Marbella Beach is a huge 5-star hotel on the eastcoast of Corfu next to the sea. Taxi from the airport takes about 20min and cost ~30Euro. If you're looking for awesome views this is the place to be. Almost everywhere you have breathtaking views over the sea and the Albanian mountains. The staf is very friendly and serviceminded even if some of them don't say much. Marbella have an artificial private beach built with nice sand and sunchairs. The water is very clear if you like to dive. The food was OK but not the best. Lucky they had many choices so you always found something to eat. Our room had a great terrass with a wonderful view but there where also rooms with bad locations. You can go to Corfu town by bus (cost 3Euro for 2 ppl). The diningterras had a great location but we could not use it because of the bies. They where eveywhere and searched for food so we had to sit inside. The beds where rockhard and the room wasn't close to 5-star even if some hotelareas was really nice (I guess that is how Greece is). The rooms where also very loudy. We went for the Halfboard (not all-inclusive) and the problem here was that drinks wasn't included in the dinner so we had to pay extra. Even for the water. Another problem was the sunchairs on the beach, we had to wake up about 7.30AM to put our towels on the chairs to get one. After 8 AM there was no more space. Mostly russians so we didn't spoke with many people but I think for the money and the location the hotel was worth it
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pools were clean. Many activities were offered for family entertainment, such as archery and darts. The food was delicious and varied for different palates.
We liked the nice, clean area of the hotel, nice beach with easy descent into the sea, nice staff and good food. The hotel sometimes celebrate a wedding, it hurt a little rest (loud music until 2 am).
The private beach was lovely, sea very clean and the facilities were great and the location was really good. The food was ok. This is not a 5 star hotel, more like a 3 star, we had very basic rooms, dimly lit and without a minibar and the bathroom looked tired. We were not allowed water with our meal being on Half Board which we were surprised about and we had to beg for tap water with our meal. Apparently it did not include even soft drinks with your dinner, it was not that clear to us. The staff were not very happy at Reception and we had to call 2 times for housekeeping and our room was miles away from the main part of the hotel.
The quality of the hotel is in general very good. Easy access to the beach, 2 good fresh water pools and 1 excelent sea water pool. The food at all restaurants is very good. The staff is very friendly providing a good atmosphere to the hotel. The all inclusive package needs to be improved. In comparison with other European locations it is too limited for a 5 star hotel.
excellent hotel cant really fault it, especially the day time bar staff. the night bar staff were not hospitable and rude.
rooms, garden, beach air conditioner was switched on after the brawl with the receptionist
Location, the view from our balcony was very beautiful (we stayed at the 3rd floor. The first and the second have trees that interfere with the view), entering the sea was very smooth, having to walk 20 meters into water to reach waist level, the food was very diverse and good (we had half board), the very beautiful garden that could be used for sun-bathing. We requested one double bed when we made the reservation and we received 2 beds side by side. The fact is that after I made the reservation I called the hotel and they confirmed the we would receive one double bed and we didn't. At dinner there was no water included so we had to buy a 1,5 L bottle for 2 euro from the hotel.
Very friendly staff, excellent service, relaxing place. The quality of the food - dinner. Even if there was a big variety of different kinds of meals the quality of the meat wasn't so good.
веасH place Dinner no drink,
Very nice, quiet area. You can walk to the next village and find everything there (supermarkets, restaurants...). Very friendly and helpful staff. Big and spacious rooms. The hotel has a beutiful garden. The breakfast could be more carefully organised. But the variety and taste were very good.
The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was perfect.
Perfect location, on the beach. Poor breakfast.
Lovely family run hotel offering comfortable accommodation with open sea-views. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Hotel is located near super market (2 min walk) and you will find just about everything you may need here. The food in the hotel is fresh, good portions and excellent value for money - we ate lunch daily at the hotel since it was so worth it. Vassilis & Dimitris (the brothers than run the hotel) are very down to earth and provided us with immediate assistance whenever we requested.
Relaxed atmosphere, closeness to the beach, good pool, green territory. Bathroom facilities are really basic.
Excellent location between the main road and the beach. Good atmosphere with nice garden: very relaxing! Large rooms. Everything (beach, shops, bus stop...) is around 100-200mt from the hotel included a good restaurant. Very helpful staff! Bathroom may need some refurbishment and air-conditioning works only when you are in the room.
friendly and quiet for families or couples, the pool area was great!the owner very friendly and helpful. i think needs one renovation in the rooms
We really enjoyed our stay! The environment was very green and nice and with a beautiful poolarea! The staff did everything for us and we became good friends! Perfect for families. Spacy room with a bit simple furnishing, but all the equipment we needed. We give them our best recommondations and will certainly be back. The beds were a bit hard.
Franco is the best part of my experience at the Hotel Helios Splendid. He gave me suggestions on where to go every day and loaned me his wife's bicycle to get around in for a day prior to my rental. I rode to the near fishing village of Petreti where I went swimming and took pictures of the boats coming into port in the morning. He is only open during the holiday season and is of the old school where attention to the needs of his guests is important. This is not a dislike, but a notation/observation about the current trend in Europe. There are no phones inside the rooms so any phone calls that need to be made for a car or otherwise need to be made from the reception desk. Franco is more than glad to help out, but be aware that if you are from the US, you should buy a cellular in Corfu Town before three O'Clock every day at Vodafone. Buy a Greek phone, get ten euros worth of phone time and that will be enough for you to have a phone for emergencies. Nobody tells you these things beforehand. You just find out when you get there. Also, there is no bus service to Boukari. The roads are too narrow. There are no cash machines in Boukari. The nearest cash machine is in Moraitika.
a special place, in a quiet village, far from the tourist crowds, and it gets even better if you have a car or if you rent a scooter, given that there are many beaches and fish tavernas around. We particularly enjoyed our long breakfasts in the garden and evenings reading in the balcony.
The owner was very friendly and helpful even though he speaks only greek and italien. If you plan to travel anywhere on the island you should rent a car. Taxis are expensive and the buses run on time, but not frequently. Car rentals are very reasonable and you'll cover the cost quickly if your alternative is taxis.
The hotel was in a quiet location with a few tavernas close by but mainly fish restaurants. A car is useful as the larger town is about 5Km away. A small supermarket is just down the road with an English owner, useful as Franco the hotel owner speaks very little English. Franco is very helpful and there are plenty of sitting out areas around the hotel. He does own four dogs though! They bark a lot but are friendly. We went at the end of October and the weather wasn't good which meant no hot water on some days! Franco supplied us with extra blankets as the rooms are designed to be cool. There should be no problems in the summer.
The calmness of the site and the coolness of the afternoons. The garden is very beautiful. I found the manager to be very friendly and informative. Though he only speaks Italian well, we got along in French with the odd word of English. Boukari is lovely as a resort, totally charming. If you go, stay at the Helios, you will not be sorry. I liked Dick and Dick, the dogs, though they do bark a bit! There was nothing I disliked about my stay.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Quiet location in beautiful surroundings Although the hotel is located in Greece, the only language spoken by the owner is Italian. Communication can be difficult at times
cleaness, aircondition, close beach, good taverna, supermarket, good price, beautiful garden, nice place for breakfast The manager does not know english- only Italian, to me it was a problem.
Off the beaten track, not touristic, friendly owner, great views from balcony, walking distance to beach and variety of good tavernas for food. Not really!
