The wifi! The hotel was very old and lovely but modern where it needed to be. Our stay was very nice.
Consideration of the hotel staff; especially the arrangement for our late arrival due to transportation problems. Lack of a lift to the floor where our room was located. We are in our 70s and it was difficult to move our luggage to the room when checking in and back down to the lift when checking out.
The location for the area we were visiting and the friendliness of the manager when we arrived and had any queries
Beautiful and historic, friendly staff No restaurant even though it had been recommended in the Lonely Planet guidebook and was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel
Very attractive building well situated in a cute town (Pontorson). Lots of space in the room. Staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was in a lovely room and the food was great.
The hotel is well located if your travels require an overnight close to Mont St Michel. The hotel is walkable from the train station where buses can take you to Mont St Michel. Hotel staff was kind and helpful with our logistics. The room we had was somewhat cramped but ok for a short stay.
Great costumer service and advice Bed a bit uncomfortable
This historic hotel is lovely and we only have two small complaints.... The pigeons were quite noisy all night and there was no air conditioning to cool the room after a 30 degree day.
Very helpful and frienfdly staff. Restaurant food was excellent quality.
Staff spoke good English and were very accommodating with all requests.
Don't eat at the hotel, the Italian restaurant round the corner is amazing and much cheaper!!
The restaurant at the main hotel across the road. The food was awesome - beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Great value too. Being close to the station was essential for us (too much luggage and travelling by train) and this fitted the bill perfectly. Nothing .
the hotel was cheap and fantastic, what a cute little town
The overall impression was good, and the location to Mont Saint Michel is convenience. No. of staff is too few in the hotel.
room is clearn, good value for short stay. train could be noise in the morning, if u plan to sleep late.
Quite close to the train station. If the rooms are equipped with hair drier, it would be better.
Transportation connections are ideal. This hotel is right next to the train station and the bus stop for bus route #6 to Mont St Michel. We picked this hotel for that reason, and the bus connection worked very well. This hotel does not have wi-fi but the staff allowed us to use the wi-fi in the lounge of its sister hotel across the road. Very nice people.
Good convenient free parking. Close to high street for restaurants The shower was tiny and there was no attachment for the shower head in the shower. Road noise outside - cars crossing rail tracks, luckily very few trains.
The restaurant at 1st floor must be one of the best in this small town. Annex, in which we stayed, was old and not very clean. No elevator. Broken shutter. Main building (just 2 min walk) seemed nicely renovated.
Friendly, mature staff. General level of cleanliness. Convenient location.
Staff were friendly
The room (for me room/bathroom/toilet quality is of utmost importance when selecting a hotel) - it was way better than what i had expected! n/a
large family room difficult to find even with GPS
Room was clean except for toilet (it was filthy). Close to shops. Room was overlooking train tracks but very quiet (Host said there was a train strike and no trains). It was not '5 mins' from Saint Mont Michel as advertised. The Mont is 8km away - about 10-15 min. drive on narrow road. We thought from the ad 'only 1 room left' in the category that there would be people around but the hotel was deserted.
We arrived late, but after a phone call to the hotel, they agreed to stay late. While they appeared unpleasant during the phone call, upon arrival, they were very friendly and accommodating. There is a 8:00pm latest check-in which we did not notice until 8:30 and 200 kms away. They agreed to stay but was a little difficult. Our fault really for not noticing the last check-in time.
Friendly staff. No restaurant
The owner was very friendly. Close to St.Michel. The room we stayed was for triple, but bit small. The bathtub with no shower curtain is uncomfortable.
Price was kind of cheep compared with the other hotels near Mont St-Michel. It's soundproofing was so poor that we couldn't sleep with terrible noses from upstairs. Many group tourists arrived late at night and their noise of steps, using showers, even flushing the toilet bothered us so much. We complained about that next morning. The owner said there would be nobody over us that day, so we decided not to cancel another night. But unfortunately, we were bothered by the noise from downstairs again which was helpless. The corridor was always full of bad smell (maybe sewage?) which was uncomfortable. It's kind of small family run hotel so we expected warm friendly atmosphere but Hotel staff was not friendly with no smile. One lady didn't say even hello when we happened to see in the garden.
A truly fabulous setting and gorgeously restored buildings. The owners are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very at home. The gardens are stunning and the coast is only a short drive away. The chateau has lots of period features and a great breakfast room. As guests you have fairly free roam of the buildings and grounds. Also good for children (our four year old really enjoyed it). Thoroughly recommended.
Very nice staff; lovely dinner: no
We were three persons and were very happy that there were 3 separate beds for us in the room. Tea and coffee facilities in the room was a great bonus and breakfast included was a big plus. The bathroom although very acceptable and clean, the cabin shower was a bit tight.
Nice people - really good value B&B!
Lovely character to the building with fabulous stone spiral staircase, and exposed stone around the windows and chimney. Our family room was spacious with exposed stone, traditional furnitue and a french country feel. It had a second room adjoining with bunk beds in. My daughter loved sleeping in a characterful antique oak "princess" bed. It's a nice, family run, french country hotel in the centre of the village. It was too easy to speak english with the english owners, when I'd booked it for its traditional french charm. The village is very quiet.
Lovely rural location in beautiful french village, arrived alot later than expected but owners kept open the restaurant open for us and made us feel very welcome. And value for money!! No
A nice place to stay when you are close to St. Malo and Le Mont St. Michel. Friendly staff.
Old styled and very clean the building is about 500 Years old and very interesting. I hope they keep the price as low as it is. A perfect value for money.
Only 1/2 hour from Mont St. Michel (beautiful drive in French countryside... Trust your gps!). Free on-street parking right nearby. In town-center of medieval town-on-a-hill, Le Manoir is at center of town, next to the Hotel de Ville. Le Manoir is a 1500s building turned into a b&B. Andrew Neal is a fabulous host, and his wife Vanessa is a very good cook. Building has been updated with modern conveniences, like a private bathroom for each room, with shower stall. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are clean. Dinner and breakfast were lovely (breakfast was included in price of room). Absolutely charming place!!!! Nothing!
nice size rooms great value for families especially as its two rooms and a lovely breakfast.
Lovely welcome, lovely people, nice town, good breakfast, beautiful hotel no
