Sarah Sun Island offers an unforgettable experience for your stay in Venice. Two yachts are available, both of which are docked in a quiet area just 4 Vaporetto (water bus) stops from St. Mark's Square. You can enjoy drinks out on the panoramic bridge and admire views of Venice. Available at extra charge, lagoon cruises are organised twice a week. The Sarah Sun yachts are docked on one side of Sacca Fisola, a small island connected to Giudecca Island. The rooms are set in wooden cabins, each with a private bathroom. Breakfast is served each morning in the dining room or out on the deck.
It was different to the usual hotel stay. The boat was really nice.
The rooms are too small, though comfortable.
Staying on a boat is a nice change to conventional hotels. The hostess Nellie was very friendly and gave us some great tips on places to eat/see. Boat is moored in a great location opposite main island, but is off the tourist trail. Nice breakfast.
A couple of minor hitches re leaking water but we were subsequently moved to another cabin. A little on the expensive side but then again this is Venice and nothing is cheap!
Good for young travellers.
The room is a little bit small, but still comfortable.
Wonderful romantic setting. Gourmet breakfast. Easy to get to Venice by vaporetto and from airport or train station by bus or water taxi to vaporetto stop. Very friendly welcome with English speaking hostess. Concerns promptly attended to. International atmosphere..
The host was very helpful and the light breakfast was pleasant.
The rooms were absolutely tiny (just as well we had neither whip nor cat), the unpleasant damp smell was the reason for the surfeit of air-fresheners, toilet paper could not be flushed, there was no air-conditioning, the small fans offered were ineffective and the power was cut-off in the middle of the night (meaning no use of fans and only emergency lighting).
Wonderful and special location, while still easy to find and easily accessible.Special experience and atmosphere of staying on a boat.Very friendly welcome and assistance.
Unusual place to stay in Venice, very quiet, gentle rocking, not that I needed it to go to sleep, very comfortable, lovely views, excellent breakfast. Nelli and her dog very welcoming.
Not really, bathroom was a tad on the small size, but then it is a boat.
Nelly was brilliant. She really made an effort to help us and make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was really good and I would recommend Sarah Sun (including Nelly) anytime.
I really liked Nelli, the hostess. She was very pleasent and helpful.
The boat never set sail and that would have been something extra special.
The host, Neli, was very welcoming and hospitable. The boat was quirky and a great idea as an alternative form of accommodation. Breakfast was good. Location was fine. Just one very short boat ride and you are in the centre of Venice. Overall we had a great stay.
Even though the boat was only third occupied, we could hear everything outside our room, doors banging and people talking. The rooms are not sound proofed as it suggests on the website and I can imagine with 9 rooms competely full, you may have trouble sleeping, unless you stay out late. We mentioned this to the host as she was very keen to hear how anything could be improved.
