Pros: Eric and Prune are the perfect hosts. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal with them and their two children. The accommodation is small but very comfortable with a lovely view of the garden and it is unbelievably quiet. Eric and Prune speak very good English. The B&B is extremely good value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eric was the perfect host! The big garden is the perfect place to chill and relax after 8 hours of driving! The room was very cozy and superclean. The shower and bathroom were perfect and the breakfast rich and delicious. 10/10 is the one and only correct score for this B&B!
Cons: Absolutely nothing bad to say about this wonderful B&B
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very welcoming and the garden is stunning. Charming room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb hosts who speak enough English to make communication easy (if your French is limited like mine). Comfortable beds, really modern decor with large, walk in showers. The kids loved the pool and play equipment in the large garden. The owners have just completed a new, self-catering Gite on site. We had a tour and it’s a stylish mix of Ikea type furnishings with traditional French furniture. Will definitely continue to recommend to friends and will visit again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind host and hostess. We felt very welcome and free to do what we wanted to do. The yard was so neatly kept and offered a beautiful view of the country side. There were multiple games for children (and adults!) like petanque, ping pong and badminton..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eric was a fantastic host! The room perfect for our little family, and the breakfast and garden both brilliant! Can’t recommend enough! We’ll certainly be back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, good shower, nice and clean, plenty of towels. Dinner was very nice and served to our terrace, as was our breakfast. The whole ambience was delightful.
Cons: Never keen on a bed that I can't access from both sides. Slightly damp smell, could do with an extractor fan in the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything went so smoothly. Eric is very friendly and helped everything we need.

Pros: The chateau itself was lovely and the bedroom and bathroom were very big. Great bathroom.
Cons: That breakfast wasn’t included in the price. The chateau is in a rural area and there were no real alternatives for getting breakfast. Also, breakfast was expensive.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent, plentiful and delicious. Amazing bathroom. Huge bedroom.
Cons: Bed could have been bigger and a bit more comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Views over the river Seine are fantastic
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place and family. Very helpful. Needed assistance from local nurse. Owner arranged everything and came to see at the Chateau. The grounds are beautifully kept and given the age of the building it was well maintained and was our perfect first time experience in a Chateau. A credit to the owners. Far exceeded our expectation and very much hope to return.

Pros: Friendly, calm atmosphere, welcoming. Made to feel special. Delightful place to stay, very typical French Château.

Pros: Needs money throwing at it but that said a nice experience
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful house in a lovely location. The staff took a personal interest in making us welcome and looking after our needs.
Cons: We were on the top floor. Access was via a very interesting staircase which might prove to be a challenge for some folk. The hotel plans to install a new access later this year so this issue will hopefully soon be resolved.
6.0 Good
Pros:
Cons: Lovely hotel, but the internet and the hotel info stated the evening meal was 35 Euro, to include 4 wines. We were charged 12 Euro each for the wine and 2 Euro for a sachet of coffee. It was great food, but we left feeling very cheated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This chateau is absolutely marvelous! We were warmly welcomed by the owners who made our stay very pleasant and personal. The rooms are nice and spacious. I can especially recommend you the diners. There’s no need to go out for a meal since this chateau serves amazing 5-course meals. This chateau is highly recommendable for a few days of relaxing vacation!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very hard to find unless you get directions from the host. Strongly recommend telephoning beforehand to get directions. We were not offered breakfast (other than the coffee maker in the room) and there is no restaurant at the site, although there is a very good one quite close (not walking distance). Neither of these constraints was important for us as there is a hypermarket in Bourgueil and a supermarket that is closer. There is the means to cook a simple meal for two in the room, but we simply ate hot at midday while out and bought stuff for breakfast and dinner. When you consider the wonderful viennoiserie, patisserie, bread, charcuterie, cheese, fruit and wine availabe in the region this is scarcely a hardship. In fact it was very pleasant to have these meals "at home" as it were. The guys running the place are friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of the St Nicolas forest is exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and accommodated. Even with our language differences we were able to communicate. Love the "farm-feeling" and the kids enjoyed walking between the horses and chicken. Literally used this as a sleep-over, so wasn't able to make use of all the facilities and/or explore the surroundings. Huge supermarket within 5min drive. Our modernly-decorated family room was very cozy and big enough to accommodate us and our 2x small children - with a very comfy futon and 2x single beds (the bedding was amazing!) Had a great breakfast prepared for us by our hosts. A bit weird to share the bathroom with the hosts, but it was do-able and not an issue for us. We just loved the modern decoration and how the old farmhouse has been renovated. Highly recommended!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean place. Fully equipped (though small) kitchen with coffee and tea and all the utensils. Full bath, good heating.
Cons: The location is a bit further from everything. The hosts speak only French. 5 cats all trying to sneak into your door, because they are cold outside
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome. Very attentive hosts. Peaceful location. We booked an evening meal which was superb in terms of both quality and value. Recommended.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decent room with good facilities in a former shed. Good breakfast and huge cups of coffee. Extra: basic swimming pool.
Cons: Unable to use the TV. Rather small bathroom. Access to the bedroom via a ladder. A bit expensive. Noisy roosters!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located in the farm. Unique experience. The host was very helpful and we liked the morning view. The property has all the basic stuff: kitchenette, bath and sleeping.
Cons: The stairs are not comfortable. Had a little bit dust on floor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic welcome and very friendly owner. Fabulous breakfast with homemade jams, fresh coffee and juices. Our children fell in love with all the animals.
7.5 Good
Pros: Owners were very friendly and came to find as very remote and we got lost. The place was clean and very quaint for an overnight stop only.
Cons: Very quaint and different - stairs steep, def no good if you're old. Ceiling very low as in eaves of what looked like a barn conversation. Hand towels no good after a shower. Breakfast was extra but lovely so quite expensive to others we used whereby it was included. Very hospitable though, very remote.
7.0 Good
Pros: The property is in the village in the middle of nowhere with lots of animal, hosts were very friendly and helpfull.
Cons: The nearest restaurant 20 km away, a bed very uncomfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty place, in the middle of fields & woods, everything & everyone here is very peaceful, quiet & of gentle nature. All food fresh, locally produced & organic. We all had a great sleep there. The hosts are very attentive, kind & generous. The farm is paradise for city children! - already missing all the wonderful creatures living on the farm, especially the adorable super cute cats Chanel & Biscuit and the newly born puppies! No TV. You get woken up by roosters & curiously by the neighbours’ dog barking at precisely 8.15am. Christophe & Jean Louis took us back last second when our next hotel we booked refused to accept us outside their check-in hours. Lovely interesting evening of drinking wine & chatting with them, getting first hand experience & knowledge about Loire Valley & France from the authentic source. Just to keep in mind you’ll need a car to reach here.
Cons: Personally liked everything.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious, beautiful chateau. The owners are lovely and very friendly. It is not too big, just right to give you space to walk around. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio with the only sound being the birds tweeting...
Cons: There was an interconnecting door in our room and we could hear every word spoken by the people in the next room.... Could this be sorted??
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable bed, sofa. It had all the facilities you need for a self catering stay. It was very peaceful even though it was.nearly full. We received a lovely welcome and assistance to the chateau and our room as well as a guided tour of the facilities. The room came with a welcome basket of basics to make a quick dinner if needed. They thought of everything.
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful french chateau great hostess fairly close to beautiful loire towns and chateaux. Nice and to be able to do your own cooking if you want. Beautiful parkland for walks.Swimming pool. Would recommend for a couple of nights we loved it.
Cons: No airconditoning not sure why french accommodation spend so much on heating when the tourists are not around at that time of year and the hottest time of the year no one spends money on keeping you cool when the windows are open at night there are mosquitos. They had a swimming pool which is lovely but not when your trying to sleep
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just felt like royalty staying at Chateau Jalesnes and the history of the property was tremendous. Lovely welcome by Michael with bubbly Loire wine and grand salon comfy leather sofas. The chateau is very well maintained, very clean and the apartment was so well appointed (Price de Condé), I wish I would have stayed longer. Lovely sunsets over the pool are to die for!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, friendly staff. Open space easy access. Everything,
Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful chateau in the Loire that you get to live in! It's very picturesque and while the halls and common areas feel very traditional and charming the bedrooms are very modern and comfortable. It's self-catered but with the option of breakfast delivered to your room in the morning. The breakfast is probably worth it, but if you are a dab hand at preparing your own morning eggs you're just as well doing a quick supply run to the nearby supermarket. The pool is large and they have a court for playing boules right beside.
Cons: While they recommended a couple of good restaurants and google also informed us some good restaurants were in easy driving distance when I tried to book around lunch time for that night they were full for reservations. Not the hotel's fault at all, but a tip would be booking in your dinners ahead of time if you are visiting in the high summer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! What a great place to spend a couple days. The apartment was spacious, the views are amazing, the pool is perfect, and the staff could not have been more kind and accommodating. An added bonus were the other guests at the place. We spent the mornings exploring the area, the afternoons in the pool, and the evenings enjoying the front lawn with other guests and kids. We certainly will return again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great apartment , not a criticism , but how about selling a selection of wine ? Or having a courtesy Bar in the Lounge , nice if you have arrived after a long trip !
Cons: Great bed , fully equipped for everything you need , great for once to get a good tv selection for us Brit’s ( rather than BBC World News )
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was just like having our own Chateau !
Cons: Hardly a ‘didn’t like’ but it might have been good to have had a bar
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Big swimmingpool of 20m x 8m

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for exploring region Clean and comfortable Food amazing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is outstanding, both for the food and the service. Worth making the journey to this hidden gem.
Cons: The beds are a big low and some days there is no one greet guests... but small issues for such a wonderful stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: This was a great little place that did exactly what it said on the tin. (In the advert.) Rooms were clean and well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. It is out in the country so there was nothing else around and you need your own transport to get here. It was brilliant though as I was over for an event at a very busy time of the year and there was little or no accommodation anywhere closer. Sat nav took me straight here. So easy to find. Restaurant was closed at the time but I was told that at the time of booking. So no problem. Breakfast was offered in the morning but I didn't take up the offer. The lady at reception on departure was cheerful and helpful.
Cons: I was informed by email (in French) after booking that I would have to ring up to to get a passcode to gain access to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel to find no one there was a little unnerving. If I had no signal or my phone was out of charge there would have been no way to get access to the property. I could also have been a little lost in understanding what to do to get the passcode without google translate but that is my problem for not understanding French. To be helpful to foreign visitors instructions for getting the passcode could be sent in English as well as French as this is unusual and critical information. Furthermore with no one at the hotel on arrival or overnight it would be helpful to have a few more facilities in the room for instance a kettle and tea making facilities as is common in most bed and breakfast or hotels in the uk. It would also be helpful to have access in the building to a phone to speak to someone if I had a a problem which I didn't.
7.0 Good
Pros: Quiet hotel in a very quiet location. Hotel opened up especially for us. Modern feel. We didn't eat there so couldn't say what meals were like. As pet owners we are used to be shoved into lodges, dungeons and cellars but actually had a room in the main hotel. This may have been because it was low season and so his occasional bark didn't upset anyone (I hope). Clean and tidy. The only other thing the village boasts is a bread machine, where for a euro you can get a baguette.
Cons: No facilities in the room apart from TV. We arrived on a Sunday night and so the restaurant was closed. There is NOTHING in the village and with nothing in the room we were grateful we had a bottle of water with us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast was very good the rooms were clean and comfortable, the Food at Dinner was excellent and imaginative. The staff were helpful and friendly
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: The evening meal was fantastic, with a great young server.
Cons: We visited the hotel on one of the hottest days of the year. The room was unbearably hot. Eventually we asked for a fan, which was provided, this moved the hot air round the room. It would have been nice to have been asked whether we wanted one.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. The service is excellent once you have contact with the staff
Cons: There were no members of staff at all in the hotel on arrival, we finally realised that we needed to phone the number on the outside of the building, we were then given a code for the door and our keys for our rooms were on the desk inside. It was disappointing that the restaurant wasn't open that night (Wednesday) as the hotel is in an isolated locality and I know from experience that the restaurant is excellent when it is open.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location. Comfortable and well-appointed room. Good size bed. Good mirrors in bathroom. Friendly staff. Dinner beautifully cooked and well presented.
Cons: Hotel is closed on Sundays. We booked for a Monday night and the hotel was still closed when we arrived at 17.30, with nothing to indicate when it would open. On re-checking our booking it said check-in from 18.00. But a better notice on the door indicating when the hotel will open would be helpful.

Pros: The family were amazing and very welcoming. There stories and knowledge was outstanding. Loved every minute of our stay there.
Cons: Nothing as everything was outstanding
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful owner who assisted us as my wife was quite ill. Stephanie moved us to a more suitable room for my disabled wife and assisted us to locate a doctor who provided a prompt appointment. We shall return in better health.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great to stay in such an old place with character. Got assistance from the staff to book a night elsewhere; faster with the telephone in fluent French than with email.
Cons: Um, the only thing I can think of was that the wifi was only in the common room and it was shut off at night, but that might have been a fluke. And besides, asking for wifi in a chateau is almost too much to ask so having a fast connection down the hall was fine.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: An incredible experience, the chateau felt like it hadn't changed in 250 years! The family were super friendly and could not do enough yo make you feel more welcome.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful owners. Do ask to do the tour of the house. An amazing story
Cons: The chateau is very old and probably lacking in some areas. Room was enormous but a little faded as was the bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay was outstanding. I would recommend a visit to everyone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The stay is a walk in the history. Absolutely interesting and fascinating. The dinner was delicious, the breakfast tasty, the croissants were really really flakey and nice. Take the castle tour!
Cons: As the weather was cold, then it wasn´t easy to warm up the medieval castle. I´m sure it´ll be even more wonderful with a warm weather.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and great hospitality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a fantastic place to stay! Just like going back in time. The chateaux is family owned and run, who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We learnt a lot about the history of the building, got to tour around and stayed in the most fabulous rooms. Most definitely to be recommended.
