Nice quiet hotel. I was treated with my breakfast iny room at no charge, nice! After breakfast I went down to the Spa where I enjoyed the relaxing jacuzzi, steam, and sauna. All included. The water in the bath was adequately warm however not hot and I like a hot bath. Also the towel warmer wasn't working, minor issue.
All excellent: great views, great staff, fantastic food!
The luxe facilities and view is amazing over the douro. True design and spa hotel with very friendly and capable staff. Missing a gym for workout
Room balcony with a wonderful river view. Hotel staff is kind and helpful. Spa & sauna were clean. It was difficult to find the hotel because all sign on road show only words "Hotel". We didn't know if these signs meant this hotel or not until arrival. We booked a table for dinner when we checked in however it didn't make.
the rooms have an amazing view over the river
Hotel design, staff, facilities, and brilliantly relaxed atmosphere. Fairly remote. Difficult if you don't have a car. The walk from the closest train station (Aregos) is 20 mins up a very steep hill. Not nice in the plus 30 degree heat. Though the hotel said they'd send a car if I'd have called. Still, would be worth noting somewhere prior to arriving. Wouldn't put me off going again though!
Great setting, cool design, helpfull staff A gym/exercise room at the hotel would be good.
Mooi ruim opgezet hotel. In etages tegen de berghelling gebouw. Erg gastvrij personeel. Goede keuken.
Large comfortable room and friendly staff.
Attractive location. Great value for money, particularly with the room up-grade. Attentive and polite staff.
Helpfulness & Friendliness of Staff. Food very good. The hairdryer
Beautiful views, very friendly and helpful staff. There were a lot of seating areas in which to relax. The bar staff had good memories and the restaurant was lovely. Great breakfast. Rooms extremely comfortable. Slightly difficult to find
The staff pretty much let you do things your way, and all extremely helpful when needed.
the village, staff, restaurant and service and the room
Beautifully set along the river in the centre of an old town. Very friendly service, good cuisine.
We loved the people who are doing the most they can for their guests enjoyment, the they were very friendly and helpfull .We got great tips for travelling in the area and we want to thank them for that. And the hotel is great' it was the highlight of our trip. that we stayed their only one night
this hotel/chateau is stunning. located in a small town- wine country is a 30 min drive. very peaceful. rooms were very bright and large. great food by the pool. amazing morning breakfast we did the tasting menu at the restaurant - bit old fashioned for our tastes. they are rated- but not the best meal we had. breakfast and pool food were great. staff were very friendly and helpful. a real pleasure for us
Very good service, excellent location
The breakfast included was first class. The room was nicely furnished and clean. I would use the Navarras again and would recommend it to friends. No bad points. It was perfect.
The reception staff were excellent and spoke good English. The breakfast times were extensive. The hotel was well located for a short walk into the town centre..
good buffet style breakfast, value for money lack of parking
well placed to tour porto, doura valley etc
The external appearance was not good being based in a scruffy shopping centre on the edge of the old town. The description of the balcony aspect was not accurate as you could not see the river at all from the balcony which was very scruffy and not worth having.
Friendly helpful staff. Balcony/outside space. Breakfast selection. Proximity to town centre. Lovely fresh orange juice ! Massive long term road works right outside hotel and under our balcony. Dust, noise, some risk. We should have been informed of this prior to arrival. Ambiguous situation regarding car parking which I stressed was very important. This exacerbated by but not because of road works.
The location was central to all the sites in Amarante. You could walk to most everything. The starkness and drabness of the bulding and the dimly lit, chilly breakfast room.
The hotel is very well located, near Sao Goncalo Church and the famous bridge. Very clean, modern rooms, great beds and a fabulous breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Amarante.
Feels dirty. Just waited for the night to be over.
Location very good - close to bus station & town centre. Rooms were a bit dated and dark. Alot of noise from surrounding building works from very early in the morning.
Peace and quiet
convenient location with easy walking access to town. Free reasonably safe parking in street outside. Good breakfast.
Excelent value for money - the rooms, with balcony, and service were adequately comfortable for a few days or a week. The hotel was very close to two good restaurants and also the old town centre and river. Parking proved to be no problem in October. he hotel bar was closed.
Clean rooms. Shower was fine. Desk staff was friendly. Good location. Carpeting was stained and worn down a bit. Slight urine smell in bathroom probably from old pipes. Breakfast was merely fair. TV had no English channels. A little expensive at 60 euros/night.
The location was good. near to the exits of the town. The room and the bathroom was confortable. The reception clark was correct and helpfull The atmosphire was of an emty hotel. only few gests. We we alone most of the breakfasts. No minibar in the room.Th elevastor very poor
Location was very good. Amaranto Restaurant was excellent. Poor lighting in halls, lobby and rooms. Hotel too dark.
Great hotel, but a little far from the town's historic centre. It is in the new part of the town up a very steep hill. Views from balcony rooms good. Staff were helpful.
The hotel has faded considerably since I stayed there 15 years ago. It's a bit dismal. Our room with balcony was comfortable and the breakfast was generous. Good value. The location is close to highways, but the hotel is at first difficult to reach due to one-way streets. There is a fee for parking, but there is no restriction on street parking.
The hotel is very centrally located within easy walking distance of the old bridge.
Within walking distance of Michelin restaurant so quite convenient.
