The welcome from the staff was wonderful. None
Very nice breakfast buffet, if a little pricey. Helpful staff. Easy check-in and check-out. I'm sensitive to perfumes and their cleaning chemicals were a little heavy in that area - but I think this wouldn't bother most people.
A perfect stop-off point. Clean and modern, free wi-fi was a big plus for us. Good private off-street parking.
Excellent service, very good location, very good value for money, rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. We recommend it warmly
We liked the fact that the hotel was central and that parking was available at a very reasonable cost immediately opposite the hotel. We arrived early and were immediately allocated a room. Nothing
location, comfort, and nice staff price of petit dejeuner
choice of restaurants nearby. secure parking. not having tea / coffee facilities in the room.
good value, comfortable and lovely view of city
Nice modern clean room The room in Tour in france was too hot and we couldnt open the window very far. When we did it was incredibly noisy. The girl on reception was sharp, abrupt and I didn't like her tone when I asked to see the room first. She treated me as if I was a nuisance..
The service given by the staff was excellent. The selection at breakfast was very good. No comments.
It was clean and the staff we kind and helpful.
Beautiful chateau and grounds. Toilet seat in our room needs replaced badly. Reservation was quoted at 85 Euros, but they charged 98 Euros. Continental breakfast on their flyer in the room was supposed to be 8 Euros and they charged 14 Euros each. We never noticed until after the checkout.
Helpful reception staff Nice room 12pm Check out! no tea or coffee making facilities (but that's expected in France!)
Nice & quiet location, staff were very friendly, setting was lovely. Although the food was very, very good, it was expensive in comparison to the room rates.
The outdoor pool was excellent and the Châteaux was a very interesting and looked very dramatic. The position was good, near to Perigueux town centre The room (no. 6) was a budget room and lacked facilities, there were no 'Chateaux' features in the room. The carpets were dirty, wallpaper was hanging off, there was no fixed shower, there was no tea/coffee making facilities and the breakfast was a poor buffet .
Most staff spoke some English. Lovely terrace and pool. Good breakfast. We stayed in a luxury room in the castle bit (which was very small for a castle) and although the bathroom was large there was no shower - just a bath with hose attachment but nowhere to attach it to the wall. Room had very high ceilings which made it a bit cold looking - not very cosy. The waiting staff were almost too attentive - felt like they were watching you all the time. The gourmet food was not to my liking - black olive sorbet and pigeon legs just didn't do it for me. The bread and butter was very nice though.....
ambience, decor and food made for a memorable stay
Great looking place, pool and tennis open to Orangerie residents. None.
firendly and relaxed
the staff were very helpful Advertised was the use of the internet and I had to go behind the reception to use it as there was none available anywhere. Also we were told that breakfast had finished and we had to ask before recieving any, it was only 8:30.
At the end of our holliday our stay was was a surprise for my wife the perfect French experience and a lovely memory to take home with us We were treated so well by the staff in the resteraunt and made to feel very special thank you everything was perfect
The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was wonderful. Nothing
We liked everything about the hotel: brilliant friendly staff; lovely food and wine [we had the menu gastronomique]; excellent room; most attractive setting, lovely grounds in an interesting village.
the servis was excellent the room we stayed in would benefit from a bit more illumination inside
I loved everything. The service, friendliness, food, rooms, comfort, pool were all great
Although our room was small it had all the elements and opened on to the lovely garden. We liked the understated luxurious French country house atmosphere - the gourmet restaurant with good wine list and excellent service - the restaurant has only one Michelin star - a gross oversight in our opinion - a second is certainly deserved especially for the tasting menu with wine. The friendly and helpfull staff and general attention to detail in a professional but relaxed way. Although not a budget option no visit to the Dordogne would be complete without at least one night here! We are already planning our next visit! We wouldn't change a thing!
The atmosphere, the gardens, the relationship between the inside (room, lounge) and the outside (garden and courtyard).
The food was wonderful. The staff were very helpful. The hotel and gardens were delightful.
Excellent staff, excellent food, beautiful gardens and rooms
The staff at Le Vieux Logis was incredible! They were SO customer service oriented and met our every need. The little town of Tremolat was very charming. There was nothing we did not like.
The grounds and location of this property are very beautiful. It is a good location to explore the Perigord area. The resteraunt and bistro serve very good food.
The ambience, the attentiveness of the owners, the setting and the unspoilt nature of the business.
the Chateau was refurbished to a very high standard and the furnishings were beautiful. The owners were lovely people. The food was from the local region and a very high quality. Because the owners cared so much about their furnishings, they would not allow drinks in rooms, breakfast in the room, irons and many other standard things that make a stay more comfortable. To that extent, they did not deliver great customer service. I went to recuperate after an operation but no effort was made to make it easy to relax.
Modern hotel, friendly reception. Room very good, with excellent bathroom. 2 basins. Plenty of storage space. Good parking at front of hotel.
the value and the welcome
This hotel is in perigueux on the edge of the dordogne France, there are lots of local restaurants in perigueux. The receptionist did not talk English and our French is very basic, but this was not a problem.
Location, clean hotel
very good position - close to old town - you can reach the city centre on foot in a few minutes. car park available free of charge . nice room , clean and quite big. no problem if you come back late at night. car park quite small , one night we had to leave the car outside
well located (5-10 mins walk from down town) - free parking for guest - free wireless internet - very friendly staff & owner - breakfast is good value for money (7 euros) far better than usual 12-16 euros buffet. - quiet place for a cental hotel location. No doubt that we'll go there again next time we have to pass by Périgueux
Position - quick walk into Perigrueux Parking Breakfast was very easy
Generous sized room. Brand new and very modern shower/WC. Quite (as advertised). Continental breakfast buffet included a more varied choice than I have seen before.
The reception was fast ,friendly and efficient. The parking on-site was important. The breakfasts were adequate. There is incredibly little nearby of great interset to holidaymakers;it's a 20-25 walk to the characterful old town. The value was reasonable.British visitors expect to be able to make a cup of tea in their room and that is very common in British hotels but absent here.We had to bring a kettle,milk,teabags,sugar,spoon,etc.. Please see above comments
It was all very simple and the breakfast was good. THe local brochure about events in the region was out of date - July 2010. Up to date information would be helpful.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the charming receptionist who directed us to our room. The first impression was lasting. The staff, particularly Florence were enchanting and made our stay of 7 nights memorable.
The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very efficient. Lovely pool and grounds but no real view.
Fantastic relaxing hotel, Immaculate service>
La Métairie is a charming hotel in a lovely setting. We enjoyed the small, intimate feeling and welcoming hospitality. The food was fantastic. I booked a twin room and in booking sought assurances that there were indeed two beds in the room. However when we arrived we were given a double room and told that as they were full there was nothing that could be done about it. It was disappointing and out of keeping with the rest of our stay that there was little by way of apology or offer of discount.
Convenient location with a fully operating shower and kettle Poor air conditioning unit, compact rooms, no lift and poor value for money in the restaurant in the evening. On leaving the hotel and retrieving the cases from the floor of the room, the cases were covered in dust !!!
our room No 37 had a fan running on the roof ,which kept us awake most of the night
its allways good to stay at a place you know in adwance what you will get for your money. staff was wery helpful getting an electric heater
We had a lovely stay! All the staff made us feel very welcome and special. We would also like to mention the chef - Jon Luc - the food was delicious!!!! We always stay at the Campanile chain as we travel through France and as far as the staff is concerned this is one of the best!!!! Congratulations.
Handy and convenient
Côte Rivage is the most romantic hotel I have ever visited. It is situated on the Dordogne riverside in a charming small village. The hotel is elegantly decorated and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the nice lady at the reception. She even gave us a little present when we were leaving. In the evening we had a nice meal at the restaurant, and breakfast was also good.
This hotel came up to our expectations. It was clean and I think had recently been refurbished. no pool
Very good room with balcony and view over River Dordogne and hotel in a very peaceful location. Only one menu which we thought was overpriced, so not ideal for our stay of 5 nights. Relatively isolated location meant that a journey was required for variety.
Where to start. Spotlessly clean, very well appointed, central to all the goodies that the region has to offer. The best cuisine for miles at affordable prices, pleasently served and in good ambiance. I would recommend to all and sundry, although the restaurant is not for a young family. Watch out for your hosts, they are a captivating couple, with simlpe English, but a joy to be with and the type you instantly warm to. Sitting right on the river, just outside of Lalinde the location is perfect for easy access to Sarlat, Perigord and Berjerac with all the medival hamlets, towns and villages, the most spectacular caves, landscapes and scenery, chateaus and castles, or just enjoy the finest cuisine you could hope for. Not a long enough stay.
Family run by an absolutely charming couple. They made our stay a delight. The food is excellent too. The village has few amenities. There is nowhere else on foot to eat or drink. Not a problem for a short stay as eating in is a must!
