Pros: Everything was great. Sergeï and Marie are incredible hosts. They make you feel home. The house is quiet and relaxing. The dinner (you have to eat there) is amazing, like the breakfast ! Don’t miss house vodka, which is an excellent apéritif
Cons: Nothing. Really.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay, very friendly welcome, comfy bed, free water available, delicious breakfast. Only negative was the curtains, which were way too small for the window, letting in lots of light- bring an eye mask, or prepare to be awoken early by the sun
Cons: Curtains didn’t blooout the light
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food, very nice hosts, beautiful garden.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: It´s better than a 5-star hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time at Green Stone! The rooms are very comfortable and each include their own bathroom. The pool and yard were lovely, as was the view. It was a great stopping off point for trips to Vayots Dzor Marz. The owner, Karmen, was an amazing host, and made the most delicious breakfast, full of homemade jams, yogurt, pastries. It was really amazing! We would love to visit again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Great meals, cute garden, amazing staff
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Obviously I loved this place. It is a homestay, and the hosts make you feel like one of the family without being intrusive. Our hostess Karmen is undoubtedly one of the best cooks in Armenia. She prepared a dinner that was the most delicious and memorable of our entire trip, eaten outside in the garden. Over dessert, we chatted with Karmen and her husband and got to know more about the country. In the room and bathroom, Karmen has thought of everything from quality shampoos to body lotion and slippers. Breakfast was another culinary treat with her homemade pastries, array of homemade jams and preserves, and delicious chicken croquettes. I would definitely come back.
Cons: Nothing. It was a perfect stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed one night. We arrived late in the afternoon, and we were made to feel at home right away! The garden was a perfect setting for the very tasty homemade dinner with a variety of salads, homemade bread, a chicken dish prepared with vegetables, a variety of beverages and wine, and chocolate cake for dessert. Breakfast with pancakes, pastries, and a variety of homemade jams and marmalades, fresh fruit and so much more got us to a great start for the day!
Cons: We had a very restful stay.

Cons: Everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts (included) and dinners (additional cost but very much worth it!) are incredible, the family are wonderful hosts and the guest house is sparkling clean.
Cons: WiFi is only available in the common living room, not in the bedrooms are outside. The shared bathroom is fine if there are only 4-5 guests staying but we found there was a long wait to use the toilet or shower when there were 6-7 guests (including us). The guesthouse can accommodate 10+ people when full, so I probably wouldn’t choose to stay in high season!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice sunset view in this hilltop guest house. And the families are very nice and helpful. Mom will cook big dinner for you and you need a big appetite.
Cons: Pillow were too big, actually it’s an cousin not a pillow. Maybe they could change them.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room with a big shared living room and kitchen. It felt like being in your own house. Especially having breakfast on the balcony with the great view to the green garden and the mountains was a pleasant start in the day! The location is a bit uphill and hidden, perfect if you enjoy and prefer the silence!
Cons: The family was quite reserved and not eager to have too much social interaction. Which is a bit sad for a homestay. The breakfast consisted of plenty carbs and heavy stuff. We prefer it healthy and asked for fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, our request could not be fulfilled...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really liked the staff there. They were extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable. The view from the balcony was incredible. Fantastic breakfast that was included. Overall a very good ambiance.

Cons: Nothing that I could think of.

Also the girl at the reception (who speaks a perfect English) knowing it was my birthday she made me found a small cake with a candle for breakfast! very good position for visiting some very beautiful places (tatev, norovank etc)
Cons: The bathroom of the room was quite small and with no window/vent
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good stopover location for the night on a road trip from Yerevan to the south after passing the Vardenyats Mountain Pass. They have a restaurant and a sunny terrace, from where you can admire the surrounding mountains.
Cons: The decor doesn't agree with everybody. The hotel is supposed to look like a castle, so the lobby is wide open, which makes it very noisy.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, big room--they upgraded me from a basic single to a corner suite With a balcony because they had so few guests at this time of year. But even the single would have been a great value for the comfort and quality if the place. Very good dinner and breakfast. Warm, welcoming service.
Cons: No complaints.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food, both breakfast and dinner, were cooked as we arrived at the table. Dinner especially was very good. The location was superb, with a view over the town and mountains beyond. Had their own car park.
Cons: The only slight problem was the lack of a lift, this applies to most places outside the capital and to be fair we could have asked for a ground floor room.

Pros: Armenian hospitality at its best! The hosts are very pleasant people, helpful and kind. Most of the food of supper and breakfast is of the their own production, and very tasteful. Great homemade vodka!
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where can I start? The beds are a little hard and the shower is a bit difficult to handle, but if you are looking for an authentic place to really experience Armenia then Shushan is the place to be. Gohar and Babken are the nicest people and made my stay enjoyable and memorable without any doubt. Food was delicious, room and shared facilities were perfectly clean. I also liked Babken's homemade apricot Vodka and our conversations via Google Translator a lot :-) During my stay, I went on a hiking trip to Spitakavor and Babken even took me to the starting point of the trail with his jeep. The time I spent there was definitly the best part of my whole trip and I would really recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Armenian hospitality and simply have a great time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, lovely landscape! We stayed teo nights in Vernashen and they were one of the best during our journey across Armenia! Perfect for hiking and the hosts took care of everything else (taxi, delicious meals, cleaning etc.). Shnurhakalutyun, mernem serdit!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My stay in Shushan Guest House made my trip in Vayots Dzor be special :)! Fresh air, beautiful panorama of rocky mountains, sounds of birds, trees of fruits (, and sometimes cute cat) : environment of this guest house is perfect. In breakfast and dinner, I enjoyed some authentic Armenian dishes which Gohar cooked. I really love her dishes, like chicken kebab, flied fresh vegetables with eggs, flied minced meat, mash potatoes with some herbs, and blackberry jam. Shat hamoba! The owner Bapken and his wife Gohar welcomed me as their daughter, so I can stay there as if I spend in my house. Bapken took me to his garden and his friend’s house, go shopping at supermarket etc., after I came back from my trip around Vayots Dzor. I always spent nice and funny time with him! Honestly speaking, I’m really amazed at their kind and warm hospitality in every moment during my stay. I should come back when I visit Vayots Dzor again! Shat shrorhakalutyun, paka ❤️

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The friendly host! They are so nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners did everything for me to feel comfortable and like home. The breakfast was really good, the dinner delicious and visits to the surrounding places were organised spontaneously. To Noravank we went with the really cool jeep. Questions about transport etc are answered honestly and the best option is choosen for you. The house is not directly on Yeghegnadzor - but with the great view the location is even better. So perfect stay :-) Thank you :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome by the owner, he shared excellent homemade wine and vodka with us and drove us to some sights in the area. He took his time to explain many things to us, they produce a lot of their own (delicious!) food (wine, jam, honey...). Very spacious and comfortable rooms, a beautiful property.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very kind and do their best to make us feel at home. I parked the car in the garage and they gave me all the information requested.
Cons: I want to make some constructive criticism so that they can improve. The beds, besides small, had the mattress in wire, not allowing a good rest. In fact, it is almost impossible to sleep in such a bed. The curtains let all the light through, and at night, with the lights on, we have no privacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were really nice and welcoming. Also, since it was not busy, instead of 3 bed room they gave me 2 bed room and I stayed alone there. Which was really cool to have some privacy. The room was warm and clean. So was the bathroom. The wifi worked well. And the area was quite. No noise whatsover. Also they got some hammocks to chill outside!
Cons: All was really good.
8.3 Excellent

Pros: It a lovely traditional family guest house with a great owners. They are friendly and helpful. Breakfas was tasty and just enough. I will come back for sure

The bed and breakfast offers a continental or Full English/Irish breakfast. A barbecue can be found at Old Bridge B&B, along with a terrace.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners, they gave us a lot of insides and know how about hot spots. Owner is also very knowledgeable in wine tastings and harvesting. Try his selection of Armenien grapes. Inform owner upfront than you can get homemade very tasty dinner as well. The gardenpool is a refreshment
Cons: Nothing to complain about!!! my room was to much illuminated by sun in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent views, tastiest breakfast and great wine from the family-run winery. The living room is cosy with fire place and gramophone. Totally recommended!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A great place. The hosts are fantastic and provide excellent service. A magnificent dinner was offered (at a cost) as was tasting of their own produced wine (which, by the way, is excellent). It was great to soak up in their pool after a hot day.
Cons: When you are here, you are here. If you intend to go out on town in the evening, it's a bit of a hike. Not that there is necessarily much to see there, but anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this was an extraordinary stay: we had a big double room with our own bathroom and two (!) balconies overlooking the city. the house is big, there is an always refreshing pool and the garden (fruits of all kind) looks like paradise. the hosting family was very friendly and always helpful, they speak perfect english so communication (as in other stays in Armenia) was never a problem. The food was extraordinary good, for the rest of our stay this set the tone and we still sometimes crave about the barbeque and the fish we ate here. the host is also a vine-grower and produced some of the best (and definitly the best I tasted) red wine in Armenia (also called Old Bridge, Areni red). This place is really really recommended, it's paradise!
Cons: We were spontaneously invited to a wine testing, the wine was extraordinary good (probably the best red wine we drank in Armenia). We didn't know and weren't told that the testing costs extra, it was well worth it anyway, but it would have been fair to talk about the cost beforehand.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was kind and friendly. She was accomodating and offered us tea or coffee on our arrival. Have us extra blankets and pillows.
Cons: We were a bit disappointed with the hotel given its high ratings. Our room was very small with little or no tables to keep bags / luggages. Admittedly the other room with balconies is a very good size. Hardly any charging points in our room. Bathrooms were tiny with no ventilation and erratic water temperature. Bed wasn't too comfortable either. The outdoor season pool is very small as well. In terms of spread this was also the smallest and simplest breakfast during our holiday in Armenia.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views from the balcony and extremely helpful host, who kindly made us a lovely dinner at the last minute.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The amazing treat given by the staff during all of our stay. Right after checking in, a bowl of locally grown fruit and a cup of coffee/tea is served to you. The dinner is also amazing, specially because accompanied with the property's own wine!
Cons: Nobody talks about dinner's prices (neither the dinner itself nor the wine's). It is well worth it but you just come to know how much did it cost when you check out.
8.8 Excellent

Pros: Nice place at the end of the valley. The guy at reception was very friendly and helpful, willing to make us feel confortable and give us all information we needed. Indoor pool and some other facilities. Hotel has a free map of the region with roads, monasteries, and other hotspots. They can provide tours all around, including 4WD tour to some petroglyphs in the mountains, which we didn't have time to do.
Cons: Buffet is ok. Music in the evening in the outdoor bar is a bit loud but fortunately our room was on the opposite side and it wasn't disturbing. Crowded with kids.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was one of the best hotels I've ever been. It's not very special, luxury and so on, the rooms is simple, but the staff was so helpfull and welcoming that i was very impressed and happy. The territory of the hotel is very nice, full of flowers, with fountains and cozy nooks. We had yoga event there, so i've been with the group of different people. We had kids of 3 y.o., elderly and young participants and as far as i know all these people liked the place very much. The food was very good. Maybe breakfasts were a little bit monotonous if you're staying for a week as we did, but lunches and dinners was very good. Aslo you can have perfect turkish coffee and armenian brandy any time a day. There's also a lot of variuos armenian vines which you can try during mealtime (or maybe not only, i don't know) at extra charge, of course. As i said the staff was very helpful and kind. All the problems were solved immediately, they even offer me to cook something special for my kids, when noticed that my kids do not eat well (the food was very good, kids just had such period). They helped us with excursions, transfers, guides and it was perfect. Jeep tours which they're organizing in the vicinity of the hotel are extremely interesting. Highly recommended!

Pros: Lusya is kind and nice person which wants you to feel really comfortable. You have full service and care from her, sometimes too much. Everything is super clean, all the time. Really nice and tasty breakfast. The place is really quiet.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The garden.
Cons: NO WAY / PRISON. Lussi is like a soviet guardian. You can t move / clean yourself / cook / eat / speak without her being behind you. DON T TRY TO PUT YOUR BACKPACK ON THE WALLS OR sit on your own blancket , she would kill you.Room were freezing (14°), she refused to put on the heater. Amazing! Fortunately we were 4 friends and could (at beginning) laugh about it. But after 2 hours, we just wanted to leave the place. Don t even try to decide when to have a shower / bring your food or whatever. Place hard to find. Beds are 1m75 long. She doesn t speak russian or english. She just looks at the money you are going to pay and the comments you will give. Breakfast is without tea / coffee (don t try to ask for it) and very light. Travelling alone would have been a nightmare.

6.3 Good
Pros: The house is nice and furniture is brand new. The room is spacious, nice showers and garden. Nice breakfast.
Cons: There is lack of privacy and freedom. The host follows you everywhere and is always around you. We went with my partner trying to find a quiet place to stay and rest after long hikings and it was not possible. Also the host is always asking you for possitive reviews and selling things. It was uncomfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast is good, the area quiet and everything is very clean. I would even say toooooooooo clean. But she is a funny old lonely lady who trys her best. You can use the kitchen. Must be a great place for familys with kids!!!!! Frank the Bärliner
Cons: She doesn' t speak much english, means you need google translate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really tasty breakfest. All house is really clean, an owner is so great person. It was a nice accommodation
Cons: An owner sometines its too polite. But I firmly understand this, because she live alone in the suburbs, so maybe it is the only occasion for talking with new people
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lucya is a great host, a mama with a big heart. The house was clean, pretty clean. Lucya even offers washing service against a little fee.
Cons: The pillow were a bit hard. She should have another set of soft pillow

Felt like being part of the family. Excellent food cooked by Armina, a lot of it grown in their own garden. Homemade dried fruit, very special. Clean. Good Wi-Fi.
Cons: This is not a private bathroom. Since I was the only guest I had it all to myself, but still required me to leave the room to get to it.

Pros: The owner is a very nice person, we appreciated a lot to talk with her around a coffee and a tea !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The experience... Definitely a place you will remember...it is hard to describe by words :))) Go there just for a night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great experience. Sonia is a great host irrespective of her capacity to speak English - we managed to get along just fine with a lot of different languages and gestures. It's a grabs soviet hotel fallen on hard times which is fascinating, but obviously you could spend much more for something more modern.
Cons: I was initially excited about the chance to rent a bike, but this wasn't possible.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very nice woman running the place. Good breakfast.
Cons: This the ghost of a hotel that closed years ago. Despite the heroic efforts of the one-person staff, this place is a disaster. Hotel heat was off and space heater never got the room above 10 C (50 F); no heat at all in the bathroom which stayed around 1 C. The running water died 2 minutes into my shave. Electrical outlets were all hanging out of the wall and only one worked; space heater cord was spliced with electrical tape. No working light in the bedroom. No light in long hotel corridors with peeling paint and holes in the floor. Floor in ballroom? by the stairs has collapsed. Main entrance shuttered. I'd booked for 2 nights but checked out after the first. No heat in winter and no running water are intolerable; dangerous broken electrical system scary.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Sona (the manager, who did everything in the hotel - the only staff member) was super helpful. This is an old school, dilapidated Soviet hotel building with only 2-3 rooms in use. I was the only person staying, and Sona did her best to make sure that my stay was good, despite being the only staff member, the limited facilities and language barrier!
Cons: Just beware the hotel has no central heating; I huddled close to the portable heater Sona provided and got many blankets to stay warm :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's not everyday that you can have an entire former Sovjet hotel to yourself. Coming back in the nighttime when all the lights are switched off is quite an experience. If you don't like to walk alone through dark squeaky hallways in the nighttime this place is not for you. The room was clean and comfortable enough. There's a modern bathroom. Sonja is a very nice lady and she prepared an excellent breakfast.
Cons: There wasn't anyone there when I arrived at the hotel, but I went to the Yeritasardakan café around the corner to have lunch and used their wifi to contact her.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s an old soviet hotel, big property with a nice garden but now only a couple of rooms are possible to use. You can see curtains on the beds and not all lights and switches for them are working but it’s VERY clean and the manager lady is super sweet. It includes good breakfast.
Cons: See the pictures: it’s exactly like in them: old and old fashioned, a bit scary at night, but worth a try.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Central location
Cons: The doors are locked all night from 6pm and the person running the hotel is not on the premises so it's not possible to go outside. The shower did not work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is post soviet hotel. I was there alone for a night - bit scary (even more than a bit) :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We liked this place so much we stayed here twice! Host is wonderful -- she will make you feel right at home. Room is spacious and has a balcony with a view of the garden and mountains.
