Overview Reviews
Located in Vedra, Pazo De Galegos is a 3-minute drive from Pazo de Santa Cruz de Rivadulla and 7 minutes from Pazo de Oca. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The innkeeper was very knowledgable and was happy to share about his winery and the surrounding area. The rooms were wonderful. We had dinner one night there too which was tasty and a good value. Paying the extra 10 euros for the upgraded room was worth it.
Cons: We would have liked to have a fridge and coffee in the room. There was no air conditioning so on a hot day, it might be a little warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely beautiful. The house is gorgeous. Manuel was an exceptional host, the food and wine were excellent. Most beautiful white and red wine I have tasted. Unfortunately it does not come to Australia, only USA.
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: The property is located off the one of the main roads about 3/4 up the big hill. This is worth noting if you are doing the camino because if you follow the marked route you will end climbing steeply all the way up and then walking down for about a kilometre. It is better to keep walking along the road and it will bring you straight to the hotel. (This is less safe of course.) The hotel is located in the old mansion house beautifully renovated following the old style. The plumbing was good and the beds were rather comfortable if a bit on the smaller size for my liking. The breakfast was good and the dinner was offered as an extra. There are no many chances to have any food in the close vicinity. The menu for dinner was a bit limited in choice and a tad overpriced for the home cooked meal. But it was fresh, and hot and served timely - all you need after walking for 40km.
Cons: The hotel did not offer triple rooms so taking 2 rooms for a family of three turned to be much more expensive. And there was no singly occupancy discount. I don't think that the hotel was very well signposted. We had to ask for directions several times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Immensely helpful host who is a mine of information about the area and the history of the house, which is a period piece lovingly restored with classy antique furniture. Manuel has total command of the english language having spent years in the london area in hospitality. The cook serves a superb evening meal with authentic local cuisine, and a formidable breakfast - 5 star all round. The rooms are full of character and the setting is lovely in the midst of the owner's vineyards. The wine is top class - best albarino I have ever had! Top drawer value for money. Wonderful stop before the last leg of the camino into Santiago. Would have loved to stay longer! I will be going back. My advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, extremely helpful and kind owner who made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Good food, excellent breakfast. Lovely wine produced by owners vineyard.

Pros: Beautiful old winery converted to lodgings in the Spanish style. Large grounds filled with fruit trees and vines. Just lovely! Plus a sumptuous breakfast spread with fresh-squeezed orange juice, jamon y queso, freshly fried egg, cake, fruit and yogurt, coffee&tea. Gracias Wilmer for a great stay!
Cons: Wish we had stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful and marvellous, surrounded by nature and a very calm village. Perfect place to stay near Santiago de Compostela.
Cons: They gave us a room which was too close to the main staircase and hallway and the main wall of the room was of thin wood allowing it to pass all the sound and noise of the hallway making us impossible to sleep when people passed by at early morning and late night, but the rest was very pleasant and wonderful. If we were to go again we will ask for another room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A really beautiful place, with all comfort. The breakfast is a special moment!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Santiago was fully booked (after our Camino walk) so we had to go 7 to 8km out of town but what a blessing it was. The quietness and beautiful grounds. The hosts were just lovely. The rooms for us were perfect and spotless. Breakfast in the morning was divine (6 euros pp). Even though we couldn’t speak Spanish we were able to communicate just fine (thanks google translate and to our friend
Cons: It’s not so much what we didn’t like - just need to be aware they do not do dinners. We had to taxi everywhere so it was an extra cost to us to get dinner. If you have a car that’s no problem. We were recommended a fabulous local restaurant- that was 10/10. FYI taxi to Santiago cost anything from 12 to 18 euro depending if there was a surcharge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice property. Very friendly and helpful owner. Good location.
Cons: Breakfast could have had more options and menu changed if you were there for more than one night.

Pros: Character of the house. Location Cleanliness

Pros: Very friendly owner who spoke excellent English. Peaceful location in the countryside. Very clean and one of the better continental breakfasts, incl. fresh fruit. Owner even teed up one of the local bars for us to watch the French Open Womens final.
Cons: Signposting and address description made it tricky to find initially.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room had very large windows with lovely views and was within walking distance of good restaurants. The coffee in the morning was nice and the staff were friendly.
Cons: The room had a bath with a very large shower over it but it was very difficult to get into and could cause some travellers problems. The building and surrounding gardens were in need of some attention which was a shame because it has the potential of being a great retreat as it offered a well being area which seemed to be the owners main concern and the bed and breakfast a side line. The breakfast was simple, offering prepackaged foods.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was spotless and very comfortable. The man at reception was there to answer all our questions and gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. Breakfast was great.
Cons: The main lounge was slightly tatty but it didn't really matter to us.

Cons: Lack of equipment in the kitchen (there were not many pans, no oven and no microwave). Remote location and we had to drive to go anywhere. Not many activities to do on site. Lack of light and decorations in the studio, which made the room feel a bit uncomfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed, bath.
Cons: Breakfast was good enough, but very standard.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow, what a great spot! Lots of room in bedrooms and living area. Well equipped and checkin super easy and quick. Would highly recommend this property.
Cons: The timer in the light in the shower room should be longer and would be nice if washer and dryer worked, but there is a laundromat a very short distance away so not a huge problem.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable and when we arrived our bags had already been taken to our room for us. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions. A kitchen is available for those who want to prepare their own meals.
Cons: The walls are incredibly thin. At one point I thought something was in our room, but it turned out to be next door plugging something into the wall on their side. We could also hear people in the next room coughing throughout the night as if they were inside our room. The one good local restaurant that we had read about on the reviews is closed on Mondays (the day we were there) which made our meal choice limited to just the albergue next door.

Pros: Great for pedrouzo! Good location.
Cons: Mosquitoes!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Pension was so well signed posted from the start - the intersection coming from Rua. The location was superb and sitting on a beautiful roundabout with a cross in the middle. We were also only a hundred meters from the Church. The highlight, however, was the amazing women who checked us in that was on duty. I am so sorry I forgot your name. Our backpack had not arrived at Pension 23 by the time we arrived and I was starting to panic. Our host was so good (even though we were struggling to communicate with Spanish and English mixed) and she took total charge of the situation phoning our Pension we stayed at in Arzua and the transfer service company. She then knocked on our door around 45 mins later with our backpack by her side. I have learnt that is it definitely the people that make a place memorable and comfortable or not. And our host made our stay superb! Thank you :-)
Cons: Rooms were a little tight for space but not enough to complain about. The furnishings and quality of the shared bathroom made up for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great pension. For the price we paid we had no problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: •Loved this place. It had private rooms with shared restroom. •I felt very safe. I so soundly. Thank you! •It had elevator. I didn’t use but it was wonderful to have it for the tired Camino pilgrim. •Three super clean towels but because •I got used to using sparingly, I didn’t use two. •Lovely white bedding. •The restroom was super clean.
Cons: The shower floor was super slippery. If I were less attentive, I might have hurt myself. Luckily I righted myself just in time. The restroom was super clean.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The clean white bedding
Cons: A kettle and aircon was missing and no communal area to rest.
7.0 Good
Pros: Well kept, clean and comfortable.
Cons: From midnight to 4am, super loud music coming out of one of the rooms belonging to the hotel and the staff did NOTHING. Impossible to sleep.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and building alll new andmodern
Cons: No food at bar until 8pm and very expensive menu. It is difficult to eat anywhere else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is a gem! It proved to be an unexpected "splurge" along the Via de la Plata. After several days on the camino, we were very pleased with this property -- location, amenities, restaurant, and staff. The oversized bathroom and tub were a welcome treat. While not readily obvious, rather convenient to the camino and a great place from which to start the last day's walk to Santiago de Compostela.
Cons: The bedroom was a bit tight to fit with backpacks that had to be unpacked and repacked.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very modern, clean, good restaurant, heating system worked great.
Cons: Nothing much nearby, a few small shops, not much else around.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent along the camino route. Staff super. Rooms were lovely, simple decor dinner very good
Cons: Shower was dirty; not cleaned properly. Single room was very small (but adequate)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We chose it for proximity to the Camino de Santiago. The outside photo doesn't do it justice; it was nice inside with pleasant, bright rooms in modern style. The restaurant was good, with a large patio. A lot of locals in this small town come to eat and drink there, so there's a good atmosphere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are compact and very well laid out with comfortable beds and great bathroom.

Pros: Proprietor is very friendly and nice.

Pros: Clean n very close to Camino track
Cons: Not having my own bathroom. But I knew that when booking. And no bulb in reading light
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people. Cafe downstairs is nice. Basic accommodation- a little overpriced.
5.8 Okay
Cons: I had private room with shared bathroom. There was capacity for 10 people in four rooms, and there was only one bathroom! There were 6 people total when I was there and I had to wait until middle of night to use bathroom. Paper thin walls so difficult to sleep.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was above a bar/restaurant, so it was really easy to get food.
Cons: This place is not “right off” the Camino. We actually missed our turn and ended up walking a mile in the wrong direction. The rooms were quite loud and could hear noises all through the night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Big common room
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice shower, friendly and check in was quick and easy. Spacious room. Large closets.
Cons: Bed mattresses was hard with plastic sheet covering mattress loosely and got lumpy. Floor was squeaky. Doors opening and closing were loud..

Cons: Separation between the room and the bathroom - little privacy (but there was an extra WC downstairs).

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice bed
Cons: Needed a table
4.3 Okay
Pros: 모든시설이 깔끔하고 잘갖춰져 있었다. 창문블라인드도 자동식이어서 굉장히 편하고 방도 넓었다
Cons: I booked a room two days before the stay and separately email the hotel to request a double room instead of a twin room and got an answer from the pension. However when I got there to check in, the staff wrongfully charged me 10 euros more so I pointed it out and got it checked again. Also the room they gave me was a twin room so I said I booked a double room and the staff said the double room is not cleaned yet so I had to wait another 30 minutes. The wall was thinnest ever so I could literally hear every conversation from the next room and so could not sleep until midnight when I had to wake up for 20 kilometers walk. I booked the place to sleep well but didnt have the luck more than a 12 bed dormitory room which would have costed 10 euros.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A short walk to town, the building was very new and the rooms modern
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding! Sonia helped me with my laundry and ordering a sandwich for delivery! She had a friendly smile and was willing to help with anything needed! After a long day on the Camino everything helps!!! I highly recommend this location. The room was clean, it has air conditioning, windows can be closed to block out the light, and the entire location was very clean! Thank you!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our last night on the Camino, before heading into Santiago after walking for 33 days. A Polish man ahead of us in the queue (who like the rest of us was probably tired) was rude and abrupt with Stephanie, the host. She remained very cheerful and professional, despite his rudeness. Her positive attitude continued when she was checking us in and when showing us all the facilities in the Albergue. The Albergue was immaculately clean and has a strict 11pm doors locked policy - great when some are in a party mood on their penultimate night on the Camino.
Cons: No meal offered, but it has kitchen facilities
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Greeting of staff was excellent. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice lounge area. Good showers with plenty of hot water. Central location.
Cons: Was a bit noisy. Some of the guests didn’t respect the space.

Pros: The receptionist Fanny is a real asset to the albergue. She is warm, friendly and has a great sense of humour! She explained the facilities, and provided great recommendations for where to eat! The hydro-jet shower was just what i needed at this stage of the camino...!!!

5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: It was old and tired looking. The bedsheets were thin and worn
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The silence and the kindness of the girls and guy in reception. (Raquel, Bea and young man,l. Sorry l don't remember his name.)
Cons: We were doing the camino and when we were washing our clothes the was machine and driver took too long.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, room very clean, large and comfortable. Towels were the nicest we’ve had on the Camino! The view of the quiet countryside out of our window at the rear of the hotel was very peaceful.
Cons: The receptionist did her best to give us a quiet room since there was no adjoining room, but we still had people above us walking back and forth, moving beds or something heavy, etc. both in the evening and early morning. We could clearly hear people talking in the room across the hall and there was a lot of door slamming, as appears to be the case in most Camino budget hotels. Most of the noise settled down by 10:30 or so and we were able to sleep after that. Other than lack of sound proofing, the hotel is a good option, if a bit far from the Camino.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Greatest shower on Camino.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, on the Camiño route. Close to restaurants, lovely staff. Washing and drying machine in the hotel
Cons: Tiny shower stall
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laundry can be done onsite and lots of restaurants are available. It's super easy to get back on the Camino without backtracking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It seems like they updated their rooms, excellent air-conditioned.
Cons: Not that it's essential but they could get rid-off the curtains and update to a more modern bed-spread, the room itselft looked good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room with air conditioning!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly place. Nice lounge/bar to meet fellow peregrinos. Room, shower both excellent.
Cons: The set menu and house wine at the restaurant were disappointing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The staff was very good and so was the location. Had lunch at Cafe Luis and it was fantastic. Also enjoyed dinner at Cafe Che next door and the complementary breakfast there was good as well.
Cons: It was all good.
