9.3 Excellent
Pros: It took me a few days to get a moment to rate this very exceptional place. We are still under the spell and most of all Pascal’s most dedicated hospitality. Having been all over the globe and in very special places indeed Le manoir de Maucartier feels like breathing the air of friendlyness and sophistication. Creativity combined with love for detail and always these little glimpses into a past where peacefulness meant leisure.
Cons: Everything was enjoyable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying in Pascalon. The decor was lovely, the breakfast was delicious and Pascal is a wonderful host. The added bonus of the spacious gardens and animals was a great surprise.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pascal is a brilliant host and excellent chef, our dinner was superb.
Cons: Our bedroom was in the attic on the hottest day of the year!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The furnishings were very tasteful Pascal was so hospitable and couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful, we were extremely well received. The breakfast really the best part. Everything was freshly and deliriously prepared. I was an amazing experience.
Cons: I have absolutely nothing negative to say, everything was perfect.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Pascal was the perfect host, cheerful, friendly and very very accommodating. He could not have done more for us during our 4 day stay. Meals were excellent (breakfast and one dinner) The owner was not as friendly - but Pascal did make up for it. We loved him
Cons: steep stairs to the bedrooms on 2nd floor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host, food, gardens and room all superb
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pascal has an eye for detail. He is warm and open. An artist in hospitality, who truly knows how to make a guest feel comfortable and welcomed into his sumptuous manoir. Our "family room" was an entire house which could have been set up for a stylish, home magazine's photo shoot. Let me not forget to mention the extra large, claw foot tub with seemingly endless hot water. The property that this gracious estate is set upon, is a painters dream. We had plans to visit castle after castle but had a difficult time leaving to sight see. It was breathtakingly perfect. Take time to stroll about the gardens, ponds, gazebos, the sweet micro farm as well as the properties other buildings & former stables. Breakfast in the mornings was an event which included fresh baked (that morning) croissants, home made yogurt, with Pascals own jams. I recommend the soft boiled eyes. Classical music, candle light and coffee, in adorable large bowls instead of cups, were evidence of Pascals flare for the dramatic and attention to detail. Pascal's sweet little dog Louisette, kept a piece of my heart. For some reason my photos won't load into this review. It's a shame because I have some stunning shots.
Cons: Only the smallest of complaint to make was that the stove was not hooked up for cooking in the room. It also, since it was billed as a kitchen equipped room, could have had few dishes (which I was able to get from Pascal's kitchen when asked for, elegantly delivered on gold embossed trays and maybe a trash bin.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful yard, confortabal room, substantial breakfast, and thoughtful host. Everything is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, perfect ambiance, host, garden, rooms, food. It's like a place taken from a fairytale! Heaven on Earth !
Cons: Nothing not to like in this perfect place

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Homey atmosphere Simple but very lovely breakfast Foosball in the common room Very quiet
Cons: Nothing :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was met by Nathalie and the check-in process and welcome to the hotel is seamless. This is really a very nice boutique hotel. Nathalie has gone to a great deal of effort into making the place what it is. The attention to detail that she has put in is second to none! The room was perfect, the bed is comfortable and there is a flat screen TV. The ensuite bathroom/toilet was perfect. The décor throughout this hotel is idyllic. Everything feels clean and well maintained. The room was a little tight on space but actually sufficient for me. I was traveling alone. Maybe other rooms are slightly larger. Breakfast is entirely substantial. A very nice selection including orange juice, fresh fruits nuts and various breads and jams with endless coffee. All laid out with incredible detail in a really nice bright breakfast room. I like an egg for breakfast, maybe Nathalie might consider offering one for future guests. I think there is limited parking at the hotel, but there is also plenty of free parking on the adjacent street with not a long walk to the hotel. Location-wise, I walked into Tours. About a 30 minute fast paced walk for me but that helped with my step-count! Maybe a bit far for some with youngsters. There is a bus rout (number 10 I think) and a train station very nearby. Tours is beautiful and will be worth the visit no matter how long your stay will be. Advise you don't drive into Tours.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like about this hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome from Nathalie, who checked beforehand when we would arrive. Close to the railway station for an early start in the morning.
Cons: Nowhere to eat close by, but it was easy to get a bus or train into Tours where there was lots of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were looking for a hotel close to the St. Pierre des Corps train station. We always like to stay in interesting places, as opposed to generic hotel--and this was entirely charming.
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location to visit Tours, Le Skippy restaurant located across road from B&B was perfect, nice food, very helpful staff. B&B interiors were 'Works of Art', host very welcoming.
Cons: Unfortunately, we felt the continental breakfast was a little limited, although presentation was amazing, warm toast/ Croissants as an option would have been a good choice, plus a selection of fruit not a chosen choice of one particular fruit. Plus, maybe an option of eggs on toast. But I guess this will all depend on demand! Just a thought! Still enjoyed our stay and would return regardless of breakfast option.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: what a fantastic place décor staff helpfulness top marks

Pros: No milk for tea or coffee, breakfast was plonked on the table, only hard chibbatta nread that was too big for toaster.Orange juice never filled half the glass
Cons: Breakfast was cheap and little no continental cheese or ham

Pros: We were warmly welcomed by Gwen and Xavier. We arrived completely unprepared for our stay but Gwen had lots of great recommendations on places to see and visit nearby, including canoeing under a Château which was definitely a highlight. Our hosts let us have dinner at the bottom of the beautiful garden in the evening which was also great. Our boys loved having a dip in the pool at the end of the day. We would highly recommend this little gem of a b&b.
Cons: Nothing to report, we liked everything!

9.3 Excellent (95 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great reception from hostess Cristina. inside parking. nice room and bathroom facilities. fine B&B in quiet area.
Cons: pity no t.v.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly helpful owners, who were able to offer advise regarding local events, places of interest, restaurants etc. The breakfasts were excellent and Christina varied the choices available. The best cup of tea in France!! The bedroom was tastefully furnished and the bathroom was superb, everything was spotlessly clean.
Cons: The traffic was a little noisy early in the morning but other than that everything was perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated room and very nice host! We arrived late but communicated it in advance and it was not a problem. Safe place for parking a car. We were so happy to find this nice spot!
Cons: Everything was great!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A convenient, comfortable and cosy place to stay easily accessible by car and just thirty minutes walk from Place Plumereau and its many restaurants. You'll get a warm, friendly welcome and enjoyable breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very warm friendly welcome from Christina who was extremely helpful during our 2 night stay. Secure parking. A nice spacious room with a great bathroom and shower. Perfect location within walking distance (about 25 mins) of the Loire river and Tours city.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place to stay outside of Tours just a 5 minutes drive to a great town full of life......................................
10.0 Excellent
Pros: exceeded all my expectations. excellent place for a stopover.
7.5 Good
Pros: • Excellent bathroom and toilet • All area is very clean • Kind and attentive villa’s hostess • Free safe private parking (though there is plenty of free public parking around) • The area around is rather quite • Excellent WiFi speed
Cons: All my remarks below do not represent a criticism but rather my poor initial attention to the description of the available facilities of the “La Tour de Saint-Cyr” at the Booking.com site. • It is just B&B offer, though not a cheap one. • TV is not there (which is not a major problem if you stay there for just couple of days), neither there is a small fridge (which is more important in my view). During the week that we stayed there (22-27 July) the daily temperature was running up to +35°. In our days this simple facility (small fridge) is generally available even in a cheaper places. • Very stylish, but not very practical furnishing. • This accommodation is rather far away from the important attractions in Tours. Walking distance to the regular public transport (tram and bus) is almost 2 kms. • To stay in this place and use it as a base for the tour around Loire Valley Castles one needs to have a car. • This accommodation is still quite fine, but, in my opinion, it is adequate for maximum 1-2 nights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay! The guest room was spotless, spacious (the bathroom was huge!), and appeared to be brand new with a separate entrance. Cristina's house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, but is a short walk (~2km) to historic Tours. Breakfast included a lovely selection of breads, croissants, and pastries with fresh fruit and coffee/tea.
Cons: Honestly, we were thrilled with our stay and the only small inconvenience is that my partner is rather tall and the bed (most beds!) was a bit short given the foot board.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, walking distance to Tours centre. Comfortable and clean and very good continental breakfast with delicious home made madeleines. A beautiful home.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very attentive and very nice
5.5 Okay
Pros: The 2 young women who looked after us during our stay were friendly helpful and attentive Free parking
Cons: We were staying in a superior room which seemed an overstatement of the actual facilities we’re glad we weren’t in a standard room!!! Not really value for money compared to other hotels we’ve stayed in on this holiday that were in the same price range.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, secluded and quiet, only 10 minute walk away from the city centre to get to the bars and restaurants. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Very good value for money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were impressed by professional attitude of the host Pascal, who gave us useful information about Tours and surroundings. We had really appreciated the location (few minute walk to the city centre) and private parking place. Breakfast was generous and delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and team at Castle Fleurie were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. They couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. The owner even chilled my water for me so I could have cool water for the onward journey. On arrival the owner made sure we were provided with a map and guidance over the city and the surrounding area - really helpful!
Cons: The only thing I would prefer is slightly larger bath towels - but, that said the towels we were provided were clean and fresh, so not a problem.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the decor, cleanliness, hospitality. Would highly recommend.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of the owners was outstanding. The room was very clean, nice size and bed was extra firm which we love. Nice breakfast (French style) . The location is convenient for day trips in the Liore valley and is close to Tours (city) if you want to drive into the city for dinner.
Cons: The shower had a very shallow basin and no glass door, so after showering the bathroom floor is very wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: "L'assiette fraicheur" offered in the evening. The excellent personal attention accorded to us as guests
Cons: One very minor complaint. For a property of this high quality, we believe that plastic coffee/tea cups located in the bedroom should be replaced by normal porcelain.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome and although there was no restaurant, the hotel were happy to prepare a nice cold plate with a bottle of wine for us!
Cons: Narrow access road and no restaurant.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, the evening meal of local produce was delicious after some very hot days. The shady and sunny terraces to the front of the hotel, under trees and equipped with some comfortable seating were just perfect. The owners were very welcoming, kind and thoughtful.
Cons: Air conditioning in the bedroom would have been welcome, but perhaps it was exceptionally hot on our second visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A delicious dinner served in living room, with low nice music. The couple made everything perfect. Relaxing stay!.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and garden. The owners are absolutely charming and go the extra step to please their guests
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was not what was expected for the price paid.
Cons: breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Following a long delay thanks to Eurotunnel, we arrived 5 hours late and a bit grumpy. We were welcomed warmly to the Hotel and they provided a delicious plate of Evening side dishes and a bottle of wine on our own private patio. The room was spacious and the bed very very comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful little getaway! great breakfast!

Many local tourist attractions including the Chapelle Saint-Georges and La Rabouilleuse-École de Loire can easily be reached with a short drive. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. When it comes to Rochecorbon hotels, the Hotel les Hautes Roches is highly regarded for its excellent facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views, pool, cave rooms. We arrived in the hottest day in French history and the room was so cool and nice to be in, loved it.
Cons: The bathroom looked a bit old dated.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I needed a room to make a business call at check out time . The staff could not have been more accommodating and printed out material for me and found me a quiet room . Super. All in all though very good including dinner on terrace.
Cons: Having stayed in other Relais and chateaux hotels later (including the St James Bouilliac) the breakfast was extremely average and not up to their usual standards
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is unique in that several rooms were built into rock walls and were beyond compare. It was very beautiful and spacious.
Cons: Breakfast should be more than a continental breakfast in a Relais & Chateaux location or if that is what it is, it should be included in the room price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the magnificent Loire river. We had a very spacious room with a large comfortable bed. The hotel restaurant is a fantastic place to eat with incredible food and excellent service. The hotel staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome - they were exceptional. We only stayed for 2 nights but we will definitely stay again.
Cons: Nothing, everything was wonderful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is inside stone build structure over a cliff. Very cooling effect inside the room and this is a special feature of the hotel. Stayed for a night and we enjoy the beautiful view over the river, staff are very nice and we have a relax stay experience.
Cons: No elevator maybe due to the limitation of the stone house design.. staff helped us move up all the luggages up and down really appreciate their services!!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Living literally inside a cliff near a great river, but with the comfort of a luxury hotel rather than a cave -- it's a very special experience worth trying ;) And the restaurant is not cheap but worth all the money
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked the bedrooms being from a cave. We ate in the restaurant the food was delicious but the waiting staff ignored us
Cons: Service was very slow
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms situated in the caves. They were very spacious, bed was very comfortable and the view amazing
Cons: The breakfast was too poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: food fantastic..dinner service slow..we waited 20 minutes before being given a menu...
Cons: see above
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location ….. and that was all
Cons: Room - 150 steps up and maybe for some romantically built into the cliff - however no thought of air circulation!!! The drains also stunk in the bathroom, Dinner -overpriced and mediocre to say the least I will certainly never be returning for either an overpriced room or a overpriced dinner!
Hôtel Colbert Tours - Tours - Outdoors view
8
9.1 Excellent (190 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel Colbert Tours, you'll be centrally located in Tours, just a 4-minute walk from Tours Cathedral and 8 minutes by foot from Vinci International Convention Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, plum in the middle of town in a pedestrian only street. Short term vehicular access for offloading no problem. All amenities and visitor attractions within easy walking distance. Rated 2-star but our room was more than adequate for a short stopover with interesting decor. No a/c but the room was cool enough even though hot outside. Breakfast pretty good for the price. The owner/manager very helpful. Parking in a nearby underground carpark (400m away) at a heavily subsidised price worked well.
Cons: Nothing really, however, on a practical note, probably not the most suitable for someone with a disability.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic but very comfortable and secure. Personable owner who spoke excellent English. Good location on pedestrian street with many shops and restaurants.
Cons: No parking onsite, and nearby area is quite congested. For older guests, and those with limited mobility, the lack of an elevator could be a problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I and my wife have been here during our Summer 2018 Normandy’s tour. The rate was fair considering the quality of the service. The location is really good in the real center of the town. When we get closer we have to drive through an almost pedestrian area (cars allowed at 20 maximum speed) The private parking is not available but this hotel has a agreement with a big parking lot nearby, thus no really problem for the car The room was really great: I loved it! Nice, big, clean and with a strong worthy. I would definitively suggest this place to any traveler going to Tours
Cons: One single problem: noise during the night. With closed windows no any problem (they can well isolate the room). But we have been here during August and the room was quite hot. During the night was needed to open the window (no air condition) unfortunately in this hotel is a very busy area with many bars, pubs, etc. It was so noisy with people talking, singing, and shouting till late night and also morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Colbert is a very nice hidden treasure as it is recently renovated. It had the perfect location, close to the popular bars and restaurants as well as shopping area. At a short distance of the Loire for a nice morning or evening walk. The owners were very friendly people and were flexible to keep our luggage until the afternoon in a separate storage room. Also the breakfast was good value for money. We'll come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness,breakfast,room and location
Cons: Not a big issue but underground parking is about 400m away but is free and easy to walk to hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful personnel. Clean and cosy room, larger than we expected. Breakfast good compared to french standard !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very modern and beautifully decorated. We even had USB outlets in the room, a very nice touch. The manager was friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast in the garden was a pleasant experience. This family run hotel really takes good care of their guests. I could not have been happier.
Cons: Access to the garden in the evening wasn't allowed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and pleasant accommodation. Really helpful owner. Great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Olivier and his beautiful dogs made our stay more interesting and felt welcome. Totally different hotel experience, very loving and warm. Excellant breakfast and the best location.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we stepped out of our car after travelling 5 hours from Bergerac and were greeted by Frederique and his daughter, we sensed our stay was going to be special. The property is stunning - peaceful, idyllic, full of history and subtly luxurious. Our room was pristine with lovely finishes like cosy bed throws, coffee and tea making facilities, bottles of water and Hugo Boss towels and flannels. We had considered having dinner in Ambroise even though a meal at the property had been previously offered during our correspondence with Frederique. Within five minutes of arriving and seeing our host’s genuine warmth and enthusiasm to make our stay as good as possible we decided to proceed with dinner at Le Moulin with our nearly three year old and we couldn’t have wished for a better meal - simple but delicious home-cooked food, a couple of carafes of local wine and a gorgeous outlook over the lake. Breakfast was gorgeous, complete with homemade jams and the biggest pain au chocolate we’ve ever seen! Thank you to Frederique for being a perfect, sincere and warm host. You made the end of our holiday simply the best.

Pros: Great hospitality from Camel, the guy in charge of everything
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, nice guests... a pity we couldn’t stay longer and enjoy all the facilities. Feels like we were in a real Riad. And it smells just like there!
Cons: It’s a bit far from the center of Tours. You have to take the car to visit the city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed rooms, very friendly and welcoming hosts - literally nothing too much trouble. A very relaxing place to stay, felt like a haven of peace. Hot tub and steam room facilities available at an additional cost. The host made a veritable spread for breakfast for all of our party - totally spoilt for choice and it was yummy :)
Cons: Location was a taxi ride into the centre, not too expensive though - about 9 or 10 euros
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the room was considerably larger than most rooms you'll find in Tours, and access to the property was very convenient. Since it's located very close to the city center, we were able to walk there every night and also didn't have any trouble driving out of the city to go tour the chateaux. I also had to pick up a package from a town about 20 minutes away from Tours which had tried getting delivered unsuccessfully while I wasn't in the property yet, so they called and made sure they held the package at the carrier's facility which was really nice of them.

Pros: I was so pleasantly surprised.. honestly; when I stopped in front of the hotel, I was about to look for another place to stay. But once inside, I felt like a North African King. Like as in a Ryad. Very nice
Cons: have to admit: the location and the parking facilities (although I was very lucky to have found a spot right in front of the door, never left the spot, walked in stead.
7.5 Good
Pros: The decor is gorgeous, just like being in Algeria etc. The bed was comfy. The massage was amazing!
Cons: Location was a little far away from any sights if you didn't have a car. Also breakfast is not always available and dinner never available despite it being advertised on the website and actually in the rooms still!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This guesthouse was a lovely break from the norm. Plenty of free street parking available in this residential area. The staff were wonderful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The element of surprise ( outside not promising)
Cons: Location
6.8 Good
Pros: The room (deluxe double with bath and balcony) was beautifully decorated and spacious, fitting according to the theme. Staff was friendly. It has great potential once the facilities and housekeeping issues are sorted out.
Cons: One side of the balcony door could not open while one side of the window could not lock. The TV didn't work (Netflix promised but TV couldn't even connect once turned on). "Free toiletries" were promised but only one small (20ml?) container of an unlabeled liquid (soap/shampoo?) was provided. There was no air conditioning so our room was stifling hot (a noisy fan was provided). The room and house was not cleaned throughout our 3 nights' stay so rubbish in the kitchen from previous guests and our stay was left full to the brim. Old items were also left in the communal fridge. New linen was possible if we had called the host. The jacuzzi was not included in the price and its charge is 15 euros per person per 30 minutes, but the host needs to be present during use as "things could/do go wrong with it"......

Pros: The breakfasts were excellent. The location was perfect, we spent our three days relaxing and enjoying this wonderful part of this vibrant city. The proprietors went out of their way to accommodate us.
Cons: There were nothing we did not like.
7.0 Good
Pros: In the heart of the city. Lot of restaurant and convenient store.
Cons: Should improve about cleanliness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So central! The staff were friendly & helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location could not be matched with any hotel in Tours - it was right in the middle of the Historic City! A fine hotel; clean, pleasant and with very helpful and friendly staff. The only drawback were the stairs. When you book the hotel, you can go two ways --- the top floor is the best with medieval ceiling beams and a view of a 13th Century building across the street, BUT there are over 50 stairs to get to these rooms. So, ... the lower floors for those who may have trouble with stairs; the top floor for those who like daily exercise or who can handle the stairs.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great central location. Enjoyable breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very well located hotel, with a friendly, helpful staff. The room was very clean and quiet; the cafes on the street are active, but not raucous, and the double windows are very efficient at sealing out noise. When you want it, the air conditioning is very effective. The available breakfast has several options, and good coffee. As I suggest everywhere I stay, a grab bar near the bathtub would be welcomed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was very clean and well presented. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing ... in the medieval part of Tours.
Cons: Liked it all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Step outside into cobblestone streets of the old City
Cons: Parking the car away from the hotel

Cons: Hard beds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming. Traditional French hotel in a wonderful building. Given a free upgrade!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome and excellent dinner with reasonably priced wine - what more do you want? Bonus - the restaurant is open on Monday evening The room was comfortable and atmospheric- the auberge's 5 rooms are in a separate turn of the 20th century house that has been nicely restored. Worth paying for the breakfast in the restaurant.
Cons: Everything was fine - no complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: comfortable; caring; excellent breakfast
Cons: When we arrived - approx. 4.00pm - all of the buildings were shut up, and there were no signs indicating where reception was, or what the situation was. This was rather disappointing and confusing after a long journey. Once madame had arrived - at 5.00pm - everything was fine.

Pros: The building is a typical French House and we had a lovely twin room which we had asked for. It was very comfortable. Only sad that their Restaurant was shut the day we were there (check opening times as it looks wonderful)
Cons: Breakfast is in another building - again as weather was nice it did not matter so much.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent communication beforehand. People were so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Meal was amazing.
Cons: Although breakfast was lovely thought it was a bit pricey

Pros: Excellent loft type accommodation for 5 - comfy beds, air con and wifi. Ease of access from main roads as we were using this as a respite stop en route to the South of France. Beatrice was a lovely host and home made jams accompanied the breakfast.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the property especially the personally prepared continental breakfast, on our second morning the French Egg Toast was to die for. The room was very comfortable and the Wifi excellent, shower good with a great supply of hot water. We managed to communicate with Beatrice well with our school / college French. The location is great for visiting Tours and the Loire Valley. There is a great bistro restaurant about 2km away for dinner where we dined both evenings.
Cons: Whilst the room was comfortable the en-suite bathroom was down steep stairs so for a night time loo visit you had to be careful. Appreciate the weather had been hot but the garden looked as though it need a little TLC
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice house near Tours. THe place is good for Loire-valley adventures. The owners are nice. Has a small but cozy pool.
Cons: The house looks good on the photos, but your room will likely be in the back of the building, or on top of the garage -a bit disappointing. The WIFI in our room was unreliable, worked only in certain places in the house. The breakfast is typical French: bread, jam and orange juice. Good quality and fine, but not for the meat lovers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms and breakfast and owner very friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sadly no croissant just bread brioche etc. Nice jam. Weather not good enough to swim so disappointing.

7.0 Good
Pros: location
Cons: given disabled room, not very clean
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very beautiful and it has a perfect location. The room is beautifully decorated, perfectly illuminated and very comfortable. Good pool and jakuzzi. We stayed in 7 hotels in France during our 12 days journey and this hotel was the best.
Cons: A little bit funny for me, when some guests are enthusiastic about the breakfast... Not only here, in any other French hotels. Probably they do not have any experience about a really good breakfast. Sorry, but I have to tell it honestly: the breakfast choice is usually not wide enough in EVERY French hotels, so here neither. There are never any kind of vegetables: no tomatoes, no peppers, no onions, no cucumbers, nothing! The most annoying thing what I can imagine is scrambled egg what made from powder... This is a fake scrambled egg, what is inedible! I have been 7 different hotels in France during our 12 days journey and everywhere was only this trashy powder scrambIed egg, never from real egg. I could recommend the French hotel managers to look around at some Italian, Spanish or even Polish, Hungarian or Czech hotels and they will see immediately what is a good breakfast like... Ok, the quality of croissant and cheese is good but it is not enough. While these breakfasts are very expensive... I didn't want to hurt anyone, but this is the truth. We weren't happy with the French breakfast either here or elsewhere, but because this is a very high quality hotel, I would have expected a better breakfast... I hope there is no anger :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, wow factor on initial entry and attentive staff on reception.
Cons: Lack of facilities in room, no fridge and poor coffee machine. Pillows were more like small cushions, and very uncomfortable. Large bed was 2 singles pushed together. Room had a balcony, but this overlooked a grim square in the middle of the hotel, along with every other room. Overall, room was over priced. Marketed as an executive room, but much too basic to justify the high price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location- Central Tours
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons: My French could do with some improvement. ;)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: The street is very noisy
7.5 Good
Pros: Helpful staff, great location, fairly quiet street and inhabitants, bathroom was newly renovated and very clean (although only provided small bar of soap and small bottles of shampoo/shower gel - no conditioner or lotion or washcloths provided, which seems common across France).
Cons: The air conditioning promised for the room was a small, personal machine one might have at an office desk- it definitely could not compete with the heat. However, the room did not get too warm and the fan provided was quiet and sufficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were great. helpful and friendly. Location was ideal. town was beautiful. breakfast was fab and plentiful. our host was so friendly and accommodating. loved it!
Cons: it deserves more stars!!
8.0 Excellent

Good restaurant (le Chien Jaune) very near. Restaurant Row a few blocks away. This would be a convenient inexpensive center too visit the chateaux of the Loire. Good Wifi.

6.0 Good
Pros: It is in a very good position near the railway station and the congress center.

Pros: Absolutely stunning house Amazing setting and views Lovely owner who gave us a warm welcome
Cons: NOTHING
6.8 Good
Pros: Beautiful place in lovely area of France.
Cons: When we arrived the hostess greeted us with oh you were lucky to get a room tonight as we have a wedding tomorrow! In other words we are too busy to be bothered with you! We didn't see anyone after initial meeting and did our own thing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, nice view, freindly staff.
Cons: The furniture is somewhat old and used, we would suggest a more thorough clean-up, and checking of accessories. For this price we expedted a bit more.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All the rest. The room, the swimming pool, minimal bureaucracy, cleanliness, the setting
Cons: Breakfast was minimal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful property. It is out in the country a bit, 5 minutes out of Vouvray, 15-20 minutes out of Amboise. The hostess was very nice and personable. She showed us to our room, which was spacious for Europe. Breakfast was OK but nothing to write home about. No eggs or quiche or anything hot, but standard fare of coffee, bread and croissants, butter and jam. The entry was a bit difficult to find. Don't trust Google maps. It will direct you to an unused service entry.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is delicious and the rooms a big and comfy, swimming pool is beautiful and great for a swim after exploring the region.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Swimming pool a good size. Bathroom and bedroom clean.
Cons: Breakfast very poor and lacking imagination: rationed out on a tray, no choice, ultra-ordinary orange juice, one under-ripe piece of fruit per person, some bread, packet butter, jam, mini pastries (which we didn't want but were served anyway). Staff seemed disinterested in us, at both arrival and departure they asked who we were and no one ever asked if things were ok. We stayed during heatwave but no bottled water provided in room or anywhere else. Aircon in room was turned off centrally at night when it was really needed! Noise from an electric drill being used by swimming pool in mid-afternoon when we had hoped to relax there. Grounds did not live up to online photos, rather shabby. Some of the furniture and furnishings in room also had seen better days. Location on quite a busy road not conducive to walking to nearby villages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, beautiful building. Breakfast really good.
Cons: Some difficulty finding a restaurant in the area for an evening meal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms with gorgeous views.
Cons: Pool was not open
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the relaxed environment, countryside of the Loire, beautiful old chateau that's been renovated and modernized but kept old world charm. We liked that it had a heated pool and lounge area. Breakfast was great and the owners were very sweet. Susanne made breakfast early for us on our day of departure. Locywas perfect for touring the châteaux and wineries of the Loire Valley.
Cons: There had been a wedding on Saturday and some of the party stayed over so when we arrived Sunday afternoon we couldn't use the pool area or terrace. It lasted way into the night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Situation and character
Cons: Nothing

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. This establishment has no right to be a hotel and certainly should not be a recommended hotel on Booking.com which has always served me welll in the past
Cons: It was dirty and unwelcoming. It was in a state of disrepair. There was dirty laundry in reception. There were no facilities to obtain refreshments or meals. After a 500 mile drive the last thing I wanted to do was to go out in the car again to rehydrate myself in temperatures soaring above 30 degrees. We didn’t stay and I am really disappointed that she levied the charge even after polite feedback and full explanation of why we the property did not meet our expectations. I wish I had taken the time to read all of the reviews because Iwould have realised that other people had the same experience. So disappointed could have spoliled the end of our holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the property, particularly the authentic and tasteful interior furnishing and decoration.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice & helpful and full of tips on nice restaurants. She was flexible & allowed a late check out.
Cons: Our room was beautiful but the shower (head only not attached to the wall) fell below our expectations. We had booked the hotel on the understanding that they provided bikes but that wasn’t the case and so the location without a bike was too remote.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location to airport was good. Lovely old Chateau and nice and friendly hostess.
Cons: No tea/coffee making facility and no evening meal. Had to drive to Tours for dinner.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was served in a grand, sunlit salon with high ceilings, tall windows, and classical music playing in the background. The food included a generous selection of fresh fruits, breads, pastries and local cheeses. A perfect way to start the day.
Cons: There is no air conditioning so the rooms may become uncomfortable for some guests on hot summer days. Fortunately, it is comfortable for most of the tourist season. The house looks a little run down and it merits a deep restoration, but that being said it has a kind of romantic charm. The grounds are lovely and the pool is a plus in the summer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal touch!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely welcoming and friendly host that goes above and beyond to provide the best experience. Upon our arrival, given the availability she upgraded us to a more spacious room with view on the garden. When we asked if she had alternative milk she even made a trip to the grocery store nearby to get us some soy milk for breakfast. The chateau is part of collection chain of individually owned chateaux and restaurants. Definitely recommend it!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and close enough to Tours to go in and eat there. Hostess very welcoming and provided an excellent map with restaurants marked - very helpful. Gorgeous pool in the grounds.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Location is just perfect! It is close to all main castles (Amboise, Chenonceau, Saumur, Chaumont, Blois, Villandry). I stayed 5 nights! Decoration of the breakfast saloon, bedrooms, facilities in general are amazingly beautiful! Breakfast is very good with different and good options! Bedroom was comfortable. Madame Violaine, owner of the chatêau, made our stay a very special one with her kindness and willingness to help! Visiting the Loire Valley is a must to stay in a Chatêau, and it will be part of an unforgettable trip! Why stay in a regular hotel if you have the chance to experience a different and special stay, and live the life of a royal from the 19th century? And this one is a very good option! I also enjoyed the interaction with nature! Returning to the Loire, I will stay in this Chatêau again!
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The proprietor was very welcoming. And very helpful. Suggested somewhere good to eat. Booked it and gave us directions
Cons: Coffee/tea making facilities in bedroom
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful old Chateau. Made very welcome, got gluten free bread in for hubby especially; and dog made welcome. Lovely walks in the grounds.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: huge garden with pool, old trees and with a lot of time and effort dedicated to arrange everything great breakfast in the old chateau-style salon with high quality large parking space
Cons: very hard to find in a little village. staff quality could be enhanced but as it is more Airbnb style you should not expect too much. sunbeds are rather simple and uncomfortable, does not fit to the style of the whole scenery. some parts in the bathroom needs to be refurbished
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location for us as an overnight stop near the autoroute was perfect. Lovely pool, pretty grounds, comfortable room and good breakfast.
Cons: Only hand held shower attachment from bath taps. I would expect at least a higher placed shower attachment, as we don't do baths in hot weather. Also very disappointed as it described 2 restaurants within close walking distance. I even messaged the chambre d'hôte to check this as after a long drive our absolute requirement re where we stay is that we want to be able to walk to restaurant. Both were shut. We had to make do with some left over fruit from our journey!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the property and the friendliness of the staff. The grounds, especially the collection of trees, were magnificent.
Cons: nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had wonderful time at Manoir de Clairbois - we particularily enjoyed the big garden and the swimming pool. The family room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Very helpful service.

Cons: The entrance was on a crossroad with electric gates very difficult
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this wonderful place! We stayed in the old villa, in a room very big and confortable, with interior decoration courtly and elegant, and old fashion! Every thing was sophisticated in line with the style of the building and with attention to details The park and the swimming pool are amazing! We loved run across the park and then swim in the pool The host is very kind and nice, and prepared us a delicious breakfast in a fantastic room, with wonderful china cups Manoir de Clairbois is a little castle!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel with fantastic gardens. Hostess was most friendly and accommodating- the area is quiet but close to Tours if you have a car. Easy to explore the Châteaus of the Loire from here, and close to the Loire cycle route
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is very beautiful and the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very French in style and served in a magnificent dining room. The swimming pool was a most welcome refreshment after a day travelling in exceptional heat.
Cons: As the property does not serve dinner it was a great disappointment that the local restaurant was not open. We had to travel back to Tours for an evening meal.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Chateau, extensive well kept grounds. Very helpful and accommodating staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Garden, house, swimming pool, Atmosphere, staff, all very good.
Cons: Small things: There need to besomething on the bathroom floor, after showering you step wet on a tile floor. Also provide an extra towel to use after swimming.
