Excelsior Hotel Gallia exemplifies all that is special about Milan, a dynamic and creative capital of Fashion, Design and Gastronomy. An established landmark since 1932 and located in the center of the city, the hotel has a rich heritage that combines fluently with contemporary interior design that is seductively Milanese and reflects the finesse and character of the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not be more helpful - so pleasant and genuinely caring. The breakfast was the best range of healthy as well as delicious decadent treats. I have never before been offered a food bag to take drinks or water from the breakfast room. All staff were smiley and made you feel most welcome. A top class hotel.
Cons: Everything was superb - location, staff, rooms - so very tasteful- typical stylish Italian flair

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! Location, staff, breakfast, sports and spa facilities, great rooftop terrace and wonderful restaurant.... Rooms themselves are great... Recommend for a business traveler
Cons: Have now stayed here half a dozen times in the past year and apart from a stay when neighbours through an interconnected door to the adjacent room screamed at each other till 1am, best to try and ask for a room with no interconnecting doors.... Oh and the fact they will not allow you to iron clothes in your room is not great....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the room and hotel
Cons: Our view wasn’t great as we only could see trees.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is simply stunning. No matter what your requirements are, the hotel staff are happy to accommodate. A special thank you to Martina for her swift email responses and help! Rooms are super clean, well stocked and simply sublime. Room service is very good and breakfast has a vast array of food for every taste. All the staff are very happy and helpful. This hotel is simply beautiful and it’s the staff that make it so!
Cons: That it’s not next door to my home so that I can move into it!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very smart. Comfortable bed.
Cons: The lighting system in the room is counter-intuitive. Buttons with the same labels, operate different lives. Some lights are triggered by movement and do not switch off again. This is incredibly annoying and disturbing of good sleep. It’s also bad for the environment to have every light left on in the room on check-in.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality services

7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good and offered, compared to many other Italian hotels of the same category, a wide spectrum of food (including cheese and ham and vegtables, if you are more the salty kind).
Cons: -supermarkets (or any little food supplier/restaurant) far off
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is located 150m from the central train station, had no trouble finding it and walking there (with 2 pieces of luggage). Check in was fast and staff is extra friendly and helpful - bonus points for the very energic welcome, after a long day traveling! Rooms are spacious enough (stayed in a 5 beds) and have good A/C and the in-room bathroom was clean and perfectly functional (good shower pressure, hairdryer etc.). Half board provided (buffet breakfast and dinner) and some free food available 24/7 (fresh fruit and veggies, pasta, pasta sauce, yogurts, biscuits and breadsticks). Very quiet bedrooms and corridors, but lots of commonspace areas where one can be as loud as needed - quiet secret garden ground floor, very cool rooftop terrace 6th floor, nice breakfast area, well equipped kitchen, laundryroom, tv room, boardgames, free books, good wi-fi on all floors.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is a well taken care of place. They provide you anything you may need (including ear plucks). There is a nice terrasse on the ground and on the 6th floor and they also organise some activities. The staff speaks great english and are really helpful and reactive. My room had its own bathroom that was clean and big. Overall really great value for money.
Cons: Location is not amazing but it is practical because it is next to the central train station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A property that has a perfect system for everything. one of the best stays in Europe

Featured amenities include a business center, limo/town car service, and dry cleaning/laundry services. This hotel has 11 meeting rooms available for events. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The furniture, service, ambiance, cleanliness, decor, and gardens all exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was great and the service was unmatched.
Cons: Everything was great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really nicely appointed and comfortable hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is a bit far from the central district but offers a nice walk through nice neighborhoods while exploring. The hotel also has a nice gym and indoor pool. The staff were all very friendly.
Cons: The breakfast, at 45€/person, is a bit steep for what's offered; it's probably the only thing I didn't like about the property.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent along with the amenities. The property itself lavishly decorated and the people of good calibre. Great food and lovely surroundings
Cons: Maybe some simple features such as perhaps a kettle in the room
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s in quite place, away from walking street.
Cons: The rooms are very old. The amenities doesn’t suite 5 star hotel. No water bottles at night, ants everywhere. The beds are small not king size as it mentioned (two twin beds just but together). Information in the room about the breakfast is not the same as actual. Burnt food at the pool bar. I would say that this hotel needs a renovation. It’s too old, it’s even smell old. It close to a three star hotel.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle service to shopping area (very convenient when carrying a lot of bags) close to train station, delicious breakfast
Cons: Spa at hotel is overpriced and has mediocre spa service, otherwise hotel is fantastic!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception and concierge staff both very professional and kind. Excellent bar with perfect service. Overall the ambiance in general is very much Dorchester style which I prefer. I very much appreciated the roofing at the entrance of the hotel which was lined with flower baskets from which a cool perfumed mist welcomed and refreshed you upon entering. Last but not least the complementary limo service to and from the quadrilatero della moda.
Cons: Minor and yes almost invisible stains on furniture coatings in need of a fresh-up.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service, incredibly thoughtful staff, and beautiful surroundings are expected at this hotel. 5 star service, 5 star price. Make sure you work out a way to include breakfast, as it is expensive, but divine. Be wary about the high valet prices. Overall, you pay for what you get and this property does not disappoint.
Cons: High valet prices.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I was in a hurry to get to my appointments and they were very obliging in helping me check in super fast. Generally had a great experience with the hotel staff.
Cons: The breakfast pastries (breads and croissants) are sub-par.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I came here 3 years ago where the service was not up to marks but I can see now improvements in the services provided so I can say confidently it's highly recommended and worth the stay.
Cons: Nothing much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: cleanliness comfort and food there food is amazing a bit expensive for room service delivery but it is worth it.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceedingly beautiful with an old-world feel. Tall ceilings, sumptuously decorated in period style. The breakfast wasn't particularly 5-start, but I don't eat that much, so I'm not the best judge.
Cons: A relatively quiet location in Milan. Not the best choice if you want to be in the middle of all the action. Very good choice for honeymooners, couples, and maybe small families.
7.5 Good

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, clean rooms and new bath, with comfortable bed and fine sheets. The decor is a nice balance of traditional and contemporary. I would stay there again.
Cons: Hotel staff were friendly but did not meet the Relais & Chateaux standard. There is need of much more training. The restaurant is good with friendly staff, by not exceptional. Perhaps with time.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautiful inside, quite a lot of building work going on outside so didn’t look as nice as the pictures. Room was lovely and comfortable, our particular room didn’t have a shower just a bath so if you like a shower check your room has one. Just on the outside of the centre but easy enough to walk into. Would stay there again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The best breakfast, with all kinds of food and specialties you could wish. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was nicely decorated and very clean, the sheets were changed each day. Beautiful hotel.

Pros: Modern, clean, well-designed room (we upgraded to a suite).

Cons: The roof top bar & breakfast room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No view from the room
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff were extremely attentitive and nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Considering we were paying over £300 a night (breakfast not included) I was really disappointed that the air con in the room was simply non existent - very hot nights sleep. The icing on the cake however was the loud banging every morning, constant hammering drilling ect. It would appear improvements are being carried out to the hotel and we we’re not made aware. We did ask to move rooms and were advised someone would come back to us , we were ‘compensated’ with a free bottle of Prosecco whilst this was a nice touch it wasn’t the ‘relaxing’ holiday we were after.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: People
Cons: Form didn't follow function Controls not always intuitive and/or practical Design is great only when functional and faster... U don't need a computer to do 2+2...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very cool but still family friendly. Central and easy to access Metro. Great rooms and nice bar. A bit pricey, but hey, you’re in the middle of Milan. The concierge and staff write fantastic. Found places to eat, tickets to museums at short notice. Loved it.

Pros: Overall, a pleasant stay with nice pool and room
Cons: 110€ for late checkout after a 3 night stay and being a regular customer. Filipe, customer relations manager, seems to fail to understand his job

Pros: Things that I liked best: The attentiveness of the staff, the modern design, the rooftop pool and the access to all kind of public transport. Very good cost/quality ratio
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly, beautiful terrace and spa area. Very comfy bed and the room was quiet. Turn down service is also a nice touch.
Cons: The area as they say is “up and coming”. A little way from the main attractions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The interior design was beautiful. The roof top terrace and pool a great place to chill out.
8.8 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very high quality modern hotel with very clean rooms. Aircon was perfect in whole hotel area even outside temp was +35c. Very nice staff in the lobby/restaurant area. There was even one Finnish speaking person in the staff. Mojito’s were fresh made, really high quality!
Cons: Evening dinner selection was a bit small compared to fullsize restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Excellent staff and facilities, went extra mile
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Great clean modern.. 5 minute walk to the concert.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The hotel is very complicated to reach by telephone. Dirty table and bedside tables in the room. They are made of glass with an LED illumination built in them, and they are full of fingerprints of the previous customers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort ,?airconditioning is excellent
Cons: Decoration too juvenil and excentric
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Has a quirky and unique appearance. Hotel was about 10 minutes walk from linate airport, and close to buses to the city. Had a smart tv in the room which was the only entertainment available.
Cons: Hotel extremely poor and basic, rooms didn’t have robes, toothpaste or even toilet roll. Food in the main lobby extremely expensive, €12 for breakfast, €3 for a bottle of water and a menu of basic food around €8-14. Rooms didn’t even come with complimentary water, I’ve never been so dehydrated in my life. About 30-40 minutes bus ride to the cathedral and main attractions. Don’t bother taking a cab which costs €60 there and back, a big waste of money when the bus is really cheap. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, lacks basic amenities and not close to any shops. Just come here if you need to sleep and get to the airport quickly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish, attractive, and modern hotel with plenty of amenities. Comfortable bed and minimal noise from the airport. Friendly service! The lounge and lobby are especially inviting.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Great chic limited-conveniences Marriott Enterprise with no telephones in room or irons.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very close walk to the airport, although a tad tricky to find without GPS. An airport staff member who was getting off work actually ended up walking me over when I asked for directions! A testament both to how close the hotel was and how friendly the airport staff are. I had a simple room, but it came with a personalized television and clean bathroom with everything I needed. I had one of the first flights out of Linate next day, so I didn't book the breakfast, but depending on your booking that could be an option. There was no mini-fridge or tea/coffee set up in my room, but there is a bar downstairs in the lobby. Good free wifi throughout the hotel.
Cons: I arrived late, around 10pm for check-in, and there was a long line and only one staff member checking in (a second person arrived to help after a bit). I believe the last flight had just landed at Linate, which is why there was a sudden rush. Since everyone was so tired, it would have been nice to have more staff checking in––especially since there was some sort of premium member in front of us so the check-inn person had to take extra time to make them their special free welcome drinks and talk about point options, etc., while the rest of us were slumped exhausted over our luggage.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is great, the location is perfect, the room is large with comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and tidy.
Cons: The windows are small compared to the size of the room. The air condition made too cold in the room and the adjustment was not possible. We were cold even in the lobby.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel went above and beyond to welcome and take care of my wife and me during our stay. Hotel and room were clean and beautiful.
6.8 Good
Pros: Room was always neat with fresh towels everyday. Staff are accommodating and tried to help us during our first night when our room air conditioner was not working. On our second day, they moved us to a better room.
Cons: Hallways are warm and gloomy. Our room in the 8th floor was really warm on our first night, good that they provided us a fan since they said most of the rooms are booked and we cannot transfer. Breakfast could be improved. Few choices for a four star hotel. Two beds were given instead of a double bed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Cons: A little out of the way when travelling with kids but manageable. Gym was small and hot.

Pros: The lady at the check-in (forgot her name) was wonderful, she organized a birthday cake for my daughter the day before her birthday. The staff at the restaurant was very kind and even put a candle on it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Beautiful room (508) with a balcony and view of Central Station. Clean and comfortable. Easy to get to Duomo etc on metro which is a few mins walk inside central station.
Cons: The notice on the door in the bedroom clearly states breakfast is until 10.30am however it is NOT. It is until 10.00 and is not available after this time. The restaurant manager was not particularly helpful and was asking people who were still eating at 10.30 to hurry up as it closed at 10.00. I paid for a breakfast I didn’t get. He seemed more interested in setting up for lunchtime business and not in the paying hotel guests. Not at all accommodating. The signs in the rooms need to be corrected to show breakfast ends at 10.00am
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My favorite hotel in Milan. Very nice design, clean, stuff like in 5 star hotel.
Cons: Breakfast could be better, and parking could be a little cheaper.

Cons: The breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was great. Got to check in early
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, I was even surprised to see non dairy milk and butter along with some vegan sweet treats! The staff were super friendly and helpful (especially the breakfast and bartender staff in particular) and we received a 'welcome drink' upon arrival. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated and most importantly, spotless. The location was perfect as it was only a 20/30 minute walk to the centre and there were lots of cafes, shops and restaurants a few minutes away so there were plenty of options to choose from if you didn't feel like travelling into the city centre. There is a canal just outside the hotel too. Would recommend catching the sunset on the roof terrace for some beautiful views :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Perhaps pricy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel! Modern, chic! Great location 1/2 block off the Grand Canal where cafes, bars, restaurants & shops are endless! Reasonable prices every where not like in city center. Francesco, the bartender, was so pleasant, offering us ice for our room. He would prepare early evening hors d’oeuvres which one night became our meal! There was a roof top terrace & a beautiful breakfast room with a large buffet every morning. And a full sauna on the 6th floor to enjoy. Next trip to Milan will certainly bring us back to this hotel!
Cons: At check in, we were not told about all the great features of the hotel. We stumbled onto them during our stay. The check in attendant was probably having a bad day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location Great breakfast and snacks at the lobby
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, Overall good Quality, good value for Money
Cons: The welcome "Aperitivo" is cheap stuff, the guys at the reception are not so friendly, but these are peanuts.

Pros: Breakfast and the neighborhood close to restaurants/bars and public transportation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, good breakfast, quiet location, small supermarket near the hotel.
Cons: - Tap of the sink is too short, it was incomfortable to wash hands, brush teeth. - I paid an early payment to booking while reservation to get a discount, but while my check out the hotel didn't see that I've already paid until I showed an email from booking.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The price of the garage per night, especially when we didn’t have a car in the garage and only used it once when our daughter parked there when she dropped us off. I queried the bill as the receptionist just wanted me to pay without seeing the bill for the stay.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is great for enjoying the city of Milan. Not only is the hotel clean and beautifully decorated but the staff and the location are an extra plus. There is no way to get lost in the city of Milan with the help of the concierge and the metro station which is right next to the hotel. I enjoyed the sauna and the hot tub which added to the comfortable and relaxing stay at the hotel. Since there aren't a lot of things to do to Milan one euro from the hotel will allow you to see the whole city. THIS PLACE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. Spend your vacation in luxury.
Cons: I loved everything .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to accommodate us with any request.
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and very comfortable! The property is done really well. The room and bathroom was very spacious. The outdoor area was gorgeous. I loved having breakfast there in the mornings. The service was excellent. The staff was very helpful. Everyone I had talked to spoke English so communication was not a problem.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with amazing staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The junior suite rooms are big and spacious. We opted for the breakfast and use of spa included in the room price which was good value for money if there are more than 2 people in the room. We were a family of 4 and this worked out cheaper than paying separately. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want including a pancake making machine which the kids loved. The hotel has secure underground parking but costs 18 euros for 24 hours . The metro station Lodi TIBB is only 180m from the hotel entrance which is great. It’s 10 mins by Metro to the Duomo and main shopping a restaurant areas. The spa is very nice and was quiet when we were there . We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The gardens are beautiful and very peaceful to sit and relax in with a drink.
Cons: The only negative things I could mention is the WiFi signal in the room is very weak. We did mention this to the reception and they said they are trying to address this. Also the pool is only open from 15.00 to 21.00 which was a little disappointing as we wanted to swim in the morning .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel, very modern and clean. Great location, close to the train station.
Cons: .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was okay but not amazing - lots of variety but not all of it that nice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and modern. The staff very helpful. Breakfast very good and the room serviced daily.
Cons: That there wasn't a kettle and some tea sugar and milk in the hotel room. Also an iron would have been good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right near Central Station. We arrived later in the evening and the woman at reception was fantastic with our group and tried to make our family as comfortable as possible with the room situation. She also gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. They stored our luggage as we spent the day in Milan.
6.3 Good
Pros: The long hallway in the room which is convenient for packing luggage.
Cons: The hotel didn't notify us beforehand about the construction just next to the hotel behind the wall of our room. Loads of dust got into the room because of that and my brother got allergic to the dust and had running nose all the time during the stay. The workers start their work sharp at 8 am, so don't expect to spend a lazy holiday there...
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location close to the station
Cons: There is nothing bad to say
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small without a beautiful view of the city but cozy and modernized, the beds are very comfortable. The place is very convenient, in any direction, including 5 minutes walk to the train station. At breakfast time I expected to see someting like an Italian breakfast but it was a normal english breakfast, overall the food was delicious.
Cons: On the second day, we didn’t have some towels (but the dirty ones were taken to the laundry), also they forgot to put the toilet paper and shampoo. On the third day everything was fixed. You also need to check the availability of drinks in the bar with a price list.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly. The 2 staff members at breakfast were both fantastic, attentive and made us feel welcome.. check in and check out were both very peasant. The room was comfortable, modern and clean. I would stay again if I was in Milan
Cons: A pool would have been nice for hot days. But didn’t change how much I enjoyed the hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location if you arrive by train. Also directly linked to the center with the metro. The room was confortable and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good with a lot of things. It was my first time in Milano and I’d recommend the place

4.5 Okay
Pros: 1. the garden is nice, specially with the lighting during the night. 2. Location was convenient infront of a park and close to plaza del duomo.
Cons: 1. valet parking is around €40 per night and it is operated separate from the hotel. We drove to Milan and needed the car available 1x to 2x a day. In every occassion, it took up to 70 minutes to get the car. The hotel explained they outsource valet and they are unable to control it. what made me angry is that they argued during the 1 hour waiting. It made more logic to park at a Buenos Aires street and walk through the park to the hotel. however my partner is handicapped and it was a big hassle specially with bags, wheelchair and the heat. 2. food was outright terrible, the steak was ultra salted and over cooked when I ordered medium rare. the pasta was also salty and over cooked. they don’t seem to put any effort in the taste or texture of the food, just good presentation of the dish in how it’s decorated and high price by any means; I recommend to try one of many good restaurants outside of the hotel 3. The manager of the hotel was a relative of the owner or something similar because the treatment was not professional. When I reported the valet taking long, there was yelling and promises but nothing improved. The front desk young lady was very argumentative and answered questions with unrelated suggestions, for example “can you write the address down of museum X” she would reply, it’s not a good idea to visit museums, walk the park here is the map, basically, front desk was argumentative in general. poor level of hospitality management training. Front desk also had to say the last word in every interaction. I felt like I was in some sort of sour relationship instead of feeling that your in vacation. 3. The 4th floor hallway had a bad smell, it smelled like mold or dry old sweat. the carpet was old and stained. 4. we booked a room for 3 people and there was only a small couch which counted as a bed for the 3rd person, however they provided no sheets or extra blankets.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel and not expensive. Friendly staff - we were offered a free upgrade. Liked their outside bar, and ate a wonderful Italian meal at their restaurant. Breakfast was included and really delicious.

Pros: Check out process
Cons: Location, noisy room, room quality

Cons: Maybe a little bit loudy due to traffic noise from street (of course this is for only rooms with the street view)
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was really good with the variety of food. Restaurant on the top floor with panoramic view made it even better. Shower with lighting looks cool
Cons: My room was on the street side where the tram line is, tram makes much noise
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, beds super comfortable, great bathroom
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything in the hotel was good! We stayed in the hotel more from the perspective of clean room and good washroom... 2 days stay we were anyways planning to explore Milan and lake como, so did not go for a very high end hotel. Only thing which made us really upset was we ordered omelettes in buffet breakfast (actually suggested by the staff) as we don’t eat meat. He did not tell us that they would charge for the same and not a part of buffet. They charged 28 euros for omelettes. This was absurd and the only thing which we can point out as negative during our stay !
9.5 Excellent
Cons: The toilet seat was broken
9.3 Excellent
Pros: good hospitality by all employees
Cons: eqipment relatively old
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, room is perfect for a short city trip, free parking (!!), located 3 minutes from metro

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great next to Gambara startion on the red line. Close to the fairgrounds, cadorna, duomo and other essential locations. The breakfast was ok but gets a bit boring on the third day. Not really a problem. Rooms are aging a bit but convenient.
Cons: The room price was overrated. This is mainly due to the Salone del Mobile. Too expensive during the fairs.
