No breakfast but next door you have cafés where you can find all you need at a reasonable price, I recommend “Sésamo”. Even though there are many rooms on each floor, it was relatively quiet, we stayed in a double room facing the back, you can hear the seagulls during daylight and at night some people downstairs but nothing too annoying. The shower was brilliant with a rain shower and hand held shower. There is plenty of room for your own toiletries and if you don’t bother bringing them the hotel offers their toiletries anyway. The towels were big and fluffy. The bed was extremely comfortable, not too soft and not too hard, which is rare, in our experience. The pillows were also the right height, and soft. There are plenty of lighting choices ( you can have just the hall to the room lit up, or the main room light on, or even just the bedside table light on). The wardrobes are big and spacious, and there are hangers available. The decoration was simple and sober, in tones of the Atlantic, blue, cream, light grey, very refreshing. The air conditioning worked very well. The staff understood Portuguese and could speak English.
Even though in our booking we asked for a quiet room, on arrival we were given a room on the 4th floor facing the Main Street which was right next to the lift, it would be noisy with guests commingling and out of the lift and the lift operation noise so we asked for a room change. We got given a room on the 6th floor facing the back, it was not very spacious and unlike other rooms there was no sofa, but we still enjoyed our stay. The wardrobe doors bang quite hard when you close them so you should be careful not to slide them too hard, we heard our neighbors doors banging quite hard in the morning, which wasn’t a problem for us as we were getting up early but it could be annoying otherwise. The hotel has a card in the bathroom informing you that if you wish to help the planet by saving water and detergent you should leave your towels hanging and not on the floor after you’re them, we did just that but the person in charge of cleaning the rooms changed the towels anyway, we had toast in the reception NOT to have the towels changed. A bit of training for their cleaning staffs required. At 15:30 they were still cleaning the rooms on the6th floor and we had to wait for 1/2h before we could go to the room.
