A lovely hotel in a quitessentially French location. The surrounds were absolutely beautiful and village shops and cafes within an easy walk. The Garden Room is a lovely room, however if the weather is warm it can be a little difficult to get comfortable as it only has a little window above the door to open to let any breeze in..... The room does however open onto the garden which is a pleasure to wake up to. I'm sure there would be a fan available for you to use if you felt to uncomfortable.....
the quality of the seafood cooked and served. Staff so well mannered and responsive very small car park - only large enough for three/four cars - we had to keep having to find somewhere to park out in the main street
The rooms were very adequate, with comfortable beds. The extra pillows were greatly appreciated. The setting on the Selune River was extremely pleasant, and the hotel's proximity to Le Mont St. Michel very handy for our stay. The room decor is somewhat tired-looking and in need of updating.
I wish we would have stayed there longer. Great little town with friendly people and fantastic food.
They were very welcoming on arrival and assisted me to get a parking space as dinner guests were due to leave shortly. No complaints
Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent food and wine. Lovely setting beside the river and close to the centre of the town
It's easy to find and they speak a bit of English. There are 3 garden rooms. A bit small, but clean and equipped with big mirror, bath and hairdryer. Location is excellent if the weather is nice (which was not when we were there). Room smells fustiness and that's why the door is open when you arrive. Taking a shower in the bath is difficult as they don´t have a really shower. The carpet in the bathroom is not the most hygienic floor cover. No English channels on tv.
Very comfortable bed and good soundproofing against street noise (excellent double glazing!) . Could have been noisier if weather had been hot however, as room on front of the hotel
Very pretty little village.
Welcoming staff, clean room
room is clearn, good value for short stay. train could be noise in the morning, if u plan to sleep late.
Staff were friendly
Good convenient free parking. Close to high street for restaurants The shower was tiny and there was no attachment for the shower head in the shower. Road noise outside - cars crossing rail tracks, luckily very few trains.
The restaurant at the main hotel across the road. The food was awesome - beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Great value too. Being close to the station was essential for us (too much luggage and travelling by train) and this fitted the bill perfectly. Nothing .
Quite close to the train station. If the rooms are equipped with hair drier, it would be better.
the hotel was cheap and fantastic, what a cute little town
The restaurant at 1st floor must be one of the best in this small town. Annex, in which we stayed, was old and not very clean. No elevator. Broken shutter. Main building (just 2 min walk) seemed nicely renovated.
Friendly, mature staff. General level of cleanliness. Convenient location.
Transportation connections are ideal. This hotel is right next to the train station and the bus stop for bus route #6 to Mont St Michel. We picked this hotel for that reason, and the bus connection worked very well. This hotel does not have wi-fi but the staff allowed us to use the wi-fi in the lounge of its sister hotel across the road. Very nice people.
The overall impression was good, and the location to Mont Saint Michel is convenience. No. of staff is too few in the hotel.
I was very please for the location Mt St-Michel was neer. Aloso the price and service very satisfying Thank you
Comfortable clean rooms and close to Le Mont St Michel
We liked the friendly welcome and the very comfortable room which was ready for us. We also liked the quiet location and the proximity to a magnificient monument which we could walk and cycle to.
This was an ideal spot to stay for a night on our way back from Brittany. The location was far enough from Mont St Michel to pay a lesser price, but close enough for easy access - long walk along the canal (approx 3 miles) or short drive. We had the family room which had a clean and well fitted bathroom and plenty of space for a family of four.
These were clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful, and one primary staff member speaks excellent English. (This was not an issue for me, since I speak French, but my two colleagues don't.) The restaurant had good, reasonably priced food for both supper and breakfast. The hotel's proximity to Mont-Saint-Michel is excellent. For travelers on a budget, this was a good choice for visiting the famous island.
There was someone snorign in the next room and I was kept awake most of the night. My room was near the toilets for the restaurant so quite noisy
staff were very helpful to all geust's of four nationality's during our short stay. The room was clean and fresh. The meal in the restaurant was very good, but please use menu's not the blackboard. A little more effort at breakfast would help. Overall we were very satisfied. Many thanks...
it was better if i can rent a bike
Great location to visit Mont Saint Michele. Beautiful view and nice town. Breakfast bar was good, but not included in the price.
Very nice breakfast, kind people, personal threatment.
Staff were welcoming and friendly we were a bit late for breakfast but it was still waiting. The menu tourist was excellent value and potrayed the region. There were none.
Nice clean hotel with good restaurant and helpful staff. None
Friendly staff, calm and charming atmosphere, nice location - countryside not far from Mont St. Michel, private parking, nice restaurant. Unreliable Internet connection. Hard to find when using standard postal address as an input to GPS system.
An excellent place. It is very convenient for those who intend to visit Mont Saint Michel. The personal is very friendly and professional should be awarded for the commitment and dedication. One should emphasize the food which is"...food great food!" apres Balzac. We recommend this place as the best choice in the region. A young couple from Athens
Location and price were very good. Staff was pleasant and the room was very clean.
It was situated close to a very beautiful site. the accomodation within the hotel was comfortable indeed and I would come back again the room rate was moderated. I would come back.
The room was nice and the right size for two person All was well, the bed was very bad !!! not comfortable at all, the service was very little
Lovely relaxing hotel, child-friendly and good clean rooms. Le bien nouriture, aussi! None
Very good location for Mont St Michelle, quiet and nice staff
Its very pleasant, quiet location alongside the river in a village setting. The size of the hotel gave a homely, informal feeling conducive to relaxation. The room for breakfast had a very pleasing outlook over the river. Nothing really. One had to go out for an evening meal which is an observation rather than criticism.
Pleasant view of the hotel matching well with its surrounding I liked the best nothing in particular
It was extremely clean and well maintained in a very quiet atmosphere. Breakfast was also very good. Staff very receptive.
location and city as a whole, the mill is charming
Good location. Convenient to Mont St. Michel.
We found the it had a wonderful atmosphere and very helpful staff and reasonably priced Happy with everything.
Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings, good location room small and a bit smelly, needed a good airing.
The breakfast was a pleasent surprise!
very helpful staff. quiet. good value for money.
cosy , good food & friendly no lift ,disability i have left me breathless.no english spoken at hotel.
The food at the restaurant was very good. The husband and wife owners were very nice and helpful.
Very friendly staff. Helpful with luggage. Dinner service excellent.
The bathroom was a little small.
In a good position for a night's stay en route and for visiting Mont St Michel. Efficient service, Food O.K. Not the place to stay if you want tip top up to date decor. The lay out of the bedroom was rather cramped, due to its size and having an extra bed.
not very much at all The available facilities were poor as was the cleanliness
Pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming
Good location in between Normandy and Brittany, half an hour from Le Mont St Michel. Beds very comfortable, excellent food served in the restaurant, owners very friendly/helpful. A very 'French' hotel. A little road noise early in the morning but otherwise excellent.
Good family run hotel, we were made welcome Poor breakfast - even by french standards!
reasonably easy access for ports. food excellent
Nice dinner, great value
A Very Good Breakfast is Served. Bed Propped Up on Bricks
Very close to Le Mont St. Michel Very difficult to find this hotel in spite of using a GPS. The coordinates aren't exact. There is a road D-43 and lack home number.
Helpful staff and spoke English if needed. Easy to get to and findNo englis No English chanells on TV.
Bikes available for hotel guests. Good breakfast with fresh fruits. Friendly staff WC in corridor, a bit overprized
Hosts wree charming and very helpful, location excellent, room quiet overpriced by comparison and room condition quite poor although adequate
Friendly people, good location. Pretty dated decor, but clean and had everything we needed.
A lovely hotel just 10 minutes with a bike from Le Mont-Saint-Michel and they even lend you the bike! Also lots of free parking space. There are no elevators and apparently not all rooms have en suite bathroom (but ours did fortunately)
The very special "room" on the pasture, that's really great! It'd be great if wi-fi can be available in rooms
Lovely room. Pretty close to Mont St. Michel and very convenient to many restaurants. Very special experinece, 4 person living in this lovely room.
The owner was friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgable about the area and its attractions, particularly the fabulous Mont St. Michel.
Room was spotless and easy access to excellent restaurant - I think it was called restaurant de la gallette - within walking distance. Very quaint, no frills place. Feet got a bit wet walking from the grassy parking area to and from the hotel itself - but not a big deal.
we love to stay in this hotel, the room has special design, friendly owner, big garden with many trees & beautiful flowers, apple tree and pear tree with apple and pear during our stay period; We had apple and pear for breafast, resonable breafast set price; Many choice of bicycle and they are free to use; Nature enviornment feeling. In gerenal, we love this hotel, highly recommend the air circulation is not so good in the bathroom, but still acceptable compare to many other hotels; internet access only in the main buliding, no internet in the rooms
--- no wc inside rooms
Rooms were comfortable and clean.Food was good. Some staff were not very friendly or helpful.
I liked that this was a French family oriented hotel with a nice breakfast selection. Because the hotel is in the countryside the convienence of having a dinner restuarant was good.
the pool no tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Nothing Mont saint Michel sight is at 15km distance and not 12km as it is specified in this hotel description.
Use of pool & excellent restaurant. Particularly impressed by family room - kids loved being 'upstairs'. Buffet style breakfast for 10 euro seemed a little expensive. Coffee/tea facility in room would have been good.
Our French was limited so it was helpful having someone who could talk to us in English! We used the hotel as an overnight stopover from Le Havre so its location was good as we felt we had made some progress towards our destination of Brittany. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast the following morning catered for all tastes.
Iit was very good money for value for one night, the heating was one before we arrived so it was very pleasant to enter to the warm place. Clean and simple.
A very good meal.
lady at front desk very nice; beautiful gardens throughout area room small
What we liked best? The gorgeous site, the splendid chateau, the amazing hosts, the lovely rooms, the peaceful views, the scrumptuous breakfast, the friendly cats..No, we can't narrow it down to a single 'best'; this lodging will MAKE your trip! Not one thing.
The location for the area we were visiting and the friendliness of the manager when we arrived and had any queries
Staff spoke good English and were very accommodating with all requests.
Great costumer service and advice Bed a bit uncomfortable
Very attractive building well situated in a cute town (Pontorson). Lots of space in the room. Staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was in a lovely room and the food was great.
Consideration of the hotel staff; especially the arrangement for our late arrival due to transportation problems. Lack of a lift to the floor where our room was located. We are in our 70s and it was difficult to move our luggage to the room when checking in and back down to the lift when checking out.
Beautiful and historic, friendly staff No restaurant even though it had been recommended in the Lonely Planet guidebook and was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel
The wifi! The hotel was very old and lovely but modern where it needed to be. Our stay was very nice.
This historic hotel is lovely and we only have two small complaints.... The pigeons were quite noisy all night and there was no air conditioning to cool the room after a 30 degree day.
Very helpful and frienfdly staff. Restaurant food was excellent quality.
The hotel is well located if your travels require an overnight close to Mont St Michel. The hotel is walkable from the train station where buses can take you to Mont St Michel. Hotel staff was kind and helpful with our logistics. The room we had was somewhat cramped but ok for a short stay.
Don't eat at the hotel, the Italian restaurant round the corner is amazing and much cheaper!!
We arrived late, but after a phone call to the hotel, they agreed to stay late. While they appeared unpleasant during the phone call, upon arrival, they were very friendly and accommodating. There is a 8:00pm latest check-in which we did not notice until 8:30 and 200 kms away. They agreed to stay but was a little difficult. Our fault really for not noticing the last check-in time.
The owner was very friendly. Close to St.Michel. The room we stayed was for triple, but bit small. The bathtub with no shower curtain is uncomfortable.
Friendly staff. No restaurant
Room was clean except for toilet (it was filthy). Close to shops. Room was overlooking train tracks but very quiet (Host said there was a train strike and no trains). It was not '5 mins' from Saint Mont Michel as advertised. The Mont is 8km away - about 10-15 min. drive on narrow road. We thought from the ad 'only 1 room left' in the category that there would be people around but the hotel was deserted.
The room (for me room/bathroom/toilet quality is of utmost importance when selecting a hotel) - it was way better than what i had expected! n/a
Price was kind of cheep compared with the other hotels near Mont St-Michel. It's soundproofing was so poor that we couldn't sleep with terrible noses from upstairs. Many group tourists arrived late at night and their noise of steps, using showers, even flushing the toilet bothered us so much. We complained about that next morning. The owner said there would be nobody over us that day, so we decided not to cancel another night. But unfortunately, we were bothered by the noise from downstairs again which was helpless. The corridor was always full of bad smell (maybe sewage?) which was uncomfortable. It's kind of small family run hotel so we expected warm friendly atmosphere but Hotel staff was not friendly with no smile. One lady didn't say even hello when we happened to see in the garden.
large family room difficult to find even with GPS
