Clean room, comfy bed and a good breakfast Fair walk into town
Hotel was very clean and the staff were very courteous. It was ideally located near Fougeres. I would have liked outdoor tables and chairs as I always like to relax over a beer after a day's sightseeing
Very new, well designed and well decorated hotel. Not. In a walking distance fron center, but compensated by the installations. No, was all ok
Everything works, it is all designed with the traveller in mind. Clean, comfortable, right temperature, good food, well priced, absolutely a great functional place for one or two nights passing through. Don't expect tourist type facilities such as excursions, but expect first class facilities.
Its a brand new hotel, lovely rooms and is absolutely spotless. Great value and would definitely stay there again.
the rooms were great location was not that great to go to st michel
friendly helpful staff, easy to find because of bright sign outside and central location Had old world charm the room was a little run down - parking was ok but only until 9am
Great location - good to have a family room Need some pictures on the wall -Room 202
Convenience for journey to Cherbourg from SW France
The position to visit places on Brittany.
The location was excellent in what I felt was a traditional French family- run hotel. This is so much nicer than those chain plastic hotels one finds everywhere Our double room was quite small
Floor in hotel was very squeaky which must have annoyed those below. Room was small, but bathroom good.
No tea/coffe making facilities in room
A good value stop off hotel
central location: nice decorative touches in room and hallways: excellent breakfast.
Very helpful and frienfdly staff. Restaurant food was excellent quality.
Great costumer service and advice Bed a bit uncomfortable
The hotel is well located if your travels require an overnight close to Mont St Michel. The hotel is walkable from the train station where buses can take you to Mont St Michel. Hotel staff was kind and helpful with our logistics. The room we had was somewhat cramped but ok for a short stay.
The location for the area we were visiting and the friendliness of the manager when we arrived and had any queries
Staff spoke good English and were very accommodating with all requests.
The wifi! The hotel was very old and lovely but modern where it needed to be. Our stay was very nice.
Don't eat at the hotel, the Italian restaurant round the corner is amazing and much cheaper!!
Consideration of the hotel staff; especially the arrangement for our late arrival due to transportation problems. Lack of a lift to the floor where our room was located. We are in our 70s and it was difficult to move our luggage to the room when checking in and back down to the lift when checking out.
Very attractive building well situated in a cute town (Pontorson). Lots of space in the room. Staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was in a lovely room and the food was great.
This historic hotel is lovely and we only have two small complaints.... The pigeons were quite noisy all night and there was no air conditioning to cool the room after a 30 degree day.
Beautiful and historic, friendly staff No restaurant even though it had been recommended in the Lonely Planet guidebook and was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel
Friendly staff, easy to sit and have a drink either in bar or on terrace.Room reasonable and clean. Restaurant and breakfast good
Excellent hotel; our 3rd stay, hotel recognised previous customers. Good restaurant, quite room, excellent shower room, large off street car park. Happy to return. Excellent nightstop or longer stay.
The room was very nice for the price. There was no internet connection in our room as advertised.
Rooms covered all needs,polite,helpful staff...Breakfast fantastic !!!
The room for 4 people was great - actually 2 double bedrooms together, not just 4 beds. Sheets and blankets - update to duvets!
It was a beautiful hotel in a lovely peaceful French town. Absolutely perfect for a rest after a long day travelling with a baby and a 3 year old. We were made to feel really welcome. Lovely children's playground was a bonus! Will stay again for longer next time.
Value for money - good food and friendly staff. Modern facilities.
Restaurant has a good atmosphere and breakfast is fine. Construction works were going on during our stay
Location. Comfort of room Good breakfast Unfriendliness of staff
The restaurant at the main hotel across the road. The food was awesome - beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Great value too. Being close to the station was essential for us (too much luggage and travelling by train) and this fitted the bill perfectly. Nothing .
Good convenient free parking. Close to high street for restaurants The shower was tiny and there was no attachment for the shower head in the shower. Road noise outside - cars crossing rail tracks, luckily very few trains.
room is clearn, good value for short stay. train could be noise in the morning, if u plan to sleep late.
Staff were friendly
Transportation connections are ideal. This hotel is right next to the train station and the bus stop for bus route #6 to Mont St Michel. We picked this hotel for that reason, and the bus connection worked very well. This hotel does not have wi-fi but the staff allowed us to use the wi-fi in the lounge of its sister hotel across the road. Very nice people.
Friendly, mature staff. General level of cleanliness. Convenient location.
The overall impression was good, and the location to Mont Saint Michel is convenience. No. of staff is too few in the hotel.
the hotel was cheap and fantastic, what a cute little town
The restaurant at 1st floor must be one of the best in this small town. Annex, in which we stayed, was old and not very clean. No elevator. Broken shutter. Main building (just 2 min walk) seemed nicely renovated.
Quite close to the train station. If the rooms are equipped with hair drier, it would be better.
The room (for me room/bathroom/toilet quality is of utmost importance when selecting a hotel) - it was way better than what i had expected! n/a
Room was clean except for toilet (it was filthy). Close to shops. Room was overlooking train tracks but very quiet (Host said there was a train strike and no trains). It was not '5 mins' from Saint Mont Michel as advertised. The Mont is 8km away - about 10-15 min. drive on narrow road. We thought from the ad 'only 1 room left' in the category that there would be people around but the hotel was deserted.
large family room difficult to find even with GPS
Friendly staff. No restaurant
Price was kind of cheep compared with the other hotels near Mont St-Michel. It's soundproofing was so poor that we couldn't sleep with terrible noses from upstairs. Many group tourists arrived late at night and their noise of steps, using showers, even flushing the toilet bothered us so much. We complained about that next morning. The owner said there would be nobody over us that day, so we decided not to cancel another night. But unfortunately, we were bothered by the noise from downstairs again which was helpless. The corridor was always full of bad smell (maybe sewage?) which was uncomfortable. It's kind of small family run hotel so we expected warm friendly atmosphere but Hotel staff was not friendly with no smile. One lady didn't say even hello when we happened to see in the garden.
The owner was very friendly. Close to St.Michel. The room we stayed was for triple, but bit small. The bathtub with no shower curtain is uncomfortable.
We arrived late, but after a phone call to the hotel, they agreed to stay late. While they appeared unpleasant during the phone call, upon arrival, they were very friendly and accommodating. There is a 8:00pm latest check-in which we did not notice until 8:30 and 200 kms away. They agreed to stay but was a little difficult. Our fault really for not noticing the last check-in time.
Lovely location and convenient for the St Malo ferry. The family room was spacious and the hotel were helpful about an extra bed for a third child. The town delightful and we had a great, cheap meal out.
The whole experience, the hotel the restaurant was superb. Nothing
The staff in the dinning room were excellent, the dinner superb. Your two waiters were very helpful and amusing. the bedroom was adequate, the decor a bit 'tired'. We had to wait rather along time for the waliters to take our dinner order as theywere some what busy.
Very nice stuff. Willing to speak English (which is not obvious in France). The view is great with the castle next to the hotel and the village is very nice. The breakfast was expensive but poor (especially compare to other hotels). We went to look and decided not to take it. Also, they are charging for little children (our child is 3 years old). The rooms were clean and very big. However, they need renovation. The rate for these rooms is too high. The restaurant of the hotel has a good service but the food is not good and vary expensive.
This typically French hotel provides excellent value for money. The restaurant provides an exquisite fine dining experience
Pleasant staff. Unsafe stairs. Airless room. Food did not measure up to what was attempted.
The staff were very plesant and very good service The pillows in the room were poor quality
We dined in the Restaurant and found the atmosphere very dull.
Comfort of room, and quality of meals in restaurant Difficulty of accessing and leaving the rear car park
Only one night's stay. Evening meal was excellent, hotel staff very attentive and very conveniently situated. Room was pleasant to stay in. No, but a rather average breakfast for the cost.
The hotel was fairly new. McDonald's and a Chinese restaurant just across the road. English-speaking front desk staff. Quiet. Ample and free parking. Free 15 minutes of Wifi.
Good value for money if you don't mind being stuck a long way from Rennes centre. Hotel is clean, functional and quiet and the staff is very helpful. Just the location....
We were really pleased with our stay at Oceania. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable and pleasant!
The hotel was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfortable. Also several chain restaurants within walking distance, so no need to get back in the car again after a long journey. Buffet breakfast very good. None
Hotel architecture impressive Hotel staff were ineffective in dealing with a major complaint over the booking
Clean and comfortable, very well equipped, efficient and courteous staff. Within easy walking distance of at least three good basic restuarants. No surprises - the website says it all. We have noticed an increasing tendency in many french hotel/auberge websites to exagerate facilities or gloss over deficiencies, this is certainly not the case in Escale Oceania. Well positioned for transit stop for the ports. Surrounding area of this particular hotel lacks character but was perfect for our purpose as transit for cherbourg. We would certainly look at other hotels in the group for a longer stay in an area of historic or touristic interest
Very clean, nice modern hotel, good restaurants near the hotel, good breakfast, helpfull staff, nice environment
Very comfortable, modern and clean hotel. Ideal for stopping off to/from St Malo. Good breakfast included in the price.
the room was first class & the staff
Excellent hotel, although about 20 mins from Rennes City Centre. easy to find in the dark with satnav (hotel well lit up). Parking on site next to hotel. Good rooms with escellent shower facilities. Good continental-type breakfast included in the price. The room size was abit small (for a double/twin).
Very nice staff; lovely dinner: no
A truly fabulous setting and gorgeously restored buildings. The owners are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very at home. The gardens are stunning and the coast is only a short drive away. The chateau has lots of period features and a great breakfast room. As guests you have fairly free roam of the buildings and grounds. Also good for children (our four year old really enjoyed it). Thoroughly recommended.
Have stayed many times going to and from the Channel Islands. Quiet location. Campanile are always changing their menu policy and the current arrangements are not as good as previously.
Inexpensive and easy to get to. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was competent. The restaurant was quite bad, and not inexpensive. Do not eat here.
Very practical for an overnight stop. Room well appointed for the price, staff friendly, food good quality & value.
A very helpful English waitress.
Very comfortable one night stop en route for ferry.
My only requirement was a bed for the night. The room was basic, clean and the bathroom facilities were good. In this respect it was good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful The evening meal was a little disappointing considering this was France. There was plenty of food, the taste was very average - but then I did not book the hotel because of its restaurant, it was also late on a Sunday, nowhere else was open and the meal did fill us up
Very frienndly helpful staff, room was clean & functional. Free wi-fi that was easy to connect to There is no bar in the hotel. There is a restarant the sells drinks and you can sit there only if you are eating, but if you just want to have a drink there is no where to sit except in a little lounge area beside reception
Parking close to the room. Good breakfast. Location close to the exit of the town. Rather simple dinner in the restaurant.
Always reliable as a place to stay, and good stopover point for Channel Islands. One of Campanile's better hotels. Pleasant, quiet location.
An excellent hotel. I was slightly concerned as the room was cheap and it was only 2 stars but I felt that it was excellent value for money, a good clean and spacious room with good facilities and an excellent restaurant attached to the hotel There was nothing that I disliked
