Pros: Good place for a one night stopover on the way south. Good restaurant with interesting local wines. Great waitress from Cumbria!
Cons: Décor is a bit 1970's
Pros: Lovely comfortable room - spotlessly clean and recently refurbished. Very tranquil location. Excellent restaurant serving locally-sourced food. Overall a superb experience- highly recommended
Cons: everything was perfect
Pros: All, flowers, cosy, clean
Cons: Maybe the bed can be improved
Cons: Informing clients that the well rated restaurant is closed on Sunday night and on Monday (the day we arrived). However, the owner recommended us another spot in the vicinity
Pros: Lovely spacious room, beautiful property and surrounding countryside. The property has a unique feel with hand decorated touches and antique furniture.
Cons: Nothing it was just perfect !
Pros: Great hosts nothing too much trouble
Pros: The room was beautifully decorated - Doreen is a very talented artist. The food was delicious, all of the courses included locally sourced ingredients. It doesn't get much better than lamb from the farm up the road and vegetables from the garden. All superbly cooked by Doreen and Geoff. We also really enjoyed Doreen and Geoff's company at breakfast and dinner, they were really good fun and clearly love what they do. Thank you Doreen and Geoff for making us feel so welcome and we hope to see you again in the not too distant future.
Pros: Clean and comfortable, hosts were excellent and food amazing. Would stay again. Lovely evenings chatting away eating and the odd glass of wine! Thank you Geoff and Doreen
Pros: Comfy bed, very clean room, excellent breakfast. Great dinner and wine.
Located in La Chatre, Hôtel du Lion d'Argent et des Tanneries is a 1-minute drive from George Sand and the Black Valley Museum and 5 minutes from George Sand's House. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. This hotel has 3 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Comfy bed. Good location for travelling. Good air conditioning. Quiet room. Good shower.
Cons: Expensive for what was offered. Room was small and was at least 25% more than similar rooms experienced elsewhere in France. Wine and food were expensive. Tired bathroom. Poor shower screen. No air conditioning in the dining room. Reception smelt musty!
Pros: The breakfast on offer was terrinble. We cancelled pur breakfast order.
Cons: The Shower system is terrible. There should be a proper fixed shower head, the curtain leaked water all over the floor.
Pros: Easy to find. Lovely outside space but across the road. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet
Cons: Food a little pricey and very rich. Also wine a bit pricey
Pros: Meals were good, rooms comfortable but small
Cons: Room sound prodding is poor

Pros: Stunning location. Lovely room. Excellent breakfast. Smiley English speaking receptionist. Entertaining golfers to watch !
Cons: Didn’t check out the restaurant so unable to comment
Pros: Fantastic find - great facilities, comfy rooms and amazing view. The kids loved the pool (indoor and out). Only negative was evening menu a little limited for kids so we went to la Châtre for pizza!
Pros: The cleaning lady always had a lovely smile on her face
Cons: The restaurant staff manager was very rude waited 30 mins for our wine and in the end we left M
Pros: Grand location, wonderful view. The room was very nice, but apparently not all rooms are in that good condition...
Cons: The staff hardly speaks any language beside French.
Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and the view is stunning
Cons: The choice and the service in the restaurant is third rate. Cod, chicken or a vegetable wok ( which incidentally turned out to be a common or garden dish) do not consist an acceptable choice for the price demanded. The restaurant was not very busy but the staff were completely inattentive. The receptionist the following morning asked about our stay and when we outlined our disappointment about the restaurant had absolutely nothing further to say.
Pros: excellent location good selection of food
Cons: only the main restaurant was open so no alternative food available other than main restaurant during the day which was in fact a repetition of previous night The downstairs restaurant was closed Also no translation of menu available
Pros: Wonderful landscape, the view from the hotel was amazing. Very nice spa also. I really recommend this hotel!
Cons: The swimming pools were not cleaned properly
Pros: Nice breakfast and very nice view
Cons: Toilet not cleaned enough! The restaurant is well located with a very nice view but the service is VERY BAD (they do not serve the wine) and they don't even know the origin of meat they are serving ! They served us a pineapple for dessert with very small piece of pineapple. THIS IS A SHAME !!!!
