Unfortunately there was actually nothing I liked about my stay. Unfortunately didn't like much at all. Was my last night of a fantastic trip in Switzerland. Stayed here on way home to UK. The people were not friendly and made me feel uncomfortable. The internet wouldn't work. The food was average and the room and facilities quite poor. Not a good value for money hotel at all. Certainly compared to the heaven I experienced in Switzerland!
The food was good, but badly served and with little care. The dining room staff were poor. They forgot our aperitif despite asking 3 times. They used the end of our table to stack everyone elses dirty plates. No a la carte available at dinner. At breakfast they ran out of jam!! No decaff coffee and forgot to serve the orange juice. Nobody cared. I am afraid there was plenty that we didn't like: We never saw the owner: the bedroom was very cramped & dark with low ceilings so we couldn't stand up. My husband could not stand up in the loo! No drawers to unpack into. One side of the bed had no table. The dining room staff were poor - we waited ages for a menu and eventually collected our own. The same with the wine list.
The beds were very comfortable. The village is very quiet which make sleeping and relaxing very easy. We were put in the attic rooms and for anyone above 1m60cm (5ft) their is serious danger of knocking yourself out, and taking a show was dangerous as the bath was placed under the eaves and I was just about able to sit upright. The evening menu prices were incredible, not a single main dish cheaper than 45E, and no other restaurants in the area unless you want Pizza.
Most welcoming at the commencement of the stay and top class service throughout. Food is excellent and there is a huge choice of wines from the cellar.
Dinner was ok. The dining room has some charme And nice views. The licationl is in a nice and has potentials. However, the hotel needs quite a lot of remodelling to be considered as such! Not a good value for the money!
The food in the restaurant was excellent.Service was polite but slow. Reservation to include a big dog. They allocated the smallest room in the hotel. They didnt notice my instruction about the dog ! Also we were told we could not be any later than 8.30pm into the restuarant. We arrived at 8.10pm !!
Dinner was nice. The level of English spoken by the staff (very little) and it was dissatisfactory to have to wait until 8am (along with another couple) to check out on the Saturday morning.
Wonderfully furnished - rooms and public areas; great food; nice staff; great location; private parking - very comfortable Although we tried, our French wasn't good enough for translating the menu. None of the staff on duty either spoke English or admitted to it. The food was great but a voyage of discovery!
Excellent food in the restaurant Very run down bedroom including handle of door that fell off and curtain rail insecurely attached. Bathroom fine but no shower in mine
We have visited the Chateau once before and were very happy with our return visit, we received a superb welcome, ate fantastic food which was delivered with impeccable service, enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere in the pool and as an added bonus were upgraded to a fantastic room. Truly excellent.
Outstanding Hotel in every way. Great food, not extortionate prices. Beautiful grounds, isolated in its own park/farmland. Service superb. Room a good size. What more can one ask. None, however it is isolated, be sure you have good directions to find it especially if it is dark on your arrival. Hotel is well sign-posted from the local roads. 45 mins from main Champagne house areas. Not particularly suitable for children.
Wonderful, would definitly go again very welcoming Once they have completed the renovations it will be outstanding. The garden in front of the pool area needed tidying up. Other than that minor detail it was a wonderful retreat.
Location. No Air Conditioning
The restaurant was fantastic and we also liked the spa and tennis.
Whilst providing lots of "old world" grandeur of the type you would expect from a French Chateau it had fabulous modern touches which sat comfortably side by side. The food was excellent and drinks by the log fire finished off a perfect evening. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and friendly and the attention to detail - even at breakfast - really made a difference making us feel very special. The real stars however were the family of wild boar that we met on our drive through the dark and misty road to the hotel - magical!
The welcome from the staff when we arrived was very friendly. Our room was in the main house on the 2nd floor, very nice and clean. The restaurant was very good, excellent food. Free wifi & a good tennis court. The bath wasn't the best, you couldn't stand up in it properly without catching your head - which was a shame as it was a large bathroom and could be in another position.
welcome ambience and attentativeness were very good as was the breakfast the bathroom was in need of attention the shower cubicle was right on top of basin making it a hazard to go in and out you had to be aware of the low beams in the bedroom all of which was looking tired and dirty
Location, service and friendly staff
Couteous staff, wonderful facilities, amazing restaurant!!
We stayed one night on our cycle tour and really liked the beatiful rooms which have been restored and refurbished to a very high standard. We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast in the excellent restaurant and would have liked to have stayed and explored much longer.
We used this as a stop-over on a return journey so are only able to provide a limited assessment of the Auberge but nothing regarding the locality. It is obvious upon entering through the gates that the Auberge has a charming impressive character. This is confirmed upon being presented to your quality room by the friendly staff. Although the "Value for Money" has been ticked Excellent, we felt that the 10 Euros each for breakfast for high.
