Superb game dishes in restaurant! Price bit too high for a countryside hotel despite it is modern and high quality rebuilding is done. Surprisingly poor breakfast - no porridge, scrambled eggs or something warm except boiled eggs. No juice or water on the breakfast table - you have to ask for it...
I really enjoed visit Latvia and particular Kuldiga. I would prefer tea/coffee facilities in the room (it is really additional suggestion)
Like staff and room, food in restaurant was good
The hotel has been rebuilt tastefully following a fire, in keeping with the village atmosphere, yet the facilities are modern and very comfortable. The staff are friendly, quick to respond to requests and speak English. The food was delicious, well presented and would appeal to local as well as international tastes. We can't wait to come back to Kuldiga.
The location in old town The breakfast is limited
The charm of this old hotel, rather well modernized, in the unique town of Kuldiga
Hotel is on the right location. Interior in the hotel is excellent after renovation. Guest is a king with all human respect. The best memories in summer 2010 trip through East Europe.
Primary benefit is excellent location of the hotel. I hardly find anything else worth of mentioning. Because the level of the comfort essentially corresponded to what one could have expected. Yes, there was. The breakfast content and presentation was next to poor. The interior design of the restaurant is tasteless, obviously, coming straight from the old Soviet times. In the evening, dinner time, if there is a group of dozen people arriving to the restaurant, staff fails to pay attention to every table (it was Friday night, so perhaps, thats not a case during weekdays). The noisy bar on the other block (I have to stress, that this is not part of the hotel) leaves no chance to open the windows in one's room because of the laud music lasting until 3-4 a.m.
Staff was very helpfull. Breakfast was big and great! Good value for money as it was non-expensve but room was spacious enough. Funny combination of ancient manson that has been redecorated in Soviet times. Do not expect anything luxorious, but everything is neat and clean. It seemed that the long coreidors that led to our room need some redecoration and fresh touch.
Nice and friendly lady at the reception, can speak english. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We had the room with very nice and romantic balcony. Wallet-friendly price. Location a little bit difficult to find and the surrounding not so beautiful as the hotel itself.
The staff, the building and breakfast (excellent pancakes)
helpfull, flexible poor internet connection; location a bit far from city centre
The hotel is in a nice setting. It is quiet. The service is very good and very helpful.
They've forgot to prepare breakfast for us for second day. After 30 min - it was done but smaller then in the first day.
This is a nice hotel with various types of rooms. We got a nice wide room with bath and balcony in calm location of outskirts. We had really relaxed at there. The staff is friendly and kindly to help us. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and could catch a bus per hour to the city center in the morning and 15~20min walking distance to the center. In addition, there is one bus in 7 am directly goes to Riga. There is no dark or tick curtain in the room; you should arise with morning glow. There is no shop around there, you should go a supermarket to buy, where is around 10 min walk away.
