excellent position with easy transfer to rooms overlooking the douro river and vineyards good restaurent and other restaurants nearby.excellent staff nothing
The room was spotlessly clean and the view from the balcony was exceptional!!! I also loved the lobby mural and view. The town of Regua is wonderful, and we found it the nicest and most charming in the whole Douro area. We actually booked in Regua because we were taking the Douro Azul cruise and it left from there. We felt extremely lucky to have happened upon your hotel. No.
Handy location for railway station and excellent views over the Douro Single room for our daughter was expensive
The hotel is excellently located at directly at the river Douro in the heart of the Douro region. We received an upgrade and had a suite available with a perfect view to the river. Ask for a room with river view, because the rooms to the street side may be noisy due to heavy traffic. Also the breakfast buffet is really good. We could not find anything negative during our stay.
Right on river with good views, and close to best restaurants in town. Important to get the river views. A couple of the reception staff were not that helpful and spoke little English. One was very good.
great view of the river, upgrade to a suite rooms need restoration, swimming pool not working
View over the river was worth the extra cost
The view and the restaurant They need a lift to the car park
The balcony overlooking the beautiful Douro river. Spacious room and facilities. Wonderful breakfast.
proximity to boat, train and bus transport, great views of river, restaurant: good food, wine and service, and moderately priced, would have liked more tourist information available
Air condition one of the staff understood english easy to find Small room No refrigerator Only one of the staff understood english
Hotel was in need of a make-over and has been somewhat neglected. Pool was brown and not in use, breakfast buffet was average - compared to other hotels in Portugal. Bed and pillows hard and found much better hotels at the same price in Porto.
Although situated about 20 minutes' walk from the centre of this little town, there was a delightful path alongside the Duoro River, or a slightly shorter walk along the street. Our room gave a superb view over the river to the hills beyond, with terraces of grapevines everywhere. Room was not huge, but clean and perfectly comfortable. Good breakfast. There was a good value dinner menu prominently displayed on the reception desk, which we took to be their in-house offer. Not so - it was from a sister hotel at the very opposite end of town. However, all was not lost, as a hotel right next door did do dinner, and we enjoyed a great meal there instead.
The Breakfast was very poor with no personnel touch. Beds are very hard. Personnel not very helpful at the Breakfast room and at the reception, they are more interested on watching TV.
Clean, comfortable room. Good value for the money. Good included breakfast. Excellent restaurant next door. Remodeling currently underway -- pretty noisy.
Staff were polite and friendly and the breakfast was good. Beds were quite comfortable. our room had a wonderful view over the river and surrounding hills. Cleanliness of the car parking area around the front of the hotel could have been better.
convenient to river quay and river trips
The location was ideal for guests with a car. Rooms were clean and neat. Staff didn't have much English and couldn't provide advice on reasonably-priced restaurants in the vicinity.
It was near the center of the city and it was clean and nice for the price paid.
First evening no warm water
clean, good value for money
The fair price. The croissants served at breakfast were delicious. The cleanness of the rooms. The hotel location, next to the river Douro (but not facing it), is very convenient. The noise from the street. The hotel is great for a short stay while on a trip but not for relaxing. Some of the rooms face a very busy street and not even the double glass windows prevented the noise.
My whole stay process handled very professionally; very good value; comfortable & location. No elevator, a minor point for me.
In general everything was good, but really nothing special - for to stay one night - ok.
position for going on to other places
location of hotel close to railway station no internet connection for guests, limited information about location for the tourists, level of english of staff
Friendly hotel staff. Hotel could use some fresh paint and furniture.
Automatic lights in corridor. Cleanliness of room. Everything else was okay. Traffic noise but not too bad.
Location of hotel The rooms are a bit basic, pipes along the walls in the bathroom
The hospitality and friendliness No
Very quiet environment in a lovely 18th century house. Most frendly owners who speak English (and Frensh). A "must" if you want to relax. Rooms are cool at night. A little bit hard to find when you arrive at te first time, but people in the villages arround are most frendly to help. Housekeeping is doing everything to please you, the environment is very clean.
Isabel & Henrique were kind, friendly & most obliging hosts at this charming and well appointed quinta close to Mesão Frio. Thye breakfast table could have benefitted from a little more variety & choice!
Very quiet location. Room was very hot. In August that is a big issue! Breakfast very very poor.
Staying with Isobel and Eric was a unique experience. Our evening meal 'en famile' was a delight with four languages used. The site has fabulous views. The ancient buildings, decor and furnishings provide an unusual and delightful experience. This is is not your average hotel! There is nothing we didn't like, but here are some tips. You need a sat nav to find it - or good portuguese - it is remote. The Tourismo sign is the only clue. Ring in advance to book for your first evening meal. We didn't know that, but Isobel directed us to the local village restaurant here we had a good, cheap meal with the locals. Isobel doesn't take credit cards.
We spent two wonderful nights in Quinta do Ervedal in early october. The house and its surroundings are breathtaking and beautiful! The scenery is really something to remember. A nice pool, the comfortable bedroom, friendly staff and delicious food - all was there. You can easily take walks to the nature or maybe trips further up to the Douro valley. Or perhaps you just relax, read a book and enjoy the sunshine on the front yard. So thank you Isabel and Henrique for all your hospitality. We will definitely recommend your quinta to anyone who is interested!
The welcoming feeling by the hoster Isabel and the setting of the whole Quinta I loved every single bit. Shame that I couldn't be on a holliday
The setting of the hotel Difficult to find, be prepared when you go there and do not believe only your navigation system
This place is amazing. It's a 'Quinta' so a Portuguese wine estate. It's set in the heart of the Douro valley in a stunning location. Although this estate does not produce wine, the views from the Estate are amazing and it's a very quiet and comfortable place to stay. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. I had dinner there and the food was amazing. Typical Portuguese food with traditional music playing in the background and of course porte wine. Had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation.
Breakfast was good. The pool looked dirty and the room wasn't comfortable.
The location was superb but without the help of a local who we followed by car it would have been VERY dificult to find. This is more like staying in a private house rather than a hotel. We had dinner on three evenings and it was excellent. Just excellent produce and traditional/simple Portugese cuisine (good portions) with wine from the estate which just kept flowing ! Cost 30 euros a head. The owners were charming and spoke pretty good English, but the star of the show was the cook/maid/ you name it, who spoke no English but was simply delightful and could not have done more to make our stay there very memorable. It is very informal and relaxed, the pool was great the views superb and would be happy to go again and again and yes again !! The lack of really clear directions for say the last say five miles from all directions.
Go there! This really is a very nice B&B (dinner can be ordered and self catering seems also possible, but ask in advance). Small but very cosy and clean rooms. Breakfast is served in a beautiful furnished room the main building. Guests can enjoy the nice garden, the terrace and the swimming pool. Very kind owners, who even gave us a tour to their mountain vineyards and wine cellars. Very good location for visiting the Douro region.
Our hosts were very pleasant and we learn things about the area which we would not have learnt if we had not staid with them
The optional tour of the quinta was wonderful
We had a lovely 4-day stay at Casal Agricola de Cever. The accommodation was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The owners/hosts could not have been more welcoming or helpful and the surroundings were beautiful (set in a working vineyard). We requested a meal on the last night as it was a special occasion and the owners provided a lovely meal in the beautiful old dining room (where breakfasts were also served). We definitely plan to return in the future and would unreservedly recommend it to our friends.
Stunning location/property-car essential.
