Kempinski High Tatras is a Luxury hotel with a perfect balance between high standards, excellent service and reasonable prices. We have really appreciated the discretion, availability and efficiency of all employees. Gardening with noisy material under our windows at relatively early hours could be avoided.
Lovely design combining old and new. Huge rooms, very comfortable bed. Luxurious spa. Excellent breakfast and perfect way of cleaning the room. Some staff far from Kempinski standard, particularly the spa manager. Concierge could not recommend a restaurant in nearby towns immediately. Body lotion + 3 other body products in our room and in the spa, as well as the marmelade at breakfast were past their expiry dates !!!
staff involvement The noise of children and lack of education
Excellent staff, perfect room, very good food. All was OK>
The people, service, desing, and the place where it is, just fabulous... The food was average. I mean normal menu, the breakfast fantastic... but I told this to the reception and they told me, that they are currently waiting for new chef...
This hotel is in a 100 year old building that can only be described as elegant. The workmanship of the building itself is almost reason enough to stay. The setting, on top of a mountain with a breathtaking view is incredible. The staff, is educated and perceptive to the needs of the guest. The Wine Steward is a bit of con man.
The hotel staff and attention to detail is first class. The rooms are of the standard you would expect from a five star hotel. Spa area, swimming pool, again first class. Only downside, drinks a little on the expensive side. Cant fault the hotel or the staff, perfect.
We loved the lake view from our room and the large comfortable rooms full of every amenity. The breakfast was by far the best I had in Europe during our stay. The walk around the lake is very pleasant. Restaurant was a bit pricey. A couple of the saunas were accessible only if you were without clothing. I'm not fond of public nudity much. The close proximity of the other resorts caught me off guard.
Everything. The room, the amenities and the spa were outstanding. Nothing.
Spa area is just perfect! The staff attitude is very poor and not on the good level.
Great view of the lake from the spa, friendly service, nice spa Badly smelling corridor to the rooms (probably from the glue when renovated), cold floor in the bathroom (paving), wifi in the room wasn't strong enough, expensive spa treatments and restaurant but it corresponds to 5* hotel
Food was good Didn't fix my broken phone, didn't provide room service, poor concierge service, didn't inform me i was due a discount as part of a wedding party
Very good hotel, lovely view from our hotel room
Nice old hotel in a good place but a litle "cold".The people at the reseption are very nice, but they dont speak very good english, same in restaurant. The water in swiming pool and jacuzi is cold, after a day at ski place you want a warm swiming pool! In sauna men and women stay together...
free use of sauna/pool
it was an interesting hotel in an interesting little town the rooms weren't as nice as I expected for the price. Our room was quite small without great features.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the history of the hotel. I like the service and the lounge the most where I can stay there for a piece of cake and a pot of tea during the early night reading a book by the fireplace.
It's isolation, very relaxing We had a double bed but with two single duvets on it???!! Not very romantic!!! Would have been nice to have one kingsize duvet to go with the bed. That's my only complaint though..
Excellent location, lovely and friendly staff, rooms clean, over all very good hotel. the only think is when we came they gave us room on the side where the car park is. The room was small and for the money too expensive. Next day we asked for room on the other side with a lovely view of the mountains. What a difference. Rooms much bigger and most have balcony!!! So if you do stay ask for the rooms with the view of the village/mountains.
common spaces are really nice and probably redone recently the room furniture and bathroom appliances very very old fashioned and needing refurbishing immediately
Nothing outstanding about the hotel! The hotel was very basic and did not match the description on the internet.
the retro feeling the toilet paper was rubbish and the shower was also rubbish
service, disponibility of personnel quite old furnitures
Price is accorndingly with the hotel services and quality. They have a place to rent ski equipment which is very convenient.
In walking distance to Aqua Park, Resturants & Town Centre The room served its purpose but was very out dated compared to reception, Bar & Resturant. Slow Service at Reception.
The location. And though its christmas time, the restaurant n bar were open, so no issues.
Friendly staff, old fashioned decor, good breakfast, plenty choice. Easy reach from the station and the town. Not far from Aqua City.
Friendly reception who tried hard to help. Basic rooms for a 3-star hotel. Quality of fittings weren't great.
Staff very helpful and cooperative, making decisions to resolve issues that resulted in a worry-free stay. Very convenient location for both stations and city amenities. Buffet breakfast beyond what we expected for a budget hotel.
Top class location for both mountain walks in summer and skiing in winter.beds and room very comfortable. Classiest hotel in the area.
style of hotel wellness centre and service
Location is perfect, in the middle of Stary Smokovec. Pool and sauna are very nice. Hotel staff at reception is not friendly / helpfull. Bathroom is very simple: only a bath without even a screen or curtain: bathroom is all wet after a shower! Hotel restaurant was closed because of a wedding. There are certainly better options considering price/quality.
The town itself and the surroundings were beautiful.. The restaurant and breakfast were impressive! Reception staff weren't too friendly and didn't seem to answer the phones... Friends were trying to call the hotel relentlessly and would get no answer!
Beautiful old hotel, from the North side marvellous view to the highest summits. Traditional café and restaurant. Next to "lanovka". On the 3th floor thin walls, everything can be heard from the next room. First the room was rather cold as on of the radiators was full of air, I have repaired it myself. Gaps on wall and wallpaper.
Very comfortable hotel and were made to feel very welcome. Great attention to detail.
- The size and forniture of the appartment - Staff of hotel does not really speak English, and they were not helpful, all the wellness centre was not available. Extra 10€ for pets.
The room, the fact that it had a dressing room for storing your luggage, the kitchen and the ambiance in the room; the personnel from the front desk -breakfast - when some dish was finished, they would not bring some more; one morning there was only very old bread, the juice was dilluted with water most of the days; if you needed a spoon you couldn't find any. One day there was no milk and there was this guy who asked for milk, and they filled his glass but still did not bring any in the bowl. Also, the staff was sometimes eating from the food for the guests...
Very good apartments, including two rooms and kitchen. Good location. Breakfast was almost absent. Hotel's restaurant is owful, so you should take care of your meals yourself. Room cleaning was not good.
The very spacious apartment was well furnished and lit. We did not use the kitchen there; however, it should be noted that there is no dishwasher should you be inclined to stay here for a long period of time. The "wireless internet" does not exist. Only wired in the room - but free. One port only. So, my husband and I had to do tandem internet work. The hotel provides you with the very long wire that reaches to anywhere in the apt.
Very nice apartment hotel with well equipped big rooms for affordable price. Excellent location for Tatra hiking. Very convenient parking.Good value for money.
The hotel staff did not speek english
We found the location of the hotel very practical. The nearby train station is a benefit and not noisy at all. Rooms are modern, with a small kitchen. In-room cable LAN worked fine. We did not use any other of the hotel's facilities. The counter will provide you with enough hiking tips for 10 days. We found the breakfast buffet good value for money and enjoyed the local touch of the food.
It was close to the hiking trails and to the lake. The staff wasn't too helpful. We had two rooms and one of them was very cold. They offered firewood for 5 Euros instead of a different room although the hotel was nearly empty. (But finally - when we asked it - they gave us a new room, which was ok.)
A fantastic location, top class facilities resulting in a completely relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Modern, clean, view of the High Tatras The hotel is part of Aqua City which is open to the general public and is always crowded, no exclusivity to guests of the hotel. Hotel parking always full, had to park on other parking lots. Noisy concerts in Aqua City. No AC in rooms. Can't take shower after midnight because of low water pressure (cleaning of Aqua City), had to intervene on arrival after 12h drive. Discount prices when booked through hotel website, we paid full price because we reserved through booking.com. Expected much more for the exclusive price.
Fantastic pools both indoor and outdoors. Polite staff. Clean nice rooms with good design. There should be more signs in the hallways so that it would be easier to find your way to all the different pool areas. The name of the hotel should be placed on the outside wall of the hotel.
The combination of the hotel and aquapark is well organized and is a huge advantage. The cleanliness of the whole place is just perfect. The room is very friendly and comfortable. The very nice thing was a tea/coffee kettle and tea&coffee available in the room during the whole stay (for free of course). Unfortunately the staff doesn't match the place and is mostly not very friendly. On the day of our arrival we went to eat the diner and the waiter in the restaurant was very rude (he decided to bring us something to drink after 15 mins, then threw the drink on the table, didn't say I'm sorry and went away), the information we got at the reception desk was mostly incompetent what was very confusing
The staff were wonderful: friendly, helpful; made the stay very nice. The driveway was a little confusing.
The environment in High Tatras is amazing, we had also a great view on the mountains from our balcony! We also liked he lady at the reception, she is very nice and friendly :)
A pension with excellent location, comfortable nice design rooms, good restaurant and a very possitive and helpful manager. You can find nearby a lot cheeper places to stay, but being at Pension Zampa, you'll have no question for what you have paid.
Pension Tatrasport is family run. Very clean and spacious and the members of the family we dealt with were very helpful. No complaints
