When I drove away. Expedia agent who assured me in trying to deal with this nightmare. Losing $100 because the condition of the room was horrible and having to find alternate accommodations and pay again after a long day of driving. i was not going to stay there with my son. The person who helped us was pushy and agressive and I felt not kind or understanding. The room had clumps of hair on the floor, was smoke smelling and dirty.
A dump that offered a rate that was $30 less per night than online. The website indicated it overlooked the lake which was complete bull. A nice hotel across the road did overlook the lake and was $25 less per night. Next time I will pass on these online "deals" and book direct with the hotel. Lots of vacancies so no worries that there will be no rooms.
The employees were very nice and pleasant. I'm not sure why — if this was a seasonal thing or a Wells Gray Inn thing or what — but we were here in mid-October, when it was just getting very cold, and the place had an infestation of these terrible bugs that looked like crickets but could fly. I first found one in the bathroom and killed it. A little while later I found one in the hotel room, we killed it, and then my brother started looking around and in rapid succession killed 4 more. We added a few more to our total that night and the next morning. My brother said he saw a bunch on the outside of the building the next morning, so whatever it was it wasn't just our room. It's very possible this is just something common in the area and not particular to this hotel, or something seasonal, I'm really not sure. But there it is: we were not pleased.
Clean quiet Restaurant is only open at night with an average price of $20.00 per item. Overall dinner for two is more than $45.00. It is a roadside diner not a nice place. Next time we'll eat somewhere else.
The location was good. The staff was helpful and friendly. Parking, WiFi and breakfast were included.
