With a stay at Quinta da Florência - Serra da Estrela in Oliveira do Hospital, you'll be 9.6 mi (15.5 km) from Nelas City Hall and 11 mi (17.7 km) from Roman Ruins of Bobadela. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The owners Nusha and Roberto are charming interesting people
Pros: Great for outdoor living and enjoy countryside. Could be good with kids. Nice spot from which to visit places in surrounding countryside.
Cons: The countryside was decimated by wildfires. It is nice to see it is recovering but still quite bare. However this does not need to be negative, it actually opens the horizon and rocky formations. Restaurant-visits needs to be planned, they are not available on first sight!
Pros: Everything was perfect, very comfortable place to stay. Roberto and his wife are excellent hosts. Highly recommend a stay here.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
When you stay at Casa de Baixo - Petit Hotel in Oliveira do Hospital, you'll be 9 minutes by car from Avô River Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The property is well-kept, the hotel is clean an well decorated. The breakfast was very good. This place is great if you want to spent some really quiet days.
Cons: There is not much to see in the area.
Pros: Lovely room and super breakfast. Staff spoke little English but were very helpful.
Cons: Limited food options. Hotel doesn’t serve food in the evening and only one local bar within walking distance. Having said this the bar made us welcome and the food was nice.
Pros: Open swimming pool in the midst of nicely maintained fresh green turf surrounded by nature and traditional farmhouse architecture, with an amazing backdrop of the mountain Serra de Estrela, the hotel has a unique charm in the middle of an unknown village. The roads to arrive to the hotel is scenic and one of the most beautiful in the country. The room is equipped with modern comfort within an historical building, the way a good hotel should be, which deserved to be applauded. As much as i would like to keep the place a well-kept secret, it is highly recommended.
Cons: The toilets lack places to hang wet towels or wet clothes (after swimming). Outdoor air-conditioning units make loud sounds sometimes at night, which are in need of maintenance. Flies in summer could be a big nuisance due to the horse farm setting next door.
Pros: Immaculately clean tidy modern property Excellent breakfast Spectacular location Welcoming and generous hosts
Cons: Having to leave !!
Pros: Beautiful view, great garden and pool. Very confortable room and very dedicated staff. Breakfast with biological fruit and regional products. All amazing!
Cons: Just the road to get there, but definitely worth the experience!
Located in Oliveira do Hospital, Aqua Village Health Resort & Spa is within a 15-minute drive of Catedral das Beiras and Roman Ruins of Bobadela. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very cozy, great staff and great place to relax. The apartments are very clean and spacious. The dinning was very good. The breakfast was amazing.
Cons: The lunch was ok. They should add more pillows to sleep. The one we got was too high for my neck.
Pros: The size of room and amazing shower
Cons: The windows of the room were filthy which created a general feeling that the rooms were not clean. Also room had a bad smell when we walked in. Breakfast lacked healthy options there were a lot of cakes, bread, fruit I sugar but no vegetables, salad or simply cut fruit without added sugar, strange for a health/spa hotel. Gym and swimming facilities very small.
Pros: Wonderful quiet resort, high food quality, excellent service
Cons: - Hooks in the bathroom would be great - More frequent cleaning of the outdoor pools required as insects constantly drop in
Pros: Location is perfect and beautiful. Parking is big. The apartments are just wonderful, functionnal and beautifully decorated. We didn't try the spa, as my daughter refused to leave the exterior pool. It was great, always at the right temperature. Everything was always so clean... Breakfast was perfect... We just LOVED the croissants! We miss it already... Big up for the staff. They are all so kind... we were really happy while we were there and we're looking forward to come back as soon as possible!
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect.
Pros: Spa was excellent - thermal pool was beautiful to swim in. I had an excellent massage! One bedroom suite was spacious and well laid out, we particularly enjoyed our private spa bath on the balcony and snacks on arrival. We had food in the bar one night, I had salmon and my husband had beef, both were cooked to perfection. Great cocktails! A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing trip.
Cons: Some more hangers or a coat rack in the room. Slightly sharper knives in the kitchenette, but that’s literally all I could find fault with.
Pros: SPA and Restaurant
Pros: The location is great a complete escape from the modern world
Cons: The staff tried hard and did a good job but in some events it was a little chaotic they are all very young it would work better with a few older more experienced personal in the mix with the authority to act as they deem appropriate.
Pros: I really liked the road to get there a steep winding road with short turns to a village where there is almost nothing but the hotel. We got an insanely large appartement with a bubble bath on the balcony, there's even a dishwasher in the kitchen.
Cons: The inside pool had a little sulphuric smell and left a black residue on our jewellery.
Pros: We had an amazing time at the hotel. Beautiful nature, calming and relaxed atmosphere. very family friendly.
Cons: Windows were very dirty everyhwere
Pros: Everything about the place is great. Beautiful nature, amazing pools (specially the outside heated pool), good rooms. We had a very enjoyable stay :)
Cons: All good
With a stay at Alva Valley Hotel in Oliveira do Hospital, you'll be 6.5 mi (10.4 km) from School of Technology and Management of Oliveira do Hospital and 6.6 mi (10.6 km) from Roman Ruins of Bobadela. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff were great, the breakfast was good and the rooms had a nice outlook
Cons: We have stayed twice and both times my wife and I have grazed / cut our shins on the corner of the beds, poor design. The fridge wasn't cold
Pros: Brand new.
Pros: As always, a good breakfast, nice rooms, great bathroom. Staff is very friendly and helpful as always. I always enjoy my stays at Alva Valley and would definitely recommend for business or leisure.
Cons: The internet could be a bit more stable and more fast, but it's difficult in Portugal.
Pros: Price and cleanliness
Pros: Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water & a bath
Cons: Restaurant although not belonging to hotel too expensive
Pros: Reception lady was very pleasant, our check in was done within a couple of minutes and the room we were given was super clean, the bed was very comfy, and overall I believe this hotel should not be a 3 star but a 4 star. The restaurant is not run by the hotel, but the new management is amazing and the food to die for. We had dinner there every night and it just kept getting better. The bar is also very pleasant and we enjoyed having a drink after dinner, before returning to our room. There is free WiFi and car parking which is also a bonus.
Cons: Nothing. Considering this is a 3 star hotel, they go over and beyond every expectation you can possibly have. I highly recommend this place.
Pros: Location Clean Architecture/decore
Cons: Breakfast was very simple....
Pros: Evening meals excellent. Comfy bar and dining area. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Rooms quite small but very clean and modern. Breakfast buffet same every day and not very exciting.
Pros: The personnel where very nice and pleasant especial the cleaning lady and the girls from front desk thank you
Cons: They no what should be better for the hotel
Pros: Confortable and in excellent condition (seemed brand new), Friendly staff. Nice restaurant.
Cons: Slow internet and breaking connection constantly. Fair breakfast but with few options.
Pros: I booked a room for my daughter (18 years old) and her friend who were in a quite unconfortable situation, very tired and short of cash money. Sebastião, the manager of the hotel has taken good care of them and I am very grateful. The double room was very confortable and clean and the service provided by Sebastião outstanding. Book this property with confidence!
Pros: Firstly, a fantastic host! Thank you, Sebastião, for your very warm welcome and recommendations. Secondly, this house is a must-stay! Hundred years of history carefully preserved and blended with a modern design. Parking is excellent and just across the street. And breakfast is superb: fresh bread, coffee, orange juice and much more. Our host really made sure we were fed properly before continuing our journey.
Pros: Excellent location new building and nicely decorated. Very friendly and warm staff. Lovely view over the Douro valley about 20mins by car to Pinhao. We will definetly return here!
Cons: No negatives. Somewhat steep but short driveway to the property.
Pros: The place is absolutely AMAZING. Friendly owner, lovely views, everything is new, very cosy , everything super clean. Good breakfast! The best hostel I stayed in Portugal probably.
When you stay at Hotel Rural Quinta da Geia in Oliveira do Hospital, you'll be 9 minutes by car from Avô River Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and express check-in. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The place is really cozy and nice. The breakfasts is very good and the restaurant serves good quality food. The swimming pool must be excellent on warm days.
Cons: The beds were not comfortable, and also the bathroom towels were old.
Pros: Located in a very peaceful place, beautiful landscapes. The spaces inside the hotel perfectly combine the traditional materials of the region with artistic elements like pantings, books, status, and even a very confortable library!
Pros: First I like the architecture, outside, the gardens, but also inside. Very inspiring. But also the staff could not be better. Hotel rural Quinta da Geia is for me the standard for Portugees hotels. Also very very clean, no dust on the parking. And the restaurant serves a Bib Gourmand, the best in the whole region. I will certainly come back with my family
Pros: We enjoy very much the stay. The room had a great view, big garden and nice restaurant.
Pros: Everything. Wonderful location. Wonderful food. Excellent staff. Andrea and her mom were the sweetest. The owner fantastic. Our dinner on the terrace was phenomenal...
Cons: What is there not to love???
Pros: Very pretty hotel where all details have been taken care of. Very nice canopy bed and cool details in the decoration all over the hotel. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Maybe the only thing that could be better was that the person in charge of the hotel was also working at the restaurant and was alone for serving the breakfast. She was, obviously a little bit overwhelmed. A little help could be good for her...
Stroganov Hotel is a romantic hotel where all 12 rooms are unique and tell you a chapter of Juliana and Grigory Stroganov´s love story. Living areas are places for stories and entertainment, Restaurant Chaminér Russa for exquisite cuisine, Terrace for breathtaking sunsets, Spa for unwinding treatments and Venue for sparkling celebrations. We may do also Hiking and treking routes, cycling routes through the Beautiful mountain Serra da Estrela, or Serra do Caramulo.
Pros: The room was exquisitely decorated and with a beautiful view. We felt like royality. The huge spa bath was extra bubbly and just what the dr ordered for my achy body. The spa was also of very high quality, we will definitely return next time we’re n the area.
Cons: No kettle and tea making facilities, bad for a 5 star. Was charged and extra fee on credit card after leaving too.
Pros: The room was amazing. The decoration is gorgeous, full of little details, the bathroom of the suit was also very big and beautiful. The decoration of the hotel overall is very beautiful and quirky and the staff is very nice. The spa is simple, but it's ok, and very clean.
Cons: The breakfast is very poor for a 5 star hotel. Most likely, it was the biggest disappointment in the whole stay. The hotel is far from everything, so every meal outside of the hotel will take a trip of at least 20 minutes to a restaurant (this is the bad part, the great part is the silence in the area).
Pros: We love, love, love this hotel. The quality and standard of the concept and décor is fantastically wonderful. It is beautiful and gorgeous. And superbly comfortable, luxurious and clean. The staff are top quality and all deserve our thanks and respect. We have stayed in 2 different rooms and love both of them. The bathrooms are as amazing as the bedrooms! The second visit we were really looking forward to another delicious breakfast and were not disappointed. A great meal in superb surroundings. Thank you.
Cons: We booked the second time with the evening meal as part of the bundle and therefore had only a limited menu to choose from. This was a disappointment as our memory of the marvelous meal of the first visit was not repeated and what we were offered was a bit of a let down. However, we did have breakfast to look forward to and that did not fail to live up to expectations.
Pros: The silence and quietness surrounding the location of the hotel is incredible and mesmerizing for whoever search it with the intention to get away from the chaos from cities and business. It is very peaceful place surrounded by green scenery and mountains. Breakfast is very good and delivered and in a very personal athmosphere while we listened to very interesting music.
Cons: My second night sleep from saturday to sunday there was very much noise from the next rooms. I feel the hotel staff should inform us more about the kind of services the Hotel offers and provide a little more information about we can find in the surrounding area.
Pros: Very unusual property, not to our taste at all. However it is a bit of fun. We only stayed one night so perhaps we missed the point. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The staff were very young and didn’t speak much English. They didn’t want to try converse with us or communicate basic things like where the bar was or what time breakfast was. Our room had a giant hair ball in it and wasn’t particularly clean. The property is very unusual and as I mentioned not to our taste and didn’t seem particularly good value for money.
Pros: The hotel was really nice with really good service and facilities It was really relaxing place in the middle of the fields in Portugal
Pros: Beautiful decoration and nice staff
Cons: It was a little bit hidden
Pros: Nice breakfast.
Cons: The spa facilities are outdated. Unprofessional waitresses.
Pros: amazing to stay.

Pros: Good comfy bed and bedding
Cons: Check in was 3 till 9 e mailed to say eta 5. Owner had phones switched off and turned up at 8 . Other guests also waiting. Very bad service, no apology.
Pros: Super comfortable and clean!
Cons: A bit far from the fluvial beaches and places to explore.
Pros: Every time I visit the "bits and pieces" on offer in the communal kitchen improve. It suits my requirements perfectly.
