breathtakingly beautiful, and restful. The gardens were stunning as well as the decor in the sitting areas in the hotel where guests can enjoy a glass of wine and cheese inside or out. We very much enjoyed this part of Italy staying further out from Lugano. The staff was considerate and helpful. We enjoyed hiking around the villages and into the hills. You can rent a beautiful wood boat for a leisure ride on the lake, too. Many generations of family have owned this hotel; you will enjoy the dining experience in the restaurant. The meals were sumptuous and beautifully prepared. The staff was friendly and happy. Great ambience. Thank you Hotel Stella D'Italia. No complaints. We even loved Maria who helped us with bus tickets across the narrow road.
The facilities for the children were fantastic. They have the best tube slide so this was the main focus for my sons age 6 and 9. Breakfast was lovely. The sheer amount of facilities for families is brilliant and the best I have come accross. Views from rooms are beautiful. Staff are friendly. The suite had a kitchen area with nothing in it, so no kettle or cups, this ws annoying and meant you didn't have flexibility. The info in the rooms could have been better so that we could have made the most of it.
Service was impeccable. The resort was a true oasis and the staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The scope of children and adult activities was very impressive. We had a wonderful time and would certainly return, hopefully, for a longer stay.
The perfect combination of a 4-5 star hotel (for the parents) with a child-friendly environment. The diner formula is simply the best I ever encountered.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were very nice, with fantastic views of the lake and mountains, and the hotel was very child friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Nice location too focused on German customers
Very friendly staff, excellent accommodation with good views good facilities
Since the moment of the arrival till going home it has been the most wonderful time spent.I had already reserved a number of massage sessions in the Wellness & Beauty center of the hotel. My day started with a swim in the pool, then breakfast.By the way here I had had the most wonderful breakfast!!!The Wellness centre is well considered with a contemporary design and choice of relaxing color.I liked the anti stress massage most. It was done with candles of Shea butter. Shea butter was slowly melted with the heat of candles on my skin combining it with a massage. It made me feel very pleasant and relaxed. Before departure I booked myself for the Well-being week in autumn to make trip home easy!Fantastic SPA Holidays!!!
Excellent hotel for families with young children. They really do cater for the kids in every possible way. Fantastic location with great lake views. Rooms were large and functional but not luxurious. This hotel would be fantastic in summer with its location, pools and lake side. Not so in cooler weather however. The main diningroom is a little small when the hotel is full, forcing guests to wait for tables.
Friendly and helpful staff, quiet and comforatble rooms, excellent food. Country-style luxury ambience. Creaking iron bedstead
This hotel was a real find, it was more like staying in a country house with very welcoming hosts. All the staff were friendly and knowledgable and couldn't do enough for you (in a very understated way). It's an idyllic spot with plenty to do if your like the outdoors. It is only a 15 minute drive to lake Como. The hotel restaurant was a very pleasant surprise, the standard of food topped some of the best restaurants in London. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and it's restaurant. Nothing
The room was excellent, the view is also nice. Quite a thing if you want a middle of the moutain hotel. Some noises over the roof in the night, SCARY!
Breakfast, hotel design, very beautiful gardens, friendly staff Very far away from civilization, however, good location if you want sports (golf) and enjoy nature
Freindly & helpful stafd. The location
very quiet place, nice atmosphere, lost in the mountains, huge garden very practical for dogs, tasty restaurant , not far from Milano and Lugano not easy to reach
Hosts very friendly. Although we have been quite unlucky with the whether they have been busy with suggesting alternatives.rich breakfast and extremely nice staff. Good quality restaurant inhouse.
Great staff, very friendly. Excelent break fast. No minibar available. The hotel is too far from the city and it is dificult to get there. There is nothing close to the hotel (restaurants, bars, shops, etc)
The beauty of the property, the peacefulness and quiet, the accomodating staff, the in-house restaurant for dinner and the inclusive breakfast was very lovely. Nothing!
Good atmosphere, friendly people, lovely place Lacked a sitting room
We liked everything about Hotel Corte Santa Libera. The hotel is very well kept, clean, modern and the room was very comfortable. The room was very spacious and we had a wonderful view from our hotel room. The owner is very friendly and tries his very best to make you feel at home. Even the breakfast was very good and it is very value for money. I will definitely recommend it to other people. The only thing is its location. If you are coming with the car, the gps will drive you from the Lugano side and it is a bit difficult to find. It is better if you come from the Como route.
Beautiful restaurant - lovely food and a lovely setting. Loved the chairs and tables dotted around outside - useful even in October! No wine glasses in the appartment and a good dust before our arrival would have made the place look clean.
Beautiful view The owners and managers didn't speak any English. It was very difficult to communicated
Good place in a small quiet town near Lugano. Good room with a balcony. Beautiful view on a lake from a balcony. Friendly personnel. Free parking. There is the free Wi-fi internet access.
the location, the view, the little kitchen in the bedroom and the gardens there were no toiletries, a bit expensive, although it was a studio, not a hotel room.
Good...Nice Staff. Good restaurant just in front ! Good value for money.
The residence is ok. Not the most confortable but reasonnable. The garden and the view are great. We did not checked the restaurant, but it looks also good. Internet not always connected, even not in the "common parts".
Amazing location, the view was fantastic. Great accomodations and excellent meals! even a wild deer in the backyard. Such a nice place. Bit of a white knuckle drive to get there with the narrow winding roads...but it's worth it in the end!!!
We did like the place, the garden, the rooms, the view, the acces to the beach (lake side)
The location is so amazing. The rooms are fairly sized. The bads and pillowes where not so comfortable and the room could use some cleaning.
The room was large and very nice great for a family. They didn't speak much English but it wasn't much of a problem.
This is an amazingly beautiful resort! Everything about it is fantastic. We tried to stay on Lake Como but nothing was available that we wanted and could afford. Lugano is not far from Como and the short trip was so worth it. We were not traveling with children but this is a wonderful resort for children with all kinds of facilities for them. This hotel is an amazing value for the money! No. We loved everything about this hotel!
Wonderful location and very warm welcome.
The management was very friendly and efficient Slow repleniidhment of single jug of juice at breakfast, which did not vary from day to day; lacvk of any fruit at breakfast
The wonder view of the lake from my balcony The road to the hotel as pointed out in another review was narrow, in some areas but the view while driving to the hotel from Lugano was breath-taking and marvelous. If I can drive it anyone can!!!
Nice rooms with nice breakfast. Hotel owner is nice too. Bathroom is too small
We loved the Hotel Europa. The reviews we read all rated the hotel excellent but complained about the difficulty in getting there. We say "get over it!" Obviously, these folks have little experience driving Italian roads, especially through the mountains. Yes, it's windy and at the far end of Lake Lugano, but well worth the trip. We spent 2 relaxing days there, after 8 days driving through Germany and Italy. The room had a spectacular view of the lake. The staff were wonderful--this is a family owned hotel, father and son, the son runs the hotel and the father is the chef. We ate dinner at the hotel both nights--very reasonable and some of the best food we had eaten in Italy. They even saved our opened bottle of wine to finish the next evening. We highly recommend the hotel--the lake front rooms are limited, so the farther you book in advance and make that request, would probably be best. We were there ahead of season, so it wasn't a problem. The only thing we missed was a refrigerator.
The hotel was not heated.
The location is attractive with sw aspect and should have been good but Porlezza is a very disappointing town and there was no life along the waterfront The hotel was "dead" and had a horrible end-of-season feel about it. The management were not interested in guests' well-being and were greedy. Guests were tolerated rather than made welcome. The restaurant was effectively closed. I asked for a bowl of soup but this was served only very reluctantly. I had booked a week there but stayed only 4 days, and that was 4 days too long. I moved to a far superior comfortable hotel in Menaggio on Lake Como at less cost, paying 60 euros per night b&B. The Hotel Europa price was a rip-off for its inferior service and rooms. other guests at the hotel europa left prematurely too, similarly being willing to forfeit a night's penalty just to escape!!! This hotel brings discredit to Booking.com.
Beautiful lakefront rooms with balcony and incredible views of lake and mountains. Great food, great location and personable staff. Pablo was a great help during our stay. No
Nice hotel staff with wonderful lake view and very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast was poor.
the helpfulness of the staff and the tourist menus Could not boil a kettle in the room without fusing the electrics of the room
Good size room, good restaurant Parking, and breakfast - it was OK
The staff was hepfull and kind Maybe a bit noisy in the evening
Excellent food (breakfast and dinner). Professional, friendly staff. Nice surroundings. It can be very loud at evenings as the hotel is a popular meeting point for locals. But it adds up to the Italian atmosphere.
Small but very nice hotel located close to Lugano and Como lakes. Perfect place to stay while visiting the region. Quite good restaurant downstairs. Hotel staff, even though very friendly, does not speak english. Air conditioning was not efficient enough.
The breakfast is excellent. The route to the hotel is rather a challenging drive, narrow roads and lack of street lamp.
The Food in the hotel is fantastic and compared to the area really good value for money. The staff are very welcoming and the hotel is a great standard. Its a little out of the way but it really was a great place to stay. One night there were some very noisy locals in the bar that were shouting till about 1 in the morning which was a real let down for our first night. This only happened the once but on the saturday there were some extreamly drunk locals in the bar in the afternoon as well which is a shame as it was a great place.
Very clean and tidy and good breakfast
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent in both quality of food and value for money No
Staff ok and good reasonable restaurant and bar If a light sleeper then the church clock may be noticed especially if a non balcony room
Decor was attractive and the staff was friendly and helpful Nothing
food ,staff ,place, all fab fab fab !!!!!
Very high up in the mountains. Long trip, difficult to find. But very cheap!
All the staff makes you feel comfortable No
The immediate coutryside is fantastic for walking and very near Lake Locarno
Charming staff -an excellent choice
